Shirley, I like that Weight Watchers advice. When you feel like giving up, make your NEXT choice a healthy one, even if it's just getting up to get a big glass of water. That tiny victory helps!

Some really good points,,,,,I am struggling some right now and need to bring things
back to a healthier alignment, but I also know others are and we need to do everything
we can to not only succeed, but to help others to succeed as well.

So keep as many encouraging thoughts available as possible.

Love and prayers to you all and thanks for all the insightful, inspirational thoughts.

I want to say that if you give up now where will you be in a month from now or a year from now?
You will feel miserable, be mad because you have more than likely gained some or all of it back and you have to start all over and lose the same weight you have just lost. So hang in there! We are here to support you and cheer you on, even when you're having a bad day!

Recently in Weight Watchers the topic was getting back on track. They suggested acknowledging immediately and track the very next meal, don't wait until tomorrow or Monday. What a good point they made!

My first reaction: Tomorrow is a new day, so pick yourself up and restart.

After a little more reflection: Tomorrow really is a new day, but for some of us, we just don't have the oomph to restart when tomorrow comes. Tomorrow may really be a week or even a month away (like it kind of has been for me). However, don't stray completely away. Still log in everyday, track your food (or at least some of it), read articles, post on boards, earn some points, do a little exercise and track it. For me, even though I haven't been on point for over a month now (I know this because I am now 31 days smoke-free), keeping in the game has been my saving grace. Not letting myself take the day off completely has been my saving grace. I will not let myself go completely over the edge, I will just keep peeping over and sticking my foot out, but I WILL NOT fall.

I have spent the last several weeks wanting to give up, and it has been THIS GROUP that has kept me from throwing in the towel. So to anyone else feeling the same way, I would say:

We don't care if you stopped tracking, we don't care if you've gained. We care about YOU. YOU contribute to this team and in the world, and you matter. Your accomplishments, no matter how small they may seem, they are important and deserve celebration. We are here for you 100%, no matter how much you gain or how much you lose. We are here to help and support you, and if nothing else, at least we totally know how you feel.

So don't give up. You might be going through a rough patch, but we've all been there, and you can make it through this. Just ride out the storm with us.

Motivation comes from doing, not thinking. The longer you sit and think about something, the harder it becomes to do it. If you think too much, excuses may paralyze you.

Take Action!

Hi, I am having some problems, but was just thinking how each of us struggles......
Yet everyone is good at pitching in and helping others even if they are having their
own struggles....so here are the two questions....

If one of your teammates said, "I am ready to give up, I can't do this any more."

1. What is the first thing that comes to your mind to say?

2. After thinking about it a bit, what would you say?

3. Now read through the answers and come back over and over and read through
them, and use these suggestions to help motivate yourself.

I hope this makes sense.....love and prayers,
