I don't believe that there's any scientific evidence to the 8 cups a day rule, so I listen to my body. I know that I drink more water at work-we have water and ice machines all over the place. I've started bringing my water bottle filled with green tea with me when I work, which is 3-4 days per week. We also get water from the foods we eat especially citrus fruits and watermelon. I do make sure that I drink plenty of water if I'm working out or if it's hot outside.

I'm the same as Alykat. I keep a 32 oz bottle at my desk at work and refuse to leave work until I've filled and emptied it twice. Normally once at lunch and once in the afternoon. When i get home, ill normally have another 24oz bottle with me to my workout, so i've hit my 8 glasses a day, and then i'll have either water or a pepsi max with dinner and sip some more water as the night goes on. I'd say i get around 100oz a day.

I try to drink at least 9 cups of water a day. Lately I have had to add Crystal light or something like that to help me get the water down. Gulp! As a rule I always get 8 cups down each day plus 2 mugs of coffee and maybe 1 diet caffeine free coke. I don't normally count my other beverages in with my water total though.

I have a 34oz cup that I keep at work. I try to drink 2 a day. That ensures me of getting at least 64 oz a day. Then when I come home, I keep at 20oz cup and refill it 2-3 times before bed. I do go to the bathroom 1-2 times a night, but it doesn't bother me much.

there is an article on the mayoclinic website too that talks about alternative water sources as acceptable too, like drinks, soups & salads are foods with a lot of water in them that help meet water needs.

personally I average about 6 glasses a day, more when thirsty, less when not thirsty. I don't try to force it, but it is usually my beverage of choice. I have cocoacoffee with breakfast, sometimes milk on cereal and occasionally a diet soda or iced/hot tea once or twice an occasional day.

I get thru 3-4 12 ounce glasses a day of water plus ice. I also have a large iced cofee. My legs start swelling if I skip too much of the water.

I don't believe in having to drink a specific amount of water. (Unless you have a medical problem then it's up to your doctor.)

I drink three tall camel bak water battles full. My water bottle holds 32 ozs and I fill it up three times. I also have two mugs of coffee in the morning and a Diet Coke for dinner.

My dietician recommended 8 cups of water a day as my minimum (so 2 Litres) and and a max of 4 litres (of course, I'm Canadian, so I think that translates to 64 to 128 oz of water a day... give or take and I apologize if I am converting it wrong. lol!)

Apparently even 4 litres is a bit much it can stuff to your kidneys, so that is why she said that would have to be my absolute max.

I have no idea the exact amount of water I drink. To be honest I don't measure it. I drink an average of 7 glasses of water a day.. the smallest glass holds about 10 oz the larger 16.

I hate drinking water but I get a lot of ice and drink it until all the water and ice are gone then I refill.

I drink about 100 ounces a water a day, give or take. I too find that if I have a soda, I'm not as likely to get all my water in. I don't mind it - I keep a 32 ounce bottle at my desk and try to do at least 2 if not 3 during work, then another 1 or 2 at home. I find that after a while your body gets used to all the water and I'm not going to the bathroom as much - but still way more than if I'm not drinking all the water. emoticon

I have heard so many conflicting information on water intake. I have heard 1oz for each pound of body weight. That might be fine for a normal sized person, but I would need to drink 33 glass of water a day, lol. I love water, but thats just not happening.
I drink at least 12 glasses of water a day. I aim to drink 4 glasses from the time I get into work in the morning till lunchtime and another 4 between lunch and end of day and then another 4 once I get home. I use Crystal Light and love it. I have always been a big water person anyway and I rarely drink anything else like soda. I find when I drink even one diet soda, I have much difficulty getting the water in.
