Saturday my spare refrigerator/freezer died. Also the ice maker in the fridge also died.
Had to wait till today to call a repairman. Cost to fix $600.00. I bought it 13 years ago then I bought a condo a year later. They charged $68.00 to come out and look at the appliance. The repair person will take it away at a cost of $80.00. or they'll fix it for $600.00 + taxes.

My family has shrunk and really don't need two fridge/freezers! I really only wanted it because of the ice cold filtered water and ice cubes that drop out at a push on a button.

I did a price search of new refrigerators on line. They range from 2,000.00 - 7,000.00 plus taxes. Is that insane or what? The fridges around the $2,000.00 range does not even come with a built in ice cube maker. Oh, well back to the old bag of ice from the grocery store, will have to do. Had to throw out all the thawed food.

More woes! The transition wood, that finished off the wood flooring for the tile entrance has been lifting. Decided to rip that off today and work at setting it down with new glue.

This time I bought a Lepage's glue that water can not penetrate. How to get such glue off a transition wooden piece. Soak transition wood trim, ( the under side) with nail polish remover that has no acetate. I was amazed how well it worked! It takes a a good part of an afternoon as one has to scrape the old glue off in sections, then re-apply several coats of nail polish remover. Till the old glue lifts and comes off completely.

Thank-you for the welcome back!

Well not all is back to normal. My wee TV that is 3 decades old, is all I got to watch. I got it up and running. Don't ask how I managed that feat! Sheer luck! Have it in my spare bedroom.

My larger 35 inch screen TV in my living room, is still not working. The remote control needs replacing but when I went to pick up the pre-ordered remote, I was told they are waiting for a shipment, the service provider is expecting to receive a shipment in a week or two. Since my large TV is 25 years old, I think I should just buy a new TV.

There is a recycled electronics depot in my city, where you can drop off old electronic stuff to be recycled. One wee problem, the darn TV is too big to fit in my car or even in a borrowed truck. .

Since I live about 6 blocks to the recycle depot my daughter suggested, I push the big TV down to the recycle place. Can you imagine me pushing a big old TV down 6 city blocks, then getting stuck on curb, since the TV is too heavy to lift. Maybe I should hire a moving van. emoticon

Firstly would have loved to say I was in the UK or Europe travelling but the truth is……..
I have been absent due to various life obstacles. Mainly caused my own ignorance of learning a new computer. I switched to an Apple from a Microsoft. First it was such a daunting task but now I realize the Apple laptop is a breeze, once you throw out all knowledge of Microsoft and concentrate on the way the Apple operates.

In the process a friend in my building was giving away a new desk for free. How can one refuse free? Well then I got a hair brain idea to switch my rooms around.

I unplugged everything….In yesterday years, I had no problem remembering which plug went here or there. I forgot to label the unplugged cords, as I was unplugging everything. This knocked out my computers, televisions and phones, for many a days, till I got the service people to come out and hook everything back to normal.

No more fiddling with connections for me!
