@CCKELLY3 – thanks for the info on MuCCC – it sound very interesting…..
Read that you joined the Y – glad you got some aid – it really cost a small fortune to join. I’m lucky that my Medicare supplemental insurance pays for it – I only have to pay $25 for the year. Which Y did you join?

What do you do to stay active in the evening? Let us know here!

If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?

Oh, if you like culture, check out MuCCC theater at 142 Atlantic Ave. They host a new group or artist almost every week of the year. They have everything from classic theater, to readings of modern works by local playwrights, sketch and improv comedy, music, and too many types of performance art to name. They've also hosted the famed international AcroCats, a group that rescues abandoned kittens and train them to perform ( if the cat demonstrates an aptitude & joy for performing) or finds them loving homes. There's also a small gallery space with exhibits rotating monthly.

Tickets are usually $6-20 depending on the show. The theater has a mission to help artists develop by offering a low cost performance venue, and is dedicated to making cultural events affordable for everyone by keeping ticket prices low.

Due to physical rehab necessary after leg surgery, I was encouraged to join the YMCA specifically for the pool and hot tub/sauna for stretching after. Yes, this costs a small amount for monthly fees, but the Y offers scholarships for those who qualify financially, so even on my limited budget I've switched my budgeted one evening out at a movie for a whole month of time in the gym.

This has given me lots of choices to go enjoy in the early evening, from racquetball to yoga classes, and lots more. A lot of the ladies like to chat and socialize in the tv lounge of the woman's locker room, or the sauna. There's also access to free wifi with a small computer & lounge area, with free coffee during the day, where people read the newspaper or hang out between league games.

Mall Walking (but don't take any money, lol!). I got a Fitbit so now I walk while watching TV. Im a geek but finding it kinda fun to walk to the Voice Mon-Wed. I also go to the gym at least once to twice a week. Can't wait for the wind to die down enough to start walking outside!

Having a hard time thinking of stuff to do on snowy Rochester evenings that don't involve food/alcohol or vegging in front of the tv... suggestions?
