There's one in Deming at the Country Club that I am considering going to. I'm not a runner (yet) but they have the 5k run and a 2 mile walk as well as the kids run. It's hosted by Ultimate Fitness in Deming and their web page is ultimatefitnessnm.com which is where I found the information. It's only an hour from me and I can go and be back in plenty of time for family get together. There is a $10 registration fee for the walk and a $12 for the run. They are also asking for 2 cans of food or 2 cans of pet food. They are supporting a food drive and also the humane society in Deming. I'm going to take both because I love both people and animals.

Fleet Feet Sports on Menaul and Wyoming (Hoffmantown shopping center) is hosting the Turkey Trek on THanksgiving.

I highly suggest going to them. You can register at the store or on race day. The race is being held on Central in Nob Hill this year.

Not me! I don't run! Have never been able to see the appeal. Every other sibling in my family runs - 5Ks, 10Ks, half-marathons, full marathons, triathalons, uphill races - you name it, someone has tried it. That someone would not be me! emoticon I'm glad there is one that will work out for you! Have fun!

I googled Turkey Trot, looked at your Sparkpage and added Las Cruces. Here is what I found.

Las Cruces Turkey Trot — The Thanksgiving Day 5K run/fitness walk and 1-mile Kid’s Run is Thursday, Nov. 26. Hosted by Mesilla Valley Track Club. The one-mile kids run begins at 8 a.m. The 5K run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration begins at 7 a.m. Entry fees” $8 for 5K, $5 for 1-mile. Registration, other information: Don or Genia Shepan, (575) 524-7824.

After I posted, I noticed that El Paso is doing one too:
YMCA Turkey Trot — The 33rd annual Thanksgiving Day 5K run, 3K fun walk and 1500-yard swim benefiting the YMCA’s youth and teen programs begin at 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, at YMCA offices, 808 Montana. The Turkey Trot is the oldest road race in El Paso, and follows the Sun Bowl Parade Route. Race Day packet pickup is 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. at Metro YMCA, 808 Montana. Information: 584-9622
Registration: $25 through Nov. 20; $30 Nov. 21-25; $35 on race day.
Entry forms available at all YMCA branches or on active.com.
New this year is a Kids’ 1K Fun Run. Registration: $10.

Information on both was from this site:

There also appear to be turkey Trots in ABQ and Rio Rancho - I didn't look anywhere else! www.epscene.com/epssport.html Looks pretty handy for the Las Cruces/El Paso area.
