I have been using the med Bentyl. It does help me quite a bit with cramping. However, today, I had an issue after eating some low cal ice cream. I would wonder if the ingredients which make the ice cream low cal is what bother me...

I rarely have stomach pain or cramps, but unexpected bouts of D. Gastroenterologist put me on a small dose (25mg) Amitriptyline and it's been a blessing. Couldn't go anywhere without worrying and usually my worry turned to reality, although that could have had something to do with it. Been on this med for over year and still working. Started out on 10mg and it wasn't enough. So, now I rarely, very rarely, have anything close to an episode, but I have confirmed that having breakfast at a restaurant with coffee, bacon and fried eggs is no match for the Amitriptyline. :( Really love a traditional breakfast now and then and I can eat bacon I've cooked at home in the oven and drink coffee. Only scramble eggs at home or soft boil. Don't know why that restaurant combo gets me, but I'd definitely say it's a trigger.

Thanks. That might help me figure out what I shouldn't have eaten. Clearly a Big Mac meal was not a good choice for many reasons.

Skeeter - that meal might have set off D for me. But as you know, it just depends on the day.

I have been trying to write down what I eat but usually I forget. If you eat some trigger food does it cause symptoms immediately, or maybe the next day or later? I did try a 'bad' experiment and ate a Big Mac meal with a chocolate shake expecting D. and it didn't happen.

Thanks.

Happy that you are Sparking again. Yes, I have also had those moments when I realized that I ate something and later realized that it is one of my triggers. Chocolate is one of my triggers as well. Although, my problem is not always D. It often turns into terrible gas pains. The gas pains happens to me often.

So I had a moment today where I actually said DUH you Idiot.

I just started sparking again last week after a few years.
I have a had a few symptom flare ups recently with no apparent trigger food eaten.
Today I ready an article on the site that mentioned that chocolate has caffeine. which is one of my worst triggers. I can't tolerate it at all.

So I reviewed my Food Diary and sure enough each day I had marked that I had issues for no reason I had eaten chocolate.

Has anyone elase had any of these moments?
