Nice, Gail!! Did you two celebrate together, or did you get your own party?

" I don't recall how many, 24 or 28 maybe, but if that many are in a room, at least two will have the same birthday. " I've heard that too and don't believe I've ever found my birthday twin... yet. I missed it with Martin Luther King, Jr by one day, and he's not even around right now for me to offer to go hang out together and celebrate our birthdays. He is, however, a birthday twin to my stillborn sister. So that all seems richly ironic...

She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms.

yep I know -- I remember when we lived in NJ we went to the YMHA -- and I went to the day camp afflicated with them. both JCC's -- the one in Minneapolis and the one in St. Paul are much larger -- as are the YM and YWca's out here.

We got married 10 years ago and so we joined because my husband and step son wanted a membership there -- we have a fmaily membership. I am the only one who uses the place -- hubby will go to take a whirlpool once in a blue moon. I kind of miss the YMCA -- but the JCC is closer to where we live

Don't do that, Nu! You'll give people the wrong impression about my "leadership." Beside that, I am the team technidiot. All I did was take a look upon seeing ME-4-ME's question. She got my curiosity going.

P.S. to ME-4-ME: If the ticker suggestions don't work, the best place to ask for SP tech help is under the Community tab, above. From there, go to Message Boards and scroll to the thread "Site/Tech Help." SP staff and members will provide your answers in no time. (Asking for tech help in this team is like taking a combined rollercoaster-carousel ride from Point A to Point B. Our middle name is Tangent. [That's not really the word I want. It begins with "D" and eludes me at the moment.] See what I mean?)

Digression! That's it.

Found it! On your SP page, scroll down to "my ticker." You'll see a tiny, red legend to "edit ticker." Click and you're in.

ME-4-ME, best wishes on the challenge. If that's what brought you to this team, good.

As to new members introducing themselves, I don't know about a direction to use the wall-thing, but there is the forum, "Introduce Yourself to Team Forum" and its "sticky" topic, "Please post in this one thread to introduce yourself..."

So many instructions and dictates, so many introductions, so little time. Seems to me that people have the right to jump in however, whenever and wherever they choose.

It's been so long since I did it. Try going to your Spark Page, and look under "Spark Page Settings" or "Edit Spark Page". I tried on mine, but because mine is already there, I can only see how to change it.

See if that works. I suspect it will fall under the design of the whole page.

Nope it ain't easy. But what separates SP from the rest, is the incredibly supportive community. If you look closely at all of the most popular diets, they are essentially the same, with the same structure, save the community. That is the key piece, in my opinion.

So, pull up a chair. Have a cup of coffee. The urn in the back of the room still has plenty of fresh coffee in it. Have a healthful snack and put your feet up. Jump in anywhere.

We are pretty much harmless. But opinionated!

My brother who was the executor of our father's estate didn't do an itemized income/sale and debits/expenses sheet for all of us (which I probably would have done, had I been in his place). But, no problem, I'm just always curious. So I looked online and found the final sale price of our parents' house. Plus gorgeous photos of it.

And because so many "don't do walls" (windows, perhaps?), it is left to the rest of us to direct the newbies who labor under the impression, following the originator of this group oh so many years ago, that one is supposed to introduce themselves over yonder.

Google Earth is also worth trying for actual photos of places. It also has "Historical images" for some locations so you can see how places used to look back to 1998 I think.

I've known that google and the others will offer RE info upon entering an address. It's always come up when all I wanted to find were the cross streets. Recently, though, when I googled a long-out-of-touch friend to see if she and her husband were at the same place, I found that, two years before, they'd sold their apartment (the one she'd grown up in) for $2.3 million. They are such terrific people that they deserved it. Even with seeing where they'd chosen to move, I didn't get in touch. I wasn't sure if it was my goal when I googled them or if they'd simply come to mind.

You can also google the address and, if the place is for sale or has been sold within a few years, you can often find the real estate listing and see photos of the interior as well as find out the listed or sale price!

I didn't know about entering addresses at Google Maps. Having found a piece of paper years ago with the address my grandparents lived at for a little while when they married in 1908, I'd been curious, but not enough to go. Alas, Google Maps is either not 100% reliable or the house number on the front door is merely messed up.

Years ago I went to far as to call the P.O. that covers that address to ask if it's the same building. No one could help. Then I flipped randomly through an old Bklyn phone directory for people who lived within a block.. I actually called two, but they were no help. If Google showed me the correct address, it's definitely the same building.

I looked at both the house our parents built (where we lived til I was 7), and our house from ages 7 to 14 - both have undergone extensive renovations outside and are rather different. Well, the first house is way different!

We went to the house we sold a few years ago - they still get some random mail there, since we're registered to vote with that address. Very nice guy, and he always has random questions about the house. House looks the same, though they need some furnishings in there!

OMG I googled Google Maps, plugged in the address and there was the house!! but the way I remember the house, our house was on a mild slope, and the now looks like it is more street level. and yes, of course, when we heard Mark was moving to our area, we headed west. why we landed in Minneapolis/St. Paul, who knows. Actually, my father got a job transfer with 3M and wound up working in St. Paul for 3M

Had my last driving lesson before the road test. The instructor put me on the cloverleaf from the Deegan to the Cross Bronx. I had never done a cloverleaf before. It almost became my last time, too. Now there are ginormous signs pointing to where you need to go. Back then I took it way too fast and almost dove over it back onto the Deegan. Fun days.

Yeah - that web site and its companions in other locations has been visited more than once or twice.

Fun are the videos. Someone puts a camera on their dashboard and just drives the thing.
