Thanks for the moral support. I like finishing things up, too, but definitely feel taken advantage of some days, like yesterday. My boss doesn't understand that things work out better after walking away, getting a good nights' rest and coming in well-rested the next day. I'm not sure I can teach him to see things this way, but I'm definitely going to exercise my right to walk away the next time I foresee this happening.

Poindextra, I hope your dad has good results - as in nothing, or as Nell said, a pulled muscle.

DH's alarm clock keeps going off at odd hours in the early morning, even though we both checked that it isn't set. Anyway, makes for a need to nap later in the day. Since it turned cold and rainy here, that's what we ended up doing.

He has his eyelid surgery tomorrow, so I'll be the nursemaid for a few days. As well as the designated driver.

I'm logging in mighty late for me today - just didn't have a chance to do it this morning. Poindextra, sweetie - prayers for both parents. and for you. and I have to agree with Maree, Dee - it seems your employer needs a few more employees. I sincerely hope you're paid a fair wage for all that work. Wishing all the house moving folk smooth transitions from one home to another. My own renovation is on hold till Himself gets together with a final bathroom salesperson. I am so over this project and it has hardly begun. Must keep chanting "This is a No Fight Project. This is a No Fight Project."

My first week of charting my 3 goals resulted in some nice chart bling and a 2 lb weight loss. Well - to be honest, it was probably a 1.5 lb weight loss since last night I wore the feather light dress and the week before I weighed in a pair of slacks and a blouse. Still - cheering myself because I enjoyed the week of monitoring myself. My new fitbit came in the mail yesterday too - and it is so much nicer looking. It's the Alta and it's purple and sleek and works much better with my wardrobe.

Off to fix dinner now. a thunderstorm is rolling in.

Weight is coming down but no eating out. That always sends it up for a few days. The morning is overcast but I am meeting my walking partner. Then off for errands and doctor appointments

I loved the Torpedo when we stayed in Alexandria a few years ago. That was a wonderful trip

Oh glorious nightís sleep! emoticon We met with our realtor last night and decided what we were and were not going to do on the buyerís repair list. Now hubby can get to work. We will be sending it back to the buyer today for his agreement. We have been more than fair so hopefully this will be the last Ė well except for the appraisal.

I ordered the containers (POD) for the move and have the rental agreement all set up. Now hubby and I have to make a decision about the floors in the new house. We would be risking $5K. Right now we are leaning toward doing it but have a little more time before we actually have to pull that trigger. emoticon

I am hoping that hubby will feel like going to the gym later today. I may go by myself or do some ST at home if he gets too busy on his list. emoticon

Bess ~ Hope everything went well for you. emoticon

JamirBlaze ~ Great job on the steps. And you are doing something right. You are supposed to feel it a bit. emoticon

Donna ~ Wishing you a well deserved low key day. Iíll join you in your piddling. emoticon

Poindextra ~ Great news for your MIL. emoticon about not worrying about what you donít know. But that is soooo hard.

Sunny ~ One day at a time. emoticon

Phebess ~ That is crazy. I get bruises on my knees and I donít know how or why. emoticon

Dee ~ I remember when I worked, it was better to take a week off than just a day. People donít wait for you to return and things get taken care of. emoticon

Maree ~ Enjoy your walk/run with hubby. emoticon

Toni ~ Where are you off to? emoticon

Kellie ~ How cool that you get to run through the zoo. Bet the time flies. emoticon

Nell ~ I enjoyed a sleep in too. emoticon

Off to a not sure what will happen type of day.

Diane, I hope all goes well with your Dads scan. Such a worry when you are trying not to worry. As far as your MIL it is good she is where she needs to be for her care but another sorry for the family as to what comes next.
Dee, happy for you with the great boating season. We do get those great Summers once in a while. Enjoy!!
Today I have a few errands to do and plan to make some soup for tomorrow. Just a piddling day which is fine with me. A little exercise is also on the agenda.

Good morning.

The heat of summer returns today. It's been so wonderful to have the windows open, but it's back to air conditioning until next week.

All those appliances I bought for the condo last week will be delivered today. I only have to be there briefly to get the warranty papers and serial numbers to register the appliances.

Diane, I hope your dad has a result he wants from the scan. Did you ever think you'd be praying for a pulled muscle?

I didn't make it to Cracker Barrel last night, hubby didn't get home from the dentist until after 6. I lost my one meal a month to eat out.

I slept until 7:30 so I'm behind from the first minute today. Time to make breakfast for hubby and close up the house.

Mornin! POINDEXTRA, prayer for good test results for your dad!

I was low key yesterday, forgot I have an Orange Theory session today so I didn't want to overdue anything. I aimed for 6 ten-minute walks but fell a little short....47 minutes.

Another day of oppressive heat and humidity. So far the forecast for Sunday is mild, high in the mid 70s which should make for a beautiful morning for the Brookfield Zoo 5K. I love this event, we run a course through the zoo, the zoo I used to go to when I was young and where I took my kids to when they were little.

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Hump Day, of sorts, I suppose, with a shorter week this week.

Maree - Slow going, but I'm sure that it will all come together and will feel great when you are done!

Poindextra - Hope everything turns out okay!

ST last night, cardio today. I'm really feeling the last few days, so may take it a little easier tonight. I'll see how sore my muscles are.

Hope that everyone has a good one!

Happy Wednesday everyone,

Not much to report. DH had a long conversation with his sister last night; more will be revealed later as to what needs to happen with MIL and FIL after MIL's surgery.

My Dad had his 6-month checkup with his oncologist yesterday (he's been in remission from Lymphoma for quite a few years now). When he mentioned that he's been having intermittent back pain, she ordered an abdominal CT scan. I'm glad she ordered the scan, but of course we're all a bit worried now about what might show up. I sure do hope that the cancer hasn't come back.

So, now it's time to get to work; that should distract me from all these worldly cares. There's nothing I can DO right now, and worrying never helped anyone.

Spark on, my friends!

Good morning!

Had a very nice afternoon yesterday. Took myself to the Torpedo Factory, an art collective in Alexandria and then out to lunch. It felt fun to take myself out for a spin in the world. It was quiet in the town. It was the first day of school for most of the area and I could feel the slow down of commerce in what is a big tourist area, as well as my home town now. On the Spark front, 10K steps done easily.

Now it's back to work and making lists for an upcoming trip mid-month.

Have a good day, everyone. Toni

Good morning!

Dee, I have a strong work ethic and believe in staying late to finish a deadline project, but this seems to be a chronic problem with your employer.

Thanks for the advice on the reader app. I'm still working on it. I got a lot done yesterday but don't feel like I made a dent in the work that needs to be done. Frustrations: charity I went to was closed. Box of dance clothes I had ready to donate to Boys and Girls Club a few weeks ago had to be re-washed. Cabinets are ready to paint. Hauling junk and cardboard off today.

DH and I are to go for our long walk/run this morning at 6 am. Heat and humidity are back for a few days so want to get it done early. Forecast for the weekend is beautiful AGAIN! Best boating season ever!

Hope all have a great day!!
