Tonight, I focus on just a few of the many things I am grateful for:

-A very easy and laid back Sunday
-Homemade goodies from a friend, but not in huge quantity, which was great
-Reading, and the many choices available to us
-Bean soup, just not getting tired of it 'cause it's so great
-The art of good communication
-My warm and comfy home

Goodnight all ...

Sandra thanks for the (inclusion) with the group!!! Michelle send me some of your saying no, mojo. I am terrible doing that, except with myself. Maha, hope you and the sisters got to see an Eagle- how cool is that!

Today I am thankful for:

*reading that wombat is a human! I was very concerned- though trying to stay hip and open- that Fractyl had crossed a rather strange line with an animal. Whew! ps. cute name for a 4 year old.
*e-mailing my teacher. He had e-mailed me and I was in such a crisis mode all week, I hadn't gotten back to him. I decided to put it #1 on my to-do list today.
*catching up with my accountibility buddy. I put her #2, because I have been doing a lousy job of posting daily. I am doing well with my goals, but have to step it up and do my posting I committed to.
*the interesting stories on the history channel yesterday, which I had on to keep me awake at the office yesterday. One was on the trip in the bible when Jesus and his disciples went onto the sea, and ran into a terrible storm.... It was fascinating how the commentator tracked down references and archaeology. The second was on the tremendous impact the eruption of Vesuvius had on the Christian religon taking hold and really taking off. I had some courses in the early church in college, but had never heard of this influence.
*having a great health food grocery store to go to to get great organic products.
*seeing a bunch of my Buddha buddies at the restaurant part of the grocery store.
*getting my butt up and taking a walk with my wife today. My joints don't allow for much speed, but I did get in 30 minutes and got some good sun.

take care, bob ps. hope the Stealerzzzz keep doing well Trace. Weather looks ruff, but they are up in the 3rd!

Paradoxically, we achieve true wholeness only by embracing our fragility and sometimes, our brokenness. Wholeness is a natural radiance of Love, and Love demands that we allow the destruction of our old self for the sake of the new.

Grateful for:
- a lazy day
- clearing over 30,000 messages from my inbox!!! (and unsubscribing from a whole pile of newsletters I no longer read
- folding and putting away ALL the clean clothes - at last!
- toymaking ideas :D now to get to work on a santa for Munchkin (who clutched a chocolate santa for 3 hours yesterday saying "I really love you, little Santa friend") and a mermaid for Wombat (who has been keeping me busy drawing mermaids all morning so he can colour them in!)

Though no-one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Good late Friday night, all...

Grateful tonight
* That I seem to have bounced almost back from a sudden onset of cold/flu symptoms...amazing what 12 hours of sleep can do!
* That my hubby's face has no stress lines today...and he says it is because he is finally retired.
* For rain, rain, rain...requiring release of water from our lake (which was in severe drought stages the past few years.
* For having done NO Christmas shopping and not feeling stressed about it at all.
* For having my family of origin still intact with my son, all my aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, and grandkids healthy
* For clean sheets ALMOST on the bed (they are in the dryer.)
* Which brings me to inside washer and dryer once again (after using laundromat for FIVE years!)

Lol Bob - Wombat is my 4 year old. I share a family bed with him and his 2 year old brother. My very sensible husband has his own room. Friday night is date night. After I've stayed up until 4am being friendly with hubby, I tend to get distracted by the computer instead of going to bed...

Yay you for the end of a bad hair day :P

Still trying to figure out the "Wombat waking up at 4am and demanding I go to bed with him". Oh well, Fractal, I hope you and your Wombat are happy! Steph, kudos amundo!!! for you and your sweetie doing what many of us say we want to do, but don't- help someone else out at Christmas. Taz glad your'e feeling better.

Today I am grateful for:

*a good hair day! OMG one more day in a toboggin and I'd have gone crazy. Back in my Fedora and looking like a young Harrison Ford, now that I am shaved the resemblance is uncanny. (Usually don't repeat my status post, but hated the bad hair. Hated it!!!)
*covering the payroll and evil bad bills. Now if I can get myself to do something good for myself and send more out before the next crisis, we'll have something new.
*the tellers at the bank. I yuck them up and kid them- I know your stunned- and when I get the payroll in late to post, they still cover it, so my employees can cash their checks. Thanks Marcie, Millie-love the new dew, Dianne, Angela, Melanie, etc.
*the ice not damaging many of my properties. I was worried about the kids (my plants). A tree at my house broke and I had extrapolated that to all the jobs.
*to a short thankful line written by me. (this is it)

take care, bob

Been a while folks :D I keep forgetting to drop in here which is silly because it's where many of my favourite people hang out! This is a wagon I definitely need to jump back on :)

Today, I am grateful for...
- the boys sleeping in;
- the ache between my shoulder blades which is telling me to stop computing and move my body;
- an evening spent sewing and how GREAT the dinosaur playworld/mat I am making is turning out... had so much fun sewing the sea;
- Wombat waking up at 4am and demanding I go to bed with him, so I got 3 hours sleep when I was expecting none...
and
- it's not raining...

Though no-one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Grateful for: starting back to exercising regularly. Such a mood booster!

Grateful for: the opportunity to go see Christmas decorations at a local house, very historical and very beautiful. Haven't gone yet, but am grateful for the chance to look forward to something that will be good to do.

Grateful for: the chance to have my time to myself. Being laid off isn't fun, but not getting up for work every day (and dreading it) is a very good thing indeed.

Grateful for: Rosy, who is delightful, and more fun every day.

Grateful for the family and friends support that I have.

Tonight on this cold (but moistureless, so I won't complain) evening, just a few mentions of all that I have to be grateful for:

-A wonderful lunch with my sweetie after we delivered our packages for the single mom and her 4-year-old girl that we adopted this year (and shopped for together, a real treat)
-Being able to do that kind of work together - it doesn't happen often as I'm usually doing it with work people or something so physical that she can't join me
-The amazing bean soup that was simmering and smelling so delightful when I came home (to go with the carrot soup made last night with our ABUNDANCE of carrots!!!)
-FINALLY starting to feel normal again physically after all of the medical ordeals of the past 40 days!
-Looking forward to an upper body strength training sessions tomorrow
-Our joint decision for a VERY low key Christmas (no dinner guests (brought on by how much we enjoyed eating Thanksgiving dinner in bed while watching movies due to being sick and having to cancel Thanksgiving and Maha & Sandra's visit - hey, at least we were able to make something good of a bad deal
-R&R, much needed and I'm takin' it

Goodnight all ...

Stephanie

Babyface26, you are most welcome, and "speak the words of wisdom, let it be." Trace the universe better have more for you, because I am in the boat with you sister and in need!

Today I am thankful for:

*my driver door not being frozen shut this morning! All week I have had to crawl over from the passenger side. Is that an emergency break, or are you just happy to see me! Hello!! Funniest Videos on line 3!
*no one calling me out for worrying about my raps punctuation. I guess that wasn't very gangsta'
*my father giving me his work ethic. Even when stressed and down, I always keep working hard.
*my iPhone, hey have you heard I have one- ok is there anyone who hasn't heard? It allows me to check on this group at home, and to write this in bed after a hard day.
*for the 3rd or 4th time, deepest thanks to 'Anthony and The Johnsons' for there music, especially on dark days.
take care, bob

Thank you, Bob for mentioning me, and giving me encouragement. It means a lot. Surprised at how much
I feel inspired, from reading my last post here!
Now, today's gratitudes -
- I feel more emotionally centered than yesterday (so far, so good)
- I am grateful that I spoke my truth to tenant board president yesterday, and am learning to "Let it Be".
Still a ways to go, that's for sure.
- I am grateful that I finally spoke with brother this week, and he is doing better.
- I am grateful for all the amazing people who post on this thread.
- Sunshine today (when rain was forecast) YAY!
- I am grateful that I'll be singing at Tenant board Holiday party, which will be the first time I do this and Yes, it's scary!

Sorry to be so sporadically thankful, San... I'm here reading you all alla time... I'm just trying to get my grateful back and I don't like to post unless I'm feeling it... or really needing to hoover up some of yinz energy... I try not to take more than I need because that would be hoggish and I think the Universe doesn't like that too much...

I say dogpile on Taz!!!

Hugs for her and everyone else who needs 'em!!!

Good morning! As I continue to wrestle with my online time, posting of gratitudes is not an issue~~

~ the extraordinary variety of amazing people who gather together on SparkPeople.com

~ 2 slices of Genesis toast with peanut butter and jelly, a very worthwhile use of 300 calories

~ starting to feel the powerful effects of using the nutrition tracker, e.g., do I REALLY like the Horizon LF eggnog in my coffee enough to give away 140 calories for 1/2 cup and was it REALLY necessary to have 2 oz. of feta last night (120 calories) or would 1 oz. sufficed?

~ looking forward to yoga tonight, a class I haven't attended recently, but always enjoyed

~ Velma Frye's Seven Sacred Pauses CDs arrived that I want to share with friends

Blessed be!

Thankful today for the natural balances in life. The yin and the yang. The heaven and hell....and so on. It has been that kind of season.
* Yesterday, cold to the bone dense fog and wind while standing on a hillside, as my dear friend was laid to rest. Somber and sad.
* Today, sunshine, warm weather and laughter as my husband was celebrated at a huge luncheon. Tomorrow he is retiring.
* Depressed at the thought that I have to keep working while he lives the life of leisure...offset by the news that I can now retire in April instead of waiting until June!
* Foot injury offset by the knowledge I did it by walking a 5K in 55 minutes. (and it is healing nicely)
* Weight loss continues.
* Love surrounds me.

Yes, balance...everywhere.
