I contacted Keurig.com and should have done so in the first place.

They asked for the serial number. Then, within about 2 minutes, they told me what I needed to buy.

I was going to buy off of their website, but the shipping was astronomical. I got on eBay where the shipping was free! Woo Hoo.

I cannot wait to use my Keurig again! I should receive the part by next Friday!

Did you get one, yet. I can't remember if we used to take ours out and rinse it and use it til we got another filter. It was so long ago. emoticon

Yes, I am talking about the water reservoir filter. Needs to be replaced.

Did you check the filter inside the water reservoir? I used to have a Keurig that constantly had problems.
I have an Icoffe or something like that that I bought from Boscov's. I love it plus it takes any one of the cups and was cheaper.
I hope you get it going.

The Keurig is refusing to work. I got the vinegar out. Still, not working. I was told the contraption needs a new internal filter. uuugh

I find the disposable filters to be more neat and tidy, instead of coffee grinds getting all over the place. Just toss in the trash.

My son uses the reusable k pup. I can't get it to taste right when I tried it. I did see the disposable ones at Wal-mart. Are they any good?
I think it would be cheaper to use.

I use disposable k-cup filters. I buy either at Wal-Mart or on eBay. For me, if not, there is a mess to clean up. I personally like a dark roast whenever possible.

My Christmas Eve dinner had cost me no more than $5.00. I have always been a carb lover, from whatever weight I weighed through the years.

My Kool-Aid lemonade should be chilled enough now. Too bad it's not spiked.

Have a blessed Christmas Eve!

I've put the Keurig up for room to place stick-blender. I use a reloadable K-cup though to avoid waste. BTW, anything past a medium roast for coffee beans is burnt & a way to cover up cheap/ poor quality/mold-bearing beans. Medium is the choice recommended by true coffee-tionatos. Coffeelatuers? Coffee-heads? help!?

Read through the thread. Some good suggestions!

A lot of people I know use Keurig or a knock off I find the K-Cups cost prohibitive on a budget even if I can afford it, and the waste generated is not my cup of tea! I use a pour over most days or a Mocha Pot on the stove. I'm not super particular about coffee but I get SBC Henry's Blend usually and Kroger's store brand and mix it, I am good. Don't drink Starbucks coffee, its over roasted and bitter for my palate! I do spend a little bit more for hot tea though. I am particular about tea. Ginger Peach, Earl Grey, Cardamon Cinnamon, Chai, and Safari Sunset are my favorites in fall, winter and spring.

I don't drink soda because it's not my friend since I have been a teenager. The sugar is not great for you and Diet seems just as bad so I won't drink it. So that is budget friendly. I don't use faux sugar but have a few sugar tsp in my coffee. I use soy milk because I don't drink or consume dairy or use creamers.

I went to the store the other day and had the butcher make me up 3 turkey breasts and I seasoned them Tuesday so they will go into the oven and take a short time later today. Those heavy turkey's are bad for my back and knee LoL. Cranberry Sauce, Yams, Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes and Gravy are it for today. Dinner Rolls and either a small Lemon Cake and Pumpkin Pie round out the meal. Leftovers from the turkey will be really nice over the next few days.

I have Dollar Tree and the 99 cent store here, not often I go there because I find Wal-Mart, Target or Amazon has better deals. Dollar Tree is good for birthday cards, wrapping paper and that kind of thing. At the grocery its a good time of the year to stock up on butter which is usually $5-6 for 4 sticks, shameful. Right now here, I've seen it 2 for $5 or $2.99. I picked up 10 blocks to keep frozen until I need it and then refrigerate it. Soda and Potato Chips are on special also for company. I like Extra Toasted Cheez-its and I get the family sized box which was on sale a few days ago-2 bags in the box.

I eat the same breakfasts with a little rotation. Either Oatmeal, Grits (Grew up eating it with a little butter and salt) sometimes over hard eggs on a sandwich or pancakes or french toast once in a while. Coffee or Tea usually. Lunch can be soup or salad. Maybe a sandwich and fruit with cold tea. Dinner-I don't eat much meat which is a budget saver for sure. I eat tofu or starches because I am mostly vegan. I love soba noodles, orzo, quinoa, whole wheat pasta, baked potatoes, tomatoes, black beans, beans in general etc so I have a good diet going.

Fruit is a weakness because I don't care for it mostly. Who doesn't like fruit LoL. I can eat apples, red grapes, avocado, tomato, pineapple, strawberries and peaches but most fruit I avoid it.

I signed up for the newsletter, but I've still been fighting with the keyboard and laptop with keys getting stuck, working sometimes if numbers lock is on or if caps lock is on, or both. I've uninstalled the driver for the laptop built-in keyboard. Unfortunately, it continues to allow some keys to still function. I ask anyone, how can that be?

I've gotten those recipe newsletters before but hadn't tried the slow-cooker one; or at least I don't recall doing so. My difficulty is that there is so much hassle to actually get to the recipe. I know, bit wah!

I came across these and just had to share!

Instead of making drinks cup by cup or pitcher by pitcher, make a crock-pot of these! Either serve yourself all day and night or allow guests to serve themselves also if having a party.

I hope you find useful!

Instead of Sweet n Low, I use pancake syrup or chocolate syrup or packets of hot chocolate. Tastes delicious. I had been at the point of 3 packets of Sweet n Low per cup. I shall see how this change works out!

Well, I believe that moderation in using real food is our best guide and I do have trouble actually doing that in a consistent manner day in and day out. Re: artificial sweeteners, apparently confuse the body’s ability to calculate the calorie content of foods, and compensating for that becomes difficult for your body to do. I'd think that requires the human to do the calculating and compensating then.

Think of two tricks: After eating for 20 minutes or so the brain will receive a message to stop or slow eating. For those who wish to break food eating records, or take full advantage of buffets, one must eat all you can before you approach the 20min deadline (it might come a little early, we are not computers nor machines). So, if you want to eat less than one must at least at first slow down the time you take to eat your food during each meal. Yes.

Second trick: It is possible to trick your body into processing what you eat as if it were heavily laden with fat by consuming, say 1-2 Tbsp of olive oil, prior to a meal in which you will eat moderate-to-low fat content food. This should cause your body to start a radical search for body fat to process the incoming meal. When done with regularity you should be able to train your body to keep going to the "fat Depot" to digest food with, thus reducing your body fat content. Yea!

I did this to lower my cholesterol levels in 2005, and the dietician at the VA was astonished. I asked if I should stop, and she said: "No, it appears to be working". Good cholesterol in -- bad cholesterol out = better health.

I must say though that I found it most palatable to consume in a shot glass with warm lemon juice (mint flavoring, etc) to follow -- inhale + shoot the oil past the taste buds + follow with the chaser + continue holding breath until you must release to exhale. Breathe through the nose for a couple of minutes after if you can. This is how to teach someone to do shooters of rye whiskey or other potent consumptives without inhaling the fumes and coughing wickedly after doing so. I knew all those days drinking with the old guys playing pool decades ago would come in handy one day... Ugh.

Pepper jack cheese at $Tree? Oh yes, At basically $3 a pound it is the cheapest real cheese I know of. It is real cheese, not a cheese food product. I've used it to eat with crackers and fruit, as well as melt it within a burrito. Woo Hoo

The bread at $tree we buy is "Nature" something... they have a good fiber count on two of their bread loaves (and one is listed for one slice being a serving, the other lists for two slices.)

I'm getting to be quite the fan again of $tree.

I ran out of bread yesterday. So, I went to Dollar Tree and picked up a loaf. Their bread is actually good! I should have bought a few loaves of bread and placed the few loaves in the freezer. I know better next time.

DT used to carry jalapeno American cheese. I liked to buy such cheese. Cheaper than buying a pound at the deli. That's for sure. But, now they have pepper jack instead. Is pepper jack any good?

I'll check it out. I just learned today that vanillin is a synthetic compound created to imitate the critical compound found in the seed pod of an orchid.

So I learned something today.

What about vanilla syrup?

For example, Torani vanilla syrup for drinks? They sell vanilla syrup for drinks at Dollar Tree, just not the Torani brand. Look in the coffee aisle. What about substituting a good ice cream syrup for imitation vanilla?

I've been making hot chocolate with cocoa (unsweetened) and sugar with water preheated to about 185 degrees F. I most often add a couple shakes of cinnamon and a sprinkle of nutmeg. The cinnamon is added for health purposes as well as taste. I hope to get ahold of some vanilla soon, but our budget so far says no. I have not found good imitation vanilla here in San Antonio, but in Albuquerque, there was one that was a mix of real and imitation flavor that I used to buy.

Any suggestions?

I ended up making neither soups. So, something to look forward to!

For the wedding soup, I bought a bag of DaVinci orzo. The last bag on the shelf! I have the spinach, meatballs, chicken broth, etc. So, prepared for action!

I have been drinking hot chocolate. What are you having?

I want to make wedding soup this weekend with a salad. I forgot that I wanted the soup today until just a few minutes ago. My roommate wants homemade chicken noodle soup tomorrow but we do not have the egg noodles. Yikes! Then, she does not like wedding soup. Do you realize my predicament? LOL

Have a wonderful Saturday.

For dinner we are having a salad with leftover chicken-tenders, then possibly grilled cheese and soup. I'm a little jealous of your pot of lasagna though, all things considered. But we are big fans of grilled cheese made with Tillamook sharp cheddar, and a hot bowl of soup is right up our alley with the cold weather here. I mean, here in Texas and its 63 degrees?

Que? I came South to get away from the cold. If I wanted cold and wet I'd move back to the Pacific NW where everything is green, lots of fishing, hiking in the mountains, skiing on the snow or the melted snow (aka water skiing). Where I'm an hour or two away from Canada, the desert, farmland, the coast, islands, sailing on the ocean. Back where I have a ton of relatives who like to get together regularly for meals and parties. No, I did not move to Texas to get cold.

I understand about drinking plain water... sorry about the cola crunch in your economy. I'll be trying to think of options.

About the space or lack thereof in your kitchen, have you thought of hanging pots and such from the ceiling?

We have frying pans and small pots hanging from a strip once used to hang coats and ball caps on the wall. It is above head heighth as you enter into the kitchen across from a small closet that we pretend is a pantry.

Two people cannot get past each other in our kitchen. The fridge is in a little nook that prevented the door from opening all the way. I pulled it out into that space and then turned it sideways so it opened into the kitchen. I then put a standing rack in the new space between the fridge and the wall and also put brooms and mops back there. That bought us a little more space in the room and in the cupboards by doing those two things.

My kitchen is the smallest room in my house. What was the architect thinking? Anyway, any tips on doubling the space?

I cannot always afford my diet cola habit, even when on sale. Today, I made a pitcher of Southern sweet tea & a pitcher of lemonade. The lemonade is kind-of weak, but better than not having to drink plain water. I have over a crate of bottle water & dread drinking the darn water.

My crockpot lasagna has an aroma filling the whole house. I cannot wait!

How is your day going? What is for din din in your parts?

gralan, what is an earwig?

The weather here has been so freezing-like.

I bought on-line Swiss Miss k-cups on-line at 72 k-cups for $28.00. This is quite a bargain. However, the hot chocolate tastes like chalky water. I have to use alot of chocolate syrup in the drink which is totally defeating the purpose! The Swiss Miss should taste like Swiss Miss without having to use the syrup!

I cannot recall every wanting a utility cart or a coffee station. But now there's an earwig in my head and I must consider this.

I will check out Cooks Air Fryer. Thanks for the reference.

I want a cute coffee station using a utility cart.

Last night, I was determined to find a utility cart.

Shopped everywhere.

I finally settled on a stand with 3 drawers underneath with attachable wheels. Not what I wanted, but is going to suffice for now. Next pay, I am going to shop for a nice utility cart on-line. Then, use the 3 drawer stand for paperwork.

Do any of you have coffee stations? YouTube has so many suggestions.

Hello team! Where are you?

Any good bargains?

Dollar Tree has huge bags of french fries in their freezer section...crinkle, shoestring and steak. Last week, I bought 3 bags of shoestring. Leave in the air fryer on 375 F for 8 minutes then voila! A little vinegar & salt, they end up tasting like county fair fries!

I have "buckeyes" in the fridge, but I have them sparingly. Simply, bottom layer peanut butter & then top layer chocolate icing. Both may be found at...drum roll...Dollar Tree!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

It is called a "COOKS" air fryer.

I have been preparing alot of quick meals with it, such as burgers & fries, hot dogs & fries, etc.

There are people who would rather have greasy food. But, this is so much better.

I've hesitated about the purchase of an air fryer. I'd like to hear more about your experience, the brand of the one you use. We hardly get much use of our little deep fryer but even our convection oven doesn't do fries well enough.

Glad things are moving along for you.

I tried to get online to get paid for some things and discovered I was going about it all wrong apparently. I've been inundated with a plethora of calls, texts, and emails all promising the moon and only delivering more calls, texts, and emails. Arrrgh. emoticon

I submitted an article at 1 pm & want to spend some quality time on Sparkpeople for a few.

How is your day going?

I cannot wait for lasagna tonight!

What are you having for din din tonight?

Did you have any miraculous savings this week?

My roommate allows me to use her air fryer. The contraption is a blessing. I buy big bags of frozen french fries at Dollar Tree.

I am exhausted. Being a freelancer, if you want money, you have to put in the hours.

Yesterday, I made burgers on whole wheat bread with steak sauce & pickles.

Today, not sure what bargain to create!

I really am sorry for not being here every day, but doing the best that I can.

After returning last night from a weekend away, I could not wait for real food. I had packed bologna & pepperoni with bread so as not to raid my friend's pantry. When I got home late last night, I did not care how late, I threw in potatoes & kielbasa in the crockpot & had German Potato Salad with Kielbasa!

I have some left & am going to finish today.

What is for din din at your place?

Today was an Acapulco Tuna Salad day. A staple recipe for me.

They say the way to a man's heart is thru his stomach. Well darn it, where is he? 2 women keep showing up! aka: my roommates LOL

On inventory, we bought pepperoni! I cannot wait for pepperoni sandwiches! (Our inventory means the groceries we 3 girls each pitch in for.)

Have a super evening!

Electronic angst?

I cannot have one more peanut butter sandwich. Not going to do it.
I love yogurt so much that I cannot stop at one.
Nuts are too expensive.

Thank you anyways GRALAN.

I think my roommate's keto diet is affecting me. I am a Mediterranean.

Basics: Nuts, plain yogurt, and whole grains are low in calories and high in fuel content.

Specifics: Almonds, pistachios, peanut butter, oatmeal, herbed & spiced popcorn, bananas, raisins, kale, Greek yogurt, and hummus are listed specifically.

It is said that it might not be best to overdo caffeine beverages.

This is as best I can do in short notice.

Sorry to hear about all your machine failures.

I've lost many school assignments due to such things. I ended up not finishing my Theology degree for that. I'm wanting now to do so, it'll take 6 months or so and fortunately under $200. I'm familiar with electronic angst is all I'm meaning to let you know.

Short enough?

I have used a diet that was for using 1-2 days in a row only. All lean meats, less than 20% fat, with no sugars, additional fats, oils, greases, etc. You could use a bit of onion, celery, or bell pepper to help choke all that meat down, and I used a lot of yellow mustard. Vinegar is not a fat, oil, or grease. Candy, Soda pop, alcohol, fruit juices are to be avoided as well. Water, coffee, tea are the beverages of choice.

The point was to try to force your body to be drawing from its fat storage to process the proteins, hence I did it two days in a row.

Steamed chicken breast was my main choice. Drink lots of water, make sure you are taking your medications and be sure to do a multivitamin.

It is dangerous actually to mess with one's body chemistry doing the "Atkins" style of dieting for long term. I know of no medical experts who recommend it. But to do it once a week, two days in a row, pushed my weight loss tremendously. I hadn't thought about that in a long time, it was over 2 decades ago when I lived in Seattle.

I was told to eat reasonably moderate, lots of veggies and greens/fruits, portion control of carbs and proteins. Remember, any calories going down our throat convert to body fat or blood sugars.

All the relatives I have who are eating vegetarian diets as a lifestyle look like they're starving visitors from a foreign land. Their color is off, their lack of good protein sources for the body to cannibalize one's own muscles. So that kind of thin is not good, and they are prone to illness and injury.

I have known those relatives for over 40 years, and there are more than 60 of them I personally know and we are a family that likes interacting frequently with each other. I have also observed the same condition with other people in this country and in foreign countries I have lived in or visited.

Life on the cooking scene has been a challenge. 3 roommates all having 3 different diets.

LOL

Have you ever heard of the Carnivore Diet? Such diet has kind-of sparked my interest. A woman, on a side hustle that I write for, lost 6 pounds in 7 days. The diet seems like a rather easy lifestyle. No calorie counting either. Just everything eaten has to be meat. Her drinks are good also. Coffee, water, tea, diet cola, ... What are your thoughts? You figure, you can stock up on meat sold at Dollar Tree!

Following, do you ever go to use a coupon and the cash register goes bonkers telling the cashier not valid? If so, what do you do? Do you ask to see the manager or simply go without buying the item (s)?

I was playing at Maths, rather than with Mathematics.

16oz of water drank 30 minutes before each meal statistically accounts for 10-12 lbs weight loss over the course of a year. That was tested with a group who sipped water at the meal compared to those who drank 16oz prior to the meal and sipped water at the meal. The latter group lost more weight following the same diet plan.

I'm trying to let folks know, as this is a simple addition to a plan to be healthy and even to stay healthy. Or as some experts say, since diet means "what we eat" this water trick is a lifelong habit for healthy living, not just some fad proposed like Keto - Atkins - NoCarb - High Fat - etc.

Peace to all whom God is well-pleased with,
just as the angels proclaimed.
May the forks be with you,

Want to lose perhaps up to 12 lbs a year with little effort and no cost?

Do that by drinking 16oz, of plain water, thirty minutes before each meal?

16 + 30 x 3 = 10 lbs or more

That's crazy math, eh?

I love beans... black, kidney, etc.

So, as neither housemate can have on their diets, I am going to prepare a bean concoction of mine to keep in the fridge, to have as a simple grab & go, especially in jars.

In the Mediterranean diet, beans are to be eaten daily. I was raised on the Mediterranean diet. But, we hardly ever ate beans. No sure of the reason. But, one thing is for sure... I miss my momma's cooking! Homemade pasta and a fresh garden salad right out of the garden!

Myself? Throwing some boneless skinless in the crockpot in order to make some good chicken salad later.

I need to do some menu planning tonight with the roommates. With all of the restrictions between the two, I need to know who wants what every day, instead of finding out at the last minute. A weeks worth of planning should be good, as we got our inventory today.

It has been raining quite a bit here lately, for south-central Texas. I've been telling folks a couple years now that if I'd wanted the rain and cloudy days I'd have moved back up to the Pacific Northwest rather than having moved here to Texas.

Actually, we've been getting a little more than the average rainfall for Longview Washington over the past couple of years. And some say the weather ain't changing. Bah!

I gotta go try to lay down now. I'm running on 32 hours awake in the past 48. But the fireworks will get me, who am I kidding. Well, no rest for the weary.

Does it rain much in your parts? I do not mind rain, just no storms.

Why not toss burritos and steaks two ways? Have some burritos and some steaks?

I would simply use your every day steak sauce with some common usual hot sauce? I am all about simplicity. No?

Today I need to utilize a 2.6lb Beef Chuck Tender Roast I bought at Target with a $5 Off sticker (which ended up being more than 1lb of meat worth free). That means I froze it, and had pulled it out to defrost in the fridge this past week.

We keep our refrigerator at 38-40 degreesF. So it does indeed take a while to thaw frozen items.

I'm not sure but I'll probably cut the roast into steaks and nuke some potatoes and serve a green salad. I'd be smart to make some Carne Asada with it (+ tator chunks), with rice and beans, but I don't know I'm up for that today. Burritos or steaks, hmmm. Maybe I should fire up the bbq and hot smoke the heck out of it. hahaha

We have mild weather for San Antonio TX, it is currently 29C/84F & mostly cloudy so it is cool enough to sit out with the barrel smokers they have by the swimming pool. I know, 84 degrees seems funny to say "cool", but in our neck of the woods it surely is that.

I'm not even near perfect, but I know someone who is.

I am a pro at Cincinnati Chili! I serve the dish atleast once a week! However, I only use pinto for the beans part. Since the roommates cannot have the chili... more for me!

Are you cooking anything special today? Not sure what to concoct here.

I need to clean sometime today and do the side hustle thing today.

Just to let you know that you can use any kind of pot with a fitting lid and some metal clasps or weight to seal the lid for the spaghetti. I use the pressure cooker since it certainly seals beyond tight, don't ya know.

Beans with spaghetti remind me of the dish: Cincinnati Style Chili; a particular chili served 5 ways traditionally, but always over spaghetti noodles. It is quite the story to hear of its origin and history. Served alone is 1-way, over spaghetti is 2-way, 3-way adds beans, 4-way includes chopped onions and 5-way is chili+noodles+beans+onions+shredded cheese. Requests in most places in that city would be to call out usually "5-way". The chili they use is a meat sauce. Similar to Texas-style chili, beans are added or not to the dish as desired.

If you use Jalapeno in a sauce it will produce a green sauce, and that's just fine. Some folks just utilize Red or Green Enchilada sauce even, so you could use either for a base to which you add your preferred ingredients to.

Sometimes the red sauce is labeled Colorado sauce.

I'm not even near perfect, but I know someone who is.

Seems delicious!

I do not have a pressure cooker.

Would you think jalapeno would be good in it too?

One roommate can only have puree/soft food. The other roommate started the Keto diet yesterday. So, guess what this gal has to do? The soft food mate is very considerate as she buys stuff already made to consume. Where the other mate, I have always had to cater to. She is the one that always wanted mac n cheese. Remember?

Anyway, last night I made a bean concoction. Tasted so good.

black beans
kidney beans
corn
browned beef
spaghetti sauce
chicken broth

Nuked then ate. So simple and delicious!

Ooh, I'm so sorry I missed this one.

Today I crushed up some NM dried chiles, nuked it to keep it near boiling in a 1/4C water. Then I added garlic pwdr, anise seed, 1 Tbsp flour and mixed that together to make a paste. To that I added about 1/2C water, mixed and nuked in 15sec increments. Each increment I whisked the paste. I did that for one and a half minutes. Then I added frozen meatballs I bought $2 off at Target, a handful of kalamata olives, and nuked that 20min power 2. During that time I made spaghetti noodles in my pressure cooker (most of which got stored for quick use tomorrow).
I boil water in a sealed pressure cooker, then add noodles while I restore boiling. Then I seal it, and turn off the heat for the amount of time needed (Tonight it was 9 minutes).

So Red Chile & Meatballs Spaghetti. Yea! But then I'm a chile-head.

I would think you can just add them frozen into any crockpot recipe for sausages + peppers +onions, or such like that. I've been known to throw in a cut up apple or two with pork dishes. I'd go on High for 4-6 hours, and then serve it over rice although pasta should work as well. A can of stewed tomatoes and/or vegetables should brighten things up as well. Season as you'd like. Sometimes folks through in a can of beans (navy, pinto, or white) to add variety. The sausages will probably look pale, as most folks try to brown them in a skillet quickly before throwing them into the crock. If you thaw them out and then brown them you should be most happy I'd think.

The answer to both is yes. I think I'd do the sausage links in a homemade bbq sauce in the crock. Hey, you could even try putting that in with Mac&Cheese to please your roommate who digs "Mac is back". hahaha

In fact, you can cook frozen chicken from frozen but I would only do that with chicken breasts myself. I cooked chicken breasts from frozen just recently.

I applied some olive oil and garlic-herb salad dressing to the outside and roasted it for the time recommended (20 minutes from thawed), then flipped it to cook the other side, basted it again and roasted it another 20 minutes. Came out perfect. The basting was to prevent the chicken from drying out. I cooked it in our Microwave/Convection oven roasting it up by the burner elements.

I'd be interested in hearing what recipe you used for Chicken salad.

Hello team.

What's up? I am serving a big chicken salad for dinner.

Tonight, the roommates and I have to figure out our inventory list. Tempers usually flare when we do. We figure out a week's worth of groceries and household cleaners and get the stuff on Fridays.

Can you cook frozen sausage links in the microwave or crockpot? We have a package of them in our freezer that have been there forever.

Have a happy evening.

Got any good Chinese recipes that a gal could make in a crockpot?

You are very creative, and that's what I like.

Thank you for the PB&J tips!

What is your favorite bread? Mine is Italian. I refuse to use any other, unless simply plain white as I do not always have the money to splurge.

Guess what? I am going to be a more responsible team leader and member. I am going to be on a weekend vacation this upcoming weekend though, so not sure if I can be active then.

Be good! Class dismissed!

I have used PB in lieu of Asian Peanut sauces for Chinese, Thai, and Indian foods. I have also made PB&J burritos. PB mixed with canned chicken with peppers and unsweetened cocoa, topped with shredded lettuce, tomato, onion and plain yogurt make a good casserole mix, or loaded into another tortilla for a burrito. I suppose you could make a sandwich with it.

I've enjoyed cold refried beans with mustard sandwiches, but it helps in all these things to add herbs and seasonings as possible.

I'm thinking PB soup with celery and spices could work well. I'd thin it with chicken or vegetable broth/bouillon.

I think if you tried to make Indian foods with curry and chunky peanut butter as the main ingredients you'd find a hit. I'd serve that with brown rice that was dry-fried before adding liquids, and have a lot of veggies and perhaps 3oz of seasoned meat.

Let me know if that helps.

By the way, when someone only wants Mac & Cheese every day I'd tell them that unless the rest of us were eating some they'd have to pay for and prepare it themselves. But then that's me. I've had stubborn roommates. If one of them said you had to only eat a No Carb, Eat Fat diet, would you acquiesce? I know what choice I'd make.

Later 'gator.

No, I have never consumed avocado. The darn things just do not look very appetizing.

How has your week started?

I started drinking detox water quite a few days ago and feel so much better! So good that I cannot explain.

What do you say to a roommate wanting mac n cheese every day?

Do any one of you know any good recipes with peanut butter being the main ingredient? A person many years ago told me to include in fried rice. Anyone?

Looking forward to your replies!

You are funny!

I don't. I mostly just eat them without cooking or baking them.

Here is a link to a nice food blogger's website about 12 magical ways to use a food processor. She started with a garage-sale item, from the "free" box; which she says she washed about 500 times before using.

hahaha

Here is a link to ATK (America's Test Kitchen). I have an account there, the FREE kind. That means I can access things, especially if they come from the current year's program. However, they do offer a free trial period if you wish. I go to collect what I can for no cost.

This is their information onsite called Food Processor 101. I just accessed it and explored to make sure I could get at least the basics. I sure could.

Plus, here is a link to Amazon's Top Bestsellers link where I look for FREE ebooks. I read them on my FREE Kindle reading application for Personal Computers (PCs). They have craft to reference ebook categories, religion to self-help. Each of these categories has separate sub-categories. For instance, Cookbooks had sub folders for Regional, Special Appliances, and so much more.

For Free ebooks, make sure they show up as Free $0 to buy before you click on the "purchase". I have over 18K ebooks now. I have never had a hack issue nor difficulties that were not remedied.

I am going to post this data in other places at the Sparkteams I belong to so that others can take a look.

Yes! I like it! My first project is going to be making coleslaw! I am going to be on the lookout for cabbage on clearance!

What could I do with potatoes? Do they need to be cooked first?

Any other food processor tips?

One problem... I have no clue how to work it. LOL

Thanks GRALAN!

I've used my small food processor for shredding cabbage for slaw, doing a quick salsa, zipping up almonds into little pieces or making nut butter. I also use it for making my own high protein & low-fat ground beef by utilizing bottom roast, &c., from small chunks to compressable patty making stuff.

I've made bouillion by placing cubes in the coffee pot and running hot water through the machine before. hahaha I'm thinking it might make a way to do a small batch of par-boiling vegetables or something like it by putting the veggies in the filter portion and letting the hot water flow through it. What do you think?

Get creative, live longer with a clear mind.
