Thanks Ladies for the prayers. I talked to her this afternoon. They took two samples sucessfully,They were not able to get the third sample due to bleeding that they could not stop. She is spending the night in the hospital for obsservation. Her husband drove down last night from Pa.

I saw the audiologist today. He told me I have BPPV, short for Benign Paroxsmal Positional Vertigo. I thought I was just a "dizzy broad".

VGinny, you are soo right. We can't believe it!! New Orleans is still celebrating, most people stayed up all night. Getting to work was a breeze this morning. Very little traffic, since everyone was just going to bed. It was a GREAT game!! WOOHOO!!!

Mary, you are right, king cake is for Mardi Gras, but this year it became part of Super Bowl parites because of the Saints!!

We are having sun today, with rain tonight and cold and rain the rest of the week. Yuck!! I will try and remember all of this cold when it's scorching in August!!!

Good Morning Girls!
I'm glad I live in Sunny Florida--No snow here!

I need you all to put my mom,Essie on your prayer list. She had a CT of the chest. It showed a caverous silver-dollar size spot on one of her lungs. This is indicative of TB or lung cancer. She goes for a biopsy tomorrow morning at 7am.
We will have the results by Wednesday. Keep her in your prayer.

I see the Neurologist on Wednesday for my results of all the testing I had for the migraines. I'll keep you posted.

Good deal! A lot of people are getting hammered with all that snow. An AARP Group that I belong to online posted a picture of their house and all you could see was the roof. I just couldn't do that.

We have your sunshine today and no snow!

My son and his crew are coming for the game at my place. I will have snacks, like chips and dip, and veggies and ranch dip. that way, I can munch too. I don't know what else, but that is my thinking so far. I'm still having coffee so my brain isn't firing up great ideas yet. It is cold and the wind is howling so April and I just snuggled in and stayed in bed until way after 9:00!

Beware all you ladies up North, the wind is coming.

Super bowl Sunday is coming and we have been invited to friends not sure if I will go I really don't care for football and then all that food that I don't need.

Snowed again over night not to much but have to sweep the sidewalks again.

Superbowl time....!?! I better call my son-in-laws and tell them I really need some help on plumbing! Ha ...I always call them because I know they will not miss the superbowl. There answer is always "goodluck,hope it gets fixed"! Ha Not very sensitive are they? LOL

Yes there are sayings here to Cassie, we say we are making a grocery bill when we go and get groceries. also, instead of saying "I'm about to go shoping." we say "I'm fixing to go shoping."

You would not believe it but there are king cakes in the bakeries at the grocery stores right now, but I believe it has something to do with mardi gras, maybe instead of the superbowl. The superbowl cakes are a big football. No cake for me!

Christy, that is a good plan. You can enjoy yourself, just count your calories or whatever you are doing.

We had a Saints party at work yesterday and I ate king cake too. We ordered one shaped like a fleur de lis and the icing was black and gold. It really came out good.

Cassie, we're having friends over for a SuperBowl get-together Sunday, too. I'm cooking gumbo, friends are bringing fruit/veggie trays and a kingcake (I may splurge and have a SMALL piece), and we'll have some of the standard chips/dips and a relish tray. But I'm going to eat a good breakfast, salad for lunch, and "bank" a few extra calories for the SuperBowl goodies--that way I don't feel left out but I also don't overdo it.

On our news this week, they are showing people in Miami and showing them different LA sayings and asking if they knew what they meant. They couldn't get anyone to even say WHO DAT, not that I blame them tooo much, but anyway it was fun seeing people react to common sayings here. We say we are going to make groceries, instead of buying them and pass a good time means you are having a good time. Things that you would only hear and see here!! Anyway, y'all have a GREAT weekend.

Last Saturday, the divas, my Redhat chapter toured a restored plantation home and then had lunch at a restaurant that used to be slave quarters. It was very interesting and FUN!! Of course we doing all of that in 40 degree weather. That is what Redhatting is all about, having FUN!!

This weekend I intend to stay home out of the rain and cold!!

Vicki, I bet that is really a workout shoveling that snow. Thanks for looking at April's little pictures. Actually ex hubby didn't want me to get a dog either, but I did it anyway and he loved her! I purposly didn't say the word "obey" in my marriage vows, NOPE! LOL

Tonight is date night for me and little April. We will go to her favorite hamburger restaurant so she can have a few bites (in the car of course) and then we will head over to Lowe's and stroll around with her in the basket and everyone pets and kisses her and she loves it! Great date night if I do say so myself!

Jo, I'm sorry you have been ill. I wondered why you weren't coming to chat. I hope you feel better really soon. My brother was getting dizzy too, his blood pressure was too low. He has been in the hospital, but is doing better.

Mary, a cute fireman would be the ideal person to give us a kick. I'm trying to do better, but with all the Saints Super Bowl parties, it has really been hard!!

Judy, the meal sounds great!! Keep up the good work. We had seafood gumbo last night and since you can't make a small amount we will have it all weekend.

It's cold and rainy here as well, so I will join you ladies in a cup of tea. I have raspberry royale and peach. Either one will be make me warm!!

Vitchy, stay warm and don't hurt yourself with all the shoveling!! Take care of yourself!!

Hi Jo! so sorry you have been sick. I knew you went out to dinner with someone who was sick and then you got sick. I wonder if you being dizzy is an inner ear infection? that used to happen to me every now and then from blowing my nose when I was sick. I would have to take something for it because I would be so dizzy.

I will join you in some tea. I have a nice orange spice I think I'll have with a bit of honey. It is cold and rainy here and I just can't get warm when it's that way until I have a couple of cups of nice hot tea.

I guess we are all lined up for a good bottom kicking. Hey! Maybe we could find some cute firemen to do it LOL.

Judy, that sounds like a great meal. I had some left over salmon and had a baked sweet potato myself and some fresh green beans.

well, just read all the posts, you gals have been busy with one thing and another.

i have been ill for the past 4 weeks so unless i ran out of something like milk had to stay home. it seems to be in my throat, nose and head think it might be a combination of cold and sinus. had to be careful walking so kept the walker close at hand. semed to get very dizzy at times. the weather has been terrible here.

went to one RH meeting a few days before taking ill. don't think our club will last much longer. our Queen hasn't be back for several months due to illness and lots of confusion, started it all before XMAS. i checked out the Boca Raton club but found it folded again. there isn't much interest in RH clubs in my area of FL.

Thank God i have exercise equipment at home so started a little for the last 2 days. perhaps next week i will try to go to gym and out a little. don'tlike to drive unless my head is clear.

i had wanted to shop for a TV, mine is 16 years old and since our cable has gone completely digital, i need a new one but will have to check it out. i need delivery and hookup and possibly a new TV stand as the sets are larger. most stands have to be assembled so will have to see what i can do. will wait a couple more weeks as i want to make sure i will not overdue activity.

take care everyone - keep warm and healthy - i expect to hear about all the weight loss by the end of Feb. i know you all can do it. i go to the doctor 3/2 hope i did not gain anything with my inactivity. as i am getting older, my body is changing but so far weight has remained thesame.

now trying to get my BP lower - right now it is staying in the 30's. guess when you are older and under stress, it changes. hard to take though since i was always on the low side. but then, i use to do more walking but with my foot, haven't been able to do that. oh well, i do what i can.

and right now, it is tea time. join me i am having Peppermint ginger. very good.

Reain here tonight and tomorrow and Saturday. Our Redhat trip to Sacramento has been canceled. We may go to a craft shop Saturday and do some painting.

I ate good today. Salmon, broccoli and sweet potato. It was yummy. Even the kids enjoyed it. They can be so picky.

Hi Mary Mary you might have a idea... The big trouble is that when I get to working in the yard my blood pressure drops because of the hypotention. I do have to watch my blood pressure the other way too...but....oh heck...I don't know!?! Very confusing.

As far as a kick in the booty....where is the line girl friend?

Hi eveyrone! Judy, do you have high blood pressure? I was just reading about your nose bleeds. When I get nose bleeds, it's because my blood pressure is high and I need to take an extra pill. You should get that checked my friend. Yep I know, another doctor is just what you need right? LOL

Anyway, I will be praying for a good outcome for your surgery on the 19th! I've got it written down.

Ok, now who was it that was needing a good kick in the patootie? was that Queenie down there? Girl we gotta get you back on track hon! Let me know what I can do to help and I surely will.

Went to the Dr. today. Surgery is set up for the 19th. Just wanna get it over with. They are going to deform me before it's over. Shaping up would be good!?! LOL

Good afternoon, Red Hat sisters! Just popping in for a moment. Needing some sisterly support--I'm feeling frustrated, irritated, unmotivated, and FAT! I just can't seem to get started this time...6 years ago I lost 65 lbs, but over the last 18 months I've regained 45 lbs of it. It seemed so much easier last time to get motivated, but this time I'm eating like a pig and doing absolutely NO exercise, and I KNOW that I can't keep on like this. Anybody in a butt-kicking mood today? I could use a swift boot to the rear...LOL! HELP!

It's good to hear from everyone!! I have missed the last several days, but I'm looking forward to a new month of being healthy.

I like my tea with splenda and cream. The biscotti recipe sounds delicious. I will try it for our anniversary lunch on Saturday Feb 27th. It will be our Redhat chapter's 6th anniversary!!

Good! February 1 is here and I am stoked to do the 28 day challenge. I went to the grocery store and got stocked up on healthy snacks. I got some fresh fruit and veggies. I bought some beautiful Salmon and a small Pork Tenderloin that I will grill and have a few medallions for dinner one night this week. I've got my Leslie Sansone tape ready and it's going to be pretty most of the week and up into the 50's so the puppy will get walked and I will get extra exercise. I intend to make this my year and this is the beginning!

Here is my recipe for Soft Spice Biscotti

1 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. water
2 large egg whites
1 large egg
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Baking Spray
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. combine first 9 ingredients in a large bowl and beat at low speed for one minute. Combine flour and baking powder; gradually add flour mixture to sugar mmixture, beating until well blended (dough will be soft.) Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and shape dought into 3 (6-x 4-inch) rectangles. Place rectangles on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray and flatten to 3/4-inch thickness. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove rectangles from baking sheet; let cool 10- minutes on a wire rack. Cut each rectangle diagonally into (3/4") slices. Yield: 2 dozen (serving size: 1 cookie) This is from my old All Things Sweet Cookbook from Weight watchers and don't let that fool you, these are terrific and well receieved at any event. My husband likes them very much too and he is my tester... if anyone counts points, they are 2 points for each good sized cookie.
