Oh my. Yesterday I did a 3 mile walk DVD by Leslie Sansone and used the walking belt that came with it to use for toning the muscles. Then I did a 30 min. firm session using 3 lb. weights. Boy, my arms are sore today from using that belt. I thought my arms were strong, but I guess I was wrong.

30 minutes every morning I do extension band stretches by Tony Little called Easy Shaper.
I usually get 30 - 60 minutes of walking in 4 times a week. With spring arriving soon I hope, will be shifting my exercise time to my garden plot in the community volunteer garden.

Joining the Leslie Sansone challenge for March. Hope I can complete the month. I do a check-off each day when I'm done. I need to purchase some heavier weights. I only have a set of 1# and a set of 5#. Nothing in between.

I tried the Beginner Senior Pilates with Sunshine on YouTube this morning and it didn't go so great. I've had both of my hips replaced about 7 years ago and I'm not very limber to do some of those moves and to do them slowly. I sure learned that my muscles are not very strong. I need to do more squats I think. I still love the Leslie Sansone walking dvds. Those I can do!

I received Leslie Sansone's Walk to the Hits last week and gave it a try this morning. Oh my goodness! What a fantastic and FUN workout. The music and the people are inspiring. Before I knew it, I had done the entire 3 miles and we were in the cool down mode. I certainly will do that one again. There were a few moves I had difficulty with, but I know I will eventually get the beat and rhythm. I would recommend giving this one a try. It was fun and really made me smile.

Hi I started Pilates. I also have bad knees but with Pilates there is not stress on the joints. I didn't think that it would help but I am more flexible now. There is a 30 minute video on YouTube called "Beginner Senior Pilates with Sunshine", it's great. I also do stand-up Pilates with weights.

Tip to reduce weight: First turn your head to the right and then turn it to the left. Repeat this exercise every time you are offered something to eat.

I ride my stationary bike. I use to run and also walk, but my knees hurt, does anyone have any ideas so I can get back to at least walking?

I really like doing the Leslie Sansone Walk At Home DVDs but was wondering what other exercise 60+ year olds like to do. Walking is my best form of exercise at this point.
