Good Monday Morning Everyone .... I hope you all had a great weekend. Getting ready to go to the beach for the rest of the week for our Anniversary! I have planned and packed everything to stay on track ... I am down another 6 pounds. watching the cabs, drinking my water and eating my proteins are helping. I plan on tracking while we are gone. That is if we have a net connection out there ... staying in Hatters at the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Small steps, but everyday!

If no complications arise after surgery, you will have a great time. Always keep a water bottle in your hand and plan a small rest in the early afternoon as to not stress your body out too much.

Everyone is different. I went back to work in 2 weeks, but I have a desk job and found out very quickly that I went back to full days too soon. I had generalized weakness for 6 months afterwards - but only for the first couple of hours in the mornings. I would be dizzy and very weak. The doctor decided that I would become dehydrated through the night and it was taking a couple hours in the morning to re-hydrate.

You will need to take plenty of protein powder, and a way to mix it, because it's absolutely imperative that you get enough protein. You won't be able to eat enough food to get enough protein.

Also, you won't be able to eat very much at all and it will be somewhat difficult to eat at restaurant. No left overs to eat later when on vacation. The macadamia nuts are awesome and have protein, and there's an abundance of those available! Find out from your doctor what foods you will be allowed that early out. You may still be on soft foods.

I don't want to discourage you, just prepare you for what to expect. We went to Hawaii last November and it was wonderful! Enjoy!

For those who have been sleeved and have lost a significant amount of there weight.... did you get the question "how much weight have you lost"??? Did you tell people??

I have been getting that questions a lot lately and, not that it bothers me, but I also choose not to answer it. I guess I have really made an effort to "downplay" the weight loss.... which goes against the current trends to make our private life an open book..... I have friends who post everyday on facebook what they did for a workout, how much weight they have lost, how many weight watchers points they have had that day etc.... that on top of all of the weight loss commercials and products and articles that are thrown in our faces everyday!! It's like that's the only thing that anyone is ever thinking about!!

Obviously since, I had surgery and have put a lot of effort at losing weight this last year, it is something that was important to me or that I felt that I needed to do for my health among other reasons.... but I guess I also thinkit was a personal decision, something that was about me and I don't feel like I have to share that with the entire world if I don't want to!

Sorry I will get off my soap box now.... just wandered what others experience with this was like!

You all are great, your opinions help me feel a whole lot better.

Other surgeries I've had I have handled just fine. When I had my gallbladder out I took a 4 mile walk two days after surgery because I was bored. When my appendix ruptured it took me a little longer to get better. The first week I was in the hospital, followed by a week home but then I was doing fine. Of course I was younger and probably in better shape but just as heavy.

For the sleeve I am planning on a week off and a second week of half days if needed. With a vacation planned so soon after I am hesitant to ask for more then that. I sit at a desk all day so I think a can handle it.

Thanks for your help and encouraging words! I feel more excited for my surgery and Hawaii!

I'm another one who felt great after my surgery and luckily didn't have any complications or issues. I went back to work 1 week after my surgery.... At 2 weeks out, my doctor had cleared me for all normal activity.

I would say, that you will need to just be careful with food and make sure you are staying hydrated. I know at that point I relied alot on these little "to go" packets of protein, they were easy to take with me and they mixed in water easily.... (Designer Whey Protein 2Go, I bought them on Amazon).

Good Luck!!

I felt ok after a week but took about 10 or 12 days to feel good - and a while longer with the food. You will still have to be careful with your food (what you eat) Definately follow doctor and nutritionist orders - protein first and get plenty of water.
Everyone is different but I just passed my month mark and I would have loved to have gone to Hawaii. Have a great trip - relax and enjoy - it may be the best medicine!

Loverbutt,

I went back to work two weeks after surgery and was bored the second week I was home. Everyone is different so I can only tell you that I felt fine even the first week out. I got tired but I wasn't in pain or anything. Just make sure you keep drinking and getting in the protein.

Hi and welcome to our group!

I pulled out of my driveway in Texas, towing a 33 ft travel trailer exactly two weeks after my surgery. We took about four days getting to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. and spent the next two months there. The trip was probably a little harder on my body than a plane ride to Hawaii. You'll spent quite a few hours on a plane, but I-10 is bumpy and rough most of the way between Texas and Florida.

Anyway, once there I did fine. I was more tired than I expected and had to pick and choose between activities. I just couldn't keep up with the rest of the crowd at first and sometimes had to go rest while everyone else kept to our schedule. By the time we came home, though, I was doing great.

That said, the most important thing to remember is that each of us is different. No two will have exactly the same experiences or reactions, especially to the surgery. Some people take quite a while to recover and get back to routine while others bounce back quickly. I've seen some take 6 weeks off work and others go back after 10 days. There simply is no formula to help you know exactly what to expect and no way to predict exactly how you'll feel.

About the only thing you can do is consider how you have done after other surgeries (if you've had any) and how active, healthy, etc. you are now.

Very important info:
Listen to your surgeon and follow his recommendations!
Listen to your body and don't push yourself!
Stay hydrated!

My guess is, barring any complications, a month to recover should be plenty. Plan on having a great time in Hawaii and prepare for the big surprise that, probably for the first time in a very long time, it WON"T be all about the food! Woo Hoo!

Blessings,
Linda

How long after your sleeve did it take you to feel "good"?

I have my final appointment with my dr before my sleeve gets scheduled next week. We are going to Hawaii in December. If I have the surgery a month before we leave am I going to be sick to enjoy myself?

At my last appointment the dr didn't think it would be a problem but I want to hear it from someone who lived it. Thanks!

Hey Everyone,

Yes amen it really works. I'm back on track too. Getting enough protein and water will keep you full. I'm back to drinking the Atkins drinks, and a smoothie a few times a week.

I'm glad we are doing well. Y'all all take care.

How is everyone? I'm at work and figured I would stop in and check on things. It's funny because I haven't been losing so I stopped stepping on the scale. I hopped on the scale this morning and wow! 10lbs gone I'm now 313 down from 448. So of course all the healthy stuff I'm suppose to stay on top of popped into my head. So I wanted to say PROTEIN works! WATER works. I had been slacking on the two - BADLY. I had basically stopped drinking and monitoring my protein intake. The past two weeks I've been on point and wow! So I'm back on the wagon!!

So Don't stop ever stop your protein and water intake. It really works.

Positive Healthy Awesome and Thick is what I want to be!

I CAN DO THIS! I CAN MAKE THAT CHANGE!

Cassie - I try very hard to keep the scale in perspective.... especially, because of my best friend who suffers from an Eating Disorder and I have learned a lot from walking with her through that battle.... the number on the scale is just a number, it doesn't guarantee happiness or healthiness!

Hey Everyone,

It's good to see everyone doing well.

Hink you are so right about the pounds not being the only way to achieve victory. I try to have at least one NSV(non scale victory) a week. Sometimes it's hard to do when you want the pounds to drop off and they don't but other things are working out.

For me, usually when the scale wasn't moving I was losing inches, and that still applies. I love to get into smaller clothes for any reason!!!!

Linda, yay on not having jury duty. It's just so boring to sit there all day. I don't have to go for 2 years since I served on a criminal cold case last year. He was a serial rapist. It was hard to listen to the evidence, but seeing those ladies and hearing how they suffered and the fear they lived with was enough for us to convict him. His DNA being everywhere made it easier too because you knew it was him. I don't want to have to go through it again but I'm glad he's in jail.

I haven't been up to par for about a week but I'm doing better. I have started eating healthier, and plan on losing a few pounds by my birthday. I will let y'all know how it goes.

Everyone have a good day!!!

Hey everyone - HAPPY MONDAY!!

Well - I had a good weekend.... we had a dinner event for my DH for his work Saturday night and it was a nice evening..... I felt great in my outfit, new shirt, new pants, new shoes :-) and I enjoyed the dinner offerings without overdoing it!

I just finished my lunch time workout.... one more week till my 6 month check up with my surgeon.... I really am pleased with my progress, and I am feeling great, there are a lot of accomplishments besides the scale to be happy about! Not feeling real pleased about my current general practitioner (at least not the office staff)..... I think I will be biting the bullet and making a change....

Well everyone have a fabulous day!!

Everyone is doing great and I feel so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful group!

We're going to have a another busy week and I was supposed to be on jury duty today, but was pleased to find out, when I called last night, that the trial was cancelled. That gave me an extra day this week to take care of my business and I hope it means someone else managed to work a deal that was beneficial to everyone involved (including the citizens of the great state of Texas!) It was a criminal trial so chances are good some bad guy is getting off with fewer consequences than he should, but hey, I can always be positive!

Blessings,
Linda

Oh, I wish it was a quiet Sunday. Moving the parents to a new house from their home of the last 37 years! This is unexpected and nerve wracking. Long hours, minimal fluid and food, too busy to remember that these things are necessary. Also did I mention hot humid Florida weather. Okay enough of my b..ching. One more week and it will be over.
Hope your weekends were calm and peaceful.
Good night:)

Sheryl - running 6 miles at the beach with friends .... :-) ENJOY! I'm with Cassie, running 6 miles stills feels like so much, for me 4 miles is a long run, but hey you are right, 2 miles, 3 miles whatever it is.... when I finish I feel great because I know I have done something good for my body!

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!!

Hey Everyone,

Sheryl, I still think 6 miles is a long way to run. I don't walk that far. I'm working up to 3k again. After breaking my foot last November it has taken me a while to get back in the groove, but I'm still trying.

Hink, I know how you feel. Exercise is not my strongest point either. I do because I have too as well, but as long as you are doing that's all that matters.

I hope y'all all have a good weekend.

Hink, you can do it! Just think of how much better you will feel afterwards. The best feeling ever!

Hope everyone has a great Friday and a beautiful weekend ahead. I will be running at the Santa Monica beach tomorrow morning, just a 6-miler. haha I can remember when I thought 6 miles seemed crazy! Now it seems easy to me. Never thought I would EVER say that. I just need to get out there and do it and then I always feel better after. We are celebrating a friend's birthday afterwards, so cupcakes, sangria and snacks will be avail after. One of the girls was nice enough to get me a sugar free cupcake (hmm, not so sure about that, but I guess it's a better choice). I will probably bring my own snacks/drinks for after.

Have a great day everyone! emoticon

woohoo - way to go Leslie!! You are cruising right along!!

Well - after all this talk about protein shakes, I went to Sam's to buy my shakes and find out that they changed the formula and it tastes different :-( I was not real happy about that!! I liked the original better than the new formula!!!!! But I will still drink them, because I too am usually running out the door in the morning and don't have time for anything else!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies - congrats on the 160's great job.

protein shakes I am pretty tired of but it sure gives me that boost in the morning I need - I'm always in a hurry out the door and don't have time for a nutricious breakfast - going to try some of the other brands you guys have recommended and see if that makes a difference. I am not having a hard time getting in enough protein - considering I'm still in that stage of NO carbs - so I am pretty much eating meat, cheese, eggs and yogurt.
Getting there.

Have a great day Ladies!

Good Morning Everyone,

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!

I am in the 160s...I weighed in at 169.6 this morning!!!

I also was able to jog for over 1 mile straight yesterday...I actually jogged the majority of my 3.2 miles.

It feels so great.

Wishing everyone a great day.

I try to have a protein shake every morning for breakfast. I am now adding a couple handfuls of spinach and kale into the blender to make it green. You can't even taste it and it's a great way to get in your greens. I have also started adding a heaping teaspoon of flax meal for added fiber.(I wouldn't recommend the flax for newbies though with new tummies)

Have a great day everyone!

Hey Everyone,

Wanda, I try to have a protein drink at least 3 times a week. I really try for everyday but...only make it about 3 times consistently. It's hard to get enough protein in, and I was losing muscle so I'm trying to do better with it.

I hope y'all all have a GREAT day!!!!

Got my water aerobics done last night. It was a really good workout. Was going to walk with a friend tonight, but after eating some watermelon, I started having stomach cramps. I eat watermelon almost daily, but I don't know what else would have caused the cramps. Back to the pool tomorrow after work. Then not sure how much exercise I'll get over the weekend. But I'm sure the hotel we will be staying will have a pool, so I'm going prepared.

I don't do protein shakes anymore, but sometimes wonder if I should and if it would make a difference in my exercise routine....like am I eating enough protein to burn fat and not muscle with all the exercise. Maybe I should start drinking one daily. "talking out loud and convincing myself".

What do the rest of you "maintainers"do?

Just thought I'd drop by and let everyone know that DH's PET scan came out great. They called yesterday to say cancer remains in remission. We will now use this scan as a baseline as we move forward.

Just glad I could share some good cancer news for a change.

Cassie - I buy the EAS Advantage shakes, they are the low Carb ones..... 17 grams of protein and like 110 calories. I get them in Chocolate. They are the ones that I like the best!

Hey Everyone,

Hink, so sorry about your friend. My friend has stage 1 but a triple negative something that makes it really aggressive. So they are treating it with chemo and radiation. She is already frail and has many health issues. She is in stage 4 kidney disease/failure so I'm really concerned for her. Some times all you can do is pray and have faith. It's just so hard.

What kind of protein drinks do you buy at SAMs? Do you like them? I buy Atkins. I like the coffee/caramel flavored the best. I'm a chocoholic so I find anyway I can to get chocolate into my diet without going to extremes.

I hope everyone has a Great day!!! I will chat again later. I have to get ready for p/t that's physical therapy for future reference since I will be going another few weeks.

Speaking of acronyms does anyone know what LINH DINH means in a text message? I recd a message from someone I didn't know so didn't respond. That was the message with a ? Behind it. I thought it was all very strange.

Cassie - she was diagnosed about 4 years ago at 32 with stage 3 breast cancer, she did probably every type of treatment she probably could! She was a fighter and fought with the BEST attitude you could imagine.... her motto was "kickin' cancers a**" but unfortunately, it didn't work out that way.... the cancer spread to her bones and then liver :-(

I did not have a good day with my protein, probably the least amount of protein I have had in quite some time! I need to get to Sams tomorrow and get my protein shakes, I ran out!

Hey Everyone,

Hink, I'm so sorry for your loss!!! Did she have some type of factor or chemo didn't work? It's hard to think about people dying from cancer when the medical field has made so many helpful discoveries. My dear friend recently found out she has breast cancer. She has so many things working against her, we are worried she won't make it through the lumpectomy. Definitely don't think she will make it through chemo. Running in your friends honor is a wonderful thing to do!!!

Wanda, congrats on swapping clothes with your daughter!!! WooHoo!!!!!😃😃😃

Y'all all take care, and I will chat again later.

Welcome Tina! emoticon You have found a great group! I read your intro, you are doing wonderful!!

Wanda, that's so amazing about your granddaughter! And to be able to share your clothes too with your daughter, that's awesome!

Hink, that's great you're doing another 5K for a nice cause. I'm sorry about your sorority sister. I just wish one day we would have a cure for all cancers.

My next race is a 5K called the Blacklight run. You wear a white shirt and they throw powder in the air and when they shine the blacklight on you, everyone glows! It should be fun! I have never done a night race.

Have a great day everyone! Back to my cleaning.... ugh, never ending story of my life! lol

Morning Everyone!

Welcome Tina - I can't remember if I said that yesterday or not!!

Wanda - :-) what a great feeling to be able to share clothes with your daughter!

I was talking with a friend yesterday and reflecting on how much things have changed in my life in the last year.... it's definitely had its ups and downs!! But I am really pleased with the progress I have made health wise this year, I am in such better shape physically and that is a great feeling!

Hope everyone has a great day! I'm off to sign up for another 5K (this one in honor of my sorority sister who passed away this summer at age 36 from breast cancer emoticon )

Thank you, Vivian!

Good morning, everyone!

I am stuck between sizes, myself, at least in pants. I wear a 4X JMS, which is too big, but the 3X is too small. Go figure...lol. I'll get into that 3X soon!

Getting ready to take a walk. Just checking in to say Hi to all and welcome to newbies.

I need to clean closets again just to get rid of some of the smaller stuff. Seems I have had a transfer addiction to shopping. lol I have a LOT of clothes and find that I don't wear some of them, and they are practically new. I actually gave a couple of things away to my granddaughters who wear the same size. Now THAT made me feel good! Last time I was at my daughter's I realized I forgot to pack some PJs so I raided her closet. I didn't think much about it until she said "Mom did you ever think that you could wear MY clothes?" I looked at her and smiled...and she was too! She actually gave me some clothes that she no longer wears.

Well my walking partner has arrived so off we go into the wild blue yonder......

I am looking forward to the day of give away. I have 3 or 4 sizes in there now and I can't wait for them all to be too BIG for me. That day is coming - and yes patience is the key.

Sounds like everyone had a good weekend - prayers to all who are having troubles.

Hey Everyone,

Tina, welcome to the team!!!

Sheryl, I will try to post pics this week. Waiting on DH to download from camera to computer. I guess that's something I should learn how to do for myself. His favorite thing to say is if something happened to him I couldn't even change the light bulbs in the ceiling. He's probably right but....I don't let it bother me.

Thanks for the compliments. We all look so good since losing weight!! I have never been a size 8, and I'm sure I never will. I'm happy with 12s and 14s, well maybe happy is too strong but y'all know what I mean.

Wanda, I'm so sorry about your parents declining health. It's hard to watch. I have already gone through it with my mom. My dad had a heart attack and passes away. My mom never got over his death. She started having health problems less than a year after he died. It was very hard to see.

Congrats to your granddaughter!!!! WooHoo!!!!! National and state champion tractor puller is fantastic!!! I'm sure it builds her confidence.

I'm assuming you are coming on I-10. I live near the Bluebonnet, Siegen Lane and Highland Rd exits. So it shouldn't be hard to meet up. Lowes is on Siegen and Home Depot is on Highland. The Mall of Louisiana is on Bluebonnet so your husband will have plenty to do while we visit. I'm looking forward to meeting you!!!!

I don't know how in the world we are old enough to retire. I can't figure it out😳😳😳!!!!

Y'all all have a GREAT day, and I will chat again later.

Hink you are doing so well that I am certain that you will reach your goal in good time. Thanks for your words of encouragement! The weekend was not kind to me- or should I say I was not kind to me. I was off schedule and routine all weekend, so now I need to get back on track.

I am trying to decide if I should continue with our gym membership OR make good use of our free clubhouse exercise room. I have learned so much at the gym and I can ride the bike here for free! What I don't know about myself is if I can make myself continue to exercise alone. Decisions, decisions!

Have a good week everyone.

Hey Everyone! - HAPPY MONDAY emoticon

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend! We enjoyed the beautiful fall weather here in Missouri!!

Jeni- congrats on getting rid of those big clothes!

I too had about 3-4 sizes in my closet, I was kind of shocked by how quickly none of those clothes fit me. I cleaned out about 3-4 bags worth of clothes a while back and it felt great! I have kept a few things that are nicer items that I didn't wear much, I am thinking of trying to find a place to donate that gives them to women looking for jobs who need clothes.... I would like to see them go to someone who could really use them!

I do plan to keep one or two pairs of jeans/pants just as a reminder to me of how far I have come!

Linda - saying prayers that DH's scan comes back negative and things continue to look good for him!!

This friday will be my 6 month surgiversary..... TIME FLIES!! And honestly, it's unreal to me that I am almost 3/4 of the way to my goal of losing 100 lbs! I am definitely going to have to dig deep to find the motivation to finish losing the last 30 lbs!

Anyway - hope everyone has a fabulous day and a GREAT week!!

Good girl, Tina, you found us!!!! Welcome aboard.

I've gotta run, DH has a PET scan this morning so I've got to get him moving. He's been fasting since midnight so maybe I'll take him out for a nice meal when he's done.

Blessings,

I sure wish there was a LIKE button on SP! So much good going on with all of you! Congratulations Cassie on your retirement. I have 3 more years and it's looking more and more appealing. When the heck did we get old enough to retire!?!??!

I plan to make every effort to meet you, Cassie. Even if we just meet at a McDonald's along the interstate, we can have some tea and chat for a few minutes. Maybe somewhere close to a hardware store, so my DH can have something to kill time while we visit.

We just got home from a weekend trip to Illinois to visit my parents. I always come away so sad that they are aging and I can see a steady decline in their health.

Next weekend my DH are heading to SD to watch our 4 year old granddaughter, Jett compete in the National Championship - get this - pedal tractor pull. lol She's a little city girl who does gymnastics, so she has strong muscular legs. They were here visiting over the 4th of July and a small town nearby was having a pedal pull. She wanted to join in the fun. Little did she know that placing 1st would qualify her for the state championship. She got 2nd at state, qualifying for Nationals. She's small, but mighty!

I continue to do water exercises twice a week. I have to drive 20 miles to the next town for the indoor pool, but my 16 year old granddaughter joins me and we work out together. She doesn't participate in sports, so to stay in shape, she likes to exercise. Sure wish I had that motivation at her age. I never would have gotten severely obese. I don't mind being seen in my swim suit, because I figure everyone is looking at her in her itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini. lol She's a doll.

I'll keep trying to check in a couple times a week. Keep up the good work everyone!

Wanda

Hi all,

Vivian, I was also a slow loser. I've come to the conclusion that you have to have a lot of patience in this whole process. The weight WILL come off in it's own time, don't worry. Just keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing everything right. Measurements are a great way to assess your progress and you've lost of ton of inches, congrats! emoticon

Hink, the couch to 5K program is a great way to start. You are doing great! I am also very slow at running, but that isn't stopping me. As long as I get to the finish line, whether it be walking, running, or.... crawling, I will get there! And congrats on the size 8, that's about where I am too. emoticon I hope your weekend has gotten better and the headache has vanished.

Cassie, so happy you had a nice retirement party! Wow, a Waterford crystal pitcher, how nice! Can't wait to see your pictures! I bet you looked beautiful! emoticon

Linda, hope you're having a good time on your camping trip, sounds like fun!

Welcome Kathy! emoticon

Jeni, that's the fun part, getting rid of all the big clothes. I did that too, I think I had about 5 huge garbage sacks full of clothes to donate. Congrats on your success!

Ok, got to get back to my cleaning. I didn't get much done yesterday even though I had good intentions. I started Netflix last night and watched a couple of movies and before I knew it the day got away from me. I got my run in this morning though which is a good thing.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Thanks for the feedback. It helps a lot.

I have gotten away from some of my really big thing, but a lot of my big clothes are getting baggy on me. I am now wearing the same clothes I was wearing 4-5 years ago (when I was still working). I am at the weight I carried for MANY years, so my body may think it has reached its "set point" now I need to teach it to shed more weight. I still have clothes in my closet for another -20 pounds or so. I am most likely very out of "style" but I have always felt that as long as something looks nice on me, I will continue to wear it.

Tomorrow is a fast day for our family (Yom Kipper) maybe that will be a small kick in the tush for me! :-).

Welcome aboard - I'm a new comer too - so I'm still trying to get to know everyone. My progress is seemingly slow too. I think sometimes it's because our expectations are so high - try using other ways to measure - 29 inches is awesome - how do your clothes fit - how is your breathing when you walk etc.
Everyone have a great weekend - weather here is supposed to be sunny and 70's now that is perfect in my book.

Viv--I am a slow loser also, there are weeks that I don't lose anything, but I keep pushing because I know that eventually my body will cooperate and let the weight go.

Hink--Hooray for a size 8!!! that is what I'm wearing nowadays too.

Cassie--Congrats on your retirement!!!

Deb--Welcome to our team.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, it will be a busy one for me.

Viv - sorry to hear that you have been frustrated by your slow progress :-(
but glad that you found a few others in your support group! and 29 inches is amazing!! You are making progress and have made some great changes in your lifestyle for the better!! Stick with it!!!

emoticon emoticon

Sheryl - you know I am also a loner when it comes to running... I am not real good at running with others, maybe its cause I feel self-conscious, I was always the slowest runner on my soccer team when I played in college, always the caboose when the team would go on long runs, so I guess I haven't really ever felt real confident when it comes to running. That being said... I agreed to meet a friend to walk during lunch a couple days a week and she decided to start the couch to 5K plan, so I have been doing that with her, even though I can run 5K already.

Anyway - I will continue to run because I know that it is helping me lose weight right now.

Hi All,

I have been lurking for a long time now. KInd of sulking as my journey has continued to be SO SLOW emoticon

Most everyone who posts is loosing at a nice clip and I am lucky to loose one pound a week-with doing all the right things, including doing protein first and getting in my whey and doing my exercises. I felt a bit better after going to my local support group this week and found two other ladies that lost very slowly too.

I am thankful to see my steady decline, but I really thought the weight would come off so much faster. Oh well, I am still so happy that I had the surgery and each pound lost makes me feel happier and today I got to a new low. emoticon

I did do my measurements and I have dropped about 29 inches so far. emoticon I was looking forward to a whole new fall/winter wardrobe, now it looks like I will get to go shopping for spring clothes instead. That should be fun when it happens.

Welcome to all the new folks who have signed on. Wishing all a nice weekend ahead.

SparkyFriend, Vivian

Welcome Deb! You will love this group. I was sleeved on 7/15/11.

Congrats on your retirement Cassie! Have a wonderful time tonight! I hope you will share some party pictures!

Cassie, my daughter sells vintage clothing on eBay. While she's gone she has a friend do all her shipping for her. She stocks her store before she leaves and as long as she keeps selling, she keeps traveling! What a life! (she's only 25!)

Hink, I don't really "love" running either, but I do love the friendships I've made with my running friends and that keeps me exercising! Now I miss running if I don't do it regularly!

Have a great day everyone! I'm in a spring cleaning mood today, I hope it stays with me because I have a lot to do!

Good Morning Everyone!

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I am Deb and had my vs 1/2/13, othere than a few minor issues things have gone well. I have been on sp for a while and just hanging out observing for a while. Everyone looks to be doing very well and love all the different advice.

I guess I am at the point now were I am ready to join and talk and to be frank will need the support to stay on track when i go back to school for my masters degree. While my husband is supportive we work different shifts so it's not the same.

Really look forward to meeting all you (in cyper space that is).

Hey Everyone,

Hink, will you share the recipe? I don't eat a lot of veggies either. I eat protein first but could use some good zucchini recipes

I will let y'all know how the party goes. It should be fun. I will post some pics when I can.

Cassie - hope you have a fabulous retirement party tomorrow evening!

I made some oven baked - zucchini chips tonight, yum! and I have to say that is the most vegetable I have eaten at one time since my surgery! I usually can't eat that much of a vegetable, but those were great! I will be making that more often.
