I'm inspired by your commitment to change. Don't let anyone tell you you're not working hard enough or that 8 pounds is either too little or too much. You're right: at your weight, you are not hurting yourself by taking off 8 pounds in 3 weeks.

Wow! Sounds really good, I can't help it....I am old and I get concerned...

don't try to lose it too fast, it is better for your body to go slower, there is suppose to be
less chance of gaining it back, plus your skin has a chance to shrink down some, etc.

Plus, the nutritional aspect of whether your body, heart, etc. is getting the proper fuels.

Congratulations on the progress!!!

Have a great week!

I agree with the self sabotage and the spiral weight loss =) I had lost my first ten lbs so quickly then it hopped right back on. Now that I am working out regularly, eating regularly (i'm a eat once a day kinda girl, and maybe if that) I have seen i went from the regain to 4 lbs lost, to 10 lbs lost to another 11 lbs lost since aug 13! it'll come :)

Oh, by the way, first its 8 lbs. then 10 lbs, then 18 lbs, and then 25 lbs. and once you get
in the momentum, you start melting away. :-)

First off - 8 pounds is AMAZING!

Secondly - I think the thing with being your own worst enemy is a common factor for most of this team, so we get it.

Thirdly - I hope you find all the love support you can stand here. I certainly have.

At my weight, eight pounds lost is not much, but to me it is a victory. I have been on contrave for the last three weeks and have lost 8 lbs without doing anything else. that is more than I have been able to lose total in a long time. I have always been horrible at self sabotaging. I am my own worst enemy. A resolve to change my life and try to lose weight normally results in anxiety and binging. More weight, more self loathing, total self destruction.

This medication has been a game changer and has allowed me to not be my own worst enemy for the first time. My desire to overeat has diminished. I am actually getting hungry because I am not just eating all the time or overeating all of the time. The feeling of fullness is awesome. It was something I previously ignored or didn't feel just to satisfy the compulsion to eat. Eating for comfort does not have the Emotional payoff that it did before. Instead I have to deal with that is in front of me rather than shove it down with food. That has caused problems, but I think that I will be happier in the long run.

It is an exciting beginning. I can't wait to see where the rest of the journey takes me.
