Watched some 9/11 programming on the history channel and it brought back the same feelings I had on 9/11/2001. The feelings of grief and sadness were overpowering so I got off and went upstairs and did some decluttering in the big walk in closet in my bedroom. In the afternoon, DH and I went to my daughter's for a belated birthday cookout with my children and grandchildren. Had a wonderful time and the weather was very Fall like and beautiful.

Played with 4 grandchildren in the park in the morning, pushing them on swings and catching them on slides. Read more of my book, a mystery; then drove an hour to visit with my sister and later on, with a friend over dinner. Drove home to a beautiful, red sunset. Ended the evening curled up in bed watching Winston Churchill on PBS. What a sweet day, and all pure pleasure.

I took a much needed nap, later curled up in the recliner, read and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

There was a moment of remembrance and reflection before the soccer game today. Always a moving sight when the veterans in the crowd salute the flag.

I did a bit of yoga, walked along the lakeshore, and looked at the sky at sunset.

After the 5K I ran at a local zoo, I sat in the back yard and stared up at the clouds, reflecting. It was the first time I noticed the edges of the clouds swirl ever so slightly, change shape and disappear. It put my place in the world in perspective.

I took a short nap as well!

I walked 6+ miles this morning, curled up on the couch , took a nap, read a self help blog, looked at the sky, listened to the birds, had me some unsweetened green tea, hugged myself, stretched, prayed, laughed and danced.

My church has an annual Blue Mass honoring policeman, firefighters and all first responders. The mass is always very moving but I noticed today that the number of those who were at ground zero is declining and I was sad. I prayed for those who lost their lives fifteen years ago, especially the ones whose lives intercepted with mine. I went home and took a nap. I was emotionally wrung out.

I took a walk through the woods with my journal...counted my blessings and took some time to reflect and honor those we lost 15 years ago.

i watched the clouds and found figures ( mostly animals) in them. it was peaceful and i spent the last few min remembering the day/

wrote my gratitudes. i was to be flying home from miami that morning and it could have been a plane i was on so it made it even more powerful in my memory.

so sad and this country still is losing so many lives to violence. i wear a safety pin each day as a symbol of the prayer for safety for blacks for gays for children for police etc.

Take a moment of silence on the 15th anniversary of the 911 tragedy. Today is Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance. We responded to unthinkable tragedy with an outpouring of service and goodwill. Keep that spirit alive!
