Thanks you guys xo I think they might chat. I do not really check in there to much. I post and do what I need to and there is not pressure, That is why I like the team. I am more Chatty with another group where I try to comment on blogs and give support. The 5% thing keeps me on track.

Silver, I'm so very sorry to learn about the loss of your son. I'm sorry about the loss of your dog, too, but especially about your son. You're just not supposed to outlive your kids and I can see why July has not been a very good month for you. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Silver, I am so sorry to hear about your son and your dog. Do what you need to do for you. Frankly, as long as I'm not on the team that shall remain nameless, I'll probably be happy with it. I've considered Casual Travelers - are they chatty?

I am in the 5% challenge too I have been with the casual travelers. Every body there seems honest. Not sure what team I am on yet. I really need to get my act together. It has been a long month I lost my son on the first and we lost a dog on the 15. I swear next year I am skipping July.Glad to see we are all still chatting here. I will probably be on and off. My daughter is pretty upset so I spend a lot of time with her on the phone.

Oh, that is so true! The constant must come in first was really annoying! Also the must blog stuff. I just couldn't do that - I am talky - as you can tell, I do post, but I am looking forward to a different team - I hope Firecrackers, but we will see!

I had someone like that when I was a Care Bear, before they did away with that team. She was constantly bugging us with emails to post more points so we could come in first and it got very annoying. I like the Shooting Stars because we are competitive, but not fanatical. The hard part is getting everyone to participate. Even if you are just beginning and can only do 10 minutes a day, it helps the team over all. I just don't like the blogging and feedback LTGL challenge because I never know what to say for my own post or to someone else's post.

Anyway, enjoy the challenge and thanks for spreading the word.

Julie, that sounds a lot like my dogs. They get on top of me - on the pillows if it is a particularly loud crack of thunder! I kind of fell off the wagon in my last 5% - and have been eating like it doesn't matter. I really was surprised by the difference a different team made. We had someone who, with the best of intentions, managed to punch several of my irritation buttons, which then, quite like a 4 yr old, made me less likely to want to help the team. Childish, but what can I say!

I have been a member of the Shooting Stars in the 5% challenge for a while now. I lost my 5% challenge before last just to gain it back during the break. I like the accountability the challenge gives.

I liked the rain we got last night, but the thunder scares my dog and causes her to get in my face and lick me to death. No sleeping through that and I don't have the heart to kick her out of the room. She has always slept with us.

I'll take that. Probably doubles our total rainfall for the year.

There was 1/2 inch in it this morning. I had a drop on Friday or Saturday - not sure which and had emptied that out. I didn't get it until whatever day it was last week, so I haven't had it long.

I used to live up near Central and Tramway. 4 inches of rain would have been okay up there because we were uphill from the entire city. My late husband used to say if you piss in the heights it floods downtown. emoticon We used to get some pretty good rain storms back in those days and it would indeed flood downtown and in Rio Rancho. Don't know if it would flood where I live now. I wish I had a place around my apartment where I could put a rain gauge...but it would probably be empty almost all of the time anyway. How much did you get in yours yesterday?

There was much rejoicing!

Wasn't it nice? I got one of the free rain gauges the city was giving out last week. I don't know if any are still available (you can pick up at their offices or call them to find out) It measures up to 4 inches. Much as I love rain, 4 inches at once would be a bit much!

I don't know how much rain we got in my part of town, but it sure was nice to sleep to. Only a little bit of thunder after the rain started. I'll take any little bit of rain we can get since we've had so little in the last few years.

There was much rejoicing!

Thanks Val! I got 1/2 inch in my backyard rain gauge. Our dogs barked a bit at some of the thunder, but otherwise all was well. I am hoping for more of that lovely rain tonight. It does feel a bit muggy here, but given that it isn't all that hot, I'm also fine with it!

Hey Joann, making a link on Sparks is easy. Just click at the top of the message box where it says "add link" and type the address you want to turn into a link in the box that opens up. It doesn't always look like a link when you post the message, but it will work as a link. Try it next time and see if it works for you.

We had a really good rain storm here in ABQ around 7:00 last night. emoticon First we had thunder that really freaked my cats pit for about half an hour and then the rain just came pouring down. I was a bit concerned because I left my car windows open a little bit (as usual) but the rain was coming straight down so I didn't have to run out in it to shut my windows. I don't know what the humidity level is today but the high temp is only supposed to be about 76 degrees. Hooray! I an live with that, even if it is still humid.

There was much rejoicing!

I've done several. I skipped one, ended up on a different team, and can report that different teams have different personalities. Eek! However, this is a fun challenge if anyone is interested. (an no, I have no idea how to make the link html. Sorry. Cut and paste!)
