Wow Stigmyt very busy day for sure!

Hope your son gets that all straightened out Nell. I can be quite the pushover which is causing much of my work stress.

13 hour day today. Late day problems kept me there. I skipped the July 3rd party DH and I always go to at a friend's house. I told him to go thinking I'd be out of work soon and just head there but that didn't happen. I was not up for the drive out there and hunting for parking.

I did some yoga to unkink, laid out my clothes for tomorrow's 5K and tucked in to watch the end of the Cubs game.

Here's to a happy and safe 4th!

Good afternoon Everyone

This has really been a bury day! First I had TOPS. I had a 1 pound loss and was the Loser of the Week. After that, I saw about an appointment for Michaela. After that, I took an elderly couple to shop at the closest Walmart (26 miles away) I got home and fixed lunch and asked Robert to go get Mary's Chiropractor appointment while I ate lunch. Then I took her to the grocery store and to her home. Its almost 5 now and the first chance to sit down and relax since about 8 AM.

Things went well for Michaela yesterday in Kalispell. The reunion between Michaela and her mother was very emotional. It was very joyful. Words can't express it. Even the employees of Rehab came out to see what was going on. I'm sure it will be in their memories for a long time. We were there for about 4 hours before we had to go. Louise and I snuck out and had some lunch and let mom and daughter have some alone time and eat together.

Today is my grandmother's birthday. She would have been 128 years old. My mother and my aunts always had a "surprise" birthday for her and made plans for the July 4th picnic. They were already prepared for the picnic food wise. My grandmother would probably been more surprised if we didn't have a "surprise" party for her. lol

Itís the summer of cookie love, over the 4 weeks of July we make a dozen decorated cookies for specific groups of people. The first week is done and it was a vet. Next week is a librarian. The third week is fireman or police officer. The last week is someone in a home or homeless shelter.

Good morning.

My son is off work today, I'll try to talk to him about how to deal with that woman. This has happened before, he falls for a sob story, then has no idea how to extricate himself. When it's the condo, though, I'm the one on the hook, not him. He's a mark, a predator can pick him out of a crowd in a minute.

Toni, 11 years is pretty short for an air conditioner, that's more the lifespan of a heat pump that works year round. My nephew is a boat builder in south Jersey. He said marine contractors are usually booked a year in advance because the season is so short.

Bess, I prefer white rice mainly because it's so easy to make. Black and red rice need to be soaked then cooked. White rice is maybe 20 minutes.

Econ, I had a friend who liked to sew clothes, but she only made clothes for her grandchildren. She said kids aren't so picky and can enjoy what she made, which made it fun.

Even local government has a 4 day weekend, I have to get to the courthouse to pay my real estate tax bill. The bill they sent in the mail is less than what shows online, the lower one is the right one. If they did it to me, they did it to lots of people, they need to know.

Good morning!

Another warm pretty day in VA and our AC is working. The repairmen duct taped it together enough to hopefully give us the weekend of coolness. Meanwhile they are researching replacement units. Who knew 11 years is old for such things.

We have guests coming later today through the 4th and then a free weekend unless our daughter can get free. All our guests the summer ahead are family and for me, easy to incorporate any time.

Thinking about swimming instead of walking early today before the 4th boat traffic gets crazy.
Sure enjoying the delight of activity in summer temps.

Toni

Maree - what fun to have an almost 1 year old to play with this weekend. I love watching fireworks from a boat
Phebess - this is a brotherly love time for you. Enjoy
Econlady - yes - it's good that kids don't judge cookies on their artistic merit! I wouldn't either.
Donna - big hugs to you - and may this be the year of recovery for you so that next year can be the year of activity
Stiggy - good luck for you and your friend
Jamirblaze - I love a guy with tools!
Toni - I'm feeling the summer beat too - so many things going on, so much daylight to do them in!
Nell - I'm in the same boat with my DH- watching the amount of rice - on the few occasions I serve it. But I do love all rice. Funny - my mother - who hated to cook and doubted her ability, though she produced meals every day - never made rice. I once asked my big sister, font of all wisdom, why and she said it was because mama believed the TV ads that rice was hard to cook and my father refused to eat the parboiled boxed stuff. Thus - no rice. I only ever got it in the school cafeteria when they made meatloaf.

I'm so glad I did the porch on Monday because it's turned hot hot hot here and I can clean the inside with the A/C on. We won't have any children coming tomorrow unless Da Pwincess comes with her Dad but we will have some older folk who will be happier to sit on the porch and amble about the shady yard while other middle aged folk go swimming. We have not been able to get any marine contractors up here to rebuild our pier and I wouldn't take a troupe of people out on it in the state it's in now. Too much weight. Happily, there is another swimming hole on the adjacent property and I asked the owner if I could take my swimming guests out there. We'll go in a car but it'll be SUCH fun for my guests to swim in a new part of the river. Lights are on in the studio!

Good morning!

It's my Friiiidaaay, but a full, busy one! And we have company--DH's daughter and her 11 mo old son. It's a long story but we are happy to have the opportunity to meet this grandson and spend some time getting to know him. They will be with us until Monday.

DD and family are "camping" in IN with friends. They both have campers and had these plans in place before we were contacted by DH's daughter. The river town where DH grew up has a very nice fireworks display on the river front. All the boaters anchor out and barge traffic is suspended for the few hours. It'll be great!

Jamirblaze, hope the scope gives you the answers you need and otherwise goes well.

Nell, ugh. One problem after another. Hope you receive cash in one lump sum from the condo thief and you don't have to deal with him over time.

I bet those cookies are fancy by comparison to store bought cookies, Econlady! What a nice treat!

Bess, Toni -- nice clean digs for your guests! Enjoy!

Howdy to everyone else! I need to dress for crossfit class, pack my lunch and be at work early. We'll head to the houseboat after work.

Hope all have a great day!!
