Yesterday, I did a 60-minute workout. Today, I'm going to power walk outside for at least 60 minutes. I haven't been taking enough advantage of using my time outside of work on the weekends to get in a significant amount of exercise, so I really want to do that now instead of taking a Saturday or Sunday as a rest day. Inevitably, some weeknight plans always make one or more of those nights a night without exercise, so I need to get it in whenever I can!

Happy Sunday, all! I think my body has finally adjusted to the time change! emoticon

We're glad you're here! Congrats on your healthy choices. Keep it up!

I packed my lunch and snacks for work again today; it's the weekend and no cafeteria, so everyone orders out--but I'm armed with my homemade healthy foods that keep me in my calorie range. No pizza or greasy fries for me!

Congrats and a great weekend to all. emoticon

Hello everyone, I'm new to spark people :)
Today, I exercised even though I didn't want to. I drunk only water and orange juice. I ate pretty clean.

I've stuck to my eating plan today, had 6 glasses of water so far and burned 256 calories in my workout. Total calories for the day will be about 1400, so that's right where I want to be! And by the end of the day I will have had 6 services of fruits & veggies.

Glad to see everyone's doing great and making strides toward the goals. Good luck with your treadmill shopping BUTTERFLY!

I used my break tonight to squeeze in 20 minutes on the bike. Now that I'm finding myself actually enjoying the gym (NEVER thought I'd say that, I've always despised the gym!) I also broke down and invested in a good sport bra and some new running shoes today, since I know I'll actually use them and benefit from them. In the past I never exercised enough to merit the expense.

Congrats to everyone who's making it happen one day and one step at a time. Glad you're all here!

Hi all! Checking in for the day.

I burned 221 calories with a 40-minute workout, I've stuck to my eating plan so far, and I've tracked everything! Also....joined in on the latest challenge in my other team to lose 5 lbs by Nov. 30th! If that doesn't get me in gear I don't know what will lol!

Great to see everyone posting. Congrats on taking your steps today to work toward better health & wellness!

Great, congrats to everyone! I know we've all heard it before but it really is the little things that count...almost as much (and sometimes more) that the big ones!

Today I burned a total of 475 calories between treadmill, strength training & yoga. I've also been great about sticking to my eating plan. I still have dinner to go but it's already planned out. Just have to eat it!

I also made a decision on a career change that will positively affect how I approach fitness and health. It's given me a new goal to strive for and a real reason to keep going and reach my goal by May of 2014!

Keep pushing everyone. Our steps, however small or large, or putting us close to reaching our goals!

I walked 4 miles at work on the ramps, then walked 1.5 miles with trick or treating. I did not make good food choices but it's okay there is tomorrow. It was a pretty good day at work too. It was nice seeing my grandparents as well tonight. I will attempt to go to bed early.

It's my night off and UNBELIEVABLY, incredibly, I am about to head out to the gym--a 30 minute drive, and I am NOT the go-to-the-gym type. Never have been. But nobody's there late at night and I can put a movie on my tablet and burn those calories in peace!

I know this is going to sound like a commercial, and it's not without its faults, but I have to admit that the Spark Tracker really has gotten me into exercise. It's like a little digital conscience with all its little lights, blinking up at me, saying "you haven't done much moving today"... It's like a little high for me when those crazy lights are finally all lit. When you don't have a healthy lifestyle buddy, I have to say for me it's the next best thing. It tells me when I'm slackin'!

Congrats to everybody in the thread that's been getting up getting busy! I'm glad I joined you!

We needed to pick up a few things at the store. Instead of driving there, the whole family decided to walk - 2 miles total. That got me 40 min of cardio and got me off the couch.

emoticon I drank my 8 glasses of water! I did 10 minutes of workout, which is all I could manage to get it in. But I still did it! Once your body gets used to drinking the water you do not have to potty so much, I did the same thing once you flush the junk out of your system and your body gets the idea you don't go so much!

Joining SP was about making the next step past that 'first phase' which I had been in during the summer. It was time to start moving, and pay better attention to my eating.

I didn't do all that well with food today, but I DID join a "Slimmer by Thanksgiving" Challenge which will have me exercising in a variety of amounts throughout the month.

Today I walked a mile and did the 15-minute abs workout, and I feel good. It feels like it was the right amount for me at this time -- I am NOT in shape, and that much has given me that recognition of muscle weakness and obvious sweating without feeling like I was run over by a Mack truck.

PS. KATONDECK, the peeing is really annoying isn't it!?!! I've washed my hands so many times in the past week they're getting chapped. besides.

I think this is a great idea! You're right, even a week can seem like a BIG hurdle.

Today I actually drank water! An entire Nalgene bottle so far, and a bit into the next one. I'm usually too busy to think about what I drink (or don't) throughout the day. Today, I made a it a special point to finish with coffee by 11am or so and then, when I finished a small task and took a breath, I chugged some water.

I hate how I have to pee every 30-45 minutes! I feel like I can't get things started, cuz just when I look at something else to tackle(we JUST moved), I have to pee!

It's ok... it's all worth it later!

Oh, and I did my measurements. We don't have a scale and I can't find the batteries for my Wii board yet. I tape measure my bits. Sadly, overall, I went up a 1/4 inch from last time.
Incentive to stick to the plan from now on!

Well behaved women rarely make history.

I think progress will be easier if we look at our goals in terms of doing a little bit of something each day to reach them. Sometimes looking at things on a weekly or monthly basis gives us too much time between checking in to see the progress we've really made.

So I thought I'd start this conversation so that we can all find reasons to celebrate and ways to be motivated daily. The point is to focus on small successes so that we don't become overwhelmed, and so that we can easily reach the bigger successes without too much worry.

What 1 thing did you do today to take yourself further on the path of reaching your main goal? It can be a small thing or a big thing. Did you buy more fresh veggies & fruits on your beginning-of-the-month grocery run? Did you track your steps? Did you replace any meals with healthier options? Did you go to bed early last night so you could get more sleep? What was your success for today?

I'll start it off. I did 3 things today to contribute to my weight loss & lifestyle change goals. I got more sleep last night, I ate half the day's veggies & fruits at breakfast and I worked out for 90 minutes.
