I was sick last week, so let both my Yoga and meditation slide. Tonight I'll do a tiny routine, and will resume meditation in the morning.

Maintenance is as much work as losing, but it has the advantage of allowing us to do it in cuter clothes - BESSHAILE

Hi everyone.
My practice last night at the gym was good. I helped a lady who was new to our group and felt nervous and out of place. I encouraged her to listen to her body and only do what she could. It was a big class and the instructor had her hands full. I hope she sticks with it and doesn’t get discouraged!

Enjoying my Yin yoga challenge. I'm getting better at being still holding poses longer than I'm used to.

I got yoga blocks today. I've always wanted block, have hinted to family for my birthday and holidays for a few years. Finally bought them myself.

Thank you Patricia. We do not have fires in our immediate area right now. But I continue to pray for those in affected areas. Thank you for your care and concern. Our temperatures are supposed to go down next week. Santa Ana winds will decrease a bit. It’s been in the 90’s again and so very dry.
We have a tractor and keep our perimeters and acreage plowed. My husband often helps out neighbors by plowing their properties. We try to stay prepared and vigilant. As you well know, that’s all we can do.
Yoga helps settle the mind!!!!!
The instructor that is subbing only teaches one class a week, so I do know her. She is very nice and I enjoy her practices.
Tonight I practiced with her again (13 of 12-14) for my intention.

Last night Yoga was good. We will have a sub for the next 3 weeks while our instructor is on vacation and teaching yoga in Mexico. The sub teaches one day a week usually but she’ll teach all the classes. 12 of (12-14)

Sick after having an smoothie yesterday afternoon, it seems now I'm lactose intolerant! Feel weak this morning and my blood sugar is high so I decided to have a bit of applesauce, porridge and toast and my Jardiance to lower the blood sugar then by noon I'll do my Yoga practice. See how it goes.

Yoga practices at the gym on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (6 of 12-14) It felt good to be consistent.

Lots of fires near us with our dry conditions and Santa Ana winds. We are staying alert and vigilant. Praying for all those who have lost their homes. Fire fighters are such heroes!

I've been doing my tree pose for at least 30 seconds on each side since so last posted here, following Dr. Fishman's instructions. Today I added Supine hand-to-foot 1. I'm already doing several of the prescribed poses, but not with the required duration or emphasis. I'll add one "Fishmanized" pose a week, starting with the ones I'm already doing or familiar with until I have the whole sequence down.

Working my yin yoga. I actually did not follow videos this week, I improvised with poses I feel I needed using the fundamentals of yin yoga.

Great goals/intentions/resolutions everyone!

Back from Avignon and NYC. Interesting experiences, in both places. Unfortunately my husband, daughter and I caught a virus in Avignon and were sick for few days, we had to see the doctor for medications. Apparently a lot of people in town had the same stomach flu, doctor's waiting room was full. Had to wait 3 hours before seeing by the doctor.

The Opera competition was very good, all 80 singers at high level. Fantastic experience for my daughter.

Now ready to start this month. I've been doing the bed poses for few minutes every morning to keep my back flexible mainly.

Practice at the gym focused on chair yoga and use of the chair for more challenging poses (inversions etc.) 2 of 12-14 for my intention.
A 3 mile walk round trip to the pharmacy this morning was a great way to start the day!

Meditating each morning is helpful to calm the mind regarding family concerns.

Yesterday I made a list of Lauren Fishman 12 poses for osteoporosis. (He's got a video on YouTube and has published a book on the subject.) I will start adding the poses to my practice one by one, starting with Tree pose tonight - at least 30 seconds on each side.

I also added contacting the yoga teacher at work to my to-do list.

Maintenance is as much work as losing, but it has the advantage of allowing us to do it in cuter clothes - BESSHAILE

Tonight I enjoyed my first October practice at the gym. We focused on standing poses and balance and alignment. (1 of 12-14)

Prayed and meditated and got out for a 2 mile walk.

My intentions for October:

12-14 yoga practices at the gym, at my instructor's home, and at home. A former yoga teacher has just began posting practices on YouTube, so I will use her practices as well as DoYouYoga and Adriene when at home.

I will meditate and pray every morning for a min. of 15 minutes. I will meditate any time during the day that is necessary and helpful.

I will walk/jog a min. of 50 miles. So excited that the weather is cooler and I can get out at different times during the day.

I'm going to continue to do Yin yoga practices (2x week) this month since I was not as consistent as I would have liked in September.

I will add 1 night of meditation per week.

I've been thinking of this but just haven't done it, so October will be the month.
1. I'll contact a fellow employee who is a yoga instructor to get a little help in tweaking my home practice.
2. I'll attend the weekend Yoga class at my gym at least once this month. This weekend is out due to a doc appt.
