With you on the laid back Monday - visited the local gardens and we couldn't have had a better day! Beautiful flowers, weather and got my walking for the day pushing a wheel chair up and down the rolling paths.

Safe travels for all of you that will be on the road this week, enjoy yourselves. Sounds like all of you are doing some smart preparations for food and activities - have fun.

Lots of kids headed to school on Tuesday, so for all of us on the road be ready for the school crossings, corner bus stops and all those yellow school buses on the road.

Have a great Sep 1st.

1: Wow, we didn't get any rain yesterday, but we were so busy, I probably wouldn't have noticed. *hides from your eyes, laughing of course.~ I so love your attitude, keep it up, and it's about time you got a "laid back" day!

MPotter: that stuffed tomatoe meal sounds delicious, we've got fresh tomatoes, I'll have to try it, yum! And hey, as long as the gain is slowed, you're starting in the right direction, keep up the good work. I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip, sounds like so much fun! Way to plan your meals ahead of time (fruit, etc), that's excellent and will help you out a lot! Great job!

Dewaddic: Hi Jessica, good to see you here! Join in, in any way you want, everyone is welcome!

Zak: Way to go, glad you had your baby as inspiration to get you going on a second walk, that's wonderful. I'm so happy for you, way to go!!

Ques: No, the intern/associate, whatever they call her, when I asked about exercise, she told me I could start out, but nothing really tough (like my intervals) at least for now, because I had to allow the heart muscles to heal fully. So I asked about doing this, and she said that was fine. :)

Hi, Zak: Thank you, I'm not an expert at yoga, I just started but the ones I'm using are chair yoga for all levels by Chopra Center. I found it on youtube. I've been enjoying it, though. if you look it up on youtube and even on SP, you can find lots of videos, I guess you try them and choose which is best for you. :) Good luck!

We're heading to the trailer on Thursday, and I was supposed to vacuum the pool today (well, our son was) and got behind. I've been making little candles, experiementing, the tea candles, I think they're called. I wanted to make one for each of my great grand nieces and nephews, too. Put their initials on the front of the glass, and make them tri-color. Not doing too bad so far, but it's slow, that's for sure. Got 2 layers done for candles for our Daughter, I wanted to use her for the experiement *LOL* But they are turning out great.

Have a great Monday, hopefully see you tomorrow!

Monday – laid back kinda day yesterday which I think we all needed. Ready to tackle the week.

Motivated to make this a good day!

Ques: LOVE roasted tomatoes. Delish.

Have a wonderful time with your Mom there.

I rely on the Spark nutrition tracker too. Just not good enough @ the “eyeball method.”

Ali: We have our eyes on you! LOL

MPOTTER: Hope it’s a good Monday.

A busy weekend for all it sounds like; made a round trip to bring mom home for a couple of weeks, so a lot of driving in 24 hours. Well worth it!

Spent part of our evening roasting tomatoes from the garden with fresh herbs, onions, garlic and shallots. Pans are cooling on the porch and soon to go into the frig then freezer tomorrow. Gives me a good base for anything tomato and all with the benefit of no salt or sugar but tons of flavor and lycopene from those roasted tomatoes.

Zak - so glad you are finding writing food down a positive. For me the best is still to use SP nutrition tracker. Only relied on my brain when internet wasn't available and yep it would have been smarter to just write it on paper. Hope your feet were ok after the second walk with your 'puppy'.

1CrazyDog - was really thinking about you after you posted what a rough day your mom had last week. Caregiving can be times of joy and times of stress and sadness - sorry your mom had such a rough experience and glad that she is having a better weekend.

Ali - you just keep trying to push those boundaries - intervals? Are you on a cardiac prescribed walking routine? Please continue to take care of yourself and glad you are checking with your healthcare providers prior to just jumping into a new routine.

MPotter - Car travel - I think one of the biggest challenges - great idea to have your fruit and veggies pre packed. Easy to grab a bag of something that is ready so you avoid the not so healthy snacks (and all that junk that is at the gas station now a days). My mom was amazed how much plain tea I could drink in the car and not have to stop for bathroom breaks (it is my alternative to soda).

Monday, our last day of September and it is finally warming up again. Have a great one.

Jessica - Hello!

1 - I am glad you had lots of laughs with dinner.

M - Good luck on your trip, I hope you remember to pack everything. I usually forget something or other - it never fails *L*.

Today we went to the store and I decided to walk home (it's only about .7 of a mile) but I was proud of myself. Then I told Frank that I wanted to go for another walk (but because of my feet was afraid to) and Sierra heard me and got excited, so I ended up going for another one. Can't disappoint my baby emoticon I hope you all have a great start to the week.

I loved my stuffed tomato meal and plan on mixing more up for lunch. I have two tomatoes left, so all I needed was to pick up another can of tuna while we were out yesterday!

I finally weighed myself this morning after three weeks. Don't seem to be home on Sunday mornings much for weigh in with all my busy weekends! I gained three pounds. 1 pound a week doesn't seem all that bad. I must be making good choices most of the time...Lol

Finishing up preparations today to get ready for our Vermont vacation. We leave Friday morning. I will be making lists of everything that needs to be packed, along with drinks and snacks to pack into the cooler. That way I can still have my fruit :)

Hoping to find some other quick meals this week that don't take a lot of planning. I really don't want to buy a lot groceries since we leave Friday. We will have to do some searching later today.

Zak: good to see you stopped by. Hope you get to your aerobics class.

Not such a good day outside today, so lots of indoor activity. That's all right . . . . just as long as I keep moving!

I can't mentally track either. I am better off entering the information here. Then I won't forget!

Have a great weekend, ladies.

Ali - Good for you getting back into your exercise routine. I am interested in trying yoga but I have yet to find a dvd I like. Do you have any recommendations?

1 - Happy to hear your Mom had a better day. I love being up in the morning to see the sunrise, so peaceful and beautiful. I agree with Ali - the cape looks good on you (smiling).

M - I can kind of understand the issue of cooking for one. My boyfriend doesn't always cook the healthiest (in fact not real often), so I usually end up making something for myself. It gets hard because you fall into the trap of eating the same thing over and over again. But I just ordered some cookbooks off of ebay and I am hoping that'll help.

Ques - I have a hard time mentally tracking, I usually end up forgetting something (I have a horrible memory) so I've been writing down what I've been eating - every bite and it seems to be helping. I'm able to look back and see what I did that worked and that helps me out a lot. I am hoping that this habit sticks this time, it's been a little over three weeks so I'm hoping.

Not much going on, just wanted to stop by and say hi and see how everyone is doing. I have been getting a little more active. Was planning on taking some water aerobics classes but didn't get to them last week, hoping to this week. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

MPOTTER: Mmmmm that sounds delicious. I wish I could get my husband to eat things like that, especially when we have tons of fresh tomatoes from the garden. He likes his usual "man meals", so I eat the veggies, and good things and let him have the rest. He refuses to change his ways.

1: Oh I know, I love the Yoga, and the walking isn't too bad, today, slowly getting back into it. I want to call the doc and see if it's alright to start on the interval exercises, I hope it is, heck it's been long enough, I think. Thank you so much for the encouragement, I love it. *hugs* Wow, you saw the sunrise? That has to be amazing, it is so peaceful and quiet during that time of day..and the beauty of the sunrise...amazing. Sorry about your Mom, but glad you got her settled down. *hugs to both* But so glad today is better for you, especially with the humor. That is so wonderful, I'm so happy for you both. Glad to hear you heard from John, too and that he's doing well. You had a great day all around, it sounds like, today, so despite the rain, YAY for Saturday!!

I'm cleaning the house, trying to get some slider things on the bottom of the sofa legs, but need my son's help as the couch is heavy, but I'll get it done.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and remember those smiles!

Saturday – Rainy day from the afternoon onward. Supposed to lighten up this afternoon. Good thing1

Mom had a much better day today. Very confused today, but in a pleasant mood, so THAT is a huge improvement from Thursday. Even had flashes of being humorous! That is like the old her.

John called and is doing well. He does call but not too frequently as so busy. He is happy and sounds like he’s doing well. That’s all I need to know.

Friday – thank goodness! Yesterday was a difficult day for Mom. She was just so very confused and actually thought I was not alive. Don’t know where this came from, but finally got her settled down.

So, today started with a walk. A good thing. Nothing like a walk @ zero dark thirty. LOL But saw the sunrise. That’s a treat.

MPOTTER: Glad the afternoon was better. The tuna stuffed tomato is right up my alley!

Ques: Good for you for making that walking date. ACCOUTABILITY! You WIN!

Ali: Good for you for doing your walking exercise video. A step at-a-time, a day-at-a-time. KUDOS on the yoga. So good for body and spirit!

Yup, walking will surely warm you up!

Made a tuna stuffed tomato tonight with lots of steamed veggies for dinner. It was wonderful :) I'l be doing more research this weekend for some other ideas. Just too tired to mess with a big meal.

1: The cape looks great on you! I tried my "walking" exercise video, it went alright, got a little tired but not bad, so I may try it again tomorrow. Going to do the yoga again later, I'm going to try to do one in the morning and one in the afternoon (the walking one in the morning, the yoga in the afternoon). I noticed how relaxing the yoga ones are, I loved it!

Ques: That's what I've heard, I love how I felt after doing it, I wish I'd started them before. ;) Incentive, Ques? Do it for your health! Trust me, that's the best reason to walk, no matter the weather, I found that out and that's why I'm continuing to do it, now that I've gotten the ok. Besides, if it's "too cold", walking will warm you up. *L*

MPotter: Glad to hear you're doing some tracking, what great news! I love grilled chicken, it's the only way we make ours, and steamed veggies..mmmmmm.. add some seasoning if you want to add more flavor, but I just eat mine plain. Especially fresh from the garden. Had some carrots yesterday, along with some cherry tomatoes. I love those things, good thing, too, two plants have gone crazy this year!

Hope you all have a wonderful day, may take a ride into the hospital tonight, I have a new grand-niece born today by cesarian, but I'm waiting until everyone leaves the hospital.

So have a great day, everyone, and don't forget to share a smile!

I do the same thing - put chicken breasts into a bag with some marinade then freeze - never had an issue (no dairy marinades) and it saves me time. I figure the marinade is seeping in as they thaw. I will take 1-2 pieces out in the am, thaw in frig and can grill that evening or next day. Wish you well on your journey.

My perspective change - went walking with a friend this evening and it was a great. Same temps as the past two nights that I couldn't convince myself to go out and walk cause it was 'too cold for august'. Knew on Monday night I needed some motivation so made a 'walking date' for tonight with a friend - sometimes you (or me in this case) just need a little motivation to get moving. Gives me incentive for Thursday, even if its still in the 50's or 60's.

Have a great Thursday - YEAH that means only two days till the weekend.

Had a better afternoon, and did some tracking today. I feel much better and accountable too! Making an omelet with hash browns for dinner. Will look closer at some recipes this weekend to alter for 1 serving dishes. Was thinking of marinating some chicken breast and then freezing, but not sure if the marinade will keep??? Then I could grill one breast on the George Foreman for a quick easy meal with steamed veggies.

OH my gosh. Yes, I love to "morph" rotisserie chicken into several different meals.

I'll make tacos, chicken soup, chicken salad, hot chicken sandwiches. All depends on the mood. Of course, usually one meal, as you say, is devoted to a chicken dinner. Then the "morphs".

I agree with the paring down of recipes as I more often than not cook for 1-2. Usually will plan on dinner and one lunch then convert the 'meat' to something else. This week bought a rotisserie chicken - dinner and lunch just as chicken then tonight made a salad with fresh veggies and chicken. I get bored with food so probably tomorrow either mexican with the chicken or use in a nappa cabbage salad. If I just can't finish it off - in the freezer until I am ready to make a soup that has chicken in it.

I tried mental tallying of food last week when I was offline (hadn't had this issue prior years so not happy that I couldn't track). Worked as far as letting me know approximate calories. I probably should have written the food down as I do think for me, calories aside, it just makes me realize more of how much food I am really eating.. Hope you find a plan that you feel comfortable with while offline and that you are able to keep yourself on track with your plans.

Ali - yoga has such phenomenal benefits glad to hear you are able to incorporate into your rehab routine.

Yeah - Wed is almost here, have a great one.

I had a great time visiting with friends and family over the weekend. Now, I am starting plans and preparations for our drive out to Vermont. It's only 10 days away!

Due to this, I am not tracking. This is not healthy for me at all! But it is so hard to cook for one. I am getting bored with my normal dinner choices. Any ideas?

1: *LOL* that's what I thought, best to just not do the post office part of it. Yep, definitely Superwoman grade fighter, that's for sure. *hugs you bunches* yes, I'm taking care of myself, best I can. I've restarted my exercises using Yoga as a part of it now, along with cardiac exercises, so it's going well. Thank you for letting your cousin know, I hope things start going better for all of you, you deserve it. In the meantime...just put this on and know who you are!! Or what you are. :D

Ques: Hi there, my rehab is going well, like I mentioned to 1, I've started doing my exercises, only a different version of them, including yoga, so it's going great! I'm so glad you're getting your family to join in with the more healthy food and walking with you and such. That's wonderful, I'm so happy for you!

Hope everyone else is smiling through this wonderful week and finding someone to share that smile with. Have a great Tuesday!

Tuesday – busy day. Have to go to the dentist to start off the day. Should just be a short visit I hope!

Otherwise, want to get Mom out for a little while today, so will get that done after I return from the dentist.

Hope it’s a good Tuesday, everyone!

Ques: Hope your camping was fun!

I worked in home health – including Hospice, so yes, it is a wonderful help for families.

Good evening,

Tried to scan back a ways to catch up on a weeks plus of comments - was offline while camping and hadn't expected that internet access was not going to be available. Had a great time fishing and since it was cooler than normal the fish seemed to be biting a lot this past week.
My family was trying to support my eating healthier and was a hoot when we made fish taco's for our uncle. He was game but you could tell he would have preferred deep fried verse grilled. We did walk every day - was probably up the earliest of any vacation ever to get my family out walking the trails (a lot less bugs biting in the am verse pm).

1CrazyDog - sorry to hear of your aunts dx and it is such a personal choice at any age to decide what treatment course or lack of treatment is the right one. Hope that she is able to see a positive outcome with palliative treatments. Agree with the discussion of the positives of hospice and all of the options that are offered that people are frequently unaware that is available through hospice care.

Zak - so proud of you that you are making such positive changes in your life - what an exciting feeling to see those changes in numbers and I am sure in other ways physically. All your stretching in the pool may be keeping those aches and pains to a minimum while doing your rehab.

Ali - always good to hear life is going well for you - wondering how your rehab is coming along?

Rhonda - was very fun to attend state fair a few weeks ago - brings back fond memories. Do you have to attend every day with your responsibilities?

Good to be back with a support system - makes it easier to make smarter choices!
Have a great Tuesday,
Ques

My dear Ali: Laughed myself silly. No, doubtful that the Post Office would know where "1, Wisconsin" was located. They barely get my mail delivery right as it is! LOLOL

You're right that what doesn't kill you will make you stronger. Boy, I could take on Superwoman I guess!

It really is hard to deal with when you have a chronic illness after being healthy all your life. I cannot say that has been my experience healthwise, but I understand how difficult it is for Mom. And Dad's not used to her being ill either.

I will definitely let my cousin know that her MOm is prayed for. It is just so very sad. That's all I can say.

HUGS HUGS HUGS and hope you're taking good care of precious YOU!

1: *Just hugs bunches, reading the post after the poem I'd posted* I thought of you when I saw it and had to post it for you. I was tempted to print it off and send it to you framed, but then I thought..heck, I doubt the Post Office would know where 1, Wisconsin is located (for the addy) *L* You've had a lot going on, as they say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger...you must be superwoman by now. Wear that suit proudly!! *hugs again* YAY for new loungers..I'm so glad your Dad loves his, that's fantastic. I'm so sorry to hear of your Aunt's diagnosis. My Dad's brain cancer (Stage 4) was found at 81, you know they live for so long, healthy (my Dad did) and then to get cancer. It's so hard. But we have to be strong..for them. *hugs* Please let your cousin know lots of prayers are going up for her Mom and the family.

Good grief, woman, you have an exciting life: seizure and insulin reaction at the same time. I've had epileptic seizures and I've had low blood sugars, but separately (yep, I have both) thank goodness. The best thing for an insulin reaction is Milk, but who the heck carries milk around. You know why? Milk will bring the blood sugar up and it won't drop after because of the carbs. PLUS you don't have to eat anything after drinking milk, like you do with drinking OJ. OJ will bring the blood sugar up, but it will drop within 15-20 mins if you don't eat something. Having Type 1 Diabetes since 1975, you learn a lot *LOL* Love how you knew exactly what to do for the woman with the seizure, great job...there's that superhero at work again.

Zak: Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. Yes, we had a great time, they have a beautiful house. It's their first home and it is gorgeous, I'm so happy for them. Our son stayed until 6pm (he was going to leave at 3,) but he and the couple are such good friends, it was hard to leave. They even had told him at one time he could stay in the basement of any house they built, well they're bedroom is in the basement, so they said (when we were up there) he could have the upstairs, and he was all for that. It has the kitchen, living room, deck, 3 bedrooms, and is just beautiful. I swear, Scott (our son) and Mike are twins separated at birth; with their personalities and how they look, physically (both are about 6'3, thin, and just act identical. It's funny. Mike and Nicole's family both adopted Scott at their wedding, and we've adopted Mike and Nicole, so they fit in perfectly. Just found out that Nicole's mom just moved to Belvidere (where our daughter shows her ponies at the Boone County Fair) so there's talk of them coming to the fair if they're able with her mom and watching Brande show next year. That'd be amazing. We had a great time.

YAYYYY for making the 200's I knew you would do it!!! GREAT JOB!! Good luck with your plan, You can do this!

Rhonda: You're very welcome :) I love people like you who are willing to help others less fortunate; I guess having a nephew with special needs makes a person more compassionate, maybe? It gives us all a new outlook on life. Glad you got rain, our daughter used to take photography, our son did, too, and loved it. I love that idea of the most improved ribbon, I hope that idea spreads. Great way to lose weight, too, the Fair! Have fun.

Rhonda and Zak: good morning! Rhonda -- have a great time @ the fair!

Zak: Hope it's a good Monday!

Monday - I can’t say that my life is NEVER dull or boring. Went to Wal Mart w/my parents yesterday. Jason and Clara went in Jason’s car and I went with Mom and Dad. We did our shopping and were heading to the respective cars when Jason shouted for me. Holy Katzenjammer Kids . . . . I thought something happened to Clara!

As it turned out, there was a black woman, probably about 55, who was actively seizing and not responsive. She’d hit 3 cars and narrowly missed some pedestrians. OMG! When I got to the car, she was actively seizing, warm to the touch and an irregular heart beat, but she was breathing. I had someone get security from Wal Mart and call 9-1-1. I stayed w/the lady to make sure that she kept breathing till the parameds arrived. Took them about 4 minutes. Meanwhile, the passenger in that woman’s car says, “I’m diabetic and feeling poorly.” Oh crud! I didn’t have anything to give her, but was going to run to the Old Country Buffet and get some Coke. FORTUNATELY the parameds arrived quickly, though and could tend to her and the seizing woman. LORD LOVE A DUCK!

But who has more fun than a barrel of drunken monkeys. There’s MORE. Last night as I was about to head to sleep Mom comes to me panicked. “Dad is on the floor and can’t get up.” OH CRAP! Went into the bedroom and Dad was sitting by the side of the bed. He was unhurt but couldn’t get up. Jason and I got him up. We will have to discuss this one today. **SIGH**

So . . . on that note, also noted that the stock market is down 600 points and it’s not even open yet! OMG! Is anyone ready for Tuesday yet!????

1 - I am so sorry to hear the news about your aunt, she will be in my prayers. I hope the chemo helps. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way.

Rhonda - thank you!

Into week six and doing well. I am working towards another loss. I am starting a scheduled activity plan tomorrow. Instead of just doing it when the feeling happens. This is a big step for me...I am taking some water aerobics classes and doing PT two days a week in the pool and two days a week in the rehab center. The PT I have already been doing, now I'm just adding the water aerobics a couple days a week. I am excited to start. The water PT isn't real difficult, more stretches than anything, so I figure I needed more.

Sunday – Found out today that my Aunt Lynn’s liver biopsy confirmed liver cancer, stage 4. This is devastating news. She is choosing to have chemo starting on Monday but the prognosis is grave to say the least. She is 75. It’s so sad. The cancer is inoperable, so that’s why she chose chemo. Spoke with my cousin (her eldest daughter). She's doing pretty well, but is finding it so hard to deal with because she live on the East Coast and my Aunt/Uncle live in IL.

So spent the better part of the morning talking with her daughter, my cousin, who lives in Massachusetts. It is really hard on her being so far away

Otherwise we had a good day. Had to go to the bank and do other chores, and we got it done.

HUGS.

Rhonda: Bless you for caring for that gentleman who had Alz and no family. **SIGH** That is just heart breaking. Mom knows she's loved and cared for and is an integral part of the family (well, so is Dad, too). I worked Hospice for awhile when I did Home Health Care and if that becomes a necessity for Mom I wouldn't hesitate for 2 seconds. It just helps the quality of EVERYONE'S lives.

Yes, Mom and Dad are so thrilled to have their loungers! Hurray!

OK, I guess between the two of us, we've decimated a forest or two for all the Kleenex. **SIGH**

Hugs and smiles for today and every day.

Ali, thank you for the poem!

1 hang in there. that disease is hard. I love to work with people with different abilities (developmentally disabled) We have 2 guys that live with us right now. In Feb, it will be 4 years since our one guy passed away with Alzh. We were able to keep him here at our home until he passed. So he was in his room and in his bed. It was a great thing. He had NO contact with biological family, all he had was his guardian, her family and us. We wanted to make sure he always knew he was loved emoticon . When the time came, Hospice was a life saver for us. I am sooooo happy you are able to help your mom!! You know she is safe and well taken care of!! Thank you for doing that!! Well, I have to stop crying now so I can keep going.

Z, Congrats!! emoticon

1, new chairs can be fun & exciting!

We did get the rain that I was hoping for. The county fair is next week. My husband & I are both superintentants at the fair. He works in the Photography dept & I have 2 small dept--computers and health/social/political science. We have a blast. Judging is FUN!! This year they are starting a new ribbon. We get to give the ribbon, as superintenants, to a youth that we fill has improved. So, we can encourage youth that may not be able to get the trophy for best in dept or merit ribbons but is working very hard. I am very excited about that ribbon. It will be fun!!

Well, I have stopped crying, so I better get my day going. I hope you all have a great day!!! emoticon

So, I hope I got the right names with the right comments, if not, I am sorry!! I think I will just have to get paper out and write down things, so I can get it right. :)

Friday – Well had a surprise quick visit from my brother yesterday. He brought my parents’ loungers and aerdyne exercise bicycle. Dad is in hog heaven. The chairs are much easier for my parents to use. Tossed out my old ones.

Otherwise rainy/drizzly yesterday but found the temps really nice.

Ali - that poem was beautiful. Oooh surprise plans - how exciting! I hope you enjoy yourself.

1 - I have never had someone in my life with Alzheimer's and this poem moved me. Your Mom is very lucky to have a daughter that is there for her. Our parents do so much for us it is a blessing to be able to do for them.

I did it - I made it to the 200's! I am vowing to never end up back in the 300's again. I hope you have a wonderful night and an awesome Friday.

ZAK: Aww, thank you, and yes, I have been, I hope you are able to get to the 200's, think positive, I believe in you!

Rhonda: Wow, you're busy, we had our fair a couple weeks ago, when our kids were in it I helped out a lot with the exhibits, it was so much fun. My kids and I were leaders and did a lot at the fairgrounds in the different areas, including at the actual exhibits, it was a great time. I loved watching how they judged. Our daughter was a cloverbud judge and she enjoyed it. I hope you get rain, we had a couple big storms which we really needed! So glad you got the hay you needed, not like a few years back when it was so scarce around our state.

1: thank you, I'll never forget that, and yes, always have prayers for you, and lots of hugs, too. *HUGS* Remember to take care of yourself, ok?

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week, I'm going to be taking off Saturday, I guess, My husband said something about doing some things tomorrow and then leaving Saturday, but I have no idea of his plans, so hard to tell how much I'll be around tomorrow. :D I'm excited. Have a great rest of the week! HUGS to all!

We are praying for rain today. I sure hope it comes. All the hay we need for the winter was delivered yesterday, so that is nice to have done. Now I just have to put the fence around it and make sure those sheep don't get into it too early. emoticon got lots of good paperwork done.

Now we are getting ready for the county fair next weekend. I help with the 4-H food stand. It is a lot of work, but the kids are well worth it!! I am also a superintentant at the fair too. So I get to work with a judge too. It is a lot of fun.

Well, I guess it is time to get back to work at our store. emoticon

hope you all have a great day!!

HI EVERYONE!!!!

1: Glad you survived the storm, we got a little rain, least we got some, we needed it. YAY that Jason got to come home earlier, hope that happens more often for him..and you! :) thanks for watching me, I think I needed it a few of the days! *L* Sorry to hear that your Mom had a bad day last week, but glad you were able to get her calmed down. And so sorry to hear about your little Sister, BUT think positive about the transplant. I'll keep her (and you) in my prayers. Stay strong, we're here for you, for anything you need, my friend, remember that. I'm just a pm away, ok? Try to have a wonderful Tuesday!

MPotter: Sounds like heaven; peace and quiet in nature..wow. I hope you really enjoy it over in Lake Geneva, that's a beautiful area, too. Enjoy. Boy do I know about Busy, that's my life in a nutshell. :D

Zak: I used to love when the kids were babies (for the most part) and I'd sit up with them in the early morning hours feeding them. I'd read to them, or just talk to them while I fed them. It was so quiet and it was just "our time". I miss those days.

Rhonda: Yes, that is exercise, that's part of what we were doing all last week; at a pony show in Belvidere at the Boone County Fair. We had to clean pens every day for her 6 ponies..it's work; esp when it's 89-92 degrees and humid. very hot work. I'd call it work! *L* Hope you were able to get the paperwork done.

Zak: YAY and getting the fitbit set up, way to go. And remember, 5-6 minutes, is a START, that's what's important. You'll gradually get more and more and build up. That's what's important. don't give up, you'll do it, I know it, we all know it, just like you said!! Way to go, I'm proud of you!!

Ques: Way to go, keep on walking, so glad you're getting out there and doing that, and having someone to walk with you and you're no longer out of breath, how fantastic!! Aren't dogs great walking companions? Thats fantastic!!

We had a great time at the Boone County Fair; I was "forced" to go to a country music concert (sorry, but I'm a rock fan, not country, BUT I did make a CD of country songs......which I kind of like, and do listen to. The reasoning behind my not liking country is because when I was growing up my parents ALWAYS listened to that twangy, real old time country, and to this day, I just don't like it. I don't care what kind it is..I just can't get to liking it. but, like I said, I did make a CD that has songs like "Wagon Wheel" (course I used to like Hootie and the Blowfish, so that helps), "How do you like me now", "Chicken Friend", "As She's Walking Away", "Beer For My Horses", "I'm In A Hurry". "Beer Money". Think that's all for Country; filled up the rest with "Who'll Stop The Rain", "The Weight", "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark", "Poison", "Do Ya", "Superheroes", "Take Me To The Church". :D

Anyway, back on the subject, the concert I went to was one I'd gone to see with our daughter and a couple friends when this guy and the other group that played, first started out quite a few years ago. The head group (and it cost us $10 for the concert), was Lady Antebellum, the follow up was Josh Turner; both virtually unknowns at the time but for both had 1 song out. So I thought, well, I know 2 songs of Josh Turners, I'll go see him because my Aunt wanted someone to go with them, no one else would (our daughter had just seen him a couple weeks before). I discovered he sang another song I'd wished I'd put on the CD; "Would You Go With Me". I think what I liked the most, though, was his light show, the background screens. He had 6 smaller/taller screens along the side of him, and one larger screen (partially blocked by a dang canopy on stage). on the taller screens he'd have like water/sky "movies" and on the background were videos of him either singing or doing other things. If you sat right in the middle it would have looked awesome; we were on the side/back bleachers, but it was still cool. But it was still cool to watch; that was my favorite part until he sang that song and "Long Black Train" the two songs I knew..at the end of course.

Anyway, it was in the upper 80's lower 90's Fri, Sat, Sun, and very humid, and I'll write more of what happened on my blog, instead of wasting space here, but I'm back, and hope you're all doing well. Have a great day. I'll be leaving again Friday for an open house for some friends. Our anniversary is Friday and it'll be nice to go somewhere other than the trailer on our 33rd anniversary.

Hugs to all!!

Tuesday: Jason caught an earlier train so got home @ 7”30 pm. Instead of after 10 pm. Hurray! Great surprise.

Had good presentations and gets to be home today. HURRAY HURRAY.

So, life is back to normal . . . . well, whatever that is for sure!

Storms blew thru in the afternoon. We were all right but it really rained.

So . . . . here’s to a terrific Tuesday.

Zak: I hear ya on the early wake up call. I am up @ 4 am every morning and as I fondly call it, "The Crack of Dark", "Are-you-nuts o'clock". But like you, honestly, the quiet hrs. are really good for me to be productive w/o interruptions too much.

Had a great time camping in Aniwa over the weekend. It is such a nice, small campground so it is so peaceful. We did some hiking over the rocks on Saturday morning. The view is just amazing! Then we just soaked up the weekend of relaxation! I still managed to get 10,000 steps in both days, but I will be honest in saying that I wasn't really trying :)

Now, I am getting ready for my next weekend trip. I am heading towards the Lake Geneva area to visit friends and family. That is where I grew up, and I just don't get down there as much as I would like.

It is a busy, busy month!

1 - I'm happy you are able to enjoy your "me" time.

Not much went on today. Back to 5 a.m. wake up's, argh. Actually, I really don't mind it to much - nice to get the morning off to a quiet start. Makes the rest of the day go better. Have a great Monday.

Sunday – well another hot ‘n’ humid one. But got out for my early morning walk. Cherish that “ME TIME”

Hoping for just a slow day today! I’ll make it so!

Wishing that family luck!

So glad to hear that your BIL is home now.

Awwww, glad puppy had a good birthday. Our fur babies sense when someone important isn’t around as much! DH is out of town and Mr. Spot is “out of sorts” a little.

Zak: Kudos! You can do it . . . . make day 5 a success.

Ques, Rhonda, Ali: Hope all is well!

Hugs, smiles and blessings.

1 - Glad Jason made it to his meeting. Happy your Mom had a much better day. I agree, poop or snow they're both poop!

I borrowed a book called "Believe it, Be it". It's written by Ali Vincent, the first woman winner of The Biggest Loser. I read the whole book in one day. Some of what she said bothered me, but a majority of what she said I liked. It was very motivational, in fact while reading it I put the book down and went for a walk. I hope I can carry what she said forward and continue to be motivated. I am doing well and I hope to continue it. Today is day five of me reaching my steps goal. I hope you all are having a great weekend.

Saturday – much better day yesterday. It was warm and humid and we had a wicked storm in the evening, but nothing harmed. Mom had a much better day so I was pleased about that.

Jason made it to his business meeting and it is going well. Glad of that too!

Otherwise, busy day going to the store, bank and a few other places. But I’ll get my steps in.

Thanks for the prayers guys. **SIGH** Guess I wouldn’t know what to do w/myself if life were boring!

Chicken poop, snow . . . . they’re BOTH poop! OY

Ali: We're WATCHING you! HUGS

Friday – really busy day yesterday. Mom had a bad day and spent quite a bit of time getting her calmed down. She at least had a good evening. PHEW

Jason left this morning for his business trip and will be back on Monday late. Sooooo . . . . guess that leaves me and Mr. Spot in charge. Heaven help us! LOL

And with that I got more bad news. My little sis (lymphoma and stage 4 renal disease) saw her nephrologist yesterday. He is referring her to a kidney transplant specialist. PREVIOUSLY she’d been told she wasn’t a candidate, but HE felt since she’s been stable with the lymphoma for 10 yrs., she should at least try. Lots of psychological issues on this one for Sis, but we’re working it through together. **SIGH** I am ultimately ready for 2015 to end, but have to deal!

HUGS and have a wonderful Friday.

Here's to a good day, ladies!

emoticon Zak for the consistency and the realistic expectations! Every new exercise we try always has a break in period for our body to adjust and even more importantly that you are listening to your body and not being too aggressive and causing a new injury! Keep up the great work.

1CrazyDog - so true how each of our bodies has some adjustment periods. Good to know that you had to be patient as well - I lose 2-3# (or so I think ;) then back up those same pounds then finally a return down - can take days/weeks to see that happen. I have seen this pattern over the past 6 months and have accepted that this is my body and that slow progress is just that progress and I can maintain what I am doing. (Some days easier than others!)

Hope everyone has a great weekend as it is just around the corner.

Yeah for maintaining! That's still a really GOOD thing. The body sometimes has to get "used to" the weight loss as it happens. I found that for every 10 lbs. I lost, my body took 2-4 weeks to adjust. But then the momentum would return. So hang tight.

Thanks 1.

Well I am happy to say I didn't gain this week - didn't release either, I stayed the same. Which makes me happy. This is four weeks in a row that I have released or stayed the same. So far so good - just need to keep it up! (((((hugs)))))
