Hi ladies! Sounds like the perfect fall day. My mom and dad used to let us invite a friend during certain outings we had. It just added so much fun to have a friend come along. My favorite memories are riding in the back of the truck to visit my grandparents who lived about an hour away. We loved riding in the truck, and that was a fun time in itself. We would ask each time going if we were going in the truck or car. That was one of the first things I'd tell my friend when I'd call to ask her to come along..."Hey, we're going to visit granny and pa this weekend. Ask your mom and dad if you can come along. We're taking the truck." lol I think we enjoyed riding in the back of the pick up more than we enjoyed going to the movies, bowling, skating ,etc. lol

So far for our chocolate bar fundraiser, we bought one box for Daniel at the Mile Long, then Joy Center purchased 6 more boxes, most were sold before they even went home with the kids. When I went back to Sam's Club, I stopped by the other store and bought 5 more(all they had) and Friday I purchased 8 more boxes. We have about 3 boxes left, and only one of the boxes went with a child whose parents work events. We really haven't even tried or been anywhere. I have people posting on FB with their order, then they pick up at Joy Center after the kids fill their order. I pull from the boxes to make sure we have what they want, then I put them all in a big box for the kids to sort each order. They put the paper order and name, then place the bars in the bag to fill it. They really enjoy doing this. Some other Joy Center staff will be going next time since I don't have to go to Murfreesboro again for a while. There's also a store about thirty minutes from Joy Center where Sue goes occasionally. so it's not going to be a trip just for candy bars. We are going to continue doing this as long as they are buying. I know it will eventually fizzle out, but just like any fad, we are going to earn what we can while they are selling.

Daniel's appointment went well. They're not finding anything wrong with the ear itself, but he does believe him when he says he's hurting. He suggested physical therapy because he said sometimes when you have poor muscle tone(Daniel's head always hangs a bit to one side) that the muscles in the neck can get 'twisted up' so to speak and cause sharp pain? Another thought with the sore throat was acid reflux. I am leaning more toward the muscle theory since it is only the right ear and right side, even when he complained of his teeth. He will also be getting a CT scan of his sinuses on Wed. Physical therapy on Tuesday. It seems a little odd, but with all doctors saying his ear itself is fine, I am open to all theories. I'm so glad he didn't just pass us off and ignore concerns. We go back to see him in November, and if the other suggestions don' offer any answers or relief, we will go from there..

Halloween is not looking good still. Monica, a forecast that Sue pulled up online showed snow flurries. High is 57 that day and the lows are in the 30s. Wondering if it is going to be one of those days where the high is at midnight or super early morning hours as the rain comes in, then it just gets colder by the minute. All weather announcers are reminding parents to make sure they bundle the kids up for trick or treating. We will see...Friday is supposed to be pretty with no rain or snow. We will continue to watch timing and make a decision.

Y'all be good. This is going to be a good week for reaching my goal. I sure blew it....two days last week running after chocolate bars...lots of running, just running in the car instead of my feet.

Have a great week!

Deb

Hi Team,

Life is busy and good! We have been having the beautiful weather that everyone thinks of when they think of autumn. We are outside and enjoying it while we can. Yesterday, we made a trip to the apple orchard and did all fun activities the farm had set up as well. The girls each brought a friend with them so we had a van full of giggles on the trip there and back. Good times.

Glad the Joy Center fundraiser is going well. I bet Daniel loves having a table set up to sell the candy bars and he can visit with everyone who stops by. Will you reschedule the Fall Festival for another time? How is the forecast looking now for the Halloween Bash, Deb? We have snow showers in our forecast for Halloween. Still time for the forecast to change several times between now and Thursday.

Deb, I agree with you on the Jessica Smith videos. I have done repeated attempts on some videos and each time, I am able to add in a few more of the challenging moves or at least not burn out well before its time to be burnt out. That is a neat way to measure my improvement. Nice to have the variety to choose from on days when we have to exercise inside. I am always grateful that I discovered her website.

Make it a great day!

Monica

Hi girls! Hope you're all well and enjoying life.

Things here have been extremely busy lately at Joy Center. I mentioned picking up a box of fundraising chocolate(World's Finest Fundraising) bars at GFS before the Watertown Mile Long and let Daniel have a trial run to see how well they might sell. I wanted to get there rather than order a minimum of $300 worth and be stuck with them if they didn't sell. Needless to say, they were a hit. He sold out the same day at the mile long, then Joy Center purchased 6 more boxes for certain VIPs to sell. Two of our students whose parents have offered to help sell, have sold out before the box even made it to their home. I bought 5 more for Joy Center on Tuesday, and we sold out today. The same child whose mom was going to help was sent home with a box of 8 out of 50 candy bars left. lol...Caleb and I will make another run to pick up 7 boxes with orders already being taken for the kids to fill if they have any left at the store. The same child's mom wants another box...we will see if it makes it to her or not. lol

Joy Center was going to have a Fall Festival this Saturday, but we now have a 100% chance of rain...anywhere from 2-5 inches on and off all day, so we have had to cancel. The kids were really excited, and we lots of people were asking if we would have our candy bars there. :( Oh well, safety first.

Halloween is also not looking great right now, but things can change quite a bit in the 7 day when it is still a week away. Hopefully, if it does rain, it will rain early or super late. I've been so busy, I really haven't stopped to get my list for our Bash made out yet...busy is good, though.

I have already blown my exercise goal....Tuesday was spent running to pick up candy bars after the bus route...it was busy from the moment I woke up till I went to sleep that night, so no exercise that night. I have still been enjoying my walks, just didn't want to exercise too late and then be too wired to sleep.

I enjoyed the Jessica Smith workout, although I had to modify some of the movements on the cardio abs. I was proud of myself, though, that I jogged and did knee lifts each time I couldn't keep up. It is something I can do, I just should have watched it first. I haven't tried the actual walking dvd yet...still trying to squeeze in my walk outside for another week or so before the time changes. I really liked her motivation skills and being peppy, but not annoyingly enthusiastic. lol Sounds funny, but I also liked the fact that she was somewhat out of breath on the 4 minute tummy tabata ? shows that it was a good, quick workout, but challenging and effective, even for a fit instructor as she is.

Not much going on here. Buying chocolate, selling chocolate, repeat. lol

Hope y'all have a great weekend.

Deb

Hi ladies! Monica, your walk seems perfect!! I was just picturing Little House on the Prairie where the girls were running through the fields of tall grass and wildflowers in the opening credits. Relaxing family time makes the heart full and grateful, doesn't it?

My sweet husband came home this morning from a yard sale. He was so excited as he was carrying a big bag, handed it to me and told me to close my eyes. Bless his heart, he had bought two pairs of converse, one pair of uggs and one pair of mule type dress crocs. He was thrilled because he knew I had been wanting some converse for a while, but just don't want to pay full price. However, none of them fit. They were all too big. I'm guessing maybe the converse was men's size. They said the other shoes were an 8( I wear a 7 1/2 usually, so I could have worked with an 8, but they were actually a 9. I felt so sorry for him, but I was thought it was such a sweet gesture. I think he was more disappointed than I was. Alicia bought them for what he paid ($2 a pair) and was thrilled with them.

We had to replace some of our timber lining the front of our house this year, too. We also had to replace our raised planter out by the mailbox. We've had them for several years, so I guess we got our money's worth.

Excited to see an ENT on Tuesday for Daniel. I am ready for answers. On a brighter note, Daniel complained very little today. He woke up this morning saying, "Better, momma." I was thrilled. He's been in his room most of the day content with his usual activities. We asked him earlier if he wanted to go to Ollies about 35 minutes away, and he jumped at the chance. He began with, "Oooh, yeah, momma." Then continued with, "Chips? Dink?(Drink), Raw? (Drawing pads and pens") Of course, momma said yes. He got $15 to spend. Needless to say, he spent it all and then had to buy Zelda Louise a chew toy, too.

I was hoping my grand niece's birthday party would be at the same pumpkin patch on the Alabama line as before, but they're having her party at church tomorrow. My mom and I will be going...We may just have to ride some more and see what we can get in to....Maybe? I don't know...Gotta go back to work on Monday, and I sure have been living up the 'sleeping in' part.

Going to log my workouts. I was very surprised today when I went for my walk. I was feeling a little sluggish as I was walking...I felt great all day, just full and not at my best speed....not really feeling the walking as I usually do. I had been averaging only about 3.5-3.7 mph, but today when I finished, it showed a 3.9 average for that walk! And I thought that it was sluggish. I used to walk quite a bit faster, but then I got fat and old...lol

Not much else going on.

Y'all be good.

Deb

Hi Team!

Happy Saturday! What a full and busy week it was. To wind down. Last evening I invited the whole family to go on a walk with me. We walked through the nature preserve that is just outside of town. Nice lake, wooded areas, and restored prairie. The wind was whipping, yet it was about 70 degrees Fahrenheit so it was not too cold. Being out in the wind and hearing the dry leaves and dried prairie grasses rustle was so pleasant. We got back to our car just after sunset. My heart is full!

Wishing that answers for Daniel's ear ache come soon. I had to look up the name of that part of the ear -- Eustachian tube. I could neither remember nor spell it either, Deb. You raised my curiosity about it.

We are going to rebuild one of our raised garden beds tomorrow. The existing bed has been there for 8 or 9 years and the wooden supports have rotted out. We made it through this season and did not want to chance it any longer.

Make it a great weekend!

Hi girls!

Monica, I know that quiet time is priceless!! I have ALMOST gotten up an hour earlier or so over fall break for some extra quiet time, but then I pulled the covers back over my head and changed my mind. lol...I do seriously enjoy it, especially on Saturday mornings. I enjoy coffee and certain television shows that come on, or I will watch some of my favorite recorded shows.

Funny, Our mornings have been cooler, then it has been warming up during the day. Caleb had a lightweight hoodie on today. Even though it warmed up, he still wanted to wear it to fish. We got there, and he began to take it off. I asked Sue if she thought it would be okay or if he might get too cold...Mind you, everyone else in shorts and short sleeves...I'm in shorts and a lightweight longsleeved shirt. Sue kinda laughed and said,, "I think he'll be okay, Debbie. You do know it's 80 degrees today?" I thought there was no way, but she said her car read 80 as they were pulling up. I didn't notice my car temp thing, but if it wasn't 80, I think it was supposed to be close. lol..I'm not going to survive this winter! But, Monica, I do know that down jackets are sooo warm. My friend from Michigan had one, and we traded briefly...She needed a dressier one, and she left me that one for my every day work. I was working in the cafeteria at the high school, and I had to work in the freezer for that 9 weeks. I remember getting hot with the coat on in the deep freeze while I was working...good stuff...someone knew what they were doing!

June, I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Hope all is going smoothly. Any new news on your nieces and your brother? Hope all is okay with everyone and one niece is continuing to thrive.

Daniel went back to the doctor today....crying with an ear ache. I told the doctor that this has been going on for quite a while, and although I know nothing about the anatomy of the ear, something is going on. I felt like it wasn't draining properly. and just in a sense, getting trapped in that tube between throat and ear. They are scheduling him with another ENT to possibly do a CT scan of the sinuses. She agreed something just wasn't right because neither his ears or throat show any sign of infection. Daniel had reconstructive craniofacial surgery when he was three, and that ear is malformed anyway, so I feel confident something is going on with that small tube that connects that starts with an "E" and I can't pronounce or spell. :) Hopefully some answers soon...but that would make sense that it is always on the same side when he complains of his teeth or ear hurting.

Y'all be good!

Deb

Hi Team,

Way to go, Caleb! So happy to see that you and the kids got out to fish today. I am bundled up in a down jacket at our public library -- waiting while oldest DD is taking her dance class nearby. Then here is Deb in shorts and flip flops! Looks like you had a beautiful fall day. Many blessings to count for sure.

I am enjoying the quiet time at the library. After a busy day of meetings, having an hour to myself is a treat!

Make it a great evening!

Sue, Caleb, two more of her boys and I all went fishing today. Sue caught one, and Caleb snagged this one.

Some days, like today, I realize how blessed I am to be able to get paid for fishing, shopping, carving pumpkins or drinking Starbucks.

Thankful for so much!

You know what, girls? Y'all know I'm not one to brag, but considering I have very limited artistic ability, I thought these turned out much better than expected. I was wondering if they'd even look like the pattern. I don't know if y'all have ever tried these, but for me anyway, no matter how much time you take on poking the holes along the pattern, they still always seem to jumble together. The Star Wars looking thing Daniel chose one year amazed me! I thought there was not way it would look like anything that was recognizable. It was my favorite. Gonna see if I can find an old picture of it to compare previous years.

Y'all be good.

Annual Pumpkin Carving Festivities at the Wooden household once again. Here are the results:

Daniel, of course, chooses the most difficult pattern in the book...the scary face.

Caleb doesn't care as long as he's got popcorn. lol

Life is good.

Hi ladies! Hope you're all well. I always forget about Canadian Thanksgiving being in October. I get it confused with Independence Day for both countries that are both in July...I think :)

June, we were spraying for just bugs/spiders/ants in general. Around here, brown recluse spiders are pretty common, and we have trouble with ants in the spring sometimes. Our neighbors across the street have been getting water bugs inside, and her house is always immaculate. We really haven't noticed anything at our house, but the spraying treatments come free with Daniel's Tenn Care every three months, so we're just trying to be proactive before we have a problem. So many houses being torn down around the college getting ready for some new construction, and that sometimes creates problems for nearby houses concerning pests. Several years ago, they tore down an old barn, and I think we got every one of the field mice that were living in it. lol...We eliminated them fairly quickly, but not a good feeling when you see evidence that those rodents have been in your house and cabinets. Uggh..

Our hot dog event went great! The rain came before we had to leave to set up and it ended up being a beautiful, but chilly day. We ended up clearing about $400. I thought it was a good amount, considerably less than last time, but much more than expected. Usually there is an excursion train that stops..I forget how many people it holds, but it is usually full at the Spring and Fall Mile Long sales events. Back in the spring, we were bombarded with customers from the time they let off the train at 10 until about 2pm or so, then things slowed down. This event began so slow that we were second guessing ourselves and our decision to do it. They are working on the tracks this year, so the train did not run at this event.Thankfully, about 11 am, people began getting hungry and it was a fairly steady stream for a couple hours, then bursts here and there until about an hour before it ended at 4. We began slowly cleaning up about 3:30 in case of a straggler here and there, then was able to hook up and leave by 4.

My boy went with us(he had a choice to stay with Melissa)...I felt so bad for him. He had an ear infection...again. He had a dose of another antibiotic and some other meds to help him feel better. By mid day, he was chatting up a storm with vendors, and you could tell he was not quite himself, but definitely perking up and feeling some better. He hung with us and sold World's Finest Chocolates for Joy Center's Disney Campaign. After paying me back for the box, he earned $33. He sold all the bars, then made close to the same amount in tips. (Each box has 50 bars, I paid $32 for the box) My boy is quite the salesman. I've even had several friends ask when he is selling more who want to buy from him. Looks like I will be making another trip to GFS to buy a few more boxes.

June, my favorite feature with my old stove was my timer where you could set it in advance to come on and turn off when needed. It probably wouldn't be something I would use if I was away from the house for very long, but I did feel comfortable using it if I was outside or had to make a quick trip to the bank or something a few minutes away and had neighbors who would be at home...you know, "if you smell smoke" lol I also used it when Melissa would be here so she didn't have to remember to turn it off while I was on the bus.

I tell you what...I guess people are the same all over the world...especially politicians...Promises, promises, promises! Can you believe any of them? And when they don't live up to the promises, it's always someone else's fault.

I am going to add my exercise minutes in a bit...I think I fell short since I didn't walk Friday night...ended up helping hubby with the cart and getting things together.

Y'all have a great day!

Deb

Hi Team,

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am eager to hear all about the event with the hot dog cart. I bet it was a lot of fun. A lot of work, too. Bummer about the day to the lake being disrupted by the spraying company. Hope the rest of your fall break went better, Deb.

Glad your new stove was installed as planned, June. You must be enjoying have all the burners available for use now. Your trip East is just around the corner. Glad you got your votes submitted in advance. It is important for us to participate in our elections.

The exercise thread is posted. Join in if you are able!

I am making time to regroup and organize this weekend. It is part of the normal flow of activities that comes with midterms!

Make it a great day!

Hi Team !!

My stove does have many more features than the old one, and will take time to figure out. I haven't heard of the washing machine that can be filled with detergent for 40 loads !! Sounds interesting. No fun when unexpected visitors arrive at an inconvenient time. What were you spraying for (or against) Deb? How did your hotdog day event go? I hope the weather was cooperative.

I want to join the next exercise thread, I can't believe I have missed 2 in a row, sometimes time flies, I think I am a bit behind and can catch up in a day or two, and - whoosh - 2 weeks goes by. Deb, good for you for doing some running stretches with your walking. Monica, I am impressed with the variety of the Jessica Smith workouts, looks effective and fun.

We had sunny chilly weather and the full moon was beautiful. Canada has a federal election on Oct 21, DH and I just voted in the advance poll because we aren't going to be home on election day, we are visiting Eric and later Shiloh with her family, the boys named Oak and Sage. Canada went from Conservative to a Liberal government in 2015, the Liberals made a crazy amount of promises last election and they got a huge majority government. So many spending promises to stimulate the economy for their first 2 years in office together with the promise to balance the budget after 2 years. Spending went crazy, no balanced budget, this time around the Liberal leader is continuing to make more spending promises but no promise at all to balance the budget at some point.

It is Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend, Marina is working, Eric is in Montreal, so just Silvia and Carson, DH and I. I bought a nice turkey breast, we don't need a whole turkey, DH and I don't need to be eating turkey leftovers for ever. Just 4 years ago, Eric brought Molly for Thanksgiving at our place and we met her for the first time. Molly doesn't get Monday off, so she isn't coming this year. I think it is Columbus Day in the states, isn't it? But perhaps not a national statutory holiday.

Hi girls!

Y'all, I don't think they do make anything like they used to...More expensive, but less reliable. I don't remember my parents ever replacing either the fridge or the stove. We have had at least three since we have lived here(24 years?) I saw where they have a washing machine now that you put in detergent and you can wash up to 40 loads of laundry. I guess it distributes it out with each load. I don't know much else..I was pretty intrigued by it, but I am one who will use it till it breaks, too, so it may be awhile. And I couldn't care less if they match or not like some I know.

Midterms? Not sure if they're more stressful for students or teachers.

Well, it is supposed to rain on our event Saturday, but the set up fee( $100) is non-refundable, so we are going for it regardless. I told hubby that people have to eat even in the rain. Maybe some will pull out and we'll have less competition? Who knows? We will see, but we knew going into these events that it will be a hit and miss the first couple years until we see how people react. Regardless, it will be another learning experience.

I had a really fun day planned today for me and Caleb. We were going to have our usual outings, but take our lunch to the lake and fish for a couple hours, too. After that, he is usually ready to relax a little, so we were going to come back to the house and let him chill on the front porch. He and Daniel both could sit out there all day.

On our way to the lake, I got a call from Terminix that they would be coming out to spray. I had spoken to this guy a few days before, and since he lives in Lebanon, but most of his clients are in a different town, we were going to be his last stop on his way home. So, I'm thinking 5 or 6 pm.??? No, he calls to let me know it will be between 3 and 4 pm. I'm freaking out cause my house is not ready...I had originally planned to clean after we got back from fishing while Caleb was chilling. Needless to say, we did not fish, but my house is semi clean...clean for me anyway.

What was odd about this whole thing is that Daniel's insurance through Tenn Care Choices pays for this. The company that sprayed before had chosen not to renew their services with Tenn Care. The worker had come out before while we were at Joy Center to spray, but the insurance had set it up, and I knew nothing about it! I was a little annoyed when he called to tell me he was at the house to spray. I lied and said we would not be home till quite a bit later because my house was a disaster. I couldn't believe that they would send someone out without a confirmation from the homeowner? Yes, they tried calling, but with so many scams and telemarketers calling, I don't answer unless I recognize the number. Anyway, that is over and all is well. Any bets on how long my house looks like this? emoticon

Not much else happening. Sue and I walked the past two nights, and I got to enjoy my Sunday night walk, too. The weather has cooled off considerably compared to what it was. Saturday was supposed to be in the mid 80s, but they were way off with that day in the upper 90s, too...It poured Sunday...yay!! We sure did need it! I wore a light hoodie yesterday...my pumpkin run hoodie and loved it! Although still not a fan of the cold, this weather does allow you to walk earlier since it had been so hot and humid until later in the evening.

Guess I will go! Y'all be good!

Deb

Hi Team,

June, enjoy your new stove. I bet there have been a lot of additional features added in the last 15 years. That is the length of time that we have had our stove. So far, so good.

Yes, midterms are here. We have small group meetings with the freshmen in our department in a few weeks. It will be interesting to hear the stories of their first months on campus.

Make it a great evening!

Monica

Hi team!!

The chill and dark mornings of fall are here. Today I am getting a new stove. I took so long to decide on what to get. My old stove has only 2 burners working and was unfixable at 15 years old. I can't remember growing up that my mom ever had to replace a stove, I guess they don't make them like they used to.

Have fun with fall ball Deb, I'm envious. That does look like it could be related- the location and incidences of the cancer. I wonder if it is being investigated.

You must be approaching mid-terms soon Monica. Always an intense time for freshmen. And the profs too.

Lots to do today, busy is good.

Cheers

Hi Team !!

Winter garden greens, that is awesome Monica. You have to play a kind of shell game when Caleb stays over night Deb. Caleb must have been a bit confused, that's kind of funny. Good thing he usually doesn't realize and Daniel thinks he has gone home. Hopefully your new arrangement will work.

The funeral today was positive in general. The girl was a committed Christian and her friend giving a eulogy commented she reached the finish line first. The tributes were very touching. Nevertheless, her mom especially is struggling a lot and still in deep shock. There was an overall sense of her life being short but well lived. One the one hand, she did reach the finish line first, on the other hand, it is hard to believe and accept she has left us and we will never see her again in this earthly realm.

Hi girls! Hope you're all well and enjoying life! Life is good here.

Perfect weather tonight for our last game of Fall Ball. I actually wore my long sleeve lightweight hoodie tonight. I was the only one there wearing long sleeves, but who cares? A little nip in the air after a long, very hot summer.

Enjoy the garden greens and veggies, Monica! We have turnip greens planted in the back lot. They are very healthy for you, and the whole family likes them, but after putting a slab of hog jowl or fat back in them, they're not quite as healthy.

June, I hope your neighbor's family is doing as well as expected. How sad. I hope y'all had a great Celebration of Life for her.

I think the boys are asleep. Daniel doesn't want to go to sleep till I tell him Caleb has went home. He doesn't like for anyone to stay the night, so we have to play it off that Caleb is leaving while he's really asleep. I usually wait till Daniel is away in his room, then talk loud enough for Daniel to hear, then pretend to tell Sue and Caleb bye. Caleb usually sleeps right through all this due to his meds making him drowsy, but tonight after I tell Daniel that Caleb has left, I hear, "HUH?" from Caleb's room. I may have to move things around a bit and put Caleb in the other room next time.

Not much else happening here. Fall break is here, and I am ready for it!

Y'all be good!

Deb

Hi Team,

That is sad news about your neighbor, June. Praying for the family and community. Devastating for the parents.

Deb, that is a puzzle about that particular cancer. I wonder if anyone tracks cancers by location to be looking for trends or sources. The research part of my brain kicked in to try and find something with a quick search but I came up short.

June, the pizza you described must have been wonderful. What a guy!

We had our first day of autumn weather. Lovely! This is my favorite season. The fall greens and the snap peas are doing well in the cooler weather. I do not get out to our garden as much as I did in the summer. I took a walk around the backyard this evening to check on things. So relaxing to be outside.

Enjoy your fall break, Deb!

Hi girls! Looks like you're all busy and enjoying the small blessings of life. June, I am so sorry about your neighbor. Such a tragedy at any age, especially when it is sudden and unexpected. Hopefully she did not suffer.

I have noticed something that is quite concerning to me lately. There was a 15 year old boy in Cannon County who passed away from osteosarcoma a few days ago. There was also a little girl(maybe 7 or 8) from Cannon County who is battling the same bone cancer. Micah also lived in Cannon County, which is a bordering county of mine and where mom and dad lived for a while, too. From what I have read about this particular bone cancer, only about 800-900 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with it each year, and about 1/2 of those are children. So, that averages out to 9 kids per state overall.(Kids only, not adults) Tennessee is not even in the top ten as far as population is concerned...I think we may be 16th or 17th...somewhere in that range, and we have three kids in this small county with this certain cancer. I don't know...just thinking out loud, I guess. Of course, I don't know when each child was diagnosed, other than Micah, but it seems strange for these three recent occurrences in such a small county.

Ok, girls, I will freeze this weekend! We finally have some fall weather in the forecast. upper 90s today, then down in the 80s and even 70s for the highs. I can actually say I am looking forward to it.

Yay for husbands who cook dinner and do dishes! I love when mine does that...it doesn't happen a lot, but he does have a more physically demanding job than I do so I don't expect it much.

Glad you're able to go to bed early, Monica. I always say I am going to when I can, but usually end up sitting up till about 10:30 or so regardless, then regret it in the mornings when the alarm goes off. That should still give me enough hours of sleep, but since my sleep is interrupted with bathroom visits, a little earlier bedtime would be a good idea.

We are planning on fishing Saturday..maybe pack a picnic lunch. We have ball tomorrow night, nothing that we have to do on Saturday, then Sunday will be church day for Caleb and I will take him home after church and lunch. Fall break from my bus begins tomorrow after my route!

Not much else happening...gotta go to Joy Center.

Y'all be good!

Deb

Hi Team!!

Busy week for me too. And Wednesday is the busiest day of my week, so I asked DH to make pizza for supper and he did, I got home around 8pm, and the pizza was ready. DH had already eaten earlier, it is nice to come home to a home-cooked meal. He makes pizza from scratch, makes the dough with the help of the breadmaker machine, puts on toppings of tomato, mozzarella cheese, black olives and artichokes and prosciutto. It was very delicious and I was starving, so that made it extra special and delicious.

On Friday we are going to the funeral of a neighbour, a 17 year old young lady who died in a car accident. So tragic and unexpected. We feel sad for our neighbours, her parents and sisters and we feel grateful for our blessings.

Deb, crazy heat. You could go fishing with Daniel and Caleb this weekend :) Is it still hot at your place too Monica? Meanwhile in Alberta, the province east of us, they had a snow storm and not all the farmers had finished harvesting their crops. We are having regular October weather, chilly nights, sunny days but not warm at all. I am wearing long underwear under my coveralls when I go to the barn in the morning.

Keep moving, drink your water, make it a great week and y'all be good !!

Hi Team,

Deb, thanks for getting the new month started. Wow -- 99 degrees! Glad that Daniel had a good report at his dental check up.

I am beat -- weekdays are full and fun. I have learned to turn in early so I am ready for the next the day.

Make it a great evening!

Hi girls! So, for a lot of the country, this has been called Hotober lately instead of October. 99 degrees today here. I waited until 6 pm to walk so I could be done before dark. It was 96 when I left, but since the sun wasn't beaming down, it was comfortable.

Not a lot going on here lately. I will have Caleb this weekend, but I'm sure we'll find something to get in to.

Daniel's dental appointment went very well. There are no new issues with his teeth other then his grinding habits. They didn't seem to think whatever pain he was having was due to his teeth. Maybe sinuses, maybe something going on with the ear, but in a spot where it feels like a toothache? Who knows? Not sure what is going on. Hopefully just allergies. Maybe after the possible rain this weekend, all will settle down.

Guess I will go for now and catch up over the weekend. Such busy days now trying to cram everything into the day as we are losing some daylight in the evening.

Y'all be good!

Deb
