I was a Political Science major -- went along with my Paralegal degree. I am glad I am not in politics and government right now

It seemed to many of us that he violated the Constitution and many laws way back during his campaign and early days in the office. But, well, I'm not in government for a reason.

I think Pelosi tried to err on the side of caution. There had to be irrefutable evidence to move this process forward. With mounting evidence and Trump's increasing brazenness to flaunt the law, I think she reached a point where she had no other choice but to begin the investigation for the impeachment process.

I know that some (emphasis on some) Democrats said they wanted to start impeachment proceedings early on, and I believe they submitted requests to do so. Some guy from Texas, I think? Ah, Al Green, from TX.

But things didn't (couldn't?) begin until Nancy Pelosi (as Speaker of the House) agreed to begin. (That's the part that I find a bit confusing, but, well, I find much of government and politics confusing.)

Nice succinct article about the events in Ukraine:

How come this is not so clear to the Republicans? They are arguing that the Democrats have sought impeachment since 2017 (and if this is true, why is this something that sounds merely like a political agenda? Never in the modern history of our country have we had such a corrupt president sitting in the Oval Office):
