I just joined this team today. I am 7 weeks post-op. I had a gastric sleeve done. Hope to make new friends who know what I am going through.

Hi there,
I hope your seminar went well. I had the gastric sleeve late last year. It was less scary than the other option available to me.

I am kind of stuck at just below 200. I am frustrated because I went up a couple lbs this week. I am not sure what's gong on but I am super tired so much so that I have to choose to exercise or cook or do house stuff at night. I can't manage all three or even two.

Have you decided to go forward with surgery? What did you pick?

Hello everyone.

I am disappointed that there are not more people on this team, and that there are not other WLS teams. emoticon

I am considering getting WLS again. I had vertical banded gastroplasty done back in 1987. It was a VERY new surgery, and no body (even the majority of doctor's) knew anything about it. I have just recently found out, that 86% of the people who had that surgery done back then gained all of their weight back within 3 years. I lost 130 in 18 months. Within 3 years I gain 150 back!! emoticon

This weekend I am going to a WLS seminar to find out about all the kinds of WLS that are available and what might be best for me.

But with being more then 30 years older, I don't even know if I have the strength & courage to go thru surgery!

And, what about this business of not ever being able to take NSAIDS again? I often get headaches. I don't know what else I would take.

MAKE 2018 THE BEST YOU CAN.

REMEMBER, JESUS LOVES YOU!!

Hi there - good to see there is life in this group! Great job on your weight loss and persistence.

Do you also seem to have low energy? Maybe its my life (and job) but when I get home - if I sit down for 30 minutes, I'm done. Its ok if I'm not hungry but if I need to eat, then I can't get exercise in.

I east between 5 and 6 meals a day and they are 3 - 4 ounces; sometimes less.

Any ideas other than getting a new job and better planning?

I was so excited to join and have discussions with other people who have gone through the sleeve process, but each group I've joined doesn't seem to have much participation or discussion going on at all. So very sad about that. I also had my sleeve in Oct 2017. I'm 5'5 and my starting weight was 283. I'm now down to 213 and continuing to work towards my goal of 160. I also have had stalls and the dreaded plateau but slow and steady wins my race. I pull my pre-surgery booklet out, remind myself of the way I should be eating and then re-evaluate to make sure I'm doing it properly. Every time it helps and every time I break through with another loss. Apparently I'm always going to need to remind myself, which is ok. I'm happy, healthy, and don't regret my decision one bit. Hope you all are having a great day... if there's still anyone around to read this, lol

hi there,
Seems like this group isn't that active but I can use some support so I am here.
My highest weight was 258 which may not sound like much but I'm 5'3" so it was getting bad. I had the gastric sleeve in October 2017. I lost 19 lb before surgery and atm, sitting around 50 lb down.
I get stuck at a weight for a couple weeks and then drop. This has happened at least 2 times. Not sure why but its frustrating.
My main challenge is getting enough exercise since I have so little energy.

Hope to meet a few others along the road to healthy.
