Fitbritt91, I am so happy you decided to turn your life around! I know 2 babies have changed my life as well and for the better! I love the path that you have decided to take and not only will you inspire others but you will also be an example to your kids. Your story has only begun and yet you seem like you're the type of person to grow from each experience to make your journey.

I think I take the cake. I had my daughter when I was 17, and my son at 19. I am now 21. I am a daycare provider and go to school for nursing. I think alot of young girls get it together once they have a child. I know I did. I was going down the wrong path, ruining my life, dropped out of school, drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, anorexic. Name it, I did it. I found out I was pregnant with my baby girl, and life as I knew it, was never the same. I quit EVERYTHING. I was eating healthy, got my GED. Started school. I AM STRONG. But I have to admit, I did have a little push. By my angel who saved me. My daughter. No woman is ever to young to have a baby. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. :)

Only a couple months until bikini season!! :)

I was 23 when I found out I was pregnant and had Colin, our son, at 24. During the time I was pregnant, I was able to complete my BA in 3 years while serving in the Army National Guard. I am 25 now, I am working toward my Master's in Legal Studies. I am 1.5 semesters from completion, if that long. Colin is fun, energetic, loving boy that I could not imagine what I would do without him. I could not, EVER, be able to terminate a pregnancy. That is my choice to make, no one else's.

Were I am going with this is...women are STRONG, if they have faith in themselves. Courage and strength to carry on is within. No matter what is handed to us, we have to move on. Accidents happen. Sometimes getting pregnant is planned. Regardless of what happens, as long as the individual is content with their choice of whether to keep the baby or not, no harm done. Personally, it's no one else's concern. It's the mother's choice because the mother is more than likely going to be the primary care giver.

It's not our place to judge but it happens. People will continue to judge until the pro-choice/pro-life debate is complete, which the likelihood of that is not going to happen any time soon.

People should learn to not judge. I bet you younger moms have a lot more energy then those of us still having babies in our mid 30's, and you probably have less birth defects too!

i know how you feel. I have three boys under 4. I had my first at 20 and I graduated from nursing school with a newborn, and still got looks from people like i was a degenerate. My fav response from people when I told them how many children I had was "WOW thats alot. Maybe you should get fixed!" I am 25 now. I have learned to just ignore people that are too small minded to realize that good moms are good moms no matter how old they are!

Wow! Well, i got pregnant at 20, because i reaaaally wanted a girl, really bad since i was 13.. So i had her at 21, and just had a boy seven months ago!! No more for me.. But i'm only 24.. So, maybe in ten years i'll want to have another one, cause they're just so much fun! It depends on the person.. and the maturity level.. :)

whenever you think you can't do it anymore, there's still 40% left!!

I am glad to know that there are people that agree with me. I just didn't want to be upset for no reason. I was always told that God would not give you anything that you could not handle. I am not super religious but I do believe that you are given what you can deal with. Life might be harder but still worth every day!
Thank you for all your feedback!

People are so quick to judge others when they should take a look at their own lives. Only God can judge us and it's not like the girl was really young, I know girls that have gotten pregnant at 13 and 14. My BF was 13 when she got pregnant. People shouldn't criticize other people actions because you don't even know the whole story. We all make mistakes but all we can do is learn from them and make the best of the situation. You live and you learn.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I agree with you. I was 20 when i got preg. 21 when my son was born. He's 2 now. I got married when he was 1. People always treated me like i was 'in trouble'. Even my husband's mother and sister were very harsh about it. They used the good old religious excuse - and i used the 'If god did not want my son here- he would NOT be here'. Eventually, his mom came around. I know, the sister never will.. but it's her choice to miss out on his life- like it was my choice to have him.
I can say, that for every person like that.. there is someone looking @ u, thinking about how STRONG you are.

I agree that the judgemental attitude is wrong. I think that sometimes young people make good parents. I have a friend who had a baby at 16 and she is one of the best moms I know even now, 19 years later.

I think it depends on the individual....both of my sisters had their children young and they are all very well adjusted and loved! I believe everyone is different and should not pass jusdgement on others until they have walked in there shoes...I started late but even if i did not I would never give either of my two little one up!

So I was just reading a couple of posts from some other members. They were talking about a young girl (early 20s) who got pregnant. They kept calling her irresponsible. They kept saying that she was too young to have a child. It turned out that she had a disease and had to terminate the pregnancy so I guess I can understand why they were so worried. I was 21 when I found out I was pregnant and I was 22 when my son was born. It wasn't planned but I was and am completely able to take care of my child. I guess I just got upset because they just kept talking about here like she was 16 or 17. My mom had me when she was 17... she got pregnant the first time she ever had intercourse... fun huh? Anyway, I guess I just needed to vent about this. Tell me what you think.
