Fat Brain has its tentacles out, trying to sabotage me. I don't have any trouble eating; not sure when I'm full. I am tempted to eat more than the half cup of food per meal. I wish I could eat 3 bigger meals instead of 5 smaller meals.

I'm thankful that I did so much research before my sleeve. I'm on a message board at American Bariatrics, and one of the biggest tips I learned there is that Fat Brain (my eating disorder) lays in wait in the wings. I've been able to keep to my program because I've been watching for it.

Queendonna, good for you for starting to un-do your gain. I read a lot about people regaining and I sure hope to avoid that.

I am 12 years out from VSG and 55 lbs up. I had some physical challenges (unrelated to VSG) for the last 3 years. Those 5 surgeries "convinced" me to sit and eat. Now I feel ashamed. People ask me what happened, etc. Plus, surgery wasn't covered by insurance and I feel guilty about the $ we spent.

It is so much easier to go back to my old lifestyle. I am forcing myself to go to the gym today. Also, this post is another step in the right direction. Just admitting to all this helps. Now I just need the courage to resume my weight loss journey again.

Thanks for listening.

I'm down 45 pounds from my highest weight. Things are getting easier to do, like showering, toileting, getting in and out of chairs. I'm still over 300 pounds, but I'm on the way.

I haven't been doing much exercise. Arthritis in my knees, usually use a walker when I go out. Today I went to Costco; used the grocery cart as my walker; really pushed myself; made it home OK. Whew. Proud of myself.

My Fat Brain still obsesses about when I can eat again. I close my eyes, become aware that I am not hungry, and can wait til I eat again. The small portion I can have leaves me wanting more. Gotta get the brain on board.

Thanks, Cassie.
Right now I can eat 5 small meals, .5 cup at a meal. Does this increase, like to 3 larger meals and no snacks?

Hey MTereza,

I was very diligent about listening to the dr and Nutritionist. I stayed on spark, and ate a low carb diet. I still do that, but in the last two years have allowed myself to eat more, and have gained some pounds. 15 to be precise, so I'm working at getting rid of those pounds.
I made bi-yearly visits to my dr and asked for help in maintaining. I don't want to gain anymore weight so I'm working at getting rid of it.
It was like my brain decided after 10 years it could go crazy with food, but I'm determined to get rid of it.
It's good to see you here!!!

Take care!!!

Hi, Cassie,
I hear about sleevers gaining weight back easily. How have you maintained? I know I'm early out, but my Fat Brain keeps obsessing on eating more food than the .5 I can have at meals.

I had fallen away from SP, but came back after my surgery and track religiously. I need to get off my smaller butt and walk. Today is sunny and 50 out; no excuse.

Hello. I'm a new member. I had VSG on 1/21/20.
I'm a month out; have lost 26 pounds since surgery.
My diabetes is still in full force.
I'm on soft foods. 5 meals per day.
When I hit 6 weeks, I can have virtually anything to eat - healthy foods, of course.
I can't tell if I'm full.
My Fat Brain still obsesses about when I can eat again. I'm limited to .5 cup of food per meal. I want more, but don't eat it.
I'm 66, retired. Having trouble getting up an moving. I'm doing laps around the inside of my house multiple times per day, so that's something.
