Good morning everyone! I got in my first full workout last night since I started physical therapy and it felt good, really helped with the stress level too!

I finally had a good night's sleep last night and feel better today. I know I need to stay rested, eat right and exercise to help fight the stresses of everyday life, but sometimes it's hard to find the motivation. I got in a 45-minute walk with my friend last night, including one steep hill at the beginning. Hoping the rain will stay away so we can do another good walk tonight.

I haven't been walking in a little while but I've just been so screwed up. My sleep schedule is completely off. Today I woke up at 3p.m. after going to sleep at 6a.m. This totally just started happening randomly. Sigh.

I walked to my first day of class today. It only meets once a week from 6p.m. until 9p.m. It's kind of aggravating to have to eat so early, but o well.

Hopefully I do better tomorrow.

Just checking in. Finally got a walk in today and so far eating is okay. The sun finally came out now that it is almost time for it to go down. Have not been sleeping well at night - waking up at 3 a.m. and can't get back to sleep, so cutting down on the caffeine and hoping that will help.

Hey Everyone! It has been a few days since I've posted...I don't know how I am even functioning with how exhausted I am...emotionally, physically, mentally. Ugh. Hubby and I started marriage counseling today. Counselor is pretty sure that I am depressed...deeply. Could this be why I gained almost 20 pounds in the span of three months?! Probably! I guess the next step is getting in to the dr to get a good physical and see about help with this depression...
The weekend wasn't too bad weather wise. I was soo sick of all the rain last week, as I see a lot of us were! LOL! Now, it is hot and extremely humid, so I am really feeling BLAH!
ROSE~ Congratulations on the new addition to your family! I would love to get a dog, but am not sure if the landlord would allow it.
SUEMROE~ Why don't you swim in the pool instead of just lying by it? Swimming is cardio, excellent cardio!

Good Morning!

I am having the opposite problem with the weather here in Tucson, Arizona. It is sunny and beautiful, which is perfect for laying by the pool! Unfortunately that is not exactly cardio! lol I am totally off of my walking schedule, because the time of day that I normally walk is hotter than heck! I went out last night at 7:00 pm and that really worked out better.

Sounds like many of us are down from the wet, chilly weather...same here in Toronto. IMOFF, enjoy that heat you write about...we need some!!!! Its nice to be back here at my daughter's and will be great to get back home on Friday. The eating is going better, and I had a great workout this a.m., so hopefully this trend will continue!!! Enjoy the new pup ROSE, and MNNICE, hope you are feeling a little less overwhelmed and a little brighter.

Good Morning everyone! Cotton is keeping me busy, but I don't mind. I am enjoying the change of pace, but hoping to get back to my exercise routine tonight. I have a meeting at 7:00 so I think that I will work out for an hour before that. I am really hoping that it truly starts to feel like summer soon! I feel really behind in everything that I normally do in the summer because of this chilly and wet weather!

My computer crashed here at work so I am now trying to get a new computer all set up the way that I like it, this could take a while!

Wow, where is everybody today??? The day went too fast! We went out to a pizza buffet after the baseball game with a bunch of people and I ate more than I should have. Feeling kind of bloaty now. It was a bad week for eating healthy for me. Tomorrow is Monday and I will start fresh and get back to my exercise routine and also my healthy eating.

Imoff, good idea with the pictures! Sometimes we forget the progress we have made, and it's important to keep being proud of that even in the not-so-good times. This has been a blah day and even thought I didn't eat much, neither did I exercise. The weather was rainy all dayk so I got nothing done on my painting today,and I am just getting hit with stressors from all directions. Ever feel like you want to crawl in a hole and not come out until everything is rosy again?? lol Rose, the new puppy will definitely keep you busy. I'm not sure if I'll get another one or not.

Good Morning everyone! I just posted a picture of the newest member of my family. My husband decided that I needed a new puppy, I am not doing well with the loss of my Sammy at all and he thought that a new puppy would help ease the pain some. I think that it distracts me, but I really do miss her. The new puppy is a wonderful addition though and I will love him for his own personallity, he is just amazing! And adorable!

I have not been getting in my exercise this week, but I am allowing myself that this week with all of the stress. The latest is my computer at work crashed yesterday, so I am now using a new laptop! The good news is our IT guy managed to save all of my documents.

I went and walked a mile today. My legs didn't hurt that much which is good. Today was my official weigh in day and this week I've lost like 2 lbs. YAY! I'm hoping to see more weight coming off next week. I have decided to start taking pictures of myself every weigh in so I can see what a huge difference it will be when I lose weight and then if I get discouraged I can just look at my progress. I have to admit, I am a little tired of me...one day good, one day night eating...etc. Well, last night was not good at all, so here I go again. But we must continue, and not get discouraged and give up. IMOFF, congrats on the weight loss and good exercise program, you WILL see more and more results. MNNICE, hope that busy weekend involves some relaxation too. I am hoping to have a good healthy day and night, and hope you all do too.

That's the right attitude, Imoff -- accept that we all are going to overeat at times and just get right back to eating healthy the next day! The walks will help alot, even if you only have time for a ten-minute walk around the block, those add up, too! Glad you had a good day, Oaxaca! I wasn't able to get in any exercise but I did a LOT of cleaning after work, including vacuuming and shampooing carpets and washing cupboard doors/drawers, so that should count for something!! I am going to have a busy but nice weekend. I read that it is National Donut Day, but to all you Sparkers I say: Do NOT Donut! haha. Have a great day and weekend, team!

I just overate while eating dinner. O well. tomorrow I'll try to eat better. I have already walked a mile today when it was really hot and now Nick and I are about to go. I've been doing a lot better at this walking stuff and that just makes me so excited. Plus I weighed in yesterday and found out that instead of gaining weight since my last weigh in (which was a LONNNG time ago) I had actually lost some weight. That was a great confidence booster.

MNNICE, hope you are feeling better today. Stress can be so destructive, so everyone, try to find a moment to de-stress...even 2 minutes of silence can be of help. I'm doing fine, and yesterday did no late night eating. So far today is good too.

Tabby, don't think of it as trying to lose weight, but just eating what is best for your health. Stress can wreak havoc on your health so now is the time it's most important to get those good foods into your body! It will help you to be strong physically and emotionally. Imoff, you are doing so well on the walking - keep it up!! Oaxaca, you are doing well for being away from home. You are right, change comes slowly, but it does come if we don't give up!

IMOFF~ Good luck finding a job!
MNNICE~ I hope you feel better and can start tackling that ever-growing to do list. I also have a horribly long to-do list! With three kids, it isn't getting any shorter! LOL!

I am trying to be optimistic. With all the stress that is literally taking over my life right now, I am not going to fret over the weight not melting off right away. I think it will help to post and "talk" to all of you wonderful people! My husband and I are starting marriage counseling on Monday, so I hope that things will change soon and the stress will reduce significantly (in that department anyhow)!

It's time for bed and I'm just getting time to post. I won't get my food logged in for the first time in a long long time. I didn't feel well today, so spent most of the day sleeping after coming home from work early. Why do we always get sick when we have so much to do????? grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Feeling better now so hopefully will be a good day tomorrow. Starting to feel overwhelmed by a very long to-do list that seems to be growing! Haven't had time to get my exercise in, either, and I need to get back on track soon!

I got in another 2 miles of walking today!!! WOO HOO!!! I also woke up earlier than I have been which is great. I'm still looking for a job though which sucks. I'm hoping to be able to work some of the camps that are going on if there are any open positions left. Wish me luck!!!

TABBY, glad to see you back...if you can force yourself to keep posting no matter what, it really will help turn things around...I find the more I turn to what people here have to offer, the better I feel and the better I do...Hang in there!!!! I am still visiting my sis and am doing fine all day until I go into her freezer at night for the sugar free goodies...too many!!! But I must say this is the best I have ever done on a visit here, and am also keeping up on her treadmill...the changes come slowly, but they do come. I hope you all have a great day.

TABBYC I know exactly what you feel like. I was just there a couple months ago. You'll get through this period even if you gain a few pounds.

I didn't get to go walk tonight since there are thunderstorms in my area. It makes me regret not going earlier. Hopefully I can do an exercise video or something soon.

Hey everyone! I haven't been around much. I hope all is well...I am sorry to see that a few of you lost beloved pets. :( Things have been absolutely horrible with me! I don't know how much more I can take and my weight is definitely suffering because of it! I keep gaining and gaining, which in turn makes me even more miserable! Ugh! I need to get back on track, but I am afraid there are bigger fish to fry at this point in my life... I am just tired....of everything...

And Willow slipped away quietly in her sleep at about 3 a.m. I am so glad she went quietly without pain or distress, but she surely will be missed after 15 years in our family. Imoff, I always liked to just do short little bursts of runs during my walks, and now I can do the 5K, although I still like the short bursts better. Even in my youth when I ran track, I was a very fast sprinter, but never could do the distance races very well! Oaxaco, the treats could surely be worse, and it's good you have some of them with you so you aren't tempted by the stuff that is really bad. Tonight I am going to a concert with a friend, and we are going to eat at an Italian restaurant first, so there will be no diet-friendly meal tonight! But tomorrow is my birthday, so I will indulge and enjoy the tickets my daughter gave me as a gift as well as the Italian meal! Then back to the wagon tomorrow and exercise, too.

Oh, ROSE, so sad for you, but like you say, she went the best way...MNNICE...what can I say? IMOFF sounds like you are doing great...good for you. I am now in Chicago with my sister and her family...too many sugar free treats in the freezer, but surely a few too many of those last night was better than a big binge, but will try to stay away from them tonight. Loving the time with my daughter, but missing my own home and my hubby...warm weather would be nice too...its awful here!!! Hope the week is going well for all of you.

Rose and MMNICE I am keeping you both in my thoughts. It is a very hard thing to let go of our pets.

I walked a mile tonight with a little bit of running throw in just because I wanted to. I'm hoping that I continue going and walking every night. Summer school starts tomorrow. I don't have to worry until next week since my 1 class is just on Monday nights. Hopefully I won't get to stressed these next couple weeks.

MNNICE, I am thinking of you and Willow as well. Sammy passed away today at about 12:30 in my arms. She waited for my oldest daughter to get home and then let go. It was very traumatic, but I am so glad that she went the way that she wanted to. Now I just need to take some time to be sad and I should be ok in a day or two.

Thank you all for listening to my through all of this over the last two weeks, it really has helped me, probably more than you will ever know!

Rose, I may have to do the same. Willow just keeps hanging in there but if she gets in distress or pain I will have to have her put to sleep. It is hard to watch her go so slowly. I guess there is no easy way. My thoughts are with you.

Good Morning everyone. I just talked to the vet this morning, he said that it is time to start thinking about putting Sammy to sleep. I am taking the day off on Wednesday and my my second daughter and I will take her in. My oldest daughter is coming home today to say good bye to her.

My oldest daughter is getting married on September 19th, so we are in the middle of preparations for that right now. All seems to be coming together well for it.

Hard to be sparky with everything that is going on, but I am trying.

Imoff, congrats! It is so important so celebrate these positive things instead of just feeling bad about the downfalls, and also to be proud of your own goals! Keep up the good work! Oaxaca, just keeping getting back on the wagon. We will all have those bad times, but we won't let them turn into unhealthy long-term habits!!! I am so proud of myself. I started my period today and felt like being lazy. Instead of slacking on exercise I went with Nick and walked 1 3/4 mile and then ran most of 1/4 of a mile. Which is the most I've ever run outside in a long time. It was exciting. So all in all I got in 2 miles today. I'm hoping to repeat this tomorrow.

It's a sunny but cool day. Planning on getting some painting done on the house before going to a baseball game this afternoon. Waiting for hubby to get the rough spots sanded and primed so I can get to work. No chocolate last night except for a cup of SF Cocoa before bed. The scale was kind to me, so no damage done and now it's time to get on track with exercise, which I have been neglecting the strength training too much lately. Enjoy the day, everyone. Now my response for today:

I think I'm about to go and take a walk for a while. My food has been okay today which is exciting. I also got up at 10:20 somethign all on my own. YAY!!! This is an accomplishment for me since my sleep schedule was getting off again. I still haven't found a job which is kind of stressful. I did get my tax refund and it was $140 so that was helpful.

My niece came out for a couple days and that was nice. We all went on a walk last night which was great. I think I'm skipping my walk today just because I've been so tired. Tomorrow I'm going to try to get in a lot more exercise.

MMNice and Rose I'm so sorry about your pets. It was hard for me when my family lost our dog to old age.

OAXACA1 I had to chuckle. You and I had the same thought. Throw it away! I hate having stuff in the house if I am that tempted. I am glad that you have your computer access.

MNNICE, I was going to say to throw the damn chocolate out...glad its gone!!!!ROSE, just hang in...so sorry for this sadness you are dealing with.
I am ok, but did get into food last night...healthy food, but too much..went over my cals., and that never makes me happy, but at least not a horrible binge, and am determined to do better today. IMOFF, BARB, where are you? Have a good start to the weekend everyone.

Hang in there, Rose. It is tough. Have you had the daughter's wedding yet, or is that coming up now too?? Take a few minutes for some deep breaths. I ate too much chocolate again last night yet again -- 3 nights in a row. Well, at least the chocolate is all gone now, so I won't do it tonight, and I hope to have a healthy, active weekend!

Hey everyone! Having a rough week this week. I am force feeding my dog now, which is no fun at all and I have to do it four times a day. I am not sure that it is helping either. The vet said that we need to keep up what we are doing over the weekend and then call him again on Monday to decide what to do. This is not fun at all and I am afraid of the outcome!

I am getting my exercise in, but having a hard time getting all of my calories in. Just too much going on. I need to work on this!

MNNICE, so sorry you had a rough night again...just keep at it...you have come soooo far, you will be fine! So sad for you and ROSE with ailing pups...I know how dear our pets are to us. I am ok..last night hard, but got through by the skin of my teeth!!! Hope today will be easier.

Checking in. A beautiful sunny day here in MN finally, so I could walk to work today. Ate too much again last night after doing so well all day long. grrrrr. So back on track today and have a good day of exercise, too. Hope we can all finish off the week on a strong and positive note!

Rose, my dog too is not doing well. She is just very lethargic, won't eat, tail between her legs and just wants to sleep. She is 15 years old. I am just trying to hold her on my lap as much as I can, pet her, rub her back. I just sense she will just slip away peacefully in her sleep within the next week. So anyway, I think the feeling down about my little Willow caused a comfort food binge last night, but I am back on track today. Oaxaca, do the best you can - it's hard to keep things in as much control as we would like when we are out of our element, but as long as you can keep accountable here in SP you will be fine! Take care, team!

ROSE, I hope your doggy is ok...I am away from mine right now and I miss him dearly. MNNICE, busy is good, but you must take care of yourself..otherwise, nothing goes the way we want it to...my thoughts are with both of you. Thankfully, I am doing well, much better now that I am back in touch with all of you.

Rose, it is so easy when we are feeling down to just give in, but try to hang in there as best you can. I seem to be having more and more trouble finding the time to get in here and get my logging and posting done. Always so much to do and not enough time in the day to do it! Have been neglecting my strength and core worth too much and need to get back on schedule.

Good Morning everyone, I will be taking my dog to the Vet again at 1:15 today. She is not eating and I am worried about her, just not coming around at all.

I am not feeling very sparky lately. I am going through all of the motions, it just doesn't feel like it is there right now! I over ate over the weekend, lots of graduation parties to go to!
