WOW! MOIRA2 - How lucky you were to receive the Beatles photo's and magazines published only in the UK indeed! If you still had them today they would be worth a pretty price but then again who would want to sell them???

From the age of 10, I listened to all my sister's, Elvis 78 records later the 45's and 33 lp's.
Been to many a Elvis impersonator live shows. Loved the Beatles and Elvis in my teens and later switched to country music singers.

Did you see the Ed Sullivan Show featuring Elvis and then the Beatles? I remember the shows like it was yesterday, well so to speak it really was many yesterdays ago!

I watched The Ed Sullivan show as well and was glued to the TV. To this day, I am still in love with Paul! emoticon

I saw The Beatles at Olympia Stadium in Detroit, 1964. We were in the nosebleed seats and all that could be heard was screaming! The guys looked like they were 3 inches tall but it was the thrill of my life up till then! emoticon

My pen pal in England (We still write to each other!) sent me magazines and photos of The Beatles that were not published here. She is a good friend: Ev was a Rolling Stones fan! emoticon

1966 or 1967 - Saw the Beatles Live In Vancouver, B.C. ca a boyfriend of the time treated me to their concert.
1960 - Was my first music event starring Roy Orbison
1958 My older sister, saw Elvis concert, in Vancouver it was only a one time show.
Her best friend fainted when Elvis came on the stage and missed the whole performance!
I wanted to go but my parents said I was too young……rats!

When I saw them, I was at my Grandparents. Oh I fell in love with George. My Sister loved Paul.

My best friend and I watched the Ed Sullivan show that night too. We were screaming and crying! They were the best! My brother bought me I Want to Hold Your Hand just a couple weeks later....I wore that record out!!! My Aunt in Ireland sent me all their magazines (they were called FAB) and newspaper articles with anything about the Beatles and I would take them to school and use them for show and tell, and current events and everything. I had quite a collection, but lost it all when our house burned down.

We all watched the Ed Sullivan Show that night and fell in love with the Beatles the minute we first saw and heard them. The day after that, my father came home with a new 45 of "I Want to Hold Your Hand," just for me! That was big, considering he'd called them "mop heads" the night before.

What is the first Beatles song you bought, sang, or just called your favorite?
