I remember when this team use to be chatty.

I like to walk. My favorite park to walk at is Lemon Bay Park in Englewood, Florida (OMG - people will be able to find you now - well - I blew that when I made my signin my name :). I walked over 3 miles this morning at the park.

My second favorite place is Maxine Barritt Park in Venice, Florida which has a 2/3 mile walking trail around a small "lake" along the ocean. Wife and I love this park. This evening we did a lap and half, watched sunset and half lap back to car.

Good Morning! What a great time to be alive in a nation at peace with a great economy! Went for my morning walk and according to my Fitbit Charge 3 I walked 3500 steps. A bit shy of my goal for the walk but that was probably due to the decision to skip part of the route because I didn't feel like doing it. The weather was great - blue skies and palm trees with temps in the upper 70s.

I am retired (retired at 54 - a bit of a funny story I'll share later). I am in good health - no issues other than my weight, vericose veins in lower legs so given my lifestyle - that amazing.

I have changed my lifestyle as planned when I moved to Florida. Now I drink more and eat more fried food. Was not what I was aiming for. I am a lot more active! I started last week cutting down significantly on fried foods and alcohol (We talking 2 beers a day and a pitcher or two at neighborhood bar with food once or twice a week - cutting down to occasional beer).

Have a great day!

Ain't that the sad truth RKOTTEK! My hope is that one day we as a culture will quit looking for quick fixes or solutions. Long term solutions and planning are the way to go!

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing." - Muhammad Ali

Good morning everyone!

Just curious, has anyone tried the massage beds at Planet Fitness? Been thinking about getting a membership there as it is starting to get warm outside and I prefer to walk in cooler temperatures. Debating if the extra $$$ for the access to those beds is worth it.

2000 for a phone is preposterous! I don't see why anyone would pay over 200 for a decent phone, I really don't.

People can be so crazy on their phones in public it gets embarrassing for the rest of us. Just the other day a lady was talking about her period in the doctor's office and she was so loud they finally asked her to go outside. We all clapped when she left in a huff. but jeez.. be aware of your surroundings why don't ya?

Well done is better than well said.

I was thinking about getting a stupid phone instead ;)

I don't know why they call 'em smart... I can't see 'em in the sunshine... the new one coming out is going to be $2000 dollars! Really? That's 1/2 of what I paid for my 1st whole brand new car! and now the little buggers follow & tattle on everything we do... I want a stupid phone again!

Ive not been here in quite awhile, the beginning of last summer--I think.

Happy Valentines day. emoticon

Someone asked about those gloves that allow you to swipe your phone/tablet/computer. They DO work. I have a friend who bought a pair last year and said that they DO work, and VERY well. She loves them!!

I've heard people say they tried to make the riced cauliflower into a crust... I might try one from the store - heard they have 'em in the freezer. kind of an amazing idea ~ considering when we were kids all we usually had were cooked/boiled in water on top of the stove.... there are sooooooo many other, yummier ways to do veggies!

How did you like it? emoticon

I was searching for fusion something (might have been mediteranean fusion) and stumbled across the idea of grilling a slab of cauliflower on the bbq - tucked away the idea for summer... can brush spiced oil/marinade it before grilling. I'm looking forward to trying it.

they suggested a large head of cauliflower and use the rest to "rice" and cook like a pilaf.... their recipe included slivered almonds and barberries. I have never heard of barberries. googled substitute for that and came up with lemon or tart cherries - wildly different but got me thinking about the riced cauliflower again.

our grocery has it in the bagged veggie section... I haven't tried it yet though... not quite sure how I would use it... pondering it though... would love to hear ideas!

Finished by not adding anymore for the evening other than oikos yogurt with two tbls yogurt. Done eating for the night at about 1400 calories give or take. I made chili based on hamburger left over and didnt have an accurate count added a can of rotel diced tomatoes and chili's and a pakage of taco seasoning came out good also a can of chili beans had 1 cup went back for 1/2 cup and added only 2 tbls sour cream and 1/4 cup cheese. Wasnt sure of exact calories around 600 but anyway tracked as best as i could i wanted more later not going to lie but said no and waited son came home later and enjoyed the rest :) made me feel good I had something to offer him :

emoticon emoticon takes awhile to get the tracker set up with the foods & new foods we're eating but it so helps me... I track when I'm building a meal usually - and enough is still usually less than I want or would usually dish up... in a pinch when I'm struggling for more... sometimes adding salad/broth soup/veggies are some of my go to bulk it up so it's bigger/more satisfying helps me...

I like the idea of decaf coffee too... I think I'll pull out my tea stash

thanks LIFECHANGZ Day one accountability: I kept tracking and am done eating for the day. Had a craving for sugar tracked 1 ounce of egg nog and walked away from the urg to eat candy kisses still here from christmas. I made it through the afternoon and although I thought I'd try for 1500 with excercise I still did well considering. I decided ahead what I'd have for supper and had it in the tracker before I ate and still wanted something so had decal coffee with creamer. Some things will need to be tweeked but I'm on my way! close to 1600 calories for the day!

Home now 3 days after 3 months in hospital. Weight is still going up due to fluid retention emoticon have to make better efforts in sticking to daily fluid allowance. My skin is driving me mad too, as the ointment hasnt been correctly or fully applied, and the skin is like parchment in areas.
I have a busy schedule early next week with followup appointments, the podiatrist and my social group being on the agenda.

emoticon Busy Busy week ahead here! Life is so busy right now, just trying to get in alternative holiday workouts - dancing to holiday music while wrapping pressies ~ this is 1 of my fav things :)

emoticon the grey clouds parted and it is sunny, bright and cold here again! Time to find some warm woolen mittens! Little furbaby likes us to be outside with her... I have started to do little bits of exercise while she sniffs her backyard world... to my surprise, I enjoy those moments now, especially when it's sunny... but mittens are my mission this week!

Hope you all have a wonderful week :)

Jules, I love holiday movies, but I draw the line at lifetime movies. To me, they all seem the exact same movie.

Diet is going well. My box from Thrive Market came yesterday. I went to SAM's Club today and discovered the hard to find Coconut Oil is stocked on their shelves. Yes indeed, I picked up an extra one on the spot.

I enjoy TV but maybe it's my age, the quality of the shows, something, these days I tend to watch a lot of HULU NetFlix etc. Plus I disconnected cable over a year ago. I don't miss it.

I need to go to Walmart. Hate it, but it seems to be a necessary evil to accomplish my stocking stuffers.
