Bess, I did not know you were so close to me when you are innBellingham. We live just a few minutes across the truck crossing......
As far as the weather this storm was predicted for the weekend. I heard it was going to be a pretty major storm. We are I Lake Tahoe and it is also having a major wind and rain storm. Started last night......guess we can't escape it

Toni, we have a storage unit near my middle brother - he's our person who gets our mail, checks for anything important, contacts us, pays bills, etc. And FedExes our meds to us every 3 or so months. But all of our doctors and the clinic we go to are about a 3 or 4 hr drive away - so that's also kind of home base. It would make sense to have both in the same location, but it didn't work out that way. We make do. Come to Bellingham for the medical and to visit people in Seattle, and drive out to Yakima for a few days with my brother. My youngest brother is here in Bellingham, and this is where the parents house was. (Sold last spring.)

Today has been rainy and there are high wind warnings. I think I also heard thunder earlier. Just a nasty day. We went out this morning, but stayed in the rest of the day. Got a lot of trip planning done, though - we actually are all booked through to the end of November. Wow, a whole six or seven weeks where we know where we'll be!

Linda, what I deal with is nothing compared to what you are going through. I hope everything works out well for you. Hang in there!!!!
I have read your posts and because life is pretty crazy right now I cannot comment on all of them, we arrived I. LAke Tahoe today after a long two day drive and I can't believe we will be repeating this on Monday when we return home. I sure hope the wedding is worth it. I know it will be... These two young people are pretty amazing people and it is wonderful to share their special day.
I can't even think about exercise and calories. Of course it is in the back of my mind but I really don't have as much control as I like.

Very sick today because of Erythropoitinhormone replacement therapy injection yesterday related to chronic kidney disease. It is the hormone that makes red blood cells which I have little of. Blood test number is 5,suppose to be 100. It is only given to cancer patients and people with severe chronic kidney disease because of the major side effects. It can kill you and then you have to be rushed to the hospital to possibly survive, without it you will die. How is that for a side effect?? I was also given special Iron pills for 2 months for people with cancer and severe chronic kidney disease. because my body does not tolerate iron.Dr. says injection works in 2 days and no exercise till then. I went to a clinic with a list of tests because regular Dr. will not do them. I get tested yearly.

My weight is back to top of maintenance which is good because my 3 year anniversary is next week. I have been working hard to eat well because it means that my DH is eating well. I did get out for a walk late morning but it has been cooler so it was a nice walk.

I live a 5 minute walk to the beach and see it everyday i get out for a walk. But there is something different about being away from home in Maui with the trade winds gently blowing. It really slows us down.

Off to run errands while the help person is here taking care of the DH.

Good morning!

Feeling very wealthy in friendship from each of you. Thank you! I'm doing a bit of a catch up on each of you this morning because it's been awhile. Inspired by Strongdawg who reminded me how great it is to be in touch in some way with each of you.

Dee, delighted you are looking forward to another 3 day weekend! Sunny, the caregiving time can be really hard. It's relying on each other in a whole different way. I hope you will enjoy Maui--when you get there. In my book seeing the ocean softens most problems.

Phebes, you have explained how you do the travel and it sounds amazing. Do you have a home base? I'm thinking I would need that in some way and am curious how you feel about it?

Ah, Donna, those long car trips are killers, aren't they. I stiffen right up into a kind of crispy, creaky pretzel! Hope you find some time to stretch and bit and get where you are going soon. Not looking forward to next week when we do a 9 hour stretch too.

Lin, really glad you can look forward to an energy boost in a day or two. And Strongdawg, it does take a bit of time to get to know everyone. All I can say is it's worth doing AND no one expects anyone to be in tune every day. At least that's my take. I use Bess's suggestion often, but not every day. TEM! I didn't realize the Giants had lost! As a Nats fan am very used to losing in the playoffs, always a disappointment.

Bless you Nell, for hanging out at condo civic meetings. I've yet to meet anyone who loves them, and we seem to need ot have them.

Kellie, happy travels with your friends. Love girl friend time! Sending healing thoughts to Poindextra as she moves along into PT. CBULLIS - great you are tackling a maintenance challenge.

Ah Maree, I know the feeling of hoping the cleaning person likes us, the house, etc. well enough to come back!! I am so grateful for the help we get with our house. Jamirblaze - jealous about Hamilton!! Tell us all about it, promise? And thinking of you Bess. I know you don't drown in admin work, but it sounds like such a pain!!!

I apologize if I have missed anyone and will catch you next time if so. I've started the day with a strong workout after a completely 'on track' yesterday. Feeling all Sparky as we head to the lake where again I will valiantly try to get in my kayak. The weather last weekend made it impossible, but the forecast is promising.

Toni

Happy Friday eve! I'm leaving work somewhat early tomorrow to hang out with my best friend for the afternoon/evening - or so is planned - so today is my last full day for the week. So I'm looking forward to that for sure. And two weeks from today, I will be in Chicago seeing Hamilton. I ordered the biography that inspired the creator yesterday, so I hope to be able to read that before the show. (Reading "The Gargoyle" by Andrew Davidson currently - not sure if I'll be able to get into it - and "Slave to Sensation" by Nalani Singh on the Kindle.)

Maree- It's plenty possible to still be struggling on Whole 30. Have to make sure you don't over rely on meat and potatoes and eat lots of veggies - tweaking all the time to make sure that I don't do that.

Got ST and a little cardio in yesterday. Try to sneak a walk or two in today as I need to grocery shop tonight.

Wishing everyone the best with work, travels and medical issues! Hope that everyone has a great day!

Happy Thursday! It's my Friday! emoticon Tomorrow I leave with two women I've been friends with since high school for a girl's weekend in Michigan. Can't wait!

Last night I did some fundraising for the Chicago N.E.D.A. walk my daughter is coordinating then put on my Blackhawks jersey, turned the game on low and did a Yoga By Adriene video, some wrist stretches, every once in a while peaking up at the score. Not a great game. Whatcha gonna do.

Hoping to leave work on time and get a run in before I lose daylight.

Happy Thursday!

Tonight is the monthly condo board meeting, and it's the annual budget meeting. I hate these things, it's when we vote on condo fee increases for next year, and most of our owners just scream and threaten. And we have to deal with the new property manager, he is the laziest human being I have ever met.

Maree, when I first hired cleaners last year it was for once a month. I saw it as admitting defeat, that I wasn't able to do my own work. After two months, I sucked it up and paid them to come every two weeks and haven't looked back. I guess I just became comfortable with my own inadequacies. I took such pride in doing my own work, but pride is the greatest of the 7 deadly sins. Or so I tell myself. I'm not sure what Whole 30 or 5 Fast are. I just plod on counting exchanges.

I do have "friend" stories, it's one of the things about getting older and listening to a million people over the years. Some of those stories, while fascinating, are pretty old by now. I don't even know where the "friend" mentioned is anymore, but the stories live on. It's a sort of immortality.

Best eat breakfast and get going. Hubby is still asleep so I have to be quiet.

LOL! Maree I do that too. "I have a friend ....." because you are all my friends. Strongdawg, since I can't always keep up with my friends here during the day, I always open up yesterday's post first, and then today's in another screen. That way I can toggle between the two. So here's my question to you - do you have a dawg? or even a dog?

I hope you are feeling more energetic soon, Linda. Sending get well or feel better juju to all my maintainer pals. My own shingles don't hurt and have never really crusted over - they just seem to be fading. slowly. I've still been chained to my desk with reports and other writing projects but it all grinds down to a pause next Wednesday. I'll finish out that week and then I'm taking a vacation. Half staycation and a wee tiny bit of travel. There is a long road that goes down the mountains of Virginia, winding through the little towns along the way. Himself and I are taking that trip in stages and we're going to up there one day in the middle of the week. (there's in interstate just a few miles west of it where all the traffic is) I just got an email too, about a tatting class being offered that week at an art guild not too far away so I will indulge myself in that. It's the only needlework I was never able to teach myself.

Tonight is the Rotary Pork Roast Dinner and I have 2 tickets. salad for lunch today.

Hi all, I'm sure glad it's almost the weekend!

Yesterday I played piano for the first time since July 30 - I just ran through a few pieces I'll play for the spring festival, and they weren't too shabby considering how long it's been since I've played them. My goal is to have them all memorized, so we'll see how that goes!

Today, I've had my healthy breakfast (sitting down, but not necessarily eaten slowly or mindfully:)), and all of my rations for the day are packed and logged.

Tonight I'll run some errands after work, and then go to an evening meeting I haven't been to since I broke my hip. Getting back in to the old schedule does feel strange!

And, I'm already planning for the weekend - My goal for that is to move some things around in the garage so I can bring my car back in. And, the lawn needs to be mowed, too. I think I'll be able to do that; if not, I'll have to ask Hubby.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!

Confession Strongdawg, I don't always keep everyone straight! But I sure enjoy all my friends here, and have learned so much--some weight-related, some not. I've been known to pass along stories from these posts, saying "I have a friend who...." Very enriching!

Oh, was it nice to come home to a clean house last night! I hope she comes back next month. We texted last night, but I don't have a date for next month. I hope I can keep up with the great start I now have.

Tonight DH and I are headed to DD's house, we'll be picking up granddaughter from school (she gets out early) and taking her to the houseboat with us, so DH can attend a high school alumni event Fri night, then we'll come home Saturday morning and DD will be here, as we are attending a family get together here Saturday night. She is going to do a few things for me here before company arrives next Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm looking forward to it! Jamirblaze, she has started Whole 30, after the "5 fast" stopped working for her. We all have to find what works!

I'm headed to crossfit class, then travelling for work. I have turkey breast packed for lunch.

Hope all have a great day!!
