We had a big long discussion about watching our sugar intake on the sp plan -- it's been hard for some of us but we're striving for surviving! This pic reminded me of how some of us feel about our sweet treats --- key word here is "treat" --- not to be confused with a daily thing!!!

I'm back from my relaxing weekend away! When I weight in Wednesday at Weight Watchers we'll see how I went this weekend. I think all in all I've done ok. I was considering going back to weighing every single day as well, but now I think I won't do that. Weighing once a week seems to work better for me.

Did not get to do any extra exercise while away so today I did some gardening, pruned my roses and watered etc...when I came home after I unpacked.

Anyhow have to get some other things done now. Enjoy the rest of your day everyone and stay safe with all that wild weather you seems to be having. emoticon emoticon

Yes, it rains here in Naples, Fl! We're having the wettest winter, ever! It's not normal for it to be raining so much this time of year..........summer is our rainy season! And the winds have been horrendous! I did not get out to walk yesterday.........I stayed indoors & made comfort foods! I hope today's a better day! Stay safe out there y'all !!!

Tracked everything yesterday. I get a little lazy around dinner time but did not let that defeat me. So today I simply need to repeat. We are still looking at taking the trailer to the coast depending on the weather. Probably wonít leave until Wednesday or so if we go. It looks like we will get a break in the weather, but it changes so quickly! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Debbie ~ Had my meeting yesterday. If you can afford it, I think the meetings are very helpful. I plan on going weekly even after I meet goal (which I will do this year). emoticon

Sandy ~ Very productive day for you. I have never had to deal with snow and it is not on my bucket list either. I am a sun and beach kind of girl. emoticon

Rose ~ It rains in Florida? emoticon emoticon

Have a smoothie planned for breakfast and then to my barre class. The rest of the day has several options to choose from!

It's been raining here in Naples, Fl so I've been getting to the gym at the Y or fitness room here where I live. Not my favorite, really........I'd rather walk outdoors. Today, it's so windy! I'll do my best to get my steps in. I know other parts of the country are struggling w/the snow & blizzards........stay safe out there y'all! Put on a pot of soup & stay cozy & warm! Have a good weekend all!

Made some coffee and now I am just waiting for the kids to come home from school. So my day is going good so far. Right now we 55 outside. My son called me and he getting hit with that snow storm back east. I told him to be safe and stay warm. I don't miss the snow one bit. For those who getting hit with the storm please be safe and stay warm.

Woke up to a rainy day emoticon . We thought about going down to see the kids but decided driving in the rain is not the way to start the trip especially since it will be raining all the way there. Driving 5 hours in the rain is not on my to do list! So we may still be headed to the coast with the trailer on Sunday since this visit is out.

Paula ~ I love the beach. Enjoy! emoticon

Soup sounds good-think I'll make some! When I stepped outside to walk my dog this

Tomorrow at this time the nor'easter will be upon us, and stick around for over 24 brutal hours. I just had neck surgery one week ago, so can't be involved with snow removal. I am well provisioned, stores won't be open for 3 days, then they'll have to await new stock to sell. I hate the limitations of weather, particularly snow.

Lucky you Terri to have a cleaner! My mother has a cleaner also. Thank you for the suggestion re tracking exercise in WW. I'll give that a go! emoticon

Lots to do today for me it is our Australia day long weekend here in Australia so going away up the coast for 2 nights tomorrow stay with family near the beach which should be nice. Planning a BBQ dinner for one of the nights so I had best get to organising it all. Have a great, positive day all!

Still getting back into the swing of things after being out of town last week. Exercise is going good and with a bit more concentration on food choicesÖ.right! emoticon Today the housecleaners are here. Luckily for me, hubby stays home and I can go to my circuit training class. When I come home, voila, the house is clean. I feel so fortunate to be able to afford this luxury. No gym for hubby today. It is his day off. I may just finish my workout at home. Not sure yet.

Sandy ~ Be proud! Getting back on track is a huge accomplishment. And keep on spinning. It is fun to see the days add up. emoticon

Rose ~ emoticon

Jane ~ What I like most about the SP is that it is keeping me away from sugar. And I need the help!! emoticon

Ronnie ~ How is your new job and schedule going? emoticon

Lindajoywk ~ Simply Filling has a new name now but it eludes me. It is where you eat certain foods that you donít have to track and have your points to use daily for those foods that donít fit that category. If I were you and not attending meetings, I would seriously use that 24/7 chat option for the additional information. emoticon

Wintersdream ~ It is working! Even if it is in your subconscious. emoticon

Debbie ~ I like the new program because of the focus on sugars and fats. I think that was missing before. emoticon

Paula ~ I would look for something similar like cardio and choose the light/easy option. It will be close enough. emoticon

About time to get my booty to class.

emoticon Rose for your reply. The Smart Points system so far is working well for me.

I eat pretty healthy most of the time. We eat organically and I grow some vegetables and herbs in the garden. My downfall is my portion sizes and exercise (mainly due to hip arthritis). The points make me aware of my portion sizes and make me stick to measuring and weighing my food which in the past I always gave up on. lol

I joined weight watchers meetings and not only online as I felt being accountable to someone else each week who will weigh me in will make me stick with it! Who wants to go to WW each week knowing they've spent money on WW program to know they've put weight on before they go right? Rather a waste of your money, time and a tad bit embarrassing. So for me it'll work great and is so far in my first 3 weeks.

Maybe as far as tracking SP exercises video's on WW site goes I'll just pick something that is very similar same intensity and length etc. and track that each time.

I'll be tracking food and exercise on WW site and just exercise here on SP as I find the SP food tracker too time consuming for my busy lifestyle.

Sorry if I have rambled on, Thanks again Rose for your reply! emoticon emoticon

I have no idea how you would track Sp videos on WW's. Sorry. And I've tracked both WW's & SP & I prefer SP. It's my preference........I like knowing how much fat & carbs, protein I'm eating. Many people find the point system better because it takes the guess work out of choosing foods. You do what's best for you! Try both for a while & see which one you prefer. It's all about you! Good luck!

Sounds like you are doing awesome Sandy!!! Good for you! emoticon emoticon emoticon

You could always try some of the spark video's on the site for some exercise if it's raining and you can'tgo for your walk. I can't walk to far due to hip osteoarthritis so I've been trying some of those especially the 15 minute Qi Gong routine and some chair exercises. I just adjust them to suit my level ability and what I can comfortably and pain free do.

Well it been raining most of the day here. But was able to walk the puppy before it came down hard. He doesn't like the rain. So it hard when he has to go potty you know. I manage to get 8 glasses of water in three days in a row. I am very proud of myself. I also log into spark for 11 days now not bad. If I can't use the computer I use my cell phone. The spark app is great. I can even blog and spin for points. I love the new spark app. Well time to get dinner on so I will chat with you all tomorrow.

Hi everyone, just a quick question if I may.

I've just finished doing the video 11 minute seated cardio routine from coach Nicole here on sparkpeople does anyone know on the WW site how I add this into my activity? It's not listed there of course so how would I add it in as a custom exercise or activity? Does anyone know?

Many Thanks,

I haven't been here in a long time. I'm returning to WW. I heard about the SP's. I'm thinking of signing up for online. They have a deal going on now. It's about 60.00 for 3 months. The sign up fee is waived. Who is doing SP's? Do you think it's better then PP? I know they have changed around the point system and how they count points now. I'm thinking of signing up tomorrow.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while , Life has been rather hectic here . But on an UP note I lost 6 lbs since the last time I weighed in , So I am definitely happy today. last weigh in 3 wks ago I was 238 and I have not been following my WW PP , but I guess I have done enough that subconsciously I kept myself eating in a certain range , cause I sure felt like I was pigging out every day. I just didn't keep track of it most of the time.

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone. Am looking forward to chatting with you all and making new freinds.

emoticon Good morning everyone!

I am up early and ready to face the day. My schedule switches this week due to starting a new job tomorrow (and though I am super excited about that), my potential work schedule means that I will need to switch days/times/locations.

I usually weigh in on Wednesdays, but now may change it to Sundays, starting today (if that is possible since I weighed in on 1/13).

Congrats Sandy on your weight loss!

Jan, is Simply Filling an option for you? It sounds like you are already eating many of the types of foods on the list (and therefore wouldn't have to count them ūüėČ).

Went to meeting this morning -- it has been an extremely gray day here and everyone at the meeting was in a gloomy rut! We were all complaining about not being up and at it - in a funk - dragging (and sagging!) - just one of those days and it was messing with all of us! We have had rain and temps around 33 - not cold enough for snow - not warm - damp - no sun --- mercy! It sure makes it harder to be merry and bright! We had some good discussion in spite of our overall mood --- it's January! that's for sure!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend -- I'm doing well tracking, but still not sure if I totally like the smart points or not. I find myself having more carbs than I did before -- the light English muffins, pitas, bread -- they all fit into the smart points nicely and with chicken being lower, I'm having sandwiches vs the salads I would have had. But time will tell . . . . I know of others who have stayed on the pp - so it's always an option!

Finally, we went and upgraded our phones yesterday. It took FOREVER emoticon and we didnít change anything. But it is done and I like my new phone so far. It took me a few hours after we got home to get it just right. I still need to transfer my music but I ran out of gas.

This tracking thing is working for me. Who would have thought emoticon I know it is the key, I just get lazy, donít really want to know what I am eating, (place excuse here), etc. The decision to track using WW and not SP for right now is working. I am actually choosing not to eat something because I donít want to track it. The timing is right for me.

Today is my morning circuit training class and I still have some workout challenges to complete. Didnít get any done yesterday. It will probably be a gym day for me and hubby since he took yesterday off.

Rose ~ Whatever works for you, right? emoticon I may go back to SP when I hit goal. But I definitely needed to make a decision. Track on both for me was not working.

Lindajoywk ~ I looked it up on the WW app but there were several choices. My suggestion is to use the 24/7 chat and ask emoticon . I havenít done that yet, but my leader swears by it.

Off for the other half of my smoothie I made the other day, a banana, then to my class.

I started WW online with a coach because I felt I needed a little extra help and meetings
were hard to make...we had our talk last night & I found out the WW products that I had
been using were still listed as Points Plus and that the Smart Points were actually higher!
I didn't realize that the points had not changed on the boxes-makes a difference!

Also, does anyone know how many SP those Flapjacked products are? They show up on
this page so I'm curious!

I decided to stop tracking on WW's & only track on SP. It bugs me that I don't know how many carbs, fats, or proteins I've eaten in a day. It's too easy to get off track when I only track on WW's. I notice I'm not getting in my good fats....anyway, I do prefer SP.

Have a healthy Sunday!

Happy Saturday morning,

Yesterday was a day off for me. Hubby and I went to Bass Pro and I bought a new pair of pants and a very cute sweater vest with a furry edged hood. Also picked up some super cute workout socks. Now that I sometimes work out a couple of times of day (instead of trying to squish it in all in one session), I find that I run out of socks emoticon a bit quicker than before. Plus they were so darn cute!

Today will be a grocery store trip after my morning barre class. Not sure what the rest of the day has in store but I need to back into cleaning out our one bedroom that I teasingly call our big closet. I want to get the house listed sometime this year and hubby will be motivated to work on his to do list if he sees me working. emoticon

Rose ~ Glad you are loving your Fitbit. I am looking at their new watch. HmmÖ. emoticon

WintersDream ~ Welcome to the team. I too will reach my goal weight this year. I have been trying to track on both WW and SP but am not doing well. So after having a talk with myself, I will be tracking on WW only, at least for a while. Our fearless leader always has some kind of challenge going that helps keep us focused. Good skill to you in your journey (I donít like good luck because you are in control!) emoticon

Jane ~ I call it the STRONGend! emoticon

Off for some oatmeal before my class.

Glad you found us and welcome Wintersdream! We have a nice blend of peeps here on this team who are dedicated to their weight loss journey. Everyone is so encouraging and willing to share ideas, tips and even slips (!!!) --- I hope you find us helpful and motivating. I totally understand what you are saying about the WW community and have heard the same from many others. And I agree that there's no place like sparkpeople for SO much info, teams, recipes -- it all works well with our WW programs and I love that there's a gigantic resource right here all in one place!

If you like challenges -- be sure to stop in and join us for the January Challenge -- it's all about adding something good to your daily routine and subtracting something not-so-good as well --- it's a win/win --- plus/minus --- little things that are done faithfully every day CAN make a huge difference!!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday! It's the weekend.................. let's make sure it's not a WEAKend!!! staying strong -- no excuses -- doing what's right is pure delight!!!

Going strong with my fitness routine and working on my eating. I start the day tracking always looking at the smart points values but not continuing that through the day. Most days I have a plan for food (breakfast and lunch for sure). Dinner can sometimes be a challenge. One step at a time. I know I can do this. emoticon

Today I will be trying a TRX class for the first time. I have done TRX with my trainer but that is a 1:1 experience. She is the teacher so I feel confident that I will like the class. Yesterday I did my first circuit training community class which she is also the teacher. Very cheap ($25/month 2X/week). emoticon

Jane 2B ~ I do like the ease of the points, but I also want to know about the calories and other breakdowns of what I am eating. I like that WW is now looking at sugar. Kills me because I am a sugar ant but I know it is important. emoticon

Leader Jane ~ I am with you! emoticon For the sweet treats, I have gone back to my sugar free jello and whipped cream. It is basically free unless you overdo the whipped cream.

Rose ~ I will hit my goal weight this year too. We can do this. emoticon

Nancy ~ I would need to track better to answer your question. But I do love my glass of wine and often use 5 points for that luxury. emoticon

It is an oatmeal morning before my TRX class.

So, I don't eat a lot of high point foods. At the end of the day, I have at least 9 points left. I'm not losing anything, just standing still.

Thinking of adding some oil/nuts to each meal.

I get 30 sp a day. I also get 21 weeklies, which I only used during the holidays.

How does everyone break up their sp through the day?

~Nancy

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions for low point sweets? Most of my go to sweets are now high in the smart points program -- I know there are things that are sweet and yet low, but I haven't found them yet! Thought I'd ask and see if anyone has had this same issue.......

I am brand new to the board. Not sparkpeople, and I have tried weight watchers before. I am lured in by the new Smart Points, but frankly I do not Like their Online board. I will use it for tracking but I really do like spark better. Just not crazy about the calorie counting. I need something that helps me make better choices.

I am tired of lying to myself. I am ready to set boundaries and own my life. I want to treat myself like the treasure I am.

the JANUARY challenge has been posted!!! hope everyone will go join us and ADD/SUBTRACT some good/bad things from our weight loss journeys!!! Since we are all getting used to the new smart points program, I thought it was a good time to think about what needs to be adjusted -- what to add? what to subtract? -- there's always room for some adjustments --- I know I sure need an adjustment or two! why is it so hard for me to get RE-adjusted to doing things like I know I should/need to --- and so doggone easy for me to become UN-adjusted!!! I've been slacking and sloppy this month and it wasn't at all hard to get THAT way --- but getting back to being on target/focused --- oh my!!! it's like I have no idea how!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful last day of 2015 -- I'm trying to get things in order so that come Friday -- January 1st --- I will be ready to take on the new year! Cleaned out a cupboard today, got my healthy groceries, prepped my fresh veggies --- making plans and following through --- that's my key to success!

Good morning all.

So a few days of normal here. Today I have my trainer and tomorrow we will grocery shop for the week. We will spend NYE with some friends going out to dinner and then dancing at a local restaurant close to our home. They live over an hour away so will be staying the night with us. Good news is no bad food will be in the house! emoticon

Nell ~ My fridge is good too. I have a leftovers bag to take to my Dad. But it is all bagged up and no chance of any bites being removed. So you are a happy football fan? emoticon

Jane ~ You always come up with such great challenges to keep us on track. I prefer the simple short ones. They are so much more manageable for me. I am also on the 5% challenge and these two combined are very helpful. No SW movie for me. I did get to see the new Chipmunk movie with the granddaughters last week. emoticon

Rose ~ I love my Fibit. My granddaughter got one for Christmas too. She is 10 and is running circles around me. It is fun for her since we live so far away. And fun for me too. Are you back on track now?

Cari Jane ~ Stay safe!

Hubby is making oatmeal. Time for my healthy breakfast. emoticon
