Mommy's right Missy. I've never had the same weight at both places. Think of when you're there, you've probably already eaten something that day, you probably have some clothes on too. That does add! At home, if you do it right, you do it nekked first thing in the morning after you've relieved yourself, that's a truer weight. You're doing great and don't ever feel like you're not!

I hope you get some rain soon Melissa, but I sure hope it's not from the storm going up the coast.
It's an almost perfect 77 here today. A little breeze now and then but oh so nice out. :)

Hi Linda!

I hope you're all having a good day. Love you! HUGS!

Don't be depressed Missy, you know the doctor's scales are usually way off from the ones at home and you know that you are under the 200 range. You are doing great. Be proud of yourself,it's a tough battle and you are doing it. Congrats on your success Missy!!

It's POURING right now! Is suppose to do it all day! We are heading to our friend's house for a BBQ. We'll still make the best of it though.

Wish I could send you some of this rain Melissa! It was pouring so hard yesterday I couldn't see the front of my car as I drove. It was also so muggy... oh it was thick out there! Could see why we had serve t-storms. So Melissa, you're not getting anything from this Hurricane coming up the sea coast?!?! That is all our rain for today!

Thank-you everyone for the love and talk about my blogs! I WILL do them again, but not right now. I enjoyed them too, just can't do it everyday and have to figure out how I'll do it... but I'm keeping the list, so I can have the word of the day to use...
emoticon

Melissa, I LOVE your thought of me and my cubs... hee hee. The only part that is wrong is I wouldn't be catching FISH, it would be ice cream... hee hee.

Also Melissa, congrats on your weight loss and how well you are doing!!! That's great!!! Feels good when it is working, huh?!!! Love also how you redid that recipe! I did a family challenge SP did and that was one of the challenges you had to do. Look at a loved recipe and redo it healthy. I did three of our favorites and we still enjoy them! I should try another one... Congrats to you!

So today is my weigh in day for my 5% challenge... well for me. And I was really high last week because of my period. I haven't started but was extremely bloated!!! Anywho, I was nervous this morning weighing myself and I was 3 lbs less... where I should be... with starting my period.

The point of me telling you all this... hee hee, sorry... is that Monday I had my physical, and this was the doctor who told me about SP. She is the reason I met my AMC BFF's!!! Well each time I went for my physical I seem to be getting bigger and I would tell her I'd doing SP, but no results.

So now that it finally clicked... on my 6th year on SP... I was so excited to weigh in with her, and I was HUGE! I was SO SO SO depressed!!! Their scale is always off (from my home one), but I knew I would be under the 200 and was so excited. Then the day came and I woke up bloated like a bus! I knew it would be bad. I was 4 lbs I gained in one evening! That's just wrong! Then you weigh in on there new scale, at the doctors, and I was 201.4! That was so wrong! Even at my heavy I was still under 200 on my scale. I could of cried!

Today, I finally feel like I'm not bloated and weighed myself for my 5% challenge and I was what I should of been at my doctor's appointment! Almost 10 lbs less! I know it's just a number and she can see from my last physical, even at that weight, I lost some, but still was a bad sad day for me. Nice to see I can write/type and good weigh in today and feel back on track!

Sorry, guess I just felt like sharing. I always feel better when I tell you all. Thank-you!
Okay, back to watching the World Cup... go France... Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July! Love you all!

I didn't know if anyone else was still answering the QOTD or not. If there are more than those of us who come here, then by all means keep it where it is!! I'd like to see as many people active on this team as possible!

You know Missy, my fmaily was always close to our priest. When I lived up in PA and was so sick as a child, often my mom would call our priest to take me to the hospital since my dad was working and she would get a bit hysterical. He always did. However, we never invited him over to our house. But, when we moved down here to VA my mom needed a family and she got very involved in the church and before ywe knew it we had a priest over to dinner at least once a month! The priest I really liked was told he could retire from our church and the rich folks who seem to control the church got him moved and we have a very cold, unfriendly guy now. I miss Father Charles and they put him in a place where he was even too busy to come help with my mom's funeral. I was very disappointed.

Susi, I gueess they do that last minute thing because they allow for any emergencies and other stuff to call for those outpatient surgery rooms. Glad you won't have to do rehab too!

Anyone can fake being a good, caring person for the interviewers and they always have someone snookered on whom they can call for references. But, if the agencies really asked other family members and such they would learn the truth. But, it is true that they need people to do it, so they get a little lax. And, yes these children are troubled and can be trouble, but with structure, discipline and counseling they can turn out OK. But, when place in the homes where so many are placed they are still lost and treated like animals and don't learn how to live and learn! I've seen some great foster mothers turn children's lives around with love, nurturing, discipline and structure. It was not easy for anyone, me included as the counselor, but it worked. They needed to know that someone truly cared for them and wanted to see them succeed in life! The sad thing that is that those cases are far too often the exception and not the rule!

Missy-- Send some of those T-storms my way! I don't really want storms, but will take them if it means rain! We need rain badly! You know we need it badly if I am wishing for it! Glad you and the cubs aree getting some pool time! You know, when I think of your cubs and you in a pool I imagine a Mama Bear and her cubs in an Alaskan or Washington river.... The river just streaming strong and the salmon jumping and the bears trying to grab them! I know, silly, but that is what I think of when I think of bears! HeeHee! I did enjoy yur picture blog even though I couldn't see them... I enjoyed reading your take on the word of the day and how you captured your interpretation.

Dee-- I am eternally happy with my pool! However, I am ready for a trip to the beach! I love the sound of the ocean! Glad it is your happy place!

So, I took one of my Grandma's recipes and made it very healthy. It is called suplushka and is a Czech dish of green beans with a bacon buttermilk gravy. My Grandma would put all kinds of extra grease in it to make the gravy and then my mom followed suit, but cut the extra grease by half and well, both of them developed congestive heart failure. I took the recipe and used center cut bacon, fat free buttermilk and fresh green beans from my garden! No extra grease needed and the FF buttermilk worked great! It tastes better than theirs and has about a tenth of the fat! Only 4 points per serving on WW where theirs was like 10! I'm very proud and that is what I am having for lunch today!

I started WW on May 21 and I've lost 6.8 pounds since. I'm losing slow, but I think that is a good thing. I'm very pleased.

I did my walking for the day already and will probably go out to the pool for some water aerobics and I think I'm ready for a good stretch. Probably will do a jessica Smith Yoga routine. I forgot to start her month long flat abs challenge on Tuesday! Better look back and see what to do there!

OK, just wanted to check in! Have a nice day!! Stay cool!

Gee, when you say it that way, I do sound pretty bad, hee hee. Our priest is moving about an hour or so a way... not like he's moving out of the state, hee hee. Silly me! I just rather have him close by. When our last one left (was with us for 5 years), it was very hard for me. I really liked him! After two years, we finally made the 1 to 2 hour drive to visit him. It was nice... and got a nice picture with him.

I guess since the cubs are older and they were all really close, I feel bad. But he'll stay in touch and I know my oldest cub will too.

That is really stupid to tell you the day before! I understand things can come up, but still... last minute?!!? SO GLAD Greg will be there for you!!! One prayer answered! Also great no rehab.

The thunder is starting up again and lights are flickering!!! I hope Papabear gets home soon. I feel safer with him home, hee hee.

Stay safe...

Oh how I wish we had a GOOD beach near us!

I don't see a problem with you posting the QOTD like you've been doing it. Not many, but more people find it there than they would here I think.

My call today is my surgery will be on the 18th. The hospital will call the night before and let me know the time. Why do they wait till the last second like that?? Dumb! How can a person really plan? Anyway, Greg can take that day for a vacation day so that's all set. They'll send me pre-op papers to fill out and orders for an ekg and blood work and I'll be set. Oh and no rehab for it either! emoticon

That was so nice of all of you to take your Priest out to dinner! I know you all are going to miss him. Is he going very far away? Hopefully he'll get things there in order and come back, but at least he'll keep in touch. :)

I took it fairly easy today. I did some walking but that was about all. My bad! LOL!

Good afternoon ladies!

Hanging at the beach sounds nice Dee. Have fun! Hoping to do that next week... Friday Papabear is on vacation with us!! That'll be nice! Hope we have just as nice weather as we do this week!

I would of loved to adopt, but we decided not too, due to the cost. As for Rena, that makes me mad that they don't get more into about these people before letting them foster! That's not helping the children in anyway!!! So sad!! I think they are desperate and need people, they don't REALLY check out these homes! So sad!

Susi - I hope the surgery goes well and is on the 18th... not pushed out. Fingers crossed all works out... and Greg can bring you!!!

It's another really hot day here. Not complaining, hee hee. They are talking t-storms. Hope not! I think the cubs and I will go in the pool soon... hee hee.

Melissa... I wish so much I could come and help you organize and decorate! I love doing it and would love to help you!!! We just have to win that lottery!!! hee hee.
Oh, and I loved doing my photos of the day. I think I'll start them up again soon, just will be like some photos of the week... hee hee. Something, but I enjoyed doing them too. Thank-you for saying you enjoyed them also! HUGS

Last night we took our Priest, who's leaving our parish, out to dinner. The cubs had gotten pretty close to him, so we decided to treat him. Our last priest who left we were close too also, but I was afraid to invite him over... now I'm older and didn't worry about it. It was a nice dinner and we'll miss him! But he'll stay in touch. Hopefully he'll help out this new parish and then be sent back to the city near us, so they cubs and still visit him! We'll see him in December though... he's my oldest cub's Confirmation sponsor... hee hee.

Okay, I'll go post the QOTD. I can post it here if you all want too?!? Just let me know.
Love ya!! Stay cool!

Missy, it would be nice if you could adopt a girl, but I sure don't recommend fostering. At least not from my view. Too many are really bad, bad kids and they are angry at the world and you just never know what they might do to the family. I guess I've seen too many shows about that kind of thing. :(

The camera sounds great! I would love to learn to keep certain colors and the rest in black and white, that would be so fun! :)

The surgery schedule isn't for sure yet. She said at the earliest he could do it would be on the 18th. So now we have to wait on the hospital for the for sure day and time before I know. The rooms may be all booked up for the 18th and he only does surgeries on Friday's.

Ya'll know what kind of person Rena really is. She was a terrible mother to her own girls and she's treating these kids the same way. It's a real shame she didn't use me for a reference because I would tell them the truth and she'd probably not be in the program. That's more than likely why she didn't use me, she knows what I would say. She can be very sweet to people when she has to, but they never see the rotten side of her. I'm not just making that up because we don't get along either.

Missy-- It is nice the cubs can use the pool while you help your friend decorate. I can't tell you how long I lived here before I put anything on the walls! You would be so ashamed! You jsut don't know how much I wished you lived closer so you could whoop me and my house into shape1 I could use your decroating and organizing skills! Oh, and I have a pool for the cubs to use! HeeHee! No, i really think you and Poppa Bear should concentrate on bringing your cubs up right. But, no one wants to adopt children who are not babies, so that would be awesome if you could do it! But, as you know better than me, kids are expensive! No way around it! Just be proud of who your cubs are and that is a result of you and your hubby! That is cool about the pics. Wish you would do the photo blog again! But, I know how time consuming that was for you!

Susi-- Did you schedule the surgery yet? Sounds like somethinG I would develop.... A backwards trigger thumb! Hope it will be an easy and effective fix for you! OK, bang up job on my exercise.... Love it! I love a pun more than anyone! Hahaha! Blah to Rena. No one should tell a child of any age to kiss their ass1 Hope Greg is the one to drive you to and from the MD, but if not, here's hoping Kelly can help! Miss Priss just needs a pedicure! A spa visit should make her more safe around me1

Missy-- BTW, why don't you just ask the QOTD in this thread for the summer? People will be coming in and out, so just ask here! That way you don't have to do anything special!

OK, really tired. I've really racked up the fitness minutes this week. Let's hope it shows on the scale tomorrow at WW!

Hello everyone! emoticon

Hope you all are doing well?!! Sorry I have been MIA and not posting my QOTD. We are all doing well, just enjoying our summer and staying busy... in a good way (wink).

Auntie Cyndie... Hope you have a wonderful, SAFE, trip seeing your parents/family! Always nice to get away!!! Enjoy your 4th of July!!!

Susi... hope you get good results and everything goes smoothly, whatever you have to have done. As for your sister and fostering... very nice of her to do, but some people are just not in it for the right reasons. Sad for the children and for others who really want to help others!

It's too bad the only way you can get help is with all the *rap. Not good for you and your Dad! I'm sorry they are not the best sisters! Good for you for staying firm with your weekends!!! You go girl!!

Dee.. great to see you!!! Welcome to Summer time!!! Your plans for your home sounds nice! take it slow and don't forget to enjoy your summer! As for retiring, I hope it all works out for you after next school year!

Melissa... 1st, you are the sweetest!! Thank-you for what you said about Papabear and I!!! We have thought about it many times (fostering), but figured we didn't want to put our cubs through that. Know people who have been through a lot fostering! If we could, we would adopt a little girl... age 10, 11, 12'ish... but it's not that easy, and we don't have the money. So we just love our cubs and help the youth we meet through church, etc.

Now stay safe Melissa. Be careful... no more boo boos!!! hee hee. Hope you had fun in your pool!

We (the cubs and I) have been enjoying our friend's pool... we'll the cubs are enjoying her pool... I have been helping her decorate her home. It's going on a year she's been there and still no pictures up on the walls. He parents are coming to visit for the 4th, and last time her Mom was here, she complained about how she hadn't decorated. I couldn't let that happen again, so we put pictures up and helped her plan was to decorate! It's looking nice and she's excited! Her Mom can be a *itch at times, so I'm happy she'll be all prepared.

Today I have been "playing with my camera". I found out how to take pictures and pull out one or three colors and the rest of the photo in black & white! It's been fun! Yesterday I went for my physical, all went well, and this morning I went for my blood work. It was much easier then Melissa's... sorry you had to wait.

Okay, I have to get back to the cubs... and try to post a QOTD... sorry ladies!

*Heavy Sigh* It's an easy fix, but will require a surgery. :( It's an odd form of trigger thumb and it has something to do with the ligaments at the base of the thumb. He'll go in and relieve the pressure there. Of course nothing is guaranteed but he's pretty sure that will work. I trust his judgement. The earliest will be in about 2 1/2 weeks. I chose the local anesthetic, but someone will still have to drive me home I guess. Hopefully Greg will be able to go but if not, Kelly said she would be glad to take me.

Melissa, Rena started into the venture when she found out it was good money, so my take is that it's strictly about money with her. It's no wonder the boys don't respect her enough to listen to her because actually heard her tell one of them to kiss her arse. What kind of a person talks to kids like that?? Granted, he is 17 but still that was so wrong. She did have to take some kind of training before she could do this but golly, do they teach a person to talk like that?? I don't think so.

I'm sorry to hear Miss Prissy scratched you up. I know she's sorry and didn't mean to do it. I'll bet she gives you hugs and kisses to make up for it. :)
You sure did a bang up job on your exercises today! Okay, I couldn't resist that. I hope you're feeling better now that you got some comforting exercises in. Love you! HUGS!

Oh Susi! Is Rena doing the fostering just for the money or to "buy" her way into Heaven? Foster children come from so many terrible backgrounds that they really need to try and find strong, family oriented people that know how to provide structure and discipline.... People like Missy and Poppa Bear for instance!! I am happy she took some kids in, but learn how to handle them before unleashing them on your family, especially your elderly father! Let us know aobut yur MD appt. How sad for your neighbor. I get disability and I work, but the system is set up to keep you down if you are on disability. The only reason I still get it is because I need Medicare because of being a lifelong diabetic who is not employed full time I am uninsureable! I am fortunate to be blind as my disability because the National Federation of the Blind really rallied to get us more more money from disability and tax cuts as well. However, they really are militants and rather unpleasant at times. Yikes, and I do go on.... Anyhow, hoping for the best for you!

I look like a war victim. Sassy has scratched my arm and my leg and they are bad. She really needs a pedicure. Then, while doing my indoor walking today I hit my knee on the cover tothe furnace filter with all those luvers and have a nice abrasion. I also hit my toes on the Wall! I really am a danger to myself and others when I exercise!

OK, going to go hit the pool for some safer (I hope) exercise! Have a great day everyone! Let us know what the MD says Susi! Hoping real hard for an easy fix! And, you be careful out in that humidity with your lungs still rebuilding after that pneumonia!

Thanks Melissa! I'll need all the luck I can get! Oh yesterday was a day to beat all days. Someone is lucky I didn't beat them too! We worked on dad's basement again and of course Rena made several snide remarks to me about a few things. Then the 3 boys she's fostering were acting up. It was a day of total DRAMA! Kelly's cell phone came up missing. When it was found in a place she knew she didn't take it, it had porn on it. GRR! One of the older boys "borrowed" it and was looking at bad sights. The other older boy got mad and took off for a while and the younger one just wouldn't listen.

From the way I actually heard her talking to them, it's no wonder they don't have respect enough for her to listen to her. I've mentioned before she couldn't raise her own kids right so what makes her think she can do this? I really don't want them at dad's anymore when we're working but if they can't go then she can't either. It's a no win situation!

She tried to guilt me into doing some of the weekends for dad. I've told them both many times, I didn't go on weekends before unless I had to and I'm not starting now. Her guilt trip did NOT work on me! :)

You're not offending me at all, I never liked the way Obama is doing and I won't start now. He's spending money needlessly and not taking care of the people here that really need the help. A neighbor of my dad's has had his food stamp money reduced twice and he's on disability and can't work, he can see, but is considered legally blind, has heart problems and can't drive. I could go on and on, but I better get off my soap box before I offend someone. LOL!

Hopefully there will be an easy fix for my thumb but whatever it is, I'll have it done, easy or not. I can't keep going on with it this way.

HUGS!

Safe travels Twyndie!! Enjoy the visit.... With your parents, correct? Oh, I do understand about getting out of the AC once in awhile! Missy said her body temp runs high and mine actually runs low, so when I am in a very cold place I need to step out into the sunshine and summer!

Susi-- I'm afraid here lately Anthony does work 24/7 with him taking care of Dad's needs, my needs and then his parents' needs and then his actual job! I wish it was time for him to retire! I need him to win the lottery! HeeHee! Wishing you luck with your appointment tomorrow!

Missy-- The debt free plan is a smart foal! That sounds good. Can you play music on your phone? I'd have a hard time without music, but understand the difference between wants and needs as obviously you do! Yes, you always have precious cargo on board! I'm not a fan of last minute either!

Hi Dee! enjoy your summer! Take it one small goal at a time. that is how we are handling our home repairs and remodels.... One small project at a time until it is all done! Sure hope you can retire!

OK, I certainly do not want to offend anyone, but if you have to deal with any medical issues now since Obamacare has sort of kicked in.... Beware! I feel bad for all the office managers and doctors who have to deal with so much paperwork! I'm irritated with it all and I'm the one giving answers to their questions.I only had to have blood drawn today to check my thyroid levels and it took me over an hour at the blood clinic due to all the new paperwork! Augh!

I've been busy catching up with my students too, so that has kept me from SP! But, I'll check in as often as I can! OK, time for bed.....
