Thank you, Tami....I have Autonomic Nervous System Disorder and things in my
body can go wacky for no reason..like my blood pressure will go up, then suddenly
come back down, so they can't medicate me, or my heart rate will go high then suddenly
low, I do not produce saliva or tears in my eyes, so I suspect something is off? I feel
weakened like when your potassium goes too low but I checked that and have also
taken an extra one of those. So, we'll see if it is something or a passing stage.
Thanks so much!!!

Gretchen, I am so glad you have a good church family. We do, too. And it means
so much. We are actually on vacation right now, I made my list of meals and ingred-
ients, then someone from church gave us two meals to help out,, so I change my
list of ingredients needed to bring along, then a couple days later another lady sent
home 3 meals plus a couple of other things, so I changed my list again. Then right
before we left another brought a huge meatloaf and had fried up some bacon for us
(my husband loves bacon) and so I changed the lists again. So we have all these
frozen meals that I can just pop into a crockpot to heat up and that is all I need to do
as preparation. I am so blessed even when I am not feeling well. :-)

Proverbs3128 - I hope you find some comfort!

Today I'm so thankful for my church family! There is such an energy there right now and so much love and care across the congregation. Our pastor just had a baby and she's out on leave, but you wouldn't know. The laity are just stepping in and taking care of business and each other. I pray that others would feel that kind of love and belonging!

Wow that sure does sound like you are coming down with a cold or flu. Take care and hopefully you'll nip it in the bud before it really takes hold.

Today I am feeling really rough, not sure if I am truly sick, I have some weird things
wrong with me so they could be the cause, but I feel so hot yet I am freezing inside.
So being thankful is a little more difficult today than some days.

I am so thankful for my computer that gives me access to Sparks and to other friends
by email. It is amazing what we can do today compared to years ago.

Have a great day! Love and prayers,

Congratulations, Tami!!! How pleased you must be. Always remembering that time
should definitely help each time you are tempted.

Gretchen, it sounds like you are doing well. Hope things continue going so well, enjoy
your Christmas things. I have mine up to, I always thought it was ridiculous but it' takes
me so long now to get the stuff out that I have to start early. Hope your next couple of
busy weeks go well.

Good for you Tami! Nice job and hopefully it's just the beginning of successes for you!

Today, I'm thankful that although we had a few things on the calendar, we were able to get a TON of stuff done around the house. We are travelling for karate tournaments the next two weekends and for Thanksgiving and my husband has some major travelling coming up for work, so we broke all kinds of rules and starting setting Christmas up today, because there really isn't time to enjoy otherwise. So today I'm thankful that I get to enjoy Thanksgiving and an extended Christmas holiday!

Blessing to you all today!

nov 5th - Wow, what a revelation this quick one-nighter to hubby's convention turned out to be. I'm SO thankful to SparkPeople, and all my Spark friends for helping me along the journey, and my supportive hubby too. Not only was I able to swim for 4 hours today without real pain (okay I was exhausted, but that's what I was going for), I was also able to walk all over the hotel, several times during the day, most of it dragging my suitcase around because check in wasnt until 3pm (thankfully they made me a guest pass so I could get into the pool locker room and pool area so I swam all day even though I wasn't officially checked in yet). I had stopped going to conventions with Bob because walking around hotels was just too painful for me, and that wasn't even lugging a huge suitcase and computer bag with me.

Everyone!

Thanks for sharing your blessings! My goal for trying to get this started is to help us
all realize how blessed we are! We have so much, but because we are use to what
we have we do not even "think" many times to be thankful for it.

But this is becoming a blessing to me in a different way than I thought....I know I always
enjoyed hearing people's testimonies in church, but I guess I wasn't thinking this
would have a similar effect. It causes me to pause and ponder. Each one's blessings
or thankfulness makes me think upon how rich I am, too. Even more than I was
thinking.

For example, Tami sharing about her house.....I couldn't help but think about how
old our house is, like my husband sometimes says it is falling down around us, and
it feels that way sometimes. We rent, we have never been blessed to own a home
but God provided this place for us over 20 years ago after the previous blessing
ran out. It is old, it needs a lot of work, but you ought to hear the winter winds
blow around us (but outside) while we are semi-warm :-) inside. The roof is still there,
yes, we add plastic to the windows in the winter to help out some, it use to be a one
room school house converted into a house. The rent is low, we finished raising our
children here, all of our grandchildren play with the toys in Grammy's closet, they
crowd around the table at holidays although there are too many to do one table now.
It's windows are old, but I love looking out them and seeing the leaving ramble down
from the trees above, or the snowflakes flutter to and fro as they tumble from the sky.
I love the deer that meander out of the woods, and squirrels that romp amongst the
trees. My house of memories is filled with treasures of the heart. Tell me, how could
I be richer than I am?

I am no longer very mobile, I leave my little cottage for doctor's visits and they are
many, last week was three times and this week three times, it gets ever so tiring.
Yet, I am rich because of those I know, I am blessed. I am also blessed as I see and
meet people on Sparks, they affect me and encourage me and I see or feel things
I might not if it wasn't for you.

Another example is Gretchen, first, I love your picture, it cheers this old heart!
Secondly, (in my mind's eye) I see you.....I see your daughter.....I feel the joy, it thrills
my soul to think of the two of you preparing the meal together. We did so much with
our children, we homeschooled them and spent lots of time with each other, but even
at that we learned how quickly time zooms by. Treasure your time with your girls.
As I see you laughing with your daughter, winning her heart for a later even more
significant time when you need to be that influence in her life, you are making such
wonderful memories. Oh, the family meal, how that is a thing of the past, a family
that sits down and eats a meal together and actually talks to each other, now that IS
being rich, ever so rich!!! Those are the things your children will remember down the
road.

For me? Thankful for today? Its you, you have made my life richer just by being you!

Thanks so much for sharing, I love you all dearly,
Love and prayers, Proverbs3128

Proverbs3128 - I agree that the fall leaves are majestic at the moment. My drive home from work this afternoon was breath-taking! I'm so thankful that my youngest daughter and I were able to work together to prepare and healthy meal for the entire family and we were able to sit at the table together to enjoy it!

I'm grateful for my house (for those of you who don't know me, I don't 'love' my house where we're at now, but I need to remember to be grateful for it. It provides the basics, is plenty big enough for us, keeps us out of the elements... it does it's job and I am grateful for it.)

11/3 - I am thankful for my eyesight!

1. The leaves and trees are gorgeous!!! Yellows, oranges, reds and greens with a few
browns thrown in.

2. Just came home from the eye specialist, had eyes checked, I thought my cataracts
might be ready for surgery, but they are not....yet. But I might have glaucoma, and need
to go back for further testing and my one eye is tearing in the cornea, and I have severe
dry eyes. So.l.........other than that. Seriously, though, I have often thought, what if I
would have never seen that or this....people's gorgeous smiles and so much more.

I am so blessed!

Thanks for sharing Dusty, Tami, and Dawn!!!

Doesn't it make your mind go and think of other things you can be thankful for, too?

For example what if we had to walk everywhere? (no car?)

How much it would help us overall if we could look at things with a positive outlook
rather than a negative one.

Thanks again, Ladies! Enjoy rejoicing!!!

Nov. 2 - My chiropractor!

I truly believe if it wasn't for her and the previous one, I would be bedridden for sure,
if I was alive. I am thankful for all the things she is able to do to keep me going one
more day.......and also for the times I do things that I shouldn't, and she puts things
back in place for me. (Simple things like making a bed is the worst thing you can do
for lower back pain, I didn't know that for a long time.)
