Thanks for the pep talk. Some days I have a more positive perspective than others. The last couple of days have not been on the positive side for me. But I know that’s not permanent. I just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and things will brighten up eventually.

Dont feel defeated. You need the medication and if you have to gain a bit of weight in order to be well, so be it. As you know, I am diabetic. I also have asthma and many times I get a respiratory illness and end up needing steroids in order to reduce lung inflammation. It destroys my blood sugar control and weight gain is an additional gift...but it helps me breath and get well. I used to refuse to take steroids and ended up much sicker and ultimately had to take them anyway...sometimes intravenously and then a longer course orally.. I have stopped fighting it and traded a loss of what I wanted for weight and sugar control for feeling better and being well. I dont really like the extra weight and the blood sugar never returns to what it was before steroids messed it up, but I accept that as the price for being well enough to live as I wish and feel well. I hate each time I have to take steroids, i sneer and call it poison but it does help. I am sorry you have to take a medication that messes up what you have worked so hard to do and you are an inspiration to so many of us and continue to be. Keep up the good fight. You are not defeated...you continue to meet each challenge and keep going. Not everyone can say the same.
Good luck with your move.

Good to hear from you! That storm sounds extreme!

I am beginning another move. This one hopefully the last one for quite a while. I am moving into dad’s house. It is going very slowly so far, as the building I am currently in banned all visitors (and delivery people) from entering over a month ago. I can have one person as a “caregiver” come in, but she had to be registered with the office. So, my niece and I are moving one bookcase at a time. She can only get the car twice a week so it has definitely been slow. Other than books and clothes I really just want to throw everything away and not move it all again. But I will probably donate quite a bit, rather than throwing it out.

I have been maintaining my weight until this past week. My doctor started me on a medication with a side effect of weight gain, and I have already put on two pounds after only a week. It makes me feel defeated.

Same old, same old here. I am up to 9 or more miles walking a day. Snapping turtles are out now and crossing the roads we walk along. A few snakes and a dozen or so turkeys. Weve been in a rain drought for several weeks but today the heavens opened. It is rare for us to get real, flooding soakers around here. I think in the 40+ years I have lived here, we have only had real soakers less than a half dozen times. Tonight we were in a major soaker that we didnt expect. Wind, rain, thunder, lightning and hail that floated past our car like icebergs. A huge oak tree fell next to our car as we were driving towards our destination. We planned. Buy pet food at a nearby pet store, but ended up sitting in a rapidly flooding parking lot watching the rain create a lake with wind blown white capped waves in the lot around it. We moved our car up a bit when we saw the water was lapping the car doors and hoods of the vehicles parked near us. It was unsafe for us to drive more than that until the wind, rain and hail calmed down a bit. A hospital abut 3 miles from where we were had around 5 inches of rain and parked cars started to float in the lot. Ambulances were sent from surrounding areas to evacuate parts of the hospital where water flooded into rooms. Unbelievable. I joked with my husband that we would probably end up floating in the lot we were in while waiting to leave the lot. It was good we moved. Quite a storm and a bit of excitement for a time when there is so much sameness everyday.
Stay well everyone

My days all seem to have a sameness about them. I went to the grocery store today for the first time in two months because we thought we should buy a little bit of meat while we can still. There were strict limits to how much you could get. I didn’t mind too much. It is what it is. We know some local butchers who still have meat available (or they did last we checked), so we will probably go local for future meat options. That is definitely not a bad thing! I have heard a lot of talk about the COVID-19 weight gain... but I am losing weight. I have been staying at my dad’s house for the past two months, and following his meal schedule. We don’t eat after 6pm and the biggest meal is at lunchtime. It seems to be working for me.

Some positives from this pandemic. I am walking 8 or more miles each day and as a consequence, I am losing weight, slowly and my diabetes blood glucose numbers are decreasing. My dh and I go out each day and walk together, which is nice. Also, my youngest and his wife are in the process of becoming homeowners and are moving from 10 miles away to just around 3. We are still all healthy and able to work remotely so right now, all in my family are doing ok. We see the kids and grandkids from a distance, using FaceTime or zoom. Life is different but different is not always bad. I miss going out to the occasional movie. I miss hugs from my grandchildren and their parents. I miss browsing in stores. I have not been in a store since early in March and dont expect I will be doing so in the foreseeable future. My summer vacation trips are cancelled. We had hoped to do some special event travels at the end of this year into the beginning of 2021. I am not optimistic but, life is good and I plan to have many years ahead to make up for the inconveniences now. How are you doing?

I have never known about pseudo pregnancy with recently spayed dogs. Learn new things everyday. So my first responder sons coved test came back negative so he is back to work. My poor daughter who has been trying so hard to keep herself and family safe has been diagnosed with strep so she is on meds for that. Her doctor said she must have had some contact with a silent carrier. I never heard of that with strep either, but I knew what he diagnoses would be before she was able to see her doctor. My daughter took pictures of the progression of redness and swelling in her throat and it was pretty evident. She had a high temp, exhaustion, swollen glands and a slight earache on the side where the nastiest tonsil swelling was. She has a history of strep and tonsillitis so the diagnosis was made by her doctor using telehealth. After a day on prednisone, the swelling decreased and she will be on antibiotics for the next week. Hopefully, her two young children dont get infected. My husband and I continue to self isolate and so far, we are both well .

Good morning... I am doing my best to stay healthy mentally and physically. I am a borderline agoraphobic, so this stay home and isolate thing is right in my wheelhouse. I do tend to sit more though. I have been aiming to get up and walk a quarter mile every hour or so. Some days I am better at it than others! My dad is fostering a dog with the intention of adopting her. Problem is she just got spayed and went into a pseudo pregnancy, so now my dog (a male) is desperate to be next to her... all of the time... even when she wants nothing to do with him. It makes for some tense moments. I am hoping that sometime in the next two to three weeks she comes out of this and my dog can stand down. As it is we have to keep them separated. It just adds stress to an already stressful situation. She is a sweet dog with humans though.

Morning,

Today is the end of week 3 of school closures, we now have limited other services, most grocery stores are still open but on reduced hours and they are restricting how many people can be in the store at a time. I was laid off on Tuesday so today will be my last pay check for a while until my employment insurance comes in or maybe some of this emergency funding starts.

I really wish that it would warm up, this being -20C in April is just wrong. I want to be able to get outside and work in the garden or go for a walk.

Yesterday I did a video chat with a friend. It was nice to actually see each other while talking.

My mom died 3 years ago April 1st. So I am right there with you on disliking this day. This year was weird on that day. My niece is self quarantining herself for two weeks due to travel she had to do last weekend. It’s hard to do in a mostly open floor plan house with four of us in the household.

I have never liked April 1st and today did not change my mind. My son is a paramedic firefighter and found out this morning that the emergency call he was on last night was positive for covid 19. We spent a good part of the day trying to make plans to isolate him from his very young family. He has had no testing done nor is it likely he could get one as very few tests are done unless the victim has serious symptoms and he has just been exposed. He tells us he and the others on his team did everything right so he is hopeful that he wont get it but he does not want to chance his infant son and wifes health. He will stay in his home and the rest will go to stay with friends. He and his family are young so even if he got it, the odds are in his favor. We were going to put him up in our motor home but this plan is much better. He said he had no contact at all with his wife and son so no danger there. Sigh. So we wait. I really hate April 1.

It has changed in ways I never thought Id see. I tell my worried grandchildren they are living ina time of great historical significance and that they will be able to tell their children and grandchildren that lived through the great pandemic of 2020. The younger ones, under age 8 are less worried than the tweens and teen grandchildren. My husband, the kids parents and I all reassure the kids that we will do what we have to do to stay safe and healthy. And we are doing that. We will get past this, but I think as a world we humans will have changed, I dont mean physically and I dont think it will be necessarily bad, just different and perhaps wiser for the experiences but right now, its unsettling for sure. Stay safe everyone. emoticon

Has life ever changed. If you had told me a month ago that we would all be at home all the time I would have told you no way, we are too busy for that. Guess what for the last 2 weeks plus 2 days we have been at home except to go out for a few groceries.

This says it all.

I have been self isolating, but it will probably make very little difference as my family members have not been doing a good job. I try to convince them to stay home, use grocery pickup services, and generally avail themselves of the options being offered to limit exposure, but with no luck. I think it’s very selfish of them, personally, but I don’t know what I can do about it they are adults after all. I have voiced my concerns, and that is all I can do, I guess. So far no one in the family has gotten sick, so that’s good. There are only 5 confirmed cases of the virus in this county, but there are over 50 people under mandatory isolation orders who are symptomatic but haven’t gotten test results back yet. This thing will undoubtedly drag on longer than it could have because people aren’t staying home and practicing social distancing and isolation... my family included. Sigh.

I just went to read your blog! I am glad to learn that your damage was not too great and that you are still able to stay in the house. Hope you get some decent weather so you can open up the windows and air it out.
We have too many cases of covid-19 around my county including several in my small town. I am grateful that my children are adults and they have been able to shop for us. One of my sons is a scientist and the work in his lab is helping to supply other researchers with raw materials to learn more about this virus and its effects of our bodies. Another is a first responder. He says it is bad and to continue to self isolate and let them (the kids) shop for us. We have also been ordering online and local home delivery. It's a bid more expensive but worth it. We worry about our children and their children as well. My DH and I have been counting down the days from our last "outside" exposure. So far we are feeling well and this Sunday will mark day 15 so we are optimistic. We were being fairly careful before that point as well but we were on the road heading home and by necessity were exposed to others.
My DH and I have been walking at least 6 miles a day, most of the time outside. We did go to my daughters this past week to deliver some clothes and food to her that we had at our house before the virus was widely known. My grand daughter is likely to have outgrown those clothes if we hadn't delivered and the food was purchased for when my daughter and the kids were visiting. We won't eat it so we dropped it off. We never got closer than 10 feet to her or the 2 little cherubs but it was wonderful to see them and spend some outdoor time with them. My daughter is home educating the kids now as the schools are shut down until mid May at best now. She had been substitute teaching....gone now. She had also been teaching a Zumba at the YMCA. that is also closed now so when we visited her, I suggested she do a zumba class for me and her dad. It was wonderful, and it was safe so we will probably do it again. We'll make this work. It is a short time inconvenience but if we can keep from getting sick, we'll have years ahead to enjoy!! Hope you are still doing ok. You and I are both high risk for complications so stay safe!

We had too much excitement yesterday. We had a fire at dad’s house and he couldn’t get it out with four fire extinguishers, so we had to call the fire department. Five departments responded! It took them about an hour. There is only very minor water damage. Mostly there is smoke residue and extinguisher dust everywhere. And the house smells funky, but we were allowed back in to stay, so it could have been worse! My brother says not to say that, because things CAN get worse. The house is cold this morning, because we are just using little space heaters to heat the whole house.

8 mile walk outdoors today. Lots of birds, ducks and turkey around. Made it to 67 after a chilly, damp start. Cold again tomorrow, but I suppose that is how spring should be. We are not on total lockdown yet, but I expect it to be soon. Perhaps that is best. Th virus cases arent slowing down. I have been voluntarily isolating since I returned from my out of state family visit last week. If I have to get it, I am working to be on the flatter end o f the curve. I FaceTime often with my kids and grandkids and I have my husband for companionship. Cooking, playin with dogs, watching movies on tv or online fills my days pretty well. Playing online bingo tonight on POGO. Ive been a member almost since club pogo started. Lots of games to play. I may start some adult coloring tomorrow and perhaps working on some of my old ceramic pieces that need tough ups or completion. Im far from bored. Hope you are all filling your days well.

I am at my dad’s house out in the country, so he and I walk every morning. I was paranoid about being stuck alone in my apartment. At least at my dad’s house the three of us (dad, my niece and myself) can isolate together. There are a number of fitness instructors who are offering free online fitness classes through Facebook live and other social media. If you just look a little you can find some interesting classes. I know I did. I am taking this time to read some of the 3 million books I have on my kindle (slight exaggeration). That and cuddling with the dogs. It’s much nicer having someone else to isolate with than trying to struggle through on my own. (We shall see what we all think in another week or two!). Take care and stay well.

Since most of us are probably practicing "social distancing", perhaps we can make more use of this chat thread. Some things to chat about might be how we are coping with the isolation or the change in our usual routines. Gyms (etc) are closing....parks are closing....how are we getting some needed movement and maintaining relationships? I am fortunate enough to live near small, pretty much not used streets so I have gone out on good days and walked. When the weather doesn't permit it, I have been "dancing" in the house or using Leslie Sansone. My daughter is a ZUMBA instructor. Her gym is shut down so she is trying to figure out how to do zumba classes with the family via internet. I have been contacting and chatting with friends online. My dog(s) crave attention and play. (So does my DH emoticon ). My adult kids are doing our shopping and we even did one of our street walks with one of our sons. We could chat, but kept our distance. He was on one side of the road and we (my DH and I) were on the other...6.5 miles of sheer enjoyment! My DH and I can both continue our work from home...tough to get used to, but doable. We have movies to watch online and plenty of games we can play. We have 4 kids so we have lots of old (but fun) games to rediscover. We are looking to see what games we can play with the family online that are family and grandchild friendly as well. So what are you all doing?

Continuing our travels. I am glad I packed cold weather clothes. It didnt get out of the 50s today and it poured. Tomorrow might possibly hit upper 60s. Scenery is beautiful. Tomorrow we will be visiting with a former neighbor and close friend who moved away over 30 years ago. We will spend a few days with her and then continue north. I will post again next time I can connect. Hope you are feeling better.

I have never tried a gratitude journal, but I do go back from time to time to read my old sparkpeople journals. I dont often update them now. Life got in the way...mostly for a good reason, but I find that sometimes reading the words of wisdom and encouragement that come from our own souls, is comforting when things get tough. Have a wonderful day. The weather here is surprisingly warm. Rain and wind is on the way today a,d perhaps tomorrow, it nowhere as bad as the weather some of our southern neighbors are having.

I keep a gratitude journal... I went back and reread some of the older entries. context and topics may change, but the heart (or spirit?) of the entries remains fairly consistent through the years...

It brings me a sense of contentment, and yes, gratitude...

I have insomnia issues in general, and I have tried meditation, herbal tea, melatonin, soothing music (generally classical), progressive relaxation exercises, journaling, and other methods as well... I fall asleep fine... I just wake up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep for hours (or sometimes... at all)... some of it has to do with my PTSD, some is my autoimmune disease... and some is environmental. None of which I can change or control right now. (By environmental, I mean neighbors who watch TV, loudly, all night... or throw parties until 2am). I have considered moving, but I live in a specific type of housing, and other apartment buildings are few in our area. So, I chalk up the neighbors to the opportunity cost of living where I do... and call the cops on them if they get out of hand. But I digress... despite my best efforts the insomnia continues. I generally have given up on fighting it at this point, and if I get less than three hours sleep then I allow myself a nap the next day, just so that I can function and be vaguely cordial to my fellow humans, lol. It’s just some nights(or days) that it catches up with me and bothers me more, for one reason or another. Lately it’s been bothering me a bit more, so I moan about it more... thanks for your suggestion, I had not tried that specific imagery before... I will give it a try tonight (as I am up at 1am again), and see how it goes. It’s worth a concerted effort, right?

Just saw your last message. I know my response is a bit...a lot...late, but maybe it will help next time. When I was pregnant and had trouble falling asleep I used to meditate. I would imagine myself standing outside during a snowstorm and listening carefully and totally for the sound of each snowflake as it hit the ground around me. I had to really focus on the sound of the snow and it actually helped distract me from my staying awake thoughts to allow me to sleep. I know many people use warm ocean imagery, but the ocean is easy to hear. The silence of snow falling softly requires an intense focus so it worked for me. Did you find anything that finally helped you, other than sheer exhaustion?

It’s been a weekend. A long weekend. Not in terms of days, but time dragging. I have stuff to do today (Monday) that I don’t particularly want to do, and I have known since late Friday night that I was going to have to do it... anticipating dreaded events makes time drag. I really tried to distract myself. But right now at 4am, I am kind of stuck as to what is acceptable (no jazzercise, no running in place, no singing along with music, no music in the first place...) within the confines of my apartment. Do y’all have a go to distraction technique?

emoticon So I am back....again. I didnt got a norovirus while on my infected ship cruise, but I ended up getting it anyway, probably from my 6 year old grandson. It moved like lightning through my family. My kids came to check on my husband and me and they got the blasted virus too. I lost 5 pounds in 3 days, 3 of them on the first day I was sick. Of course it is water weight loss so it came back once I could keep fluids in my body. I had a really great streak of exercise streak ended. I have gotten most of my energy back now, enough so that I could shovel my driveways, steps and walkways yesterday. I used the shoveling as an opportunity to practice good lifting. I picked up the snow the same way I lift my barbell set. I lift 135 pounds with the weight set and I think the snow weighed less..except near the end of the driveway where the snow was packed by the plows and slushy by the road salt. Very heavy and nasty. Anyways,I got my energy back.
Chandra, I read your blogs. I hope you feel better soon. Youve handled your challenges better than most. You are a strong, inspiring woman. Happy birthday to cooper dog. I have a little chihuahua beagle mix, also a rescue dog around the same age.
More snow and ice storms here on Thursday.

Hi all, I have been out of the country for the past 2 weeks and did not have access to the internet so I am catching up. I have a streak going of at least 5 miles a day. I was on a cruise and spent sea days making sure I walked the deck enough for 5 moderately fast miles...approximately 20 times around the deck. I really enjoyed it. I also avoided elevators and we had a room on the 14th deck so I did a lot of stairs. The cruise was great and I feel refreshed.

Chandra, how did you injure your shoulder? I had to have a shoulder repair several years ago. I spent nearly a year in PT trying to avoid the surgery. I went for a second opinion when the orthopedist recommended the surgery. The second opinion doctor noted I had diabetes and declared a frozen shoulder is common in diabetics. I had the surgery and my shoulder is like nothing after happened at all. Hope you find relief soon.

I have an orthopedic consult for my shoulder on the 14th of this month. I have been going to physical therapy twice a week for four weeks, and doing the exercises at home as well, and have seen very little improvement, so the physical therapist wanted me to see a specialist... it sucks, because I am in constant pain, and yet I still use that arm, as I am right hand dominant to a frightening degree... and the physical therapist told me not to baby it too much or I could develop a “frozen shoulder”... so... that’s where that stands.

I had a pretty good Holiday season, except I gained too much weight, because I ate too much. But I am working now on taking it back off.

The mri did not indicate a bone infection. Some mild cellulitis, but the hand surgeon said not to be worried about. It.

Finally the MRI is done. I won't know the results until sometime next week. Bit out of it today, but relieved to be done.

So I learned yesterday that the medical group I have been using for over 40 years has a new policy....since 2017. They do not inform patients that the "group" uses a third party to process physician referrals AND it is the policy that no referral to any Doctor or facility will be made unless it is within the group itself. I have spent hours and my husband (on my behalf) has spent hours (not exaggerating) trying to get the MRI out of the Doctors offices. The Doctor's group literally would not refer to anyone but their own people. It ultimately took a high level manager from my health insurance (I love them) and a coordinator at the facility that I selected to get the MRI (which my insurance was fine with and approved) to coerce the referring Physician's group to release the information so I can get the MRI. Up until noon today, it was looking like I would be unable to have the MRI done. I fail to understand how a medical care provider group can dictate WHERE a patient gets a procedure done. My insurer approved the facility and would cover the MRI. Apparently the group does not want patients to "shop around" for an appropriate facility. Sounds to me like the "group" is going for kickbacks from each other. As of now, I do have the test scheduled for tomorrow morning. I'm focused on that right now, but after all is said and done, I intend to get answers. GRRRRRR.....Don't poke the bear. emoticon

sorry about t he delay responding. I've been navigating the health system. A while back I was playing frisbee with my dog, a bulldog mix and he and I got to the frisbee at the same time. My thumb lost and I have been self-treating it after getting emergency treat at the hospital. I was seen by my primary for a scheduled appointment and asked him to look at the fingernail. It was still "oozing" so he sent me immediately to a hand specialist. I had an xray...nothing evident but the hand doctor wanted me to have a contrast MRI on the hand to rule out osteomylitis (bone infection/rot). Navigating getting the MRI has been a nightmare. I do have an appointment now for first day of the December and see the Hand Doc. for followup the next week. My insurance company has been helpful with navigating the medical system red tape to get the appointment. The procedure had to be "preapproved". I have a new insurance and the pre approval took 1 day. My prior insurance took forever for a pre approval so no complaints about my insurance. I had to be seen yesterday for a growth that has now popped up on the tip of that finger. The old nail is now removed (by me) and I can now see the extent of the growth, which was causing the oozing by was not visible. Ugh. Other than that, I am doing great!

Hey there, as you can tell I am not doing too terrific at keeping on top of my teams so far this month... I am feeling better most days, but still have my off days. As for my name... I will answer to either, but I guess I prefer my given name, Chandra. I am glad you find my blogs to be interesting. I write for myself most of the time, unless a friend has asked me a specific question that I think deserves a blog of its own... usually though I am processing something going on in my head or in my life.

Hi there, Leslielenore.
I know you have had quite a time of it. I keep up with your blogs, which are outstanding and inspirational! I hope you have turned the corner and are feeling better. I admire you and your tenacity. You get knocked down and around by life and you just keep on standing up and moving forward! Do you prefer to be addressed as chandra or leslielenore? I've done both, but I would much prefer to use the name you prefer.
I apologize for all the typing errors My thumb where the dog got me is still healing and bandaged so I am a bit more clumsy with the typing. I proof what I write, but I don't always catch all of it.
Great to see you back!

Sorry, I haven't been very active on teams in August... I was sick all month, but I am starting to feel better now. Thank goodness. I am going to try and be a bit more attentive to my teams in September!

I hear ya. I would not mind less humid weather along with the high temps we have have had but at least I dont have to worry about sun sensitivity so I can dress lightly. You are amazing because you persist even though you have to cover up more due to the drug induced sun sensitivity. I do not see you as whining. Dont worry about what other people think about how you are dressed. They do not know you and if they judge you, they are not worthy of a second thought from you. Heres to cooler temps on the horizon. Take care and keep your chin up. Walk strong, and walk proud.

I am ready for summer to be over. My lupus symptoms have been really active for the past couple of months, including photosensitivity which is exacerbated by the medication I take to treat the blasted disease. Meh. It makes walking during the day a problem. I do it, but I have to cover up, or I get a really ugly rash... which means that people look at me funny for wearing too many clothes for such hot weather! Bleh... I know I am whining... but, my point is that I am looking forward to slightly cooler weather when I won’t be such an oddity wearing layers of clothes! lol

Quick updates: Little Sam (born prematurely June6th) is doing great! Still in NICU but improving each day. I will be in and out for much of the summer...lots going on. I am at a disadvantage for writing or typing for the time being. I played frisbee with my dog. My hand and his powerful jaws arrived on the frisbee simultaneously. Amazing how much we rely on our
opposable thumbs, especially when it is on our dominant hand. I'm fine, but my thumb will take some time to heal. Will lose the nail. Heavily bandaged to prevent infection 2 weeks since the injury. The poor puppy released the frisbee (and me) immediately and sat and then followed me into the house and laid by my feet as my DH and I tried to stop the bleed. Trip to the ER...tentnus shot, antibiotics and treatment. Heading to St. Louis to see kids....excited! I will pop in from time to time over the summer. Enjoy your summer and keep cool!

emoticon My son and his wife have welcomed their first child, a boy. He made his appearance a bit early and will have to spend a few weeks in the NICU but he is doing well. He graduated from the isolette today, which is exciting. This past week has been a blur. He is a tiny, perfect little guy. Now I have 7 grandchildren. emoticon

I love cottonwood shed season. It is pretty and I agree it looks like snow. The good part is no shoveling needed. Our whit pines are pollen shedding now. It looks like yellow drizzle everything gets covered on yellow pollen and you can see the clouds of it streaming by when the wind blows it from the branches. If I weren’t so allergic to it I would simply enjoy the beauty.

Oh boy the cottonwoods are shedding here! Looks like it is snowing again... LOL. I don't mind. My dog doesn't like it above 70 so we have been taking short walks together, and then I take longer solo walks.

We have the trees, grasses and flowers in pollen mode....and my allergies are in full swing, but I wouldn't trade the beauty of spring for anything! Finally. We moved the shovels and snow blower to the back of the shed and brought out the lawn mower and gardening tools. We are trying to replace trees and grass in areas that were destroyed by this past winters storms. We will have to hire a tree company to remove a fallen tree that is precariously balanced over my yard, the fence and into the "paper street" on the other side of my fence. It is a death trap and we can't move it ourselves. I'm not sure how a tree company will be able to do it either without destroying our fence.
We've had several days of dreary, coolish weather. Tomorrow is supposed to be hot and humid followed by late afternoon severe storms as a cold front moves in.
i've been watching a live stream of the hawaii volcano. Amazing! I have never seen anything like it. A storm chaser is over there live streaming it. His name is Brandon Clement. He has a link to his live stream on his facebook page. I've watched his tornado and severe weather streams. They are high quality and so is the volcano stream.

I think we might get Spring... things are blooming that's for certain... though the trees are still just starting to show a little green. But the flowers have taken off! And this morning I heard the wild turkeys down by the creek at my dad's house. I like the weather this time of year... so does my dog. We walk a lot while it is cool, and neither chilly nor broiling... happiness!

Hey Shark!
Good to hear from you! I have been to 49 of these United States. We traveled during the summer with my kids when they were on school break. We visited many state and national parks. We live in a beautiful country, full of surprises and always new adventures and places to discover. The 4 corners states are so unique from where I live in the Northeast. I have a friend who lives in SLC, Utah so on one of our trips were visited her and she took us to some amazing places.
No walk for me today. My daughter and her husband and 2 kids came by so I had fun playing with them all.
