I find that the more you concentrate on the points, the less active you are because you are on the computer much longer.

I go to the 10 minute workouts here. They're great!

I have one child home, she lost her voice and has a sore throat. Managed to do my strength exercises today. Feeling good.

I think that I am going to use the crock pot today.

Have a meeting tonight.

Congratulations! I know that I would be in shock as well. My youngest just turned 9 and my oldest is 14.5. I could not imagine starting again. You are going to love it though, I just know it!!!

I found when I was pregnant with my first, all I craved was fruit. I ate other things of course, but every night I would eat a cereal bowl of fruit salad. With just a drizzle of honey. I did put on lots of weight, but that was also for other health reasons. Anyways, after I had my son, I lost all of the baby weight easily and then some. I think that the fruit had something to do with that.

Eat healthy and my best wishes.

Hi everyone. I've been very quiet the last few days, because I just found out I am pregnant with baby #5. I'm pretty much in shock. My youngest child will be 9 1/2 when this baby arrives, and my oldest will be almost 19! So big adjustment here. I just lost all this weight and now it's got to come back on - for a good cause of course, but it is still frustrating. I plan to continue to eat healthy and exercise and hopefully I won't gain too much. I haven't told my family yet so please no comments on my page.

After losing a large amount of weight a few years ago very quickly and then gaining it back steadily within 2 years, now i'm on this current weight loss journey wanting to be healthier and slimmer for life I'm starting to wonder how do I know that I'll keep it off this time?

I am generally a positive person but when it comes to being overweight and trying to lose weight its been a life long battle so far and I'm only 31

Does putting yourself down or being afraid of gaining weight keep you motivated?

Someone asked this yesterday: Why after losing most of the weight are they struggling with the last few pounds? they fear they're going to slip back and gain...
I thought well ' fear doesnt sustain long term motivation' how can it if you are worrying about something happening it makes you want to eat. It must make us stronger being positive

is it true? found this:

Change driven by a vision, goals, and optimism is durable and produces sustainability. It also takes advantage of one's positive emotions. That helps foster an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, and joy. Achieving the goals provides a sense of fulfillment. We all want to be part of a success. Using positive motivators helps emotionally connect each person to the vision and goals. Their emotions will sustain their effort.

what do you think about keeping the weight off for good, how do you do it, what drives you?

Hi.

I noticed that after my post I was asked how long have I been trying to loose weight. To be honest, 9 years. I had baby #4 nine years ago and I have never lost the weight after.

I did manage to lost 20 lbs on my own 5 years ago, then joined WW and lost another 20. Then my favorite Aunt died and my Mom broke her ankle and I was busy supporting others. I gained back the 20 lbs I lost at WW.

I had a major bout with depression during that time.

I found this site when I was at the bottom of my depression, feeling abandoned and sad. Hopeless. I thought there was no way that I would be a worthy Mom, Wife, anything.

Being here when I started gaining the weight I lost on my own I found friends. Not many, but they were there. I found that I was NOT the only one feeling down on myself. I found out that I was the same as others. It was not only me.

Although I haven't lost much weight since I have been here. I keep telling myself that I have stopped gaining the weight. I am basically maintaining.

The support I get here is phenomenal. When I fall, there is always someone there to help me up. No matter what country we are in.

I am getting my head wrapped around the fact that I need to loose and I will. I just need to get my stuff done before others. I have just started doing that today. I walked on the treadmill after my kids went to school. It's been a long time since I did that.

There is so much support here. There are so many drop outs here too. It saddens me, but I AM STILL HERE. That must be commitment. I will loose weight. I know I will.

I wish everyone healing along with this journey of weight loss here on Spark.

Good morning all! This is the first time that I have posted anything. I am a wife and a mother of a 19 year old son and a soon to be 16 year old daughter. We recently got custody of my husband's 16 year old daughter. He also has a son that is 19, but prefers to stay at his moms.
Laundry day is a never ending job, luckily my children are starting to help out.
Today is a really busy day for me, I have my Internship at 11:30 to 1:15 then a class at 1:30 to 2:45 then back to my Internship at 3:00 to 4:30 then another class at 6:00 to 8:45. It is really hard to stay on track with my weight loss with this schedule, but I haven't given up. Have a good day everyone. emoticon

Today is laundry day for us too! But I've decided to put it off until tomorrow and enjoy the afternoon at the horse track with the kids. My son has no more meets or practices today, the sun is shining and I've already run 4 miles for the day so I feel pretty good about putting off the chores! emoticon

Good morning, all!
Today is our church "Fall Festival" - my wife is the organist/choir director, so we're up and out the door early. (Good point: we get to DUNK Father Scott in the dunking tank!!!) Youngest (14 y.o.) plays in a youth orchestra that practices directly afterward; so we're running around three teenagers and a tuba spread across two cars. Let the frazzle begin!

Today is laundry day. It seems that everyday is laundry day, but today is major laundry day. All of the hampers are full and screaming to be cleaned.

I also found out that my third child needs braces. I was so disappointed. I hate those things. They hurt them everytime they tighten them up. It just breaks my heart to see them in pain.

Let the soccer season begin!! Today was my 10 year old daughter's first game of the season (they got creamed about 15-1, but good attitudes all around). My 12 year old son now plays for the school team and has his first game on Thursday. Busy time of year for us.

Its Sunday and just catched up on some spark people blogs...very insightful. This weekend has been more tough than usual and I'm determined now to do more exercise this week even though I've been walking every day for 20-30 mins...will have to step it up a gear.
My eating habits are good in the week so its just the weekend junk food that hubbie buys that gives me the problem. He says he won't bring any home at weekends from now on.
I live in the UK so I'm a few hours difference but will try to share as much as possible with everyone...it helps having support here!

Hi, Cicide -- Just wanted to drop in and say I love the direction you're taking this group in. Very positive! Guns n Roses will get you going, too!

I'm planning on starting to walk a little (very little, to be honest) this weekend, and maybe start off with a few minutes on the ski machine. I blew out my back last weekend and ended up home all week pretty much unable to sit or move without pain. I'm better now but not 100% and I know that exercise is key to keeping my back in shape. This is not the first time this has happened, and it ALWAYS happens when I'm NOT in shape and exercising. Those abs really are important! So, today I start slowly...

Hope everyone has a great weekend! 3 day holiday here in the U.S.! Woo-hoo!

Morning everyone. It looks like a day at home hubby had to work a split double sift(8 hours in the morning then come home for 4 hours and work another 8 hours at night) so I won't be able to get any running around done.
I hope that this board does not go away. It is nice just to stop and check in every once and a while.

My girl is running for STUCO. I am so proud of her. She's not popular, has 2 really good friends, so she doesn't think she'll win. I told her I am so proud of her just for trying, and "you never know if you don't try".
