I am sorry to hear about the kitty you lost. Are you foster parents for kitties. We foster children. If it weren't for my husband I would foster cats too. We also have three. We had two Isabella and Midnite. My son found another kitty and brought him home. I think my husband has finally figured out the rest of us refuse to get rid of him. The two we alread had were girls. The new kitty is a boy. Since Derrick found him I let him name him. He named him Tiger. We have to go get Tiger fixed. Our females are already fixed. Tiger is so loving. I think he is still a kitten. He doesn't look quite grown and he acts like a kitten. We love our kitties. We also have a Toad named Hoppy that Derrick found and a dog named Molly. Molly is a Bichon Frize so she is not much bigger than the cats.

We have three now after one crossed the rainbow bridge last week. Today we are picking up three foster kittens that we will likely have for three weeks.

Hi all! I'm sorta new here though I've been a member on this forum for a few years and I've just come back to SP. ..... to stay!!!
I have two cats. I have one black bombay mix " Jack" and a Calico " April" . The boy is just like my husband and the girl is just like me. My husband is thin and laid back and so is Jack. As for my sweet April she is more feisty like me and is a big girl. Hehehe it must be true that pets take on their owners personality's -and in my case, size.. LOL emoticon

I have 3 cats in my house. All of them are a special needs one that we got from the Humane Society.
Salty--14 years old We had to have half of his tail removed. Decided to chew it to the bone and we aren't sure why.
Calypso--3 years old. She was in a cage that was padlocked shut. She knows how to open them. We also fought with ear mites with her for 6 months.
Nermil--3 years old. When we got him he had stitches on his face. They were to put his bottom lip back up and into place. They think that he was thrown from a car as a kitten. He does have a little droop on the one side but is still a darling.

Hi. I'm new here. I'll post a proper intro in the intros section when I have more time.

We have 8 cats between us. 7 are mine, 1 is my boyfriend's. At my peak, I had 11! We have lost a few by attrition, and when my ex passed away, I gave his cat to his sister. (The cat lived out her life with a lot of love and attention--don't worry!)

They are all spoiled rotten, and they are my life.

We have four cats (actually, 3 7/8 cats), 1 7/8 which are good, 2 which are bad.

7/8 cat is Rafiki. She has 3 legs and is 22 years old. She is a good cat, but cranky, which I think is deserved once you pass the 20 year mark.

Other good cat is Marlon, who is 13 years old but is strong enough to pull a mattress off of the box spring!

Bad cats: Josie Hatfield an Logan McCoy, 7 year old brothers who are troublemakers and LOVE to get in the way when you are walking somewhere and can't see your feet (say, a laundry basket or tray full of dishes.)

I have two boys. I would have more but my husband says no. We have two dogs too so it is a houseful already. If my brother in-law is serious about getting rid of his cat my husband would be willing to take on another one because he wouldn't want the cat to go to the pound because we don't think he would be adopted. He is older and morbidly obese. We will see if the time comes.

I have one at the moment Miss Maggie Moo, she's nine. My other baby girl Miss Spazanation passed away a couple weeks before I had my son. She was 4, I think she was poisoned by my neighbors, but can't prove it sadly.

Now ask yourself are there really things that go bump in the night
Or are we taught as children to have fright for things that might
Live or breath or might not even exist
Cause fear is a son of a bitch of man's myths
And his job is keeping the urban legends alive
By telling stories and enhancing em with devilish lies
So stay afraid of the many beings and strange things
That will live forever in folklore and remain to be seen

I have two: They are sisters from the same litter, but don't really look alike, except for the fact that they're both tabbies. Maggie May is a slender cream tabby (she's the color of saltine crackers) and Alice is a husky red tabby (rust-colored, with a dark rust chipmunk stripe down her back).

I have seven cats that sleep indoors. Three are allowed to go in and out. I also have one feral female ( now fixed) that I feed. She invites her significant other to eat also. I have a neighbor's cat who wanders by about once a week to be fed and I have one other cat who also shows up only every now and then. On a daily basis I feed nine cats. Did I mention that I also have two dogs. emoticon Cat says, "I don't know which is worse all the extra cats or the two dogs!" emoticon Cat also says, "Now some fish pets - that would be good." emoticon emoticon

I agree with you totally Jillian40, my cats dictate the rules to me to. They run the house. Everything and I do mean everything is scheduled around their schedules. Funny sometimes.

And before everyone or someone thinks I am a hoarder, let me assure you that I am not. Everyone else thinks I am crazy but I love all them to death and don't know how I have lived without them. They are well taken care of, get regular vet checks, and are healthy.

I really only have 6 that stay in at all times, the rest like I said are in and out. They only come in to eat and sleep. or if weather is bad. They have all been housebroke and fixed.

Gonna break down my children for you in groups most have creek names, but I will spell them so you can read them and put nick names in parenthesis:

Leading the pack is the 2 Original babies. We got Kotcha first, then came Bips, he was a rescue, someone had put him, his litter mates and mom in an old stove outside (oven part). They put the babies separately from the momma. Only 2 survived, Bips and another. I had to bottle feed him and even teach him to poop he was maybe 2 weeks old when he came to me.

1. Kotcha Mekko-Orange Tabby short hair
2. Chutkey Beboge (Bips)-Tuxedo

Next come the fuzzy butts....LOL. Fuzzy affectionately known as Momma, used to be an outside cat but then she found us and after we tamed her I took her and got her fixed. But not before she made sure her legacy would go on. I think she is Maine Coon as well, but not sure. They are all long hairs, except for a few. Baby was the only one I was gonna keep because I guess his tail got broken in birth and it never grew right. He has a stub and the end is bent. I never wanted him mistreated so was gonna only keep him oh and honey. I love tuxedos.

3. Fuzzy (momma)-Maine Coon (I Think)
4. Chusie (Chuz)-Orange Tabby Short Hair
5. Mekkogee (Baby)-Orange Tabby Short Hair.
6. Honey Chovia (Honey)-Tuxedo
7. Spooky Bear (spookables)-Black Short hair
8. Ashey (Sashy Girl)-Looks just like her momma
9. Hutkey (Hutkles)-Looks like a rag doll
10. Hopper-Orange Tabby long hair
11. Shadow-Orange Tabby long hair

And last but not least we have the Belly babies. When you have this many cats you start running out of names so they are named after markings on their bellies. Again creek names but will put i english. Lilo is the runt and was only gonna keep her because she had a rough early life she had a 2x4 fall on her back leg, thought it was broke and because she was the runt her brothers and sisters wouldn't let her feed. So I took her in and bottle fed her. She was supposed to be named leo (short) for leopard belly but when we found out she was a girl it got changed to Lilo.

12. Panther Belly (smanthers)
13. Jaquar Belly (Jag)
14. Leopard Belly (Lilo)
15. Cheetah Belly (Cheetoh)

Sadly Cheetah has passed, took her to the dr. to get her fixed and she had a reaction to the anesthesia and passed. So now I have all cats tested before having the surgery to make sure there won't be any complications. She is greatly missed.

Then I have my outside cats:

16. Lusty
17. Rusty (Ole girl)

Rusty is actually the mother of the belly babies. Her first and last litter. She was wild, but we tamed her as well and as soon as the bellies were weaned, off to the dr. she went. Now she is my little bulldog outside, she won't let any other strange cats in the yard. And when my other cats go outside she rolls them. It really is funny. I tried hard not to get attached to her, but I am now.

Oh I almost forgot:

18. Snuggles-(snugs)

He actually just showed up one day, was about 3 wks old and has been with us ever since.

I think that is it. Most are inside out, only coming in to eat and at night to sleep but a few stay in at all times.

Currently, I am down to seven cats inside and five feral cats outside. (Last summer, because of all the ferals, I had 22.) That doesn't include the 8 dogs and 3 fish.

I have 8 kids....Raven who was fostered and adopted by me from abusive folks (6 yr old black male), Cleo was rescued from a rooftop (4 yr old black female), Taz was rescued from a moving vehicle engine...the car owner drove 45 mins with a 9 wk old kitten on the top back side of engine...how he lived...we all have no clue ( 1 yr old black male w/ 8 lives left), Bambi was rescued from individuals who were taking him to the pound when he was 6 wks old ...he loves to play fetch ( 3 yr old black male), Felix was rescued from a pet shop...whenever I walked past the cage she would reach out to me and try to grab me (meowing) when others walked by she was quiet. My daughter pointed it out to me and I fell in love...she was 6 wks old ( 15 yrs old Tuxedo cat), Mew is Felix's daughter ...she was attacked by a strange cat inside our house...he tore the screen off to get to her..she had one baby and we kept her...( 12 yrs old female Tuxedo), Bear was rescued from the streets...she is an absolute joy that loves to play fetch and she talks too(so she thinks) lol ( 2 yrs old Brown Tabby), Oliver is our newest edition to family....he was found on our fence looking into our house watching us do our daily activities....he was approximately 3 mths old...he is extremely lovable ....I have never seen a cat as lovable as him...it's extreme!!! ( 6 mths old male cream colored tabby).
We have several strays that hang around our home and we do feed them and provide our garage to them for shelter. One of the strays just presented 5 kits...all 6 wks old. I have been trying to befriend this cat to get her fixed to stop this tragedy...but we have not been so lucky. I am not giving up though. We currently feed approximately 16 strays on our block.

Scott was abused before we adopted him from the breeder. The breeder was not wanting to sell Scott to us because of the fact that he was beat to a pulp and had a broken tail. My son wanted him. I told the breeder that Scott wouldn't find a better home. We treat our cats as part of the family. The breeder said okay but didn't fell right about us paying. She said here you can have him. She has been over twice to check on Scott. She said that Scott was treated well and no evidence of mis treatment. Scott don't like men. I have a feeling that it was a man that abused him. Hope everyone has a purrfect day.

I have 7 who live with me: Pepe, Pirin, Frodo, Dulcinea, Don Quioxte, Sancho, and Martin.

Then there are the 2 neighbor cats, O'Sirius and Boy-Boy who basically camp out at my house

And then there are 4 cats at work that I feed 7 days a week, and give them daily cuddles.

I have a good life! And as has been stated already - they have trained me and "own me", rather than the other way around.

I am owned by two calico half-sisters: Bijou, nearly 8 years old, and Lagniappe just turned 7. Same mama cat, different daddies. Bijou has a beautiful multicolored coat with a white belly and paws. Lagniappe is mostly white with a double-thick coat and a few blotches of color. Bijou was diagnosed last week with cancer of the muscle covering. She has a large lump on her back between her shoulders. She's not in apparent discomfort, unless the lump gets bumped out from her body...she still chases her tail in spirals all around the house, wrestles with Lagniappe and chases back and forth from one end of the house to the other with her, eats well, etc. The vet says wide-margin surgery is the only option, BUT that there's a 50% to 70% probability that it would come back. Soooo, I opted not to put her through the surgery, which would have restricted her movement during recovery, and just love her until she gets to "that point." Perhaps another year or two.

I love my furbabies.

Blessings!

The number of cats we have from month to month varies...our three "permanent" feline family members are a female longhair calico (~10yrs), a male shorthair black/white (~3.5yrs), and a male shorthair orange (~3yrs). We foster a lot of cats/kittens from the local humane society, so we may have up to 7-8 cats at a time!

Zoe and Paris get along swimmingly. Like brother and sister. When Zoe was a kitten Paris would her down and force clean her. Evie gets along with Paris okay but she seems to hate Zoe.

I have four. A friend asked me to take a calico cat with a bad leg... upon arrival I found out she was 11 yrs. She's 14 now and is a happy cat. She seemed lonely so when my brother had a tabby hanging around his house, I snapped him up and she and Collier eventually learned to get along. Then our neighborhood got new neighbors and they had two adorable cats. They weren't taking care of them so I swooped down and now have Choo Choo and Fatboy.. and unfortunately Fatboy has feline leukemia but he's in my basement and is doing pretty well.

Haha I agree with the poster below me. I own none. But one particular cat owns me. ;)

I just have one cat, an 11 year old tortie named Paisley. I've had her a little over 3 years. Obviously I don't know for sure, but it seems like she loves the quiet little lifestyle I've given her and wouldn't want a "friend". But I certainly wish I could rescue more cute kitties! I do really cherish the bond her and I have though!

Do you mean how many cats own me? control me? Do I go to work to feed? Do I jump at their every command?
how do I explain? I have 3 cats that actually live inside of my house & allow me to cohabitate with them, because I provide food, water & clean their liter boxes. Then, there are 2 outside whom I feed, but God forbid I pet them or consider them mine!
BTW: I love them all unconditionally & I'm so glad they chose me to serve them...the dog doesn't feel the same!

I have 6 at present. Coffee-Kitty (because of her tortie coloring), Squeak (because she squeaked as a kitten), Cloud (who is gray and white), Mist (gray), Stratus (also gray and white but with stripes), and Shadow (black and white).
