Oh my goodness, I honestly started to wonder if it was me..I belong to another team that is no unsupportive...you would think they did not want me to succeed from responses and lack of responses..

Hey I am positive..that is why I am here..even in the hard times...I have so many things to remind me that I am blessed and highly favoured

I really understand what you mean about having too many teams. I am trying to whittle mine down again and having a hard time. It does get hard when you have friends on so many teams. But I will keep working on it. I am a positive person most of the time and really don't understand those who always are negative. That would be a very sad way to live. My food and exercise trackers are great for me and I do plan my meals ahead of time as I am diabetic and on a renal diet. I don't think I could do it without my tracker.

I'm glad I just found this team - it's my first day!

I'm using the food tracker and it's been really useful. I now try to buy only things that can be tracked (sometimes there is no nutrition info on food).

I have a night eating habit I am trying to work on and last night I came down and entered what I was thinking of having - it fit within my range so I ate & felt good about it! I'm keeping a water bottle on the nightstand as well & this is really helpful.

I agree with everyone about the teams. I have joined and left several teams. Any one that is not giving you what you need, isn't worth your time. This team, and the positive attitude is encourages has been extremely helpful to me. I really see that positive creates positive. There are negative people and negative comments all around us. We just need to filter them, and press on with the 'half full' portion of the comment.

As to tracking my food...I'm not doing it right now...so I don't have any suggestions to help you with that.

I loved all of your comments. We should feel comfortable and welcome no matter where we are in our journey. Negativeness, I found only brings me down and discourages me and I wanted positive action and support. I found that with working full-time I really didn't have the time to keep up the way I felt I should to more than a couple of teams. I want to be active physically as well as mentally...that meant limiting the time I spend on the internet.
Sounds like we have all found what works for us...and in my books...that is what is important.

I don't bother with negativity. I've dropped teams because of that reason. One of my favorite teams (besides this one, of course! *giggle*) is called the Venting and Crying Room. You'd think it's full of negative people from that name, wouldn't you? But it really isn't. People join that team with real problems. There are some terrific supportive and encouraging members on that team who pick those people up and encourage them along their path. It is humbling to be able to be a part of some of the terrific teams that I'm on and to get to know some of these beautiful people!!!

Hi everyone. I went down to two teams, but this one is by far the most encouraging and the most positive, I am so thankful for Wanda starting this team. It shouldn't matter if you have 8 or 80 to lose, if you are seeking support and encouragement that's what SP is suppose to be about and living a healthy life. Me I track my food as I eat it, as I don't plan ahead for meals, but this seems to work for me as after each meal it gives me an idea of what I might be able to have for the next meal.

Dive probably some of the negative comments came from envious people who looked at your picture and wonder what your even doing here as you look so good, but you have just as much right to be here as anyone else. When I reach my goal I plan on sticking around so I stay at a healthy weight.

Let's just keep supporting and encouraing each other along the way.

As for tracking my food, I plan out my meal plan the night before and enter it in the tracker. I pretty much eat the same thing for my 3 of my meals (I eat 6 meals) so I use the copy this food feature. Tracking it ahead of time lets me know how many calories I will eat etc and helps me to stick to it. If I don't eat what I tracked, then I change it. If I am going to be out and I don't know what I am eating I leave it blank, and I take a small notepad with me to write it down. But I usually pack all my meals so I pretty much stick to my plan.

Cammie, I agree with DiveGoddess. When I first joined Spark, I belonged to many teams and have discovered that there are two teams that are most helpful to me...and I've actually made friends. Being positive has made all the difference in my life...so good for you for sticking with it...

BTW, I enter all my food in the nutrition tracker first thing in the a.m. Then I practice mindfulness - before I put anything in my mouth, I think about whether I was planning on eating it. Helps with not taking things that were counted for the day.

I found it helpful to surround myself only with positive people and teams with people that are encouraging. I left the team I found negative. I had a similar experience, when I started spark I posted about my frustration because nothing was working for me. I was only trying to lose 8 lbs but people at work were teasing me about "getting flabby" and I posted my frustration. I got jumped on by other team memebers saying that I had no right to complain about 8 lbs when others are trying to lose 50+ pounds. All I wanted was a bit of encouragement. So I left the team.

You don't have to stay in all the teams, just stick to the ones that encourage you and help you with your journey.

Hi everyone. I've been having difficulty tracking my intake lately and decided to post to some other teams to try to get ideas. I was amazed at the response that I got. One team was very enthusiastic and positive. Many people posted in reply with all sorts of tips and lots of new ideas for me to try. From another team I got one response which was very short and stated in a way that I could only interpret in a less than positive way. What a difference it made. My positive team gave me hope. The less than positive team left me feeling inadequate. But the positive side to all of this is that I now know the differance and I know which team I want to stick with (besides this one that is.)
