I hope you can get a break soon Janine! I'm with you on the overwhelmed feeling. I'm trying to finish up a craft project and have 4 students this afternoon. After that I need to clean the house and pack.

I'm feeling overwhelmed today at work. I need a day without meetings to get work done. Having 2 a day is hard.

I'm sure it feels good to have all the trash out of your house! That's a great neighbor!
Very sunny today, but only 12 degrees this morning. It will be 35 later so I'm going to get a walk in between students and crafting!

Our neighbor let us use his recycle bin (he never recycles) so that we can put all of our cardboard from the vanity, the vanity top and the toilet in the red bins to be taken away today. I am sure the people picking up the garbage today will wonder why there is a red bin with the black bin in front of his house today. That sound really silly but the landfill has such bizarre hours now we can't get out there to dump the cardboard. They will take that in the bins, so we collapsed all the boxes and were able to get everything in our bin and the neighbors. Where there is a will, there is a way.

I would be excited about a remodeling project being finished too! Yes, those curtains did their job. Might as well have new ones for a whole new bathroom. Enjoy!
I ran to the Dollar Tree this morning, then worked on lesson plans and now it's back to crafting projects. I want to take a couple of things in my suitcase so I'm trying to finish them up. That way I don't have to pay to ship as much.

Well as of 2:55 pm on Sunday afternoon we have functional bathroom on the main floor again. I know it is silly to get excited about a bathroom, but you never know how much you used it until your routine has been disrupted for about 5 weeks. Now the finishing touch will be the curtains. We ordered them as the old ones died in the dryer. They were 35 years old, so I guess they have done their duty. For now if we want to take a bath, we can just throw a towel up there to provide some modesty. We have a large back yard that buts up against the soccer goals from the elementary school, so for the most part we don't have anyone who would be able to see in the window, but it's just the principle of the thing.

I'm going to work on craft projects today and maybe lesson plans. Those may wait until tomorrow.
The wind is howling today so I won't be walking outside. I did get a walk in yesterday. It was beautiful and 55.

We can see the light at the end of the tunnel for the remodel. The sink is working, the toilet is working the tub is working. The only snag yesterday was that we bought new handles for the linen closet, and the holes were about 1/4 inch off where the old holes were. Out to Ace to get wood filler and now we will sand and paint the old holes and drill new ones. It is always something on an old house.

I guess now is a good time to do a remodel Barb. Like you said, not having extra people in the house makes it a little easier to go through.
Sounds like you both had a decent day. Ours was much smaller too. Scott's 2 kids were here with their significant others and my mom. The kids wore masks so I felt safe. We ate, played games, then ate a little more.
I had a hair appt. this morning and am watching the game now. It's sunny but really windy so not sure I'll get out for a walk. I was able to take a walk yesterday. If I wear the right shoes my foot doesn't hurt much at all.

We had a quiet dinner with my dad and his friend. Honestly, I think I did more work yesterday than I do for my job. Even though I only cooked for 4 of us, it was time-consuming.

Good luck with the bathroom reno Barb.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We were by ourselves by plan. We did Zoom with both Kevin and his wife and Adrianne and the girls in a group Zoom. The littlest granddaughter was nuts. Adrianne said she had not be outside all day, (Kind of glad we were here by ourselves, ha-ha.) I don't think we will be doing Christmas either. The governor has made national news on several days because she refuses do to anything that would help mitigate the spread of the virus. So we will hunker down here and hope for better days.

We are keeping ourselves occupied by finishing the bathroom. We were just going to repair the ceiling from the water damage that happened last spring. The next thing I know my son and husband have gutted the bathroom and it is a whole new show. We will have this functional by the end of the weekend. Good thing we didn't have people here this weekend, that would have been insane. Kind of like this whole year................

Oh no Kim! I hope you are feeling better tonight!

Barb.....I hope you are feeling better as well.

Tis the season for us all to get sick. I always found myself getting sick at the Thanksgiving break because you have been going and going and it is really the first time you can stop and relax a minute. It has been different for me since leaving the classroom, but I am tired and ready for a break.

It was really windy here yesterday and there was a suspected funnel cloud (tornado?) in Cape Cod, although it did not touch down. That is about 2 1/2 hours away from me but I can say it definitely was windier than typical. Today it is much calmer and still cool. Rain is coming tomorrow night.

I get so tired of the wind here too Barb. It snowed some yesterday and is supposed to rain most of today. Gray and dreary, but the good news is, my pin comes out this afternoon. Yay! Not excited about the actual removal, but I am excited about being able to wear real shoes again!
Barb, I hope you're feeling better by now.
I woke up at 11 last night, after only being in bed for 30 min. and realized I had a UTI. Ugh! I called Dr. on Demand and had a prescription in less than 5 minutes. I got dressed and drove to Ankeny to the 24 hr. pharmacy and picked it up. I can still feel some of the symptoms but it's so much better than it was. I hate those things and am glad I hadn't had one for 10 yrs.

The wind is starting up again (it never really goes away in South Dakota) and it is getting colder. I came home at noon. I have some stomach issues and it was just better to come home and be close to a bathroom that doesn't have multiple stalls.

The 22nd seems like a very popular birthday! My family is making me a Polish dinner. I am not sure what that will mean, but I will contribute a beef roast that I need to make.

Barb....happy birthday to your granddaughters. Good luck with getting all the fall stuff done. I need to get that done as well.

Kim....that is a great idea to buy items when you get to South Carolina instead of packing them. I am going to purchase more gift cards this year than I have ever done. My kids don't need much. I would rather buy them gift certificates for food or home improvements.

Busy day Barb! I hope you can get it all done. The sun was out earlier, but it's clouding up now.
I'm going to clean, then watch football. I ordered a bunch of gifts online yesterday. I'm going to take a few small things in my suitcase when we go to SC, then maybe buy the rest out there so I don't have to ship it. At least Amazon is free shipping, but last year I paid for gift wrapping so they didn't have to do it. Trying to get a jump start since we'll be out there for 6 days. I'm not sure we'll even decorate this year. If no one is coming over I'm not sure it's worth the work. There are trees and lights up all over our neighborhood. People started right after Halloween this year.

We have too many things going on today.

First, we need to get all the "fall" out of our yard today because it may snow again sometime next week. We had this big snowstorm on the 10th, and then it was 50 degrees for the next week. So Mother Nature is giving us one last chance to clear the leaves out before she makes them mulch for the next spring. Then the son, the electrician, is coming down to hook up all the electricity in the bathroom. YEA!!! We have pretty much done a whole remodel in there. We didn't take out the tub, but we are refinishing it ourselves and hopefully it will come out well. Anyway we have a six hour window to get that done or we have to buy another kit. Then Lee plays at church tonight (acoustic and bass guitar) so we will have to clean up before 4:30 so we can make it to church. Yikes......

Happy Birthday Janine! My two granddaughters have their birthday on Sunday. They were both born on the 22nd but there is a four year lag between the two of them. We won't see them since they will stay in Ames but we sent their presents in a box the other day. I think we may Skype with them on Sunday.

Had our meeting with the parents that didn't show up last week. We stalked them down in the parking lot the day before and made them commit to come. They did, both of them. The mother was very nice, sweet and probably not the brightest bulb in the string. The dad is a walking tattoo and looks like he would just as soon put a knife in you as sit in a meeting and listen to how we are going to help his son. By the end of the meeting he nodded and smiled at me so I feel like at least we are safe for now. The little boy is the sweetest thing. My guess is that Dad has had a hard life, and I am not interested in hearing anything about it.....I just want him to keep smiling and nodding.

Wow Janine, why on earth does someone like that still have a job? I hope it goes well and I'm glad you're almost caught up!
I went out for a wobbly walk last night, just 15 min., because it was still 54 at 8 p.m. It's in the 50s today.
I'm trying to get a head start on some Christmas gifts because we'll be at my son's house from Dec. 5-10 or something like that. I better figure out the dates for sure!
Happy birthday Janine! Enjoy your special day Sunday!

Three meetings today but only one will be problematic. The parents rejected the last plan and hired one of the worst advocates in our area. She is so bad that some school districts (including ours) restrict where meetings can be held as she is restricted from being in some buildings. In fact, my supervisor (or our lawyer) has to be in attendance at meetings with her and if we are in person, the police have to be nearby. Crazy huh? I haven't had a meeting with her in 12 years and I hope she remembers me because that meeting was really positive. Fingers crossed.

Today was a busy day! One good meeting and one meeting with a parent no show. I was able to finalize several plans and am ALMOSt caught up! How is everyone doing this week? I can't believe it's already Thursday. The wind is blowing like crazy but it's almost 70 so that's awesome!
I did a big grocery pick up today. I got everything I need for pies and salad. I know all the slots will be filled up next week so figured I would get a jump on things.

Barb, sorry about the ceiling mess. I hope you got it taken care of! It stinks that we can't get together with family, but it's for the best. I sure hope the vaccine shows up sooner rather than later.
Janine, sometimes we have to parent our parents! Sorry he is out and about.
Janey, sorry you won't be getting together with family either.
We may have some of the kids over, keeping the group under 10. They've all been working from home and haven't gone out much at all. My daughter, who lives around the corner, probably won't come. She can't afford to miss school. There's too much going on.
The wind is insane today! The sun is shining but wow, the wind is whipping and is to do the same tomorrow.

Oh Barb...that makes me so sad!

I found out today that my dad was seen in a car full of people and no one was wearing a mask! That just infuriates me. I have taken so many measures to make sure he does not get this dang virus and he is putting me in jeopardy!!! UGH

Sadly, that sounds like a good plan Barb. My daughter only lives about 90 minutes away, but she is in LA county which has a huge increase in cases, probably won't see them for turkey.

The virus has gone berserk. We had 50 people die in the state yesterday. We had 28 new cases here in Yankton, yesterday. Glad we made the decision not to have the kids come.

Getting ready to paint in the bathroom. We tried to texture the ceiling with some new product. That was a disaster. My husband isn't usually that upset, but he is writing a review so you know how angry he was with the inadequacy of their product.

Need to clean up because we are going to Saturday church.

I don't see people wearing them when they are outside exercising but they do wear them in any store, etc. Of course yesterday, I see this older man who didn't look very healthy, go into a store without a mask. I guess that's his choice!
Cleaning and doing my nails today. It's chilly and gray today.

We had a mask mandate that has been expanded to include any time you are in public. Oddly, people do not understand that means even when you are walking in the park! I do not go out too often.

Barb...that sounds like a good idea to have your daughter stay home.

Janey, I hope it goes well for your son. At least he'll be a consistent sub. I hope he stays well!
Barb, I'm sure she's told you our governor has never had a mask mandate, saying the people of Iowa will do the right thing. Oh brother. She finally put a mask mandate in place a couple of days ago. I'm staying in as much as possible. Thankfully the sun is shining and I can get out for a short, wobbly walk. I don't think we'll get together either. We'll probably prep all the food and take it to the kids. I will probably have my mom come over and we'll mask or stay 6 ft. apart. I'm not worried about me as much as my husband who goes to work every day.

I got a call from my daughter last night. They live in Ames, and we discussed coming for Thanksgiving. I had been thinking about calling, so perhaps the mental wavelengths were in sync. We have decided that they are going to stay in Ames this Thanksgiving. We have uncontrolled conditions here because the governor has her own agenda, which doesn't mean looking out for the people of South Dakota.

It does seem very hard to get the information we need to make good decisions. All the HIPPA privacy laws still apply, so we just have to assume that everybody could have it. Scary.
My son is going to be in person with a class that has been virtual with a parade of subs since the beginning of the year. So there will be no lesson plans. We think it will be mild to moderate 3-5th grade.

No kidding, why not just say what's really going on? My daughter said there are 44 teachers out in the district. That is one high and middle school and 5 elementary schools. I doubt they can find subs. I know I won't do it. Not worth the risk.

Janey....I hope your son stays safe!

Kim....good plan for you! There's no need to put yourself in jeopardy of catching the virus when you can have food delivered or do pickups at stores.

Barb...I pray that your super is okay!

I had to laugh at our super's video emailed out the other day that there are "only 7 active cases" in the community and only 2 per building in some buildings". I will say that there are 8 people in my family that have active cases and they all live in town! And 2 of those 8 along with the building principal are all active and in the same school building. So I don't have a lot of faith in this nonsense. Why not just be honest???? We all need to know in order to be safe.

Things are just nutty! Some places have low numbers and some are sky high. I know on the news yesterday they said we've broken the record for the highest number of cases in one day EVERY DAY since June or July. The numbers have increased by 172%. I'm staying home or doing drive up as much as possible. I did drive to the UPS and drop a package off this morning just to get out of the house for a bit.

My son is a sub and is getting trained this week to take over a special day class that is just starting back. They talk about all the safety gear and procedures, then say he can't sub for a different group in person until he has been away from this one for two weeks. Hmm ... that safe.

I realize education is better in person, but when you have to put subs in the room or you have people getting sick and having to worry constantly about that is not great education!

Sending prayers to the school secretary that her dad recovers. My mom's best friend, who is 87 but exercises every day, was hospitalized on Friday and released on Sunday. They were giving her IV fluids with platelets or plasma ? of people who have recovered from Covid. She is home recovering. My Mother In Law's best friend was hospitalized with it on Sunday.
I had my recheck on Friday. He unwrapped my foot and didn't wrap it again. I left in the boot with a pin sticking out the end of my foot. We wrapped it at home. I was so afraid I would catch it on something. I didn't know how else I was going to sleep with my foot under the covers with this thing sticking out. He says they just pull it out in the office, no numbing, because it doesn't hurt. I sure hope that's true!
The school I used to teach at went back to all virtual today. They have 44 teachers out across the district. They will reassess at the end of November. I don't think we're going to get together for Thanksgiving. My daughter, who is now a school nurse, doesn't want to be with a bunch of people and risk not being at school. Plus, we are trying to be careful with my mom who is 82. I feel bad that she's sitting at home not being able to go anywhere or see people. It's going to be a long winter. I think we'll have her over here and keep her 6 ft. from my husband who goes to work every day. I have been doing grocery pick up and have hardly been out of the house.
Our governor has never required masks since this whole thing started. Finally yesterday, she put a mask mandate in place. It's about time!

There was no discussion whatsoever at the school board meeting on Monday night that there is any intention of ever closing down. They keep saying that the quality of education is better when kids are in school. Well if you have just sub in the room who is there just to make sure kids are in their seat and not killing each other, you seem to have a weird concept of what a quality education is.

Augh..............

On Thursday our elementary secretary fled the building in rush. Her father has been hospitalized there in town, but they were going to air-flight him out to the hospital here in Yankton. On Friday they told the family they had better gather. If he passes he will be the first that has a direct contact to the school. He is 79.

We had nine staff out district wide on Thursday. The sub coordinator is about ready to have a nervous breakdown. If this continues we won't have enough staff to run the program, but the school board is at the helm, and it is "Damn the virus, full speed ahead!" I don't know if one of us has to expire in front of their class or what.

Oh my gosh ladies. I wonder if they'll do 100% virtual again or just keep going as is? I haven't heard anything about doing that, but the numbers keep climbing.
The weather is still perfect here. I ran to Ames this morning and went through the drive up to get my prescriptions. That was my big outing until I go for my recheck on Friday. Fun times! I did get some time to sit on the deck yesterday. I want to soak in this warm weather!

The letter went out this morning that all students and staff will be required to wear masks from not until the conditions in the county greatly improve (that could be next spring). The cook at Tabor went down today. Wondering what tomorrow will bring.

I am glad your foot is not hurting as much Kim! I hope this continues for you.

It was cold today but is supposed to be nicer over the next several days. I am glad to have my dad here to help with the yard work today. It helps me and it gives him something to do.

We are remote this week and next, although I am still going into the office. Apparently, on Friday my director is going to inform us that we need to be back full time. I am not sure why this change as we are all working hard! Given that the teachers are allowed to be remote on Wednesdays, there is no way he can hold us to all 5 days in the office. I figure someone complained about us not being in the buildings to run our remote meetings. It seems stupid, but what do I know.

Ugh, you're both having a tough week. Our k-2 starts back full time next week even though numbers of positive cases continue to rise. Two weeks later 3-5 will go back. Middle and high school are staying hybrid for the semester. Barb, I hope things settle down for you but I anticipate that until we're all wearing masks and staying home as much as possible that won't happen.
I can't wait for the election to be over with. I worry about what the rest of the week will bring no matter what the outcome is.
I agree with documenting everything Janine. It's too bad the speech path is such a nasty person. Why cause drama all the time? Don't people want less drama, not more?
As for me, I'm just rolling along in my boot. The foot hurts much less than it did last week. I have a recheck on Friday.
The weather is amazing this week, around 70 every day. I'm going to get outside even though I can't go for a walk. Monday starts out warm then temps drop all day and a rain/snow mix moves in. Back to real life:)

OH NO Barb!!!! I'm sorry for all the positive cases! I hope you are able to stay healthy. I'll pray for all affected.

It was horrendously cold Halloween night! I figure that's why we didn't have a lot of trick or treaters.

So you may or may not remember the mean girl speech path that yelled at me in a meeting last year and the parent filled a complaint about how she treated me. Well, she struck again! Today she didn't like something I said so she went running to my supervisor to complain about me. My supervisor came at me and I refused to back down. So I got the director involved. Again! I'm sick of this speech path being a mean girl (many view her this way) and the supervisor defending her because they are friends. It is so darn hard to work as a team when all I can think about is what is going to be the next complaint! I told my friend at work that I think I'll start a file of all the times this speech oath complains to the supervisor. I know I can't grieve the supervisor, but I can certainly start documenting the pattern that is starting. I am so sick of this speech and her bratty ways! But I'm even more sick of the supervisor coming to her rescue because of their friendship. I love what I do and I was expecting to retire from this job when it comes time, but this is making it hard to stay focused on staying there.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

Well Covid has descended upon our district. The Bon Homme Hutterishe Colony Elementary School had to close down for the week. All three teachers out there are out, and we can't get subs out there. One of our elementary teachers at Tabor is out with it. Our SPED teacher at the elementary school in Tyndall is down with it. We have 100 kids in middle school and high school that we have to temp check twice per day. Are we having fun, yet?

Sadly we only had 7 trick or treaters. This included 3 little ones that I had special bags for separate from the 16 I had made up. I also had put out drinks for people if they wanted one. It was a quiet night. I just wish I had had more kids stop by. Now to find some kids to take the remaining bags. Hopefully, some of the neighborhood kids will swing by again today. I emailed their parents and encouraged them to come without their costumes.

We didn't know what Halloween was going to be like. Well for one thing the wind was blowing here at least 25 miles per hour. That started about 3:30 pm and got worse as the night went on. Because North Dakota and South Dakota are racing to see who can be the nation's hot spot for Covid 19, many businesses (more than usual) did trick or treating during the day. I saw many people taking their kids to these businesses during the day. I did have about 10, which was a little down from last year. I think we had 15 or so last year. We use to get so many more, but that was when there were a great number of kids in this neighborhood. Right now there are not very many households with kids, so it doesn't seem to be a stopping point for many families. I did have one kid come who was at least 6 ft. tall. I wanted to ask if he wasn't a little old to be trick-or-treating, but I had plenty of candy, so he can eat it not me.

Hi gals, how is everyone doing? I have Halloween bags all prepped and ready to go so kids can just pick them up and go tonight. It's sunny today but really windy. I sure wish I could be out for a walk! Foot is doing well, just annoying and slows me down but it will be off in 3 more weeks.
We're having Scott's kids over tomorrow for lunch and games just for the heck of it. My daughter says they aren't coming because the boys have a bday party to attend and she's gone next weekend and has a lot to do.
Have a good weekend!

I'm able to do pretty much everything as of now as long as I'm wearing my boot. I imagine after surgery I'll have a few slower days. I think my toe will hurt more after surgery since they're going to mess with it. I'm just ready for it to be done. Tomorrow is the day, about 2:15.
Barb, how inappropriate to discuss her situation in front of students. I really hope she realizes it's time to retire!
Today is lesson plans and cleaning the house. Hubby will help with that.

She made it through the week. We were a little leery about her driving, but there is not much we can do about it. She was called in Thursday because a teacher complained that the stuff she send with a student to be worked on in study hall isn't being done. She also has not conversed with a teacher about a parent's concerns. She promised the parent at teacher conferences that she would talk to this teacher (a different one that the one who ratted her out about not working with a student to complete a paper that was due 9/28) Parent teacher conferences were 10/9 and on 10/22 she still had not contacted the teacher. Our new chemistry teacher had no idea who she was, even though there are two students on problem teacher's caseload who are failing in conceptual chemistry (chemistry for the non-college bound). I had to sit in the meeting as the supt. talked to her about her job performance. I guess that she left the meeting, ate lunch and then lit into her 5th period study hall about her situation. We have bits and pieces about it from a couple of kids who said something to our other high school resource room teacher, but haven't got the full story, yet.

Kim....it sounds like the dinner was nice. I hope you had help with the preparations and cleanup! You should be resting.

Barb....how's the teacher doing? Did she make it through the week safely?

No snow here for us yet thankfully! Today is the last day of temps in the 50s though. Tomorrow we will get considerably colder. I had to go out and get some sweaters for winter the other day. My house tends to run on the colder side. I am ready!

Brr, I think softball season has left us! Of course, it isn't typically this cold at this point in the year.
It's cold this morning but at least the sun is shining. I haven't seen it in days. Monday is supposed to be a high of 27 and snow. I'll be sleeping most of the afternoon and evening so that's ok I guess. I had my Covid test this morning. It was farther up the nose than the previous one I had, but not way up so it wasn't bad at all.
I made dinner last night and had my daughter, step-daughter, and mom over last night to celebrate her bday. It's tomorrow but since I'm quarantined we celebrated early.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hope the surgery goes well.

Today is an unscheduled day (no school). A day to get some extra sleep, but that wasn't happening. I decided that I might as well get up. Maybe I'll take a little nap this afternoon. The kids are coming this evening as they have a softball tourney this weekend (seriously, it is October). That means they will bring the hounds with them, so I had better prepare Bella. She will be thrilled (not).

I hope your mask was enough for you to stay safe Barb!
Thanks for the well wishes. I got all the pre-op appointments done this morning so that's checked off the list. Surgery will be Monday around 2:00. Don't have a definite time yet.

Good luck on the surgery.

We have avoided the snow, but is it cold and windy. Did have a little twinkle of sunlight for an hour or so in the afternoon. That was just to get our hopes up.

We have 40+ kids in the middle school and high school that are close contacts with the four high school kids we have who have come down with Covid 19. We have an elementary teacher who has come down with it and amazingly enough kids are starting to wear masks. I sat testing a kid who was a close contact. I didn't know it until after I finished testing. He wasn't wearing a mask, I was. We will see what happens.

What wonderful ideas for the family. I'm sure they will appreciate it.
Found out I'm last for surgery, which I knew, but it will be around 2:00 in the afternoon, so not too bad at all.

Barb...thank you for the SparkGoodie. I appreciate your care. I think she was sick longer than people realized, even her, but always thought it was due to her asthma. Today we decided on a bird bath for her garden at her house for her husband along with some glass boxes to etch her picture on for her 3 adult children. It will be hard to replace her for sure.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your co-worker Janine. So sad.
It sounds like you are having some productive days as far as work goes.
Barb, I can't believe any dr. would want her driving as far as she is every day. I hope she was truthful with them.
We met friends for breakfast on Sunday then were home a couple of hours when I suggested ordering pizza and having mom and/or kids over for games. We ended up at my daughter's house so she could bathe the boys and get them ready for school Monday. Yesterday I decided I had time to throw a big pot of soup together (with the help of Bear Creek soup mix) and have the kids over to eat. My daughter picked up my mom after she picked up the boys, and my step-daughter and her fiancée' joined. I made grilled cheese since we got snow over the weekend.
The weather is absolutely crazy. Woke up to an inch of snow on the ground Sunday. Yesterday it snowed hard for a couple hours but melted as it hit the ground. The weirdest part is that 10 miles south of me got 8 inches of snow! It is to be 70 on Thursday then 40s again.

That is so sad. That was a pretty fast acting cancer.

I feel so sad for the politicians that have buried their heads in the sand over Covid. 215,000 people dead is NOT something to ignore! Jeez

Prayers the teacher did okay today.

I worked from home. Two meetings that went very well. I was able to finalize both and get out some meeting invites as well. Not as busy as I would have liked it to be because my email and phone went off throughout the day.

I don't know if I told you all that my coworker passed away last week. She was okay in July, but in August was diagnosed with liver cancer. They were going to start treatment September, but she developed an infection and was dehydrated. She was in the hospital for over 3 weeks trying to get her well enough to have chemo, but they realized her cancer was so aggressive there was little they could do. She was sent home on Tuesday night and passed away early Wednesday morning. She was such a lovely woman, so genuinely kind and passionate about her work. She will definitely be missed in our office.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

I won't be into Tyndall until 11 am this morning. I hope that things went well for our problem teacher to get school and get into her classroom. I just feel like this a tragedy waiting to happen.

Covid-19 continues to rise here like there is no tomorrow. The governor's last message on things as all the rural hospitals no longer have ICU beds for these people [and the larger hospitals in bigger towns are becoming inundated] is to say that the health department is doing too many tests. My gut feeling is that she doesn't care if people die, she just doesn't want their deaths chalked up to Covid-19.

Dear Lord Barb! I pray this teacher does not create a worse situation for herself or others. I cannot imagine why she would want to rush so quickly. Her health and the safety of everyone has to come first!

Kim....I pray the surgery happens as scheduled and that it goes well.

I have no idea why I did not log in yesterday! It was a busy day, but I am usually mindful of logging and looking up recipes or something else on Spark. Oh well. I did have a productive day and I worked from home writing drafts for Monday and Tuesday. I need to do some scheduling too.

Problem teacher contacted Cindy and said that she didn't answer the phone because it was dead. I find that hard to believe because all the hospitals in Sioux Falls have these charging stations that have any number of cords that would fit any phone. All she would have had to do was to tell someone to bring in the charging station (they're portable).

Anyway, she is coming back to school tomorrow. She has to wear a heart monitor. She did confess to Cindy that they do think she had another "slight" stroke. They are having her wear the heart monitor because of type of disrhythmia they heard in her heart. Why is she coming back so soon. Does she actually want to collapse in front of her students? She says she is cleared to drive. I can't believe that any doctor would say she is fit to drive. Do they know how far she drives each day to get to and from work. Lord help us all.

The temps have dropped here too and the wind is still whipping.
That teacher needs a dr. who tells her flat out she can't work any longer. She'll probably drop dead at school one day. I just hope she doesn't hurt anyone else when she's out driving.
Saw the orthopedist this morning and I have to have surgery. Blah....He will put a pin in, leave it for 4 weeks, then remove it. After that I can do any activity I can tolerate so that's good. I was really excited when they said they could do it Wednesday. When I went to schedule it the gal said that because I have a cardiologist, I have to see him first SO that is Wednesday. Surgery will be the following Monday, the 26th. They weren't going to get me in until the 29th which is another 2 weeks. I really want to get this done so I can start the healing process. They're squeezing me in and she said it will be late in the day so sorry, you can't eat or drink anything all day. Oh well, if it results in weight loss I can survive. I finally lost weight this week! I had lost 36 lbs, then gained back 17 so I'm working on getting that back off and getting to goal weight....again.

That's sad to think this teacher doesn't realize what everyone else knows to be the best resolution to this situation. Fingers crossed she doesn't show on Monday.
