Hi Cassie!

It looks like that did the trick. I don't see the funky characters anymore.

OMG - Thanksgiving is in LESS THAN 2 weeks!
I usually have a big party on that Saturday. and I am NO WHERE near ready!
And I've had a bad cold. I was going to take a long weekend and get caught up.
Nope. Been sleeping.

And Friday was with Birthday. Pretty much slept through it and my birthday. Didn't even get dressed to go to the mailbox. I have SO had enough of this!

So HAVE you been posting on FB? I don't see any notifications. :-( Gotta get over there and check things out. FB seems to be all clogged up these days. Maybe it's me.

So how is it going?

How are our new members????

How are the ones prepping for WLS? Excited?
And the ones recovering? Not so bad? Worse? How are you feeling?
I went in Oct. I kind of wish it had been later so I couldn't have gotten into the Christmas cookies. NOTE: DON'T DO IT!!)

Take care all!
Marla

Hey Everyone,

Marla, I turned of smart punctuation and smart "." I'm assuming that's smart quotes

We are usually in the 70s and 80s this time of year, so we are thinking we may have a cold winter That usually only happens every few years Hoping for snow and a cold winter!!!!!

We are doing okay

I'm going to put back the quotes and period because they aren't being typed!!!! Don't know why if that isn't it

I only hear from Bob and Linda on FB nobody else comes here to talk anymore

Take care

Yikes!
And how often do you get freezing temps?
Or at least freezing temps this early in the season?

I am SO glad it's the weekend! I really need some down time!
My place is still like a warehouse after an earthquake, with all the post re-construction boxes and bags, plus all the stuff from cleaning out my aunt's house, AND the empty boxes and packing supplies so I can ship stuff to my sister, but I still have to sort it, and I still don't know where my stuff is, or where things belong in my last 1.5 years of never ending, overwhelming, upheaval. (Yes, that was one long run-on sentence, cuz that's how life feels.)

Still, I have a job, and a roof over my head, so I'm grateful.
I need to snap out of it.

So how is everyone? Bob and family? Linda? Karen? Cassie?
How's everyone doing?

Is anyone travelling for Thanksgiving? Is it as big a deal now, as it was when you were a kid? My family is smaller, but my long time friends' families are bigger. So I'll be doing a lot of local driving.(45 min between stops)

Have a great weekend everyone!!
Marla

By the way Cassie, I'm seeing lots of strange characters in your text. I think it's where there should be quote or apostrophes. I'll bet your device recent had an update, or you got a a new one? If you can find a way to turn off "smart quotes" that might fix it..?

Hey Everyone,

Marla, sounds like you are having a hard time!!! Come here and chat anytime!!! We have all been where you are, or at least I have been. I’m enjoying retirement!!!!

Halloween Candy is in a big bowl here, and I’m not dealing with it very well!!!! But since I don’t get hungry, and don’t see it, I’m doing better than I would without surgery!! emoticon emoticon Yes I did just say that!!

Anyway we are having freezing temps, so didn’t have May tick or treaters, so lots of leftovers!! emoticon Sigh!!!!!

Take care!!

You are so clever, Cassie!
Yes! I was a dragon for Halloween!!

I don't know what's going on with me.
I have the munchies - Insanely!
And mood swings. But usually because of events. Still...
PMS? The "change" ?? It would be about time!
Been praying for that since I was in my 20's! LOL!
But I'm also feeling more alone lately - I *am* alone, mostly.
And work is just a huge pain. Not the job; the people. Or a few of them.
And I know that everyone deals with all of this. It's just getting to be a bit much.
*whine* *whine* *whine*

I'd probably feel better if I ate better and got some exercise, too. I'm just so over worked and tired. One of those vicious circle things. Blah, blah, blah.

Well, thanks for letting me rant.

So I live in a condo. ZERO trick or treaters. So no need to buy candy. Yay!
How are the rest of you doing with leftover candy in the house?

Hey Everyone,

Hey Marla, what’s going on with you? Are you Having a hard time at work? I saw something on FB. I’m glad you are here, doing well.

I hid the Halloween Candy. Out of sight, out of mind emoticon emoticon Yes I did just say that. At the beginning of my weight loss journey that really worked since I didn’t get hungry. I never thought about food, but times have changed and 11 1/2 years later that doesn’t always apply.

I’m going to be a diva for Halloween. My usual costume. I have a tulle skirt I made and wear it over leggings while I give out candy.

Will you be a dragon by chance?

Hey Everyone,

We have a FB group that’s private, just for people that had gastric sleeve surgery. It’s the VSG Joint. I will check it may be the VGS Joint but if you are on FB and want to join the group send a friend request.

I am also on FB as Cassie Davis Crochet. I keep my parameters small so if you can’t find me let me know and I will make them public so we can become friends.

We are having cooler temps this week. emoticon 60s and 70s are emoticon I’m wearing long sleeves and enjoying the low humidity. emoticon

Hey Everyone,

Turtletalk, emoticon You are doing well!!
I was sleeved 11 1/2 years ago. April 7, 2008, and have lost 120, but like you have not been able to lose anymore. After my 10th surgerversery, I lost my mojo and have gained about 10 pounds. I'm working on losing that, just not very hard. I tell myself I'm trying but I know I'm not eating the right foods. Desserts and carbs have crept back into my diet.
I also have trouble eating slowly, even after all these years. emoticon emoticon

My dr says I shouldn't try to reach a normal BMI that I will look sick, and it's just a number, but it's also a mental game for me. I'm having a hard time getting back on the wagon. I'm determined to do it though.

It's great to see you here. Hopefully we will meet here and encourage each other.
We have a group on FB too if you are interested in joining. It's VSG Joint. It's a private FB group.

Take care!!! What's your name?

Hi Cassie, I am new to this group but have been sparking on and off for a decade. My surgery was two years ago. I have lost about 80 pounds but haven't lost anything in the past year. I would like to lose another 15 or 20 to get to the elusive "normal" designation, I try to stick to low carb but am only partly successful. My surgery was a breeze but I still struggle with self-control and slow eating.

Marla, so good to hear from you!!! I'm glad you are doing well.

It is quiet in here. I don't think many people come and talk anymore.

I have been doing okay. Still Redhatting with my group. Saturday we went to The Cajun Village for shopping and then had lunch.

LSU is still undefeated so we are happy!! Geaux Tigers!!!

Turtle, I'm not sure I have ever met you!!! It's good to have you here chatting!!!! I enjoy meeting y'all!!
When did you have sleeve surgery? How are you doing with it?

I have gained a few pounds, and I'm trying to get them off.

Hi all!

I guess I missed a post, and fell off the mailing list again. Oops!

Nope; I'm not a teacher. I work in IT. It IS fun! (When it's not insanely busy)

And yes, sometimes hurricanes get up to Boston. Not often, thank GOD!!! And they are usually fairly weak by then. They cause a little damage on Cape Cod, Martha's Vinyard and Nantucket, and make the news. But it's rarely anywhere as devastating as it in other areas.

We even had a tornado recently on the Cape. THAT was shocking. It took the roof off a hotel.

So how is everyone?

It seems SP forums are getting quieter these days, no?

Hope everyone is doing well or improving..
Enjoy what's left of the weekend!

-Marla

Hey Everyone,

Marla, when I was in school we began the day after Labor Day too, but here that hasn't happened in years. This year was the earliest start date by far!!! Some schools began the first and second week of August.
I believe they are trying to go to a 10 or 11 month school year. Schools have more holidays and for longer periods of time.
We didn't have Spring Break at all and we only had off 1 day for Mardi Gras. Now Mardi Gras is a week long holiday and then they have Spring break at Easter. So I guess they have to begin earlier in the year to get all the school days in!!! emoticon emoticon

I don't hear from anyone anymore except on FB. Everyone seems to be doing well. I think we are all struggling with weight gain, except for Bob. He looks Fabulous in his pictures.

Y'all all take care!!

Wow! School starts before Labor Day?
When I was a kid, that marked the END OF SUMMER
... (Read: end of the world, LOL!)
So I'm always a little surprised to hear when kids go back before then.

Sorry to hear about the drama!

I hope everyone is doing okay....?
I'm worried about our WLS friends with health issues.
It's been so quiet.
Send out some good vibes to everyone!

Hey Everyone,

Marla, I hope you feel better and get everything moved. Take care of your back and don't over do things!!!

Halloween and Christmas aren't on my radar yet, but I have bought a few gifts for Christmas. I shop all year, so I'm usually just buy a few things during the madness!!!!

School started a few weeks ago here. We have already had drama!!!

Take care!!!

Hey, where's everyone been?
Everyone okay?

I've been shifting junk around - again. And hurt my back - again.
And so, feeling bad for myself, have been eating more sweets.
And the added weight makes me feel worse. And so... Yeah...

OMG! Stop the roller coaster! I want to get off!

So how are YOU????

Can you even believe school is starting up again soon?
Wow!
What will you/your kids be for Halloween?
And is everyone done Christmas shopping? LOL!

Hey Everyone,

Marla, I understand eating junk. I have been doing it for way to long. I'm doing better, but.... it's soooo hard!!!!

11 years later, and I'm having more trouble than I ever did before. I am determined to lose what I have gained. I'm not letting this defeat me!!!

I hope you get some heat relief soon!!

Take care,

Netflix! Awesome! How's that working out?

We are in another heatwave in the Boston area. It may break tomorrow.
I'm hoping that today is the LAST day for moving furniture.
I am SO ready to be done.

And I need to get back on track.
Been eating junk. And little else!

Marla, I understand heat wave!!! We are having 107 heat index.
Our police department got on the news, and told the criminals it was to hot to commit crime. They should find a friend with Netflix and watch movies!! emoticon emoticon I haven't even heard of anything like that before emoticon emoticon emoticon

Anyway, I'm still here trying. All snacks are gone or close to it.

Marla, take care and stay hydrated!! Saints for friends is such a good thing!!

I'm going back to Vegas in a couple of weeks, so more heat!!! I need a vacation to Washington or Montana or some place cool!!!

Love to all!!!

Oh no! (Feeling miserable after junk food, not for surviving Barry!)
How's the walking coming along? Maybe a little walking will make you feel better?

We are having a big ol' heat wave. Flirting with 100 yesterday and today. Not sure what it got to yesterday in Boston. (Heat index over 100) 5 am and it's 81 already. And all weekend I've been moving stuff out of my aunt's place. AC in her kitchen and in the truck's cab, but otherwise - OMG! (Thank God for my wonderful helpers!! Saints!) Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey Everyone,

We survived Hurricane Barry!!! emoticon But I ate everything in sight during the process. My tummy still hurts from all the junk. I also had a cortisone injection and have one scheduled for this week too. Between that and the hurricane snacking, I'm feeling fat and miserable!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

So I'm getting back on track.

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Cassie, I'm sorry it's rougher this time. So frustrating! But you can do it. I have faith.

Of course you need to find a place that's not 300 to walk... Sometimes THAT seems impossible.

It got to 101 here on Saturday! But then yesterday was 74, and I had to actually put clothes on!

[Happy?] Monday everyone!
Hope we all have a good day and a great week.

Hey Everyone,

Marla, glad the rearranging is going well emoticon emoticon emoticon

We have fireworks downtown on the Mississippi River. It's against the law to have individual fireworks in the city limits, but some do. We are outside the city limits and have fireworks in our subdivision. It sounds similar to what you described in Hawaii. The smoke is bad, but it's beautiful to watch. We stay inside and watch from our kitchen. We have a big window to look out.

I danced around the den last night for exercise. Trying to get back in shape for our Vegas trip in August. I'm going to be walking and exercising.

Y'all take care. It's hot and humid here. Heat advisory etc.

Hi!

Yes, I agree! I spent the last two days sorting stuff and moving boxes and bags.
Ran a couple errands, and my car claimed it was 91
Thank GOD for air conditioning! (Especially in my car!)
The weekend will be another 2 days of rearranging stuff. At least today. Might need to rest on Sunday, but I'd like to find my couch! I think it might be in the living room under that massive pile of God knows what. LOL!

Silver lining is that I'm drinking more water.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

So, INFORMAL POLL...?
1. The Boston Pops puts on a great show for the 4th. Fireworks over the Charles River are generally pretty darned good,
2. But for personal use, fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts. Some people get them and light them anyhow. there are always a few injuries....
3. A few years ago I went to Hawaii, Oahu, to visit a friend over Christmas. On New Years Eve, it seemed that EVERYONE in his neighborhood was lighting fireworks and fire crackers. Even the older kids. It was non-stop explosions from 9 pm to 12:30 am! The smoke was so thick, I could barely see the houses across the street!

So just curious, can you have fireworks in your area? Do you? Or neighbors?

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Okay, I guess it's time to "exercise" again.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Hey Everyone,

Marla, do you buy the iced coffee or make it? If you make it, make it skinny. I use fat free 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee, and Splenda. I make it myself so I know what's in it, but when I get cafe au lait out I use Splenda. I can't give up coffee.
Also I eat sherbert, but also Bluebell Homemade Vanilla, just don't eat more than a scoop at a time. Easier said than done, I know.

I eat chips easier than ice cream. We are all different in what we can tolerate. Unique in every way!!!!!

Take care,

Yes I can't afford Hawaii!!! Don't know how people live there or California. We priced some houses when visiting Santa Barbara because it's so beautiful and GREAT climate!!!! Everything we could afford, we wouldn't want to live in, so here we sit!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Our snow storms are measure in feet all too often.
Maybe Hawaii IS the place to be? Always above 60 and below 90.
But you must work 3 jobs to afford both a house and groceries.
San Diego?

I'm hoping to want to have a desire to think about possibly planning to get back on track in the near future, maybe.

Hey Everyone,

WOW three 90 plus days is a heatwave???? emoticon emoticon I didn't realize you had 90 degree weather. My bil and sil live in Cheyenne. Retired there from SC. A heat wave for them is 75-80, no humidity. They want us to retire there too, but it's just waaaay to cold. They are the opposite of us. We have warm, hot, hotter and hottest, they have cool, cold, colder and coldest. There last snow was in June. emoticon Can't take that. So we are looking for a place with moderate temps like Tennessee. Seasons at least, but won't be moving anytime soon, if at all!!! Our lives are here.

Anyway I'm glad you are well. I'm having a problem with weight too, but I don't seem to want to do anything about it just yet. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My aunt's house is in Cambridge, just outside Boston.
Sadly, we get far too many humid 90 days! But it's not the norm.

(A "heatwave" here is 3 90 days in a row. I just did a google search and found this: www.currentresults.com/Weather/US/number-h
ot-days-cities-summer.php - Boston averages 9 days at 90+ ??? Seems like way more to me! But maybe it's been warmer in the last couple years. It also says 0 for 100+ and I know we've had a few. Maybe it's only for Logan Airport temps, and that's right on the water. Inland gets warmer without the sea breeze.)

Oh, I'm fine, thanks. My doctor ordered one (routinely?) as I was struggling with weight.

Wow, it's July!
And Monday.
Sigh...
And 4:30 am.
I have to go to work.

Have a great day/week everyone!!!!

Hi everyone!

I'm struggling to get back on track myself. (I want ice cream!)
I had a routine barium drink test last week. They discovered I had silent heartburn/reflux. What the heck? And worse, that barium makes me feel like a beached whale; OMG!

Well, I'm using that as a wake up call to go back to basics.
At least until the MD says I can't have iced coffee.
Then I'll come here for a melt-down. LOL!!!!

My place is FULL of stuff from my aunt's house that we are trying to finish cleaning out, so we can sell it. (No a/c and 90 yesterday!) Where's my iced coffee?!? (decaf counts as water!) And I actually ate a salad yesterday! (I know, right? hee hee!)

Yeah, Karen and Bob, how are you doing???

Anything new happening with y'all? I'm still procrastinating everything. I eat healthy for a day or two, and then right back to my bad habits. The only consolation is that with my small stomach, I can't hold as much. So I'm maintaining which is good for me right now!!!!

Hey, I've seen some darling crocheted dragons on Pinterest! *hint* *hint* Okay, just kidding. Mostly. But I was thinking of trying, since I used to enjoy crocheting. These days it's scrapbooking. (Thousands of pics, I have!)

Seriously, I sure hope that appeal is resolved soon! Praying, fingers crossed (Typing is so hard this way!) and sending good vibes!!!

I need to try that ice cream recipe! We get no sugar added ice cream, and then I top it with a bunch of berries and a little whipped cream.

I was on the phone with insurance last week. They claimed they didn't have the appeal, and the person in my doctor's office who handles them was on vacation until Wednesday. She said she'd faxed them 6 times and they kept sending it back. Anyhow, we finally got everyone on the same page, and I'm hoping to get some news tomorrow. I'm afraid it's taking so long that I won't be able to go back to work when school starts in August.

I've been coping by crocheting lol. At least I can't eat when I'm crocheting. I made 3 shawls last week and started a cardigan yesterday. I wish I could funnel my energy into cleaning house, but that doesn't seem to happen.

Count me in with the sweet stuff too- especially chocolate!

Hey Everyone,

Isn't it weird how we can all eat different things, as a slider food. For me it's chocolate candy, crackers, and hard cookies. Doughy things like soft bread, cake etc fill me up, and just sit in my stomach!!!! Yuck emoticon emoticon But kisses and crackers, I can put a whooping on them!!!! emoticon emoticon Yes I did just say that.

Marla, at least you have a new, redesigned kitchen!! emoticon emoticon

We are doing great!!! I'm going to try the strawberry ice cream. I have only used ricotta cheese in lasagna, hopefully will be good and sweet. I will use Splenda to taste since I like things really sweet, it may take more than the recipe allows.

Ok, well, your flood was a bit more significant than mine, I think...
Mine was just 4 rooms.
And I paid extra (took out a loan) to redo my kitchen after I discovered black mold and just about flipped out. (I never thought I was a drama queen!)

It's amazing how long this stuff takes!!!

We can't eat very much ice cream? If only! That stuff just melts into me, I'm afraid.
Half a burger, and I'm done. But soft bread or cookies, and I can keep going all day. (Don't ask how I know!)

Isn't it Friday yet???

You are doing a emoticon It's very difficult to recover from a flood. We have people that haven't recovered and our flood was 2 years ago.

Y'all all take care.

Yikes, Cassie, that's really rough. :-(
Wait, I'm hoping he shortened one leg on purpose... right?
(Do I even want to know HOW one does that? Probably not.)
I really hope you're getting better soon. As in NOW.

Yeah, you made a funny. :-)
And it's GOOD to be able to laugh about it., Since the flood was last July! (OMG)

Right. Carbs vs Protein. I'm SO into comfort food. And now I'm starting to crave ice cream, of course. And I know that eating carbs and sugars just leads to wanting more! GET ME OFF THIS ROLLER COASTER! Okay, I'm calm. I just need to find proteins I actually like.

Here is a recipe from shop.bariatriceating.com/strawberry-ice-cr
eam.html I've been meaning to try: (And I saw one that uses Greek Yogurt - maybe from Hungry Girl?)

NO SUGAR STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM
2 cups frozen strawberries
2/3 cup part skim ricotta
1/4 cup Splenda or 2 tablespoons Truvia - optional
1/2 teaspoon vanilla - optional

Instructions
Place strawberries in the bowl of food processor and leave at room temperature for 20 minutes to soften slightly.
Add ricotta, plus sweetener and vanilla (if using) and pulse, grind, and blend until a very silky smooth soft serve ice cream forms and serve immediately.

Ok, gotta go to work, darn it!
Have a great day/week everyone!
-Marla

Hey Everyone,

I'm so far behind I don't know where to begin except to say Karen I don't know how you are remaining so calm!!!!! emoticon emoticon
Did I mention I hate insurance companies. They shouldn't have the right or power to dictate procedures to your doctor!!!! I'm furious about, but don't know where to begin a protest on your behalf!!!
Forget exercising, I don't know how you are functioning at all!!! You have been through enough. Take care. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!!!!

Marla, it's a pleasure to hear from you. Sorry you are going through so much!!! When it rains it pours, and that leads to flooding!!!! emoticon emoticon I made a funny emoticon I read every word so understand you are having a difficult time.

I'm not exercising and I'm eating more than I have in 10 years. emoticon emoticon But I am still trying to lose 10 pounds!!!!

The second hip replacement didn't go as well as the first. I'm still recovering and have a limp. My dr shortened my leg slightly(according to him), and I'm having a hard time adjusting!!! So I haven't exercised like I should since physical therapy, and I'm eating waaaay to many carbs. I do much better when I eat protein first!!!!

So let's all hang tough together!!!! Tomorrow is a new day!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon We can get back on track, quit the emotional eating, and eat protein first!!!

emoticon emoticon emoticon I'm feeling fat, and will do more to eat healthy and stay hydrated!!!! Come join me!!!!

OMG! why??? Too cutting edge?
I am so tired of greed in insurance companies at the expense of patients.
Glad your MD filed the appeal, at least.
Going through all this isn't bad enough? Let's add some red tape!

Exercise? What's that? LOL!!!

It's so good to see you! You sound like you've been crazy busy.

No surgery yet. :( Anthem is refusing to approve my surgery. My doctor has filed an appeal. If they won't approve the cryoablation, my only choice is to have a nephrectomy- the removal of part or all of my kidney to get rid of the mass. A way more invasive surgery that will cost my insurance at least double the cost of the cryo. It's very frustrating. I was counting on having the summer to recover. But I have to admit, having this week to rest up from school has been nice. I've been crocheting and working on summer school ideas. (We're doing a camp for incoming kindergartners for the first time).

I haven't been doing well on my summer walking. I walked one day, and it's been raining ever since. I am getting to my water aerobics class, but I need to get in some serious exercise!

Hi all!

I have SO much catching up to do!

How's everyone doing?
Cassie? Bob? Linda?
How was Karen's surgery?
emoticon emoticon

And its nice to see new people joining.

How's it going Redman? Did you decide which way to go?
I went with the sleeve because of the potential issues with the more invasive options. Riskier surgery, trouble getting enough nutrients, and potential dumping. (But then maybe that last one would have kept me honest! If I don't eat protein first, I can eat a LOT of carbs!)

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I regret not being around. Miss you guys! Life's been so crazy busy.

Skip this if you don't want to be bored to death:

STILL cleaning out my aunt's house, but there's an end in sight. (Did I mention they were QVC addicts and hoarders?) Too bad there were no hidden treasures, like a Rembrandt in the attic! And, sadly, a lot of the stuff went to MY house, to be dispersed to family, friends and charity from here. So now it looks like I'm the hoarder.

In fact, after the flood at my condo last year, not everything has been moved back to the right place, and I inadvertently mixed my stuff with her stuff. And the spare room was packed just about solid!

Then - of course - with a rampant flooding issue throughout the condo, many balcony sliding doors have needed to be replaced. And yes, Mine was long overdue, but not a flood hazard. So I had so move a significant amount of junk from my spare room - did I mention it's a fairly large bedroom? I was the master bedroom that I made into my home office - and now that stuff is all over my living room.

On a happier note, I finally found my mugs that have been boxed up for months and months. Just in time for iced coffee season! LOL!

And work? That's no better. End of fiscal year, and end of school year. Lots of projects and upgrades. AND our offices is moving. By the end of summer. And we don't know where yet. They tried to put us in a moldy cellar! (My asthma will just love that!) Everyone at work is beyond stressed out, exhausted and anxious.

So I'm working long hours, then I go to my aunt's place, and then I get home in time to go to bed.

And let's not even talk about my eating habits and constant dehydration. Someone give me a pep talk please.

OMG - I need a vacation!!

Ok, gotta get ready to go out. It's now graduation and wedding season, too...

Happy Friday! A week from today is closing day for school. I'm never getting my room packed up in time. I have to change classrooms and I've been in my room for 10 years. And yes, I am a teacher hoarder. I've tossed a lot, but I have a HUGE collection of books.
I finally have a kidney surgery date- June 3rd! I'm doing the happy dance, but that also means getting my house straightened out in addition to getting my class straightened out lol. And I'm up to my eyeballs in kindergarten graduation. I finished the slide show last night, but still have to burn some DVDs, make the program, and all that fun stuff. I don't know what they'll do next year since I won't be involved with it. Anyhow, glad for school to be out and REALLY glad to get this pesky tumor out! No exciting plans for the holiday weekend other than cleaning and maybe squeezing in a barbecue.

Hey Everyone,

Karen, I agree with you about the sleeve. It's less invasive. Mine was done laparoscopically, and I didn't have any problems. I'm glad I chose it, but really my dr sent me in that direction.

Redman, I'm sure you will make the correct decision for you.

Karen, the chicken sounds really delicious!!!

Y'all take care,

You will make the choice that is best for you. I'm glad your back and leg pain is better.

It cooled down a bit today due to rain. I'm so glad. I'm not ready for 95 degree weather! I made bacon wrapped chicken for dinner. It smells really good. Cut chicken breasts into 4 oz pieces and pound flat. Mix 4 oz cream cheese, two tablespoons of chopped green onion and 1/4 C grated pepper jack cheese (I used a habanero cheddar jack that I had). Spread evenly over chicken and roll up. Wind one or two slices of bacon around each chicken roll and bake 375 for 30 min. Broil for 5, turn and broil the bottom for another 3 min to crisp bacon. I don't know how it tastes yet, but it smells devine, and I did taste some of the cheese mixture that leaked out. The hot cheese gives it a nice flavor.

Howdy everyone. Just checking in. I am still having the back/leg pain, but it isn't near as horrendous as it has been. I am waiting for the final go ahead from my dietitian to schedule my surgery. I am still not decided on the type of surgery I will choose...but hope to speak with the surgeon soon.

Thanks for the info. I will have to revisit this discussion when I meet with the surgical team.
