I appreciate your responses everyone! I will go through the door as long as she keeps it open. The fact that she chooses to keep it open to me is a good thing. I have figured out that the Word is my best response, so much of what my replies to her are nothing but pure scripture. Funny how little it can be refuted when you look at the truth of what is there rather than the wisdom of man.

lord gave us free will. Here in lies the test, we can choose god, or choose other. sometimes if we stop and think about it god gives us choices, how we choose is our choice, not gods, hence free will, we can choose to use things for good, or bad. you can't change the minds of some, but one is all you need. god bless you for trying. sometimes its best to just say god bless you and move on.

Just because God is all-knowing has nothing to do with our lack of free choice. That sounds like an excuse. I would ask her what she is afraid of? Ask her what she has to lose? If it doesn't work (salvation), she can always revert back. See what she says to that.

I believe we are all created in the image of God and designed to fellowship with him, to have an intimate love relationship with Him. I believe He could have created robots or automatons who would serve him because they are wired or programmed to do so. He chose, instead, to make us free agents so that we would choose not to prostitute ourselves out to foreign gods, but would choose instead to serve and love the one true God. Our DESTINY is to love and serve Him. Whether we choose to do so? That's our decision. As for me and my house? We will serve the Lord. We can, however, walk away from that grace at any time.

Who had a greater destiny than Jesus? Even He had to have a Gethsemane experience and submit His will to the will of the Father. Being destined for greatness is not the same as surrendering to it.

That said, your job is only to share truth, and you did with that powerful scripture. Now it's time to pray for the Holy Spirit to bring revelation to her heart and to simply love her wherever she is on the scale of truth and wisdom.

It may help to tell her what God's words says because His word will not come back void.

The Bible says, "whosoever" shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, (not just some in particular). love, Darlene

Yeah they do call it predestination, but it's hard to combat. Thanks for the scripture. I have used it, but wasn't sure where it was. 1st or 2nd Peter, or both had a lot of good ammunition too!

I think they call it "pre-destination". My first thought was to go to 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

I was thrown for a loop when someone said that God knew who would serve Him before they were created and that some people were created to be destroyed. She does not believe in choice or that God is loving. Nothing I say will convince her otherwise.
