Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to have to suck it up and invest in the Vitamix. I think in the long run, it will be a better investment for my family. I notice that my family members are interested in what my juices and smoothies taste like. Even my mom and dad are curious. My mom is like, "She's drinking spinach? It must be good!" emoticon

I do too & although it is expensive, it is worth every penny...I'm talking about a vitamix. You can buy a reconditioned one at a much discounted price. They are wonderful, I would never be without mine now!

I use a Breville Juice Fountain Compact and love it! It's a workhorse. I also have an Oster Blender to make smoothies and mix up my protein drinks, crushes ice like a dream.

Wow that's a can of worms you opened ;)

I think everyone has an opinion about this one...

At the moment my I have a regular kitchen blender (probably similar to your dead one). It isn't very strong, but is ok for normal light kitchen use.

I also have a Nutribullet that I use for my daily smoothies. It is 600 watts and I have had no problems doing my daily smoothie.

I have not gone all out with the Blendtec or Vitamix yet so I can't speak from experience with them. They are both pricey, although anyone who owns one seems to say they are worth it.

So I guess the first thing you should do is set your budget. That may help you narrow your choices.

I read through hundreds of reviews online (gotta love Amazon reviews!) to get an idea of the good and the bad before buying.

UGH!!! The motor just burned out on my blender. It was just a standard Hamilton Beach that I picked up at a big box store before I started my juicing and smoothie journey.

Now I need something serious because I blend at least twice a day. Any suggestions?
