Happy New Year!!!

I have been MIA much of last year, but am trying to do better.

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Karen, life is hard sometimes. I just have to keep doing what I usually do. That's the only thing that Lyme grounded.

I'm glad you were able to visit with your son. Didn't know he moved away. That's hard for you especially with your husband being handicapped.

Hey all, sorry I've been AWOL. Just dealing with life I guess. It's been a rough year at school and I've not done a good job of taking care of myself. Christmas break has brought much needed rest and I'm feeling more positive about the new year.

Christmas was nice. My daughter and son in law came up from Atlanta and we went to my son's house. It sure was easier when he lived next door, but they have a lovely house. I tried not to do so much baking, but did make some candy. I've been doing tons of crocheting, which keeps my hands busy.

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas. Here's to a wonderful, healthy, happy 2019!

Wish I liked fish enough to follow your lead, CWALSH03, but I've never been a big fan. What seafood I do eat, I prefer to have it battered and fried. I continue to get protein from red meat, but I do love chicken and turkey. Regardless, I still rarely meet my protein goals on food alone.

thanks - 6 week check up in on Friday. Very hopeful that I'll be below morbidly obese by then (or at least by Monday, my real 6 weeks). Also hope that my nutritionist will have some ideas for incorporating more food-based (vs. shake-based) proteins. I'm a pescatarian and am REALLY tired of tilapia. But plant-based proteins don't have enough protein for as little as I'm eating. So, we shall see.

Well, I made it a month after surgery. I feel better than I thought I would. Now to figure out how to incorporate more and more foods. Glad to be out of puree stage. Today's breakfast is a delicious baked egg w/feta. Yum. Hoping to get cleared for exercise (other than walking) next week. Onward and downward. :)
