my mother made me homemade ones on the sewing machine.
I had a top and pants that had a similar pattern with the one in the picture.
I rarely wore store bought clothes cause we could`nt afford them.

Wow, those are some pants!
Yes, I definitely had some bell-bottoms. My favorite pair was orange plaid, and they fit so cute.

Our Team Picture: Bell Bottoms

Bell-bottoms became very fashionable for women in the mid 1960s in Europe and in North America by the late 1960s and much of the 1970s, both for men and women. By 1967, they went from high-fashion to become part of the hippie counter-culture movement in the late 1960s, together with love beads, granny glasses, and tie-dye shirts, even getting mentioned in popular music, such as Bell Bottom Blues" by Blues-Rock super-group Derek and the Dominos in the 1970s, they moved into the mainstream. Sonny and Cher helped popularize bell-bottoms in the USA by wearing them on their popular television show.

Did you own a pair of bell bottoms?

My sisters and I watched as well. My middle sister got the Mrs. Beasley doll one Christmas. I have the retro doll under my bed because my mother thought I was the one that had the original way back when!
Anybody want to buy one? LOL

Hello Team!
Our Team Picture this week is; Mrs. Beasley.
From the 70's tv show Family Affair. A cloth doll with yellow hair and a blue dress with white polka dots. She has glasses that are drawn on her face. Pull the string on her back for one of several messages..."my what a sweet child," or "let's get some ice cream," or "how 'bout a little kiss?"

Our Team Picture; Disco in the 70's

Disco is a genre of dance music. Its popularity peaked during the middle to late 1970s. It had its roots in clubs that catered to African American, gay, psychedelic and other communities in New York City and Philadelphia during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The term "disco" became unfashionable at the start of the 1980s it was replaced by "dance music" and "dance pop" which described music powered by the basic disco beat.[

Our Team Picture this week is, the 'peace' symbol.

The olive branch is an ancient peace symbol. The dove and olive branch was used by early Christians and became current in the 18th century. It was popularised by the artist Pablo Picasso in 1949 and became widely used in the post-war peace movement. In the 20th century, the peace sign, developed by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, the V hand signal and the peace flag became international peace symbols.

Wishing everyone peace today and always.

Wow. Those things bring back a lot of great memories. We used to drive our parents crazy with those. Imagine 5 kids in the same room banging those things together. The ones we had were called 'Click Clacks' and I remember being disappointed when they took them off the market because there were a few cases of when those glass or hard plastic balls would break or shatter and caused eye injuries.

Our Team Picture is; Clackers.

Clackers is a term that refers to a vintage toy which was briefly popular in the early 1970s. Its name refers to the fact that its point was to have the two balls of which the toy consisted of clicking against each other. It was similar in appearance to the Argentine weapon known as bolas.

They are formed out of two hard plastic marbles, each about two inches in diameter, attached to a ring with a sturdy string. The player puts his or her finger in the ring, allowing the marbles (or balls) to hang below. Through a gentle up-and-down hand motion, the two balls swing apart and together, making the clacking noise that give the toy its name. With practice, it is possible to get the marbles swinging so that they knock together above the hand as well as below.

Our Team Picture is; The Transistor Radio

A transistor radio is a small portable radio receiver using transistor-based circuitry. Following their development in 1954 they became the most popular electronic communication device in history, with billions manufactured during the 1960s and 1970s. Their pocket size sparked a change in popular music listening habits, for the first time allowing people to listen to music anywhere they went. In the 1970s their popularity declined as other portable media players such as boom boxes and portable cassette players took over.
