Ques - Good luck on your goal, I am sure you will do it!

I didn't walk or ride today, in fact today was a horrible day as far as my eating is concerned. Tomorrow is a new day and a new start. Have a great Monday everyone!

Zak - I am with you. If weather is nice I am outside walking if not biking indoors. Let me know how you want track. Walked yest and today. This will help me decrease those curves for the dress I am planning on wearing to a wedding in June (first big goal of the year!)

Was great today being outside, helped my sister take down some trees in her yard. Was sunny and comfortable temps. emoticon

Hope everyone has enjoyed the same weather this weekend. Have some catch up reading to do so also wishing that all the loved ones whether human or animal are in good health.

Ques - Yeah I stopped tracking online and started writing it in a notebook a little while ago. I know it helps I just tend not to do it. But like you said little steps can start a trend.

Yesterday I received an email from MapMyWalk about a 30/30 challenge. It is 30 miles in 30 days. I'm not going to join their challenge because with my feet there is no way I could walk/run that much. I have a bike but unfortunately it is difficult to get to right now, so I am going to do it my way. I am going to write down my mileage when I ride my stationary bike in the basement, that way I can still do the challenge just in a way that works for me. I started yesterday and plan to do it again today. Anyone else interested in trying it?

Ali - congrats on the weight loss! Good point in regards to having to sneak into the doc's office to weigh yourself (no scale at home). Just confirms how many ways there are for us to know how we are progressing or maintaining - scales, clothing, tape measures or in general how we are feeling.

Glad as 1CrazyDog has already pointed out FRIDAY is almost here - YEAH another weekend and it's supposed to be warm and sunny! Hope there is no ER visit for Spot this weekend and sounds like although there are ups and downs at home you are all learning how to find a rhythm to smooth over the rough spots.

Zak as we all know small steps are sometimes the way we start a trend. Would it be any easier to just jot food down in a notebook rather than having to figure it out in the computer right now?

Hope we all get to see some of that sunshine the weather men keep predicting and may it be nice enough that we don't need jackets this weekend. emoticon

Ali - not, that's the problem this is the only vet cardiologist! My plan is that if I see anything untoward . . . ANYTHING . . . w/Mr. Spot, we head either to his vet or the Emergency clinic and not leaving till an appt. is made w/the cardiologist.

1 - Yea for Dad! Glad you were able to keep Mom occupied and keep her anxieties at bay. I can't believe you haven't heard from the cardiologist yet... is there another one you could call? I'm glad that he's not showing any signs, hopefully they get back to you soon.

Ali - emoticon on your 4 pound loss! And 19 since December - awesome! Happy to hear that you feet are feeling better, I know how sore feet can affect your life. I hope they continue to get better.

Not much to report. I have stopped tracking again - trying to get back into it. I've gained about 3.5 pounds since I've stopped. Will I ever learn?!?! Ok so starting right now I am going to start tracking again. Have a good day.

1: How wonderful for your Dad, that's great news! And so glad you were able to keep your Mom's anxieties at bay. Yes, it's definitely a good thing to keep your mouth healthy, because that can affect so many other things in your body. Me time is very important, Happy the sunny weather is here and you're able to get outside to do it. YAY. So wonderful to hear all the good things with Spot, I'm so happy for you...I will keep all of you in my prayers, your parents, Spot, and especially you. Take care of yourself, and smile, no matter what happens. *hugs*

I didn't do a lot, ok, compared to most days. Had my foot doctor appointment it went well, and I snuck on the scales and weighed myself, lost 4 pounds since my last appointment on the 2nd. I know it's not a lot, BUT it's a loss, and I'm very happy about that. So I've lost 19 pounds since December, and that I'm really excited about. I didn't think I was losing anything (nope, no scales at home, so only time I weigh is at the doctor). My feet are doing great, no more pain in them, nor in my back, which I had all the time, so YAY!! and my movement in my feet has gone from 8 degrees to 22 degrees, excellent!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Thursday – well yesterday turned out pretty well. Dad went to get his license renewed and passed! I cannot believe it, but he did.

Mom had lots of anxieties, but kept her so busy she didn’t have time for that too much! PHEW

Have my Endodontist appt. on Monday. We’ll see how this all works out. I will just be glad for my mouth to be healthy. Definitely.

Sunny day so got my walk in. Sure needed that ME time.

We’ll see how today progresses. Oh, and STILL NO WORD FROM THE CARDIOLOGIST! Thinking that I will need to get Mr. Spot back to the vet just to be checked out and see what he thinks. Mr. Spot is not showing any symptoms and so that’s a good thing. Listened to his heart too, and still a whoosh whoosh, but not pronounced @ all. So those are good signs.

1: Glad your Dad made it home safe Thursday, and you were able to keep your Mom calm, and that your walk helped you out, you need that for yourself. glad to hear you're staying focused, and all ready for nearly anything. *hugs*

Zak: I will definitely keep you and Sierra in my prayers, I can't even imagine your frustration *hugs* Things came together, not as we planned, but it went well. :) How wonderful that the xrays came out clear, that's wonderful news YAY, at least something good is coming for Sierra..and you! We need uneventful days, I'm glad you had one, finally! Grab it and run!

Ques, I had a wonderful weekend, it was hectic, but so much fun with most of our daughter's bridesmaids (but for 3, that's on my blog or going to be when I get there), but we had a great time, thank you!

Today it's back to preparing wedding things, got things added to the "secret item" today, working on the chair backs got them done, so two more things done! YAY; also started a list of what needs to be transported; I've needed to do that for a long time. We had a wonderful weekend, everything finally came together when we arrived. Whewww! She's got a great bunch of girls in her wedding for the most part. Have a wonderful day, everyone, enjoy it! *hugs*

Ques - Yes it is nice that they are working with us. I don't know what I'll do without her, I love her so much. I want to take the best care of her I can so she'll be around for as long as possible.

1 - I'm glad to hear you got to spend some time with Jason. With all you guys have going on I'm sure you don't get that time together to often.

Nothing much going on. I hope you are all having a great Monday. (((((hugs)))))

Sunday – Jason and I got out for a few hrs. yesterday. Had to go to the store, but didn’t hurry! Felt good. Not the best weather day, but by afternoon the sun peeked out for a nanosecond.

All-in-all, a good, uneventful day.

QUES: Yes, for sure they BOTH need LITTLE changes @ a time especially after the DRAMATIC changes that have occurred over the last 2 yrs. since Mom had cancer, and diagnosed w/Alzheimer's. Then moving up here! LOTS to take in for anyone, especially when you're older.

Hope it's a good day!

Zak - that is great that your vet is so understanding and finding a solution that postpones the surgery for a while. Glad the dietary changes are working on the stones - that's a relief.

Today was the first day some of our local nurseries were open and it was chilly walking through the green houses. Was fun though to think of soon planting and watching the vegetables and flowers grow and bloom. Couldn't resist buying a few things but seems a little too chilly to get them planted outside.

1CrazyDog - you are multi-talented, cutting your moms hair! Seems like a smart idea to do just a little at a time, less drastic and allows her to get used to small changes in how she looks. Sounds like she is experiencing positive changes being with you in WI, bet your dad appreciates being with you as well.

Ali - hope you are finding enough hours in the day with all the directions that life is taking you.

Have a great Sunday (wish there were two Saturdays in the week ;)

1 - so glad to hear your Mom had a good day, I as well hope it keeps up. Thank you for your prayers.

Ques - Our vet is prescribing antibiotics for the first 5 days of the month until we can afford to get the surgery. He said that should keep the infection (from her teeth) in check until we can remove them. I am happy that will work and we can then save up the money, that's a big weight off our shoulders - there's plenty more but that's at least one relief.

So Sierra had an xray yesterday and it showed clear! Yea! So now we are transitioning her from the stone diet to a urinary diet to continue to clear her system. After about three weeks of that we can start transitioning her back to her regular food. The food was expensive but she is so worth the money. Not much else to report so here's wishing you all a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Saturday – Busy day. Cut Mom’s hair (just a bit of a trim) per her request. YIKES. Had a pretty “together” day. Hope that lasts. I can see so much improvement since she’s come here. So glad.

Got an outdoor walk in early this morning. Feels so good. At least the sun was out yesterday afternoon. Not today! Oh well, but no precip.

Wow Zak - really sorry that Sierra is going through this and that things are so financially challenging (medical expenses rack up so quickly). Are there any temporary holistic/alternative medicine things that can be done (that don't cost an arm and a leg so to speak?). I know for humans (have no idea re: dogs) that for the stones that are self treatments and for the mouth organic cold pressed coconut oil can help relieve some issues. Hope there is an option that is less expensive but effective in Sierra's care.

A rainy weekend but the weekend non the less emoticon

Ques - yes when you love your pets like your children it is hard to see them go through illness. Sierra is my furry little angel, she's been there for me during some of the most difficult times in my life and I don't think I would've made it through without her.

1 - I'm happy you were able to calm you Mom down. I am so proud of you for continuing to get you walks in, way to go!

Ali - I hope all of your projects are coming together for you.

I received the estimate for the procedure for Sierra. They think what caused the bladder stones is that she has two abscessed teeth and that is what's putting the infection in her body. I got the estimate for the "procedure" to remove her teeth - $503.79! I have $92 dollars left on my Care Credit credit card but that doesn't include todays visit and xrays. So because I can't afford to pay for it they won't do it which means we'll have to go through this all over again. ARGH! I am so frustrated. Please keep us in your prayers to find a solution for this problem. I hope you all have a great day and enjoy the nice weather we're suppose to have.

Thursday – Dad went to IL yesterday. Mom did not deal w/that well @ all. Definitely employed all the tools in my “box of tricks” and kept her reasonably calm. Fortunately Dad made it home safe-and-sound. That was my biggest concern. So, onward w/Thursday!

Got a walk in early, and boy did my brain need it! So, I’ll keep moving and taking care of me too.

Hope it’s a good day for you!

Wow, I'm the first one here today, that's a first. I hope you're all doing well and things are going great.

It's a beautiful day outside, well..looking from the windows inside. It feels like it could still be cold out, but looking out the window, the sky is blue and the sun is shining bright. BUT the wind is blowing, too. And anymore, even in the summer when the wind blows, it's always that blasted cool breeze instead of that warm summer breeze we used to get. I miss that so much...I miss the old summers which were hot and the nights..ok, maybe not the hot, sweaty nights, but still. I miss the warm summers we used to have. Seems, anymore all we get is cold weather, but I'm still hoping and praying for a beautiful summer day for our daughter's wedding.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, and things are looking up for you all. Stay strong, determined, and let's defeat our weight and become triumphant in our goals! emoticon

1: Keep your head up, and your thoughts positive that things will be alright with Spot, don't thing negatively until you find out differently, ok? No sense in getting yourself worked up before you have any results, otherwise you only do your own body worse (I hope that made sense). Faith, that's the order of the day, lots of faith, and i know you have it! Take care of yourself, so you can take care of everyone else, put yourself first. Yes, it was cold outside, we had snow flurries here last night and this morning. Isn't is supposed to be late spring? Where's the sunshine we had this weekend, it needs to come back!! *lots of hugs*

Zak: Yes, I had to get the same type of shoes, too, and I have them which I love, and I have flats for our daughter's wedding which I'll put them in, also, I just can't wear heels, never have, just don't like them at all. YAY about your lizard, so glad to hear it I hope the stones are gone, keeping Sierra in my prayers, too.

Ques: I'm always glad when I make someone laugh, or smile..what a huge compliment, thank you! Naw, I don't think that's dating you at all!! I have great memories of my Dad, he only passed 3 years ago so it wasn't that long ago, and he was the type of guy you never forget. He loved to joke around, to tease, I mean he was amazing, and I know that he's up there having the time of his life, waiting for the rest of us to arrive and play the biggest joke on us he could come up with..or to just jump out of a closet (something he always did here at home all the time). He was wonderful, and he was my very best friend...heck he was a best friend to everyone.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday and enjoys the rest of the week, I'm going to be really busy and am leaving on Saturday, so won't be back until sometime Sunday. Have a wonderful day.

Ali - you do make me laugh - reminds me of the wit of norma bombek ( is that dating/aging me?) emoticon Sounds like you have very fond memories of your dad! It's great that some of the simple things in life such as flowers can bring a smile to our faces and make us appreciate the people we have been lucky enough to have in our lives.

Zak and 1CrazyDog: the animals in our lives are such an integral part of our families. It is hard not to worry when they are not well and it's obvious you both take great care whether furry or scaly! It is amazing how similar animals are treated when diagnosed with the same issues as us humans and remarkable how successful those treatments can be. I hope that you both experience the wonders of medicine in caring for your much loved pets.

Ah as the late night approaches we are getting nearer to my favorite day of the week ;) Wednesday which brings me two days closer to another weekend emoticon . Hope everyone has a good evening and a greater day tomorrow!

Here's one for you all emoticon

So glad that your lizard is “having her time” and the lethargy is all part of that and skin shedding. Good luck w/Sierra’s follow up check – hope all is clear! Fur babies . . . . love them so much (oh, and those with scales too!)

1 - It is so hard when we think of our little furry (and those not so furry) family members in distress. I so understand how much it scares you to think that something is wrong with Mr. Spot, I'm the same way with our pets. You love them so much and the thought of losing them is terrifying, but as Ali said - we need to think positive. I know it's hard but faith can be a very powerful weapon. Good for you for getting in a walk.

Ali - yes I can take them out of my shoes and put them in others but I was told the best shoes to wear are supportive athletic shoes (and not the cheap ones). So that is pretty much all I wear. For Michael's wedding I wore some flats but that was because it was only for a couple of hours and I was sitting most of the time. I got by today with just a little pain so that was good - but then again I didn't walk around to much today.

Happy news! I was correct about the lizard, it is because it is close to her time for laying eggs - that and she is shedding her skin so a combination of the two can make them lethargic. Friday Sierra goes in for a follow up with her bladder stones. We're suppose to bring in a urine sample and she'll have an xray taken to see if there are any stones left. Hoping all goes well so we can stop the antibiotics and special diet. I hope you all have a great night and a wonderful Wednesday.

Tuesday – well, praying it’s a calmer day. Called the canine cardiologist for Mr. Spot, but no date yet. **SIGH** Just pray that the heart murmur if physiologic rather than a valve problem. At 14 he’d not survive surgery, which is the only “fix” for a malfunctioning heart valve. **SIGH**

At least it was a sunny day yesterday and I did get a walk outdoors but cold (in the 40’s).

So, that’s all the news that’s fit to print (or not) from here.

Listening to the "whoosh" of the murmur just made my heart sink BUT as you say, lots of murmurs can be treated w/meds. So. . . faith . . . that's in order!

Zak: That's what their called, they don't help you...oooohhh...yeah, I don't remember what he said my arch problem was, if that's what happens or what. I can remove mine and put them in other shoes, can you do that with them? Oh I definitely got a lot of exercise Sunday, and it was a great break, I had so much fun with our daughter. *smiling takes all the hugs and gives lots back to you since you sound like you could use them, too. Take care of your foot, you don't need that constant pain, there's nothing the Doctor can tell you other than the ice bottle to stop the pain? That really stinks, I wish I could give suggestions, I don't know what to say, though, I'm so sorry. I hope your pet lizard is alright and it's something minor and easily fixed.

Ques: My strait Jacket helps keep me in line, that's for sure, it's so many pretty colors and the pills they give me...well...they just keep me going day after day after day after dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... Just kidding of course...but I've been enjoying every minute, even though I have been busy. And even thought it's getting colder, I still am enjoying the days as each goes past. Seeing the flowers, the beautiful birds that have been around, I've seen some bluebirds, tree swallows...bluebirds always remind me of my Dad he loved them; makes me not miss him; because it's like a sign he's still around. And the tulips are out and beautiful. have some white and purple ones in the back (on the same tulip). I hope it warms up this weekend, not sure, but maybe.

1: Awww Think positive, always, let's pray that it's something that can be helped with meds, and isn't a major fix. Don't be thinking negative, just roll with it for now. Ok? Don't get yourself worked up, just remember, there's nothing worrying will do to change it, so try to think positive. *hugs* There are many more types of murmur that can be controlled with meds, so you are in the majority when it comes to that, so keep thinking positive, alright? We're here for you. Glad everything else seems to be going well, though.

Will be saying prayers for Spot and Zak's lizard, and for Zak, herself that her foot starts feeling better and she isn't in so much pain. Also for 1's Mom, as always. And for Ques, just because she's such a sweet lady. Oh heck, I'll just say prayers for everyone, and hope you all have a wonderful day. Hugs for all. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Ques - yeah there's just something about going into the basement to ride it, but unfortunately there is no where else to put it.

1 - Mr. Spot is in my prayers, hoping it's something that can be controlled with medicine. We are heading to Green Bay tomorrow for a vet appointment for our lizard. She isn't acting right. Hoping it's just a calcium deficiency and/or her time of the year (when she lays her eggs). I will keep Mr. Spot and your family in my prayers.

My right foot has been bugging me since Friday, earlier today I stepped on it and thought I was going to scream - it hurt so bad. It sucks because it isn't a constant pain, you never know when it's going to hurt. I hope you all have a great rest of the day!

Monday – yesterday was a good day. Today back to Jason’s work routine, so it’ll be a little bit of a long day as we’re up @ 4 pm. But plan to hopefully rest when Mom does in the afternoon.

Mr. Spot goes to see his vet today for a check up. He is not thrilled. How do kids and animals know when something is up!????

Well back from the vet. **SIGH** Like I needed something more on my plate, I have more. Developed a heart murmur. Many different causes for it. The only way to know is an ultrasound of the heart. I don’t know when I can get that done for him with the dang schedule I’m having to keep now w/the parents here. BUT I know the signs/symptoms to look for if there’s problems, so I’ll monitor that and in the meantime find a time when I can get him to the canine cardiologist. The biggest issue is if it is due to a heart valve problem. THEN major concerns arise, because usually the only fix for that is surgery, which @ 14, I do not really think he would survive. So praying that is just something that can be handled w/medication, and there are many causes of a heart murmur that ARE controlled w/medication. Prayers. Prayers. MORE prayers.

HUGS

Zak with you on the bike issue! It was getting colder to be outside and I wasn't sure I wanted to go back out for a walk. So I was thinking well I could go to the basement and ride my bike (which is what go me thinking is there anywhere upstairs I could move it to). For whatever reason I don't like to go to the basement to ride I think it seems wrong when it is light outside and I feel like I should be outdoors doing something else. Hope the feet are responding positively to the changes you are making (very frustrating to be doing things to get healthier and instead have your body respond negatively).

Ali and 1CrazyDog - you both have so much going on but you also both sound like you are organized and amazingly keeping it all together! So here is hoping that life allows you those moments in time to not only breath but to enjoy all that Spring has to offer.

Ali - I do have the orthotics in my shoes - had them now for a little over three years. I wear them everywhere! In fact the only shoes I wear are the ones with them in them. I asked my podiatrist why I am so susceptible to flare ups even with all of the precautions I take and he said it could be because I have collapsed arches and he said my weight could be a big contributor. I have to lose the weight it will help in so many ways. I'm just going to have to ride the bike, and when I can afford it get a membership to the Y and start swimming (and maybe water aerobics, I'll have to ask if that's acceptable) I just wish my bike wasn't in the basement - I hate going down there to ride it, but I really don't think there is anywhere else to put it. I'm just going to have to do it.
It sounds like you got plenty of exercise yesterday - good for you. It sounds like it was a nice little break from the craziness. If you give so many emoticon away you need to get some to replenish your stock so here's some for you emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

ZAK: AHHHHHH a month and half...NOOOOOO *scramble to make sure I have everything, then realizes how much is left to do...NOOOOOO (J/K hahahahaha) I couldn't resist. I'm doing pretty good, part excited, part frantic, part just normal insanity. But I'm enjoying it. We're really glad you agreed to help us out, you've been such a big help already, and I'm so happy you agreed to become a leader, thank you, again. Wow, you're getting offered positions all over, that's fantastic, just do what you feel is right for you, and no matter what you decide with TOPS, we're behind you all the way. emoticon and always proud of you!

ZAK, has the doctor mentioned anything like inserts for your shoes, because I have some and it has helped tremendously. I have no more pain at all, and I was having all sorts in my feet, the backs of my legs, my lower back, and I have absolutely NONE anywhere. They have been absolutely a Godsend. The insurance pays for them and trust me, they are sooooo wonderful, I couldn't do without them anymore. Ask about them, no kidding, my feet, especially the middle of my foot and the heels, hurt, and the heel on one, and the *thinking* the "knuckle of the big toe* (can't think of what it's called) hurt so bad!, and I've never had pain in them since. You should ask about them. I've had them for over a year now, and they specially fit them for your feet, and wow...what a difference. It helps your feet, but also your calves, hips, back..everything feels so much better. (yes, old people inserts, can't think of what the dang things are called, but I don't care, as long as they help.) Most of all YOU'RE NOT A FAILURE AT ALL!! You're body's just in pain, listen to it, it's telling you something is off and needs to be fixed. emoticon

QUES: then you'll get all the hugs you deserve and need from me because I always have an endless supply! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon always!! emoticon

1: You are absolutely right, we do need a "breathe" icon, that'd be so overused in here it's not funny..think we can request and get one? emoticon

I was at the Midwest Horse Fair with our daughter yesterday and had such a wonderful time, got my exercise in, thats for sure, when you walk nearly a mile just to get from your car to the Alliant Energy Center, nearly at a half run, then walking constantly to look at everything, I'm telling you, a LOT of people, zig-zagging through crowds, you are getting exercise, never let anyone tell you different; then up and down stairs galore. Yep, I definitely got more exercise than I get during my ordinary exercise routine, but it was a great day and I loved it! I enjoyed my day off from the normal hustle and bustle, hope you all had a wonderful day, too and will have a great rest of the weekend.

Whining? NO . . . . you're telling us about the challenge you're facing! Who wouldn't! Yes, I have heard of the iced water bottle. Forgot about that. Probably the most soothing, I'd think.

1 - yes he suggested icing after every exercise session (walk, dvd, etc...) which I do. I roll it on a frozen water bottle. I also do some of the exercises that my PT taught me during my last flare up. I also bought a foam roller to use but it is difficult for me to use. It's just so frustrating...I start to get on a roll with exercising and than my feet start to hurt. I'm just going to have to resolve myself to riding my stationary bike, at least for now. I know losing weight will help my feet so maybe I need to just do the bike until I lose some more weight. I like riding and this will help me to ride more outside. Sorry, I feel like I'm whining. I have options I just need to be open to them. Again, sorry for whining/venting.

First of all, did the Dr. prescribe/recommend anything you could do at home to stretch your foot? I use a tennis ball and roll my foot on it. Sometimes icing it helps, too. If you don't feel like you could do the classes, which is understandable, then for now, that's what you need to do. That's not YOUR failure, that's you listening to your body.

Good luck, Zak.

I thought I posted a message earlier but it's not here. Attack of the message chomper.

1 - I hope the transition to your home will be an easy (at least an easier) one. Good job on getting a walk in.

Ques - it is interesting, that even if you're "skinny/healthy" you still get cravings. I am hoping that by the time I get to that size I'll have plenty of experience with dealing with them in a positive way.

So I am a little frustrated. Last week I went for a walk on Friday (after having class on Thursday), I woke up Saturday with the familiar twinge of plantar fasciitis. So I didn't go to class Monday and made an appt. with my podiatrist. He said I could keep at it but I would need to halve it. I didn't go to class on Thursday because I was unable to get in contact with the leader of the class. I finally did and she said we'd figure it out. Feeling good I went for a walk yesterday, woke up today with pain in both feet. The pain in my left foot has pretty much subsided but the pain is still there in my right foot. I don't know what to do, should I continue with the class or not? I don't want to feel like a failure but I also don't want to push my body to the point of being in severe pain either. What do you ladies think?

Saturday – Well, today’s the day! Ready – got a good walk in this morning.

Ali: Yes, I hope the meltdowns are few and far between. I think it’s frustration for her not to be w/Dad. She just doesn’t understand when Dad leaves.

Zak: HUGS for joining leadership! Sooooooo appreciated.

Ali: Think there needs to be a BREATHE icon. We all seem to need it!

Hugs and have a good weekend, be safe.

Hey Ali - I appreciate all the hugs I can get emoticon

1CrazyDog - just thinking where is your mom in time and place - does it fit with when she has been to your house (this is why I was thinking pics). Meltdowns are so tough on everyone and very stressful for your mom - sorry she is going this experience that must be pretty scary for her - all the changes in such a short time. Will really be good for her to get settled with family that loves her and can support both mom and dad. I hope the trip is more of a fond memory of maybe when she and your dad took Sunday drives...

Zak - way to go at the sale! Will be interested to hear what you think of the meditation book - I bet this goes hand in hand with the running - you know when you eventually find 'the zone' with any exercise routine (sometimes easier said than done ;).

We had an interesting discussion today at work when one of my coworkers brought lunch in from a restaurant and the size could easily feed 5 verse one. Was surprised which of my coworkers were able to take a bite and say that one bite was enough for them and which ones just wanted to keep eating. Just goes to show that cravings exist whether you are at a healthy weight and work out consistently or a work in progress.

Have a great weekend - hope we all get to see some sunshine this weekend.

1 - I'm glad to hear you were able to calm your Mom down. I can't imagine being in her situation, it must be so hard for her (and of course your family) I don't think I've ever had rum cake before...I think I may need to try it.

Ali - No problem, anything I can do to help. Just think only ("only") another month and a half and life will calm down at least a little bit.

Ques - I really like your idea for 1's Mom, very creative.

Thank you everyone for the congratulations. I have come to depend on our little team and I am happy to help if I can.
Today I went to a used book sale, which along with that they had a bake sale. After casually (it was to cramped to really be able to look real good) looking through the books (bought a cookbook, a fiction book, and a daily meditation book) I came out and went to look at the baked goods - I walked around looking at everything but walked out with nothing. emoticon
Yesterday was my TOPS meeting, our secretary is leaving to another group that fits into her schedule better. She told me that her and our leader were discussing who could replace her and they decided on me. The leader wasn't there yesterday so I don't know for sure, or if it's true if I want to accept the position or not. Although I have already started thinking of how to develop a template for taking the notes, so I am thinking I probably would. I hope you all have a great night and a blessed tomorrow.

1-So sorry to hear about your Mom's meltdown, but glad you got her calmed down. Hope it doesn't happen often. I love Que's idea about taking pics of your Mom's new place to stay to get her used to where it's going to be, what it's going to look like, that's a great idea. *hugs* Good idea to have some food prepared ahead of time. Hmmmm rum cake..good taste, Dad. :)

Ques: you have no idea, seems like I'm always doing something, but at least it's for someone I love (daughter), and you're right, I'm already wondering that. *Laugh & hugs if you allow it*

Zak: Thank you again, so much for stepping up, we all appreciate it so much more than you'll ever know. *hugs*

Wow...got a message today from a "former" Leader....wasn't too nice, but hey...that's what happens when a message gets misconstrued and misunderstood..yes it was partially my fault for typing a quick one on the way out the door, but the "online communication" never comes across as well as the face to face; and that's what occurred here, too. BUT I will not feel guilty over anything. Nothing can change it now, what's done is done...you live with it, and move forward without looking back. We have a great crew here, and it'll continue to be one, right?

Have a great day, everyone, I'm going to be gone tomorrow, have the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, with our daughter, looking forward to our daily fun up there. So see you Sunday, I hope!! Be safe and remember to share a smile! :)

Thursday – Sunny yesterday. So glad to get an outside walk in .

Today will do a little bit of food prep so I’m not inundated with that this weekend. Of course, that means a rum cake for Dad. His favorite!

Enjoying this spring weather this week - always glad when the weekend is here as well.

1CrazyDog - have you taken pics of the new abode for your mom - would allow her to get used to seeing something new since that is where she will be very soon! Not sure which day is move day but hope it goes smooth (a long trip for your mom).

Hey Zak - what a dedication that you are a new team leader - congratulations!

Ali - life sounds like it keeps you hopping - hope those moments when you get a chance to stop and breath keep things on an even keel for you. What exciting times you have going on right now (all too soon you will be wondering how you accomplished it all)

Thursday – well Mom had a meltdown last night but got her calmed down (she was totally confused).

Good day otherwise. Lots done.

1: Thank you, I am really trying, so much going on. The meeting Monday went well, met with daughter's future Mother in law and that was wonderful, she's so sweet, on Tuesday, yesterday spent the day trying on the dress (looks horrible on me, but hey, what can you say. The photos are always with those little tiny women instead of people my size..so it'll never look good on someone like me *L* but, hey, I LOVE The color. I got the cape to wear on my shoulders, but *wrinkles nose* I think I'll go without it..I look like my Mom in the picture, she wore one at my wedding eons ago, and I don't want that. There is another that came with it which is open in front, so I think I'll just put that on instead. Nothing wrong with my mom, but I just don't like it, no matter how much the woman said "oh it looks so nice on you". Ummmm..no. I hope your Mom continues to heal quickly, and they get moved easily. Every bit you get done, no matter how big or small, is more off your mind. Wonderful news on your Mom realizing she's moving up there, I'll bet that makes her happy, too. *hugs*

WildRose: good luck to your Mother-in-law, I'll keep her in my prayers, things will work out for the best, always think that. You'll be in my prayers, too, as will your MiL.

Zak: That is wonderful news, I'm so glad you're doing the journaling, FANTASTIC, I knew you could do it!! I sat down and watched my favorite show last night, that's a BIG PLUS (Supernatural). Thank you, again, that's another relief to me. *hugs* I'll say why in a little bit, to EVERYONE> :) HUGS! and BIG YAY on the 4.8 pounds, see it does help, I knew you could do it, I'm SO PROUD OF YOU!! Yes, that will help, believe in yourself, like we believe in you, and you will get there, little steps at a time!

Ques: I hope you have a wonderful day today, it's so beautiful out, how can we not!! Love the flowers, we don't have any here yet, but soon! :) Hugs to you, too!!

1 - I am so excited for you, for having your family with you. I don't blame you hiring a mover to move your treadmill - those things are really heavy!

I had a 4.8 pound release at Weight Watchers last night. Yep tracking what you eat definitely helps. I'm also more active now to so that helps a bit too. I just plan on doing more of the same this next week. I'm also adapting a new idea. Chris Powell (Extreme Weight Loss) says that one of the most important things you can do to lose weight is to make (and keep) small promises to yourself. For instance, I promise to ride my bike for at least 20 minutes, or I promise to not eat junk food today. I started yesterday; I made a nutritional promise and an activity promise and I kept them both. He says that keeping your promises to yourself will help you lose weight by taking the small steps needed to make big changes. I always catch myself thinking about the "big" picture, or even the "small" picture of 10 pounds, but with this it is literally just thinking about that one day and what I can do in that one day to make a difference. I am hoping this will help. Have a great day!

Ques: Yes, I found the irony in hump day and tax day! We bust our hump to ear a living and pay taxes! Hey, grateful that DH has a job!

HUGS and let's hope it's a good Wednesday.

Wednesday – well the mover is coming to get the treadmill; upstairs. Got part of it myself, but the tread part is heavy as heck.

Mom seems to be realizing she’s coming up here once in awhile. That’s good.

Nice day so getting an outdoor walk in.

Ali - been journaling pretty regularly again now...and yep it definitely helps. I hope everything comes together for you and you are able to get in at least a little relaxation!

1 - I am glad you came up with a plan that'll work for you and your parents. It is stressful reorganizing everything, but it will work out in the end. Happy you'll be so close to your family - but like you said to Ali - breathe. emoticon

Not much going on today, I hope everyone is enjoying the weather - it is absolutely beautiful out today (especially now that the wind has died down a bit).

Tuesday – Had nice weather yesterday. Enjoying the return of Springs. There are daffodils and jonquils coming up!!! So nice to see those splashes of color.

Pretty well have the bedrooms set now, so that’s a huge relief. Lots of little last minute things that will have to be moved, but that’s all right.

Thanks. I'll let you know. Right now just trying to get done what can be done so it's LESS stressful. NO way around the stress but it'll all work out . . . for both of us.

Hello,

I definitely feel for you. My mother-on-law is having a hip replacement the end of the month and we are exploring her options...one of which is for her to recover with us. It too would involve major changes in our home. I am eagerly waiting to hear how things work for you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ques: Yep, Ques, we have to be proud of our fans, compared to other schools, that's for sure. :)

1: YAY your mom is healed, that's wonderful news and she's walking with her walker, that's great..and moving already, that is such a relief for you!! Glad you got things organized. Aren't they staying in the place near your home or did I miss something while I was gone. Yikes again.

Zak, (going way ack) Not sure what to say about your eating, maybe associate it with your activity, that'a a tough one, for me it's easy, I learned from (like 1) when I was 18, I HAD to keep track of what I was eating, I have Type 1 Diabetes (Juvenile Onset), so I had no choice. Write down everything I eat, but on here it's easier, I just type it in the Nutrition area, and it tells me how many carbs I have left to eat, and I'm good to go. Have you tried using that, it may work for you. Awww poor Sierra

Hi, Jodrox, I hope you recover soon, shoulders aren't fun to hurt, just make sure you do move it. I ended up with two frozen shoulders, and that's far worse. Just move it a little so you don't end up with that, too. It's not good, and I still have problems. But listen to your doctor, too. Whoa, was that confusing or what?

I know one here already knows where I've been that I've been gone, but here goes:

Wednesday I spent the day helping daughter/fiancee write out wedding invites and then went with them and my husband to Madison to get sized up for tux's, then back to Evansville, ate, and then home to finish the invites.

Thursday did a bunch more invites, this time for the shower, and I now forgot what else I did...OH look for shoes...I think it was.

Friday, spent all day in town getting tons more stuff for the wedding, and then grocery shopping and then a wedding reception that night.

Saturday, more wedding shopping and church, then out to eat with my Mom, nephew, husband, and sister.

Sunday, up to Madison again to get son fitted for his suit, and then looking for my "undergarments", of which I found only 1, for the wedding, and back again.

I swear, I'm never stopping; then this week I have to go to town today to find the rest of my "undergarments" I couldn't find last week or yesterday.. and then to a CAMDEN Accessible Playground meeting and conference call to New York.

Tuesday I have daughter's mother in law coming over to look at all the wedding items here;

Wednesday I have a meeting in Janesville for my dress fitting.

Friday I have grocery shoppin

Saturday, I have the Midwest Horse Fair with daughter.

*faints because I have Thursday free*

Just leave me here, It's probably the only rest I'll be able to get for a while.. *S*

QUES: Yes, definitely getting information on Home Health -- already have contact, but won't put I in place till I know Mom's exact needs. That's fine. We'll handle it for. But definitely onto the realization that help WILL be required. Have to get Dad "there" too!

Sunday – got lots moved yesterday for Mom and dad to have some space. More to do today, so getting my steps in.

Monday – got the beds from upstairs down to what will be Jason and my room; got the treadmill moved out of that room. Have to have a mover move it upstairs – too heavy; got closet space emptied; tossed LOTS. PHEW

1CrazyDog: What an emotional upheaval on so many levels, sure it will feel good to see your parents on a daily basis and be able to keep track of both of them without a long drive to IL.
What great news that your mom healed so well - are you thinking of home health as a support service once the move is completed?
What a lot you have going on; de-cluttering definitely gives a sense of freedom letting go of things that aren't really necessary in our lives. Remember to take care of yourselves - sometimes the caregivers need to be cared for as they get exhausted from all they doing for their loved ones.

Hi! Guess I haven't visited the chat in a couple of days. Been so busy getting things ready for Mom and Dad. They are going to be staying with us. Mom had seen the surgeon and he said the hip is 100% healed and she can put her weight on it now. So she's doing walker walking and they should be ready to come up on Saturday next week.

Had to move beds downstairs for Jason and I as Mom and Dad will take our room. Had to haul clothes to where we'll be able to get at 'em w/o disturbing Mom and Dad. So, also went thru lots of things and de-cluttered.

PHEW

HUGS and here's to a good week.

Ahh tax time - I guess that should be next years goal: to complete taxes in the month of March not April ;) otherwise I would be out enjoying the semi cool but sunny day (not sitting inside waiting to get a question answered online!)

Ques - the stones were actually pretty large - a little bigger than a pencil eraser. Took her in Friday and the vet said he can only feel one stone left. Thank goodness, but he wants to keep her on the food and antibiotics for another two weeks just to make sure we clear it all up.

I am loving the beautiful weather we are having...we made it up to 60 so far today. Yea! I hope you all are having a great weekend.

Rainy rainy day and I can't believe Jodrox that you woke to snow - not a fun site in April, hope that it really does get as warm as predicted this weekend. Good idea to give your shoulder a rest - are you icing - hope it heals quickly and you are back to running soon.

Zak - it's amazing that you actually saw the stones - that would definitely put a damper on any puppy! As we all know food changes are not easy and assume the same could be said for animals?

Hope we are all able to get out and enjoy some warm weather this weekend and thankful that the tornadoes did not cross the border into WI.

Ques - Thanks...it is paying off, I just hope I stick with it this time! I think I will.

Jodrox - Sorry to hear about your fall, I hope your shoulder heals up quickly. Good luck tomorrow with your 5K...I think tending to your shoulder would be wise - you don't want to make it worse.

I don't know if I told you guys but Sierra has been sick. About a month ago she was acting real listless, just not herself. We took her in and they said it was a GI infection, gave her some antibiotics and other meds and sent her home. Well that evening she was worse than earlier, she wouldn't drink anything and she barely moved - we called the emergency number in Green Bay and they thought we should bring her in (because dogs get dehydrated very easily). She gets car sick and we were talking about taking her (it's an hour drive) when all of a sudden a rush of fluid came out and there were three stones! She has a bladder full of stones. She's been on a special diet for the last two weeks (which she hates) and today we take her in to see if it is working. Please keep her in your thoughts today!

Good Friday morning! Woke up to snow on the ground, and it's supposed to be 70 tomorrow?! Crazy Wisconsin weather!

I'm recovering from a fall I took 2 days ago............... Hurt my shoulder, but nothing is broken, just painful. I signed up for a run tomorrow, but.... well, I don't believe that's going to happen now. I need to pamper my shoulder. So I may walk it instead. It's a 5K.

So glad it's almost the weekend!
