(taps on the computer screen)...Hello??

What happened here? Was there a shootout and I missed it? Where'd everyone go?

My excuse you ask? I computer caught a virus and crapped out. I'm back now though!

I can't say I've made any progress on my Stone before Christmas though. I am trying to eat better still. But here lately it's not easy. My daughter started driving school on the 26th and she doesn't get released until 6:30 at night. Making trying to get home, cook a healthy meal and get other evening things done before bed a major obstacle. So we've been eating a lot of burgers! Yuck. I am not a fan of fast food. But it's just ...well..faster. When I've tried to cook we end up eating at 8 or 8:30 at night. Not a good thing. I wish I had my slow cooker back. That would help so much. I could put something on before we leave the house in the mornings and it would be ready when we get back home at night.

How is everyone else doin?????

Peace and Blessings,
Irish

Hello! Mr. Russ I am SOOO happy and proud for you! You must feel great!

Well I haven't been so good. I fell right off the good choices wagon! Well, I was kind of dragged off. I had a ton of errands to run Wed and Fri and was out all day on Saturday and Sunday and Monday. Each day I was with other people and kind of at their mercy. What is it with people and buffets??? It can't be the taste of the food cause that isn't all that great! And grabbing burgers for lunches. UGH! And Thursday I went pretty much all day without eating. But I am determined to be back on track this week.

Peace and Blessings,
Irish

Thank you Mr. Russ!

I was wondering. Would it be inappropriate, for those of us who feel comfortable with this, to post our daily intake on here? I'm finding that I'm kind of excited to post both my good choices and not-so-good-choices on here and hearing the feedback and suggestions and, honestly, encouragement. I feel like it helps keep me accountable. For the first time since joining one of these kind of things it feels so good! I love the honesty here.

I think I did ok today! I'll post this time and if it isn't appropriate I won't do it again.

I already told my breakfast.

Lunch: ok this wasn't a great choice but I don't think it was too horrible either. I got held up for 3 hours at the Driver's License Office and was famished by the time I got out of there. Burger King was the closest thing..I KNOW I KNOW! EEEEK. I order an Original Chicken Sandwich and that's it. No fries or anything else. And I took my bottle of water in with me.

By the time I got out of the Driver's License Office it was too late to go to the store, get my daughter and cook. So we went to Cheddar's. I ordered the following.

Dinner:
8 oz steak
House salad made with green leaf lettuce, 3 grape tomatoes, and a smattering of julienne carrots. No Dressing. 4 slices of fresh lemon squeezed on instead with pepper.

I'd ordered steamed broccoli but was too full by the time they brought out the corrected dish. They originally brought it out covered in butter!! Not how I ordered it at all. I ordered it plain, lightly steamed with no anything on it.

Peace and Blessings,
Irish

Woo Hoo! I did better today on Breakfast!! I had a bowl of fruit (0.5 banana and 0.25ish red seedless grapes) and Half of a Ham, Cheddar and Tomato Omelet! I couldn't eat the whole thing cause I was stuffed!!! Normally I am a speed eater. And I know that when I speed eat I over eat so I'm working hard on slowing down so my brain can tell my tummy it's full. And I did it this morning and WOOO HOOO it worked!

Now if I can just do as well for Lunch since I have to go out to eat. I'll be out to errands all day!

Speaking of..I gotta goooooo

I wish I could follow the Adkins, but I can't. It causes more health concerns for me than benefits. So I can't do no carb. But I do usually attempt a low carb or better carb choices. So instead of russet potatoes that have no nutritional value at all I use reds that have some, or instead of potatoes I'll cook rice (usually brown). I also love my veggies, especially my green veggies which are have a carb index. I learned that when a friend of mine was on it and couldn't eat spinach. I must have spinach! I can't disappoint Popeye after-all! LOL

But I am working on doing healthier SP recipes when I cook at home. I'm finding that since my wife moved away for the year, and my daughter (17 years old) is away from home quite a bit in the evenings, I just don't have the heart to cook in the evenings. I know that's silly. I do like lean Cuisine type frozen meals for lunch so I'm going to stock up on them. And I guess I'll just have to learn to cook for one. Man...that is just depressing. But I will not let the get me into an emotional eating binge either! I recognize it and will not let it rule me!! So take THAT Emotional Eating Monster!

Peace and Blessings,
Irish

A good old fashioned omelet with ham and mushrooms will fill the gap !!

the carbs are the pain in the diet, I follow the Atkins eat when I am hungry and never feel "starved", blood sugars are constant and I have all I can get in my belly, so I dont feel cheated.

looks like you are making changes though, so that is good, just gotta find a way to be goodererererer !!

Off to an ok but not great start this morning. Went to breakfast at a place called Jim's. I did NOT get my usual 2 Biscuits, Sausage gravy with 2 extra sausage patties!! For which I was proud of me. I had 2 poached eggs (they were sooo good), 1 biscuit, 1/4 c. grits, and 2 paper thin over done not-so-good sausage patties. Is that horrible? Or did I do ok?

RUSS said, "Hope you all had a good week, please check out my latest blog................ "

Not so far! I'm up 2.5 lbs, though I'm not at a week yet and the heat makes me get into the salt and retain water.

I'll re-weigh on Thursday, which will be a week from when I did the last weigh-in. And hope the news is better. emoticon

Not such a great week. I got on the scale and I've gained 2 pounds. I'm up to 290. I'm completely freaked out. I am going to be joining the gym this week if all goes well.

Well, that's all I can say. I'm not going to give up. The old me would have. I would have just felt crushed and curled up and quit. But I won't do that this time. I'm just going to keep going, even if I don't eat perfect every day or whatever. I'm just going to keep going.

Miss Raven ...........its a pleasure !

I have already had mail that confirms the word challenge is soooooooooo not required, we will help , badger, push and pull our friend s along, but we will not make this so daunting that it beats us.

the whole idea, that is being embraced by 30 + Sparkies now, is to bond as a unit and get each other to show that this is so easy and doooooabbbblllleeee (!)

Why make things harder for ourselves eh?

keep posting, I have had another good day, stuck to the plan, and got some tasty chicken to nibble on right now !!!

Well I'm actually doing well I think. I'm not putting too much pressure on myself but I am making steps!

My plan to make SP recipes is going well. Night before last we had Ranch Cheddar Turkey burgers with over fries and OMG they were so good! I had the leftover burger yesterday for lunch! Then last night I made a Keema dish. It was good but my daughter and I think it was missing something. So I did some searching and found the missing spices! So I'll be making that again. And there's a ton of leftovers so I'm having that for dinner tonight again!

Can you believe it? I went to get on the scale yesterday morning so I could log my weight and start off with the right information and the battery was dead! Ugh. So I'm off to buy a battery today and will weigh in tomorrow. I'm really scared about this. But I'm gonna face it and get it going in the right direction!

I talked to my wife yesterday and asked if I could join a gym. She said "Of course honey! If you want to then I'll support you any way I can!" Isn't she a peach?! So I'm getting that information today! Hope to start soon!

TrustyRuss this is a great idea! Thank you for putting a "mission" out there that I don't feel threatened by. This feels good. It feels doable. And I like that it's not a "challenge", I always feel like a failure if I try one of those and don't make it. So thank you so much for this!

Peace and Blessings,
Irish

That is a good idea. But I'll be honest, I always mess up when I try to change my ticker. I can never get the damn thing to work right! LOL

But I'm on it! I've committed to using SP recipes for dinner. I'm going to make sure to actually eat breakfast in the mornings. And I'm going to try to get back to working out daily. My wife recently moved to Louisiana for a year for work purposes. So my motivation and will power are a little low. But I am going to give it my best shot and hope to stay motivated as best I can.

Look! Look! I remembered! emoticon emoticon

One other thing !!

I have reset my weight ticker , as you can see, to show pounds lost and set it to 14, even though I want to lose more , this is a good way for us all to keep track, dont you think?

the stones are the background and the turkey is my dinner !!!

if you dont want to dont worry, just an idea !

Well Christmas is coming !!

As most of my Sparky friends will be celebrating in the USA, here is a link/paste, to a nice page that will explain what most of the USA gets up to over Christmas, you call it Thanksgiving dont you?

http://www.santas.net/americanchristmas.
htm

And the other point is there are 94 days to go.............which is 13 and a bit weeks, now I dont know about you, but I always get clothes that are too small for me !! always.

So it got me thinking.........why not go for an all out push to shift 14 lb, a stone as I will call it in Wales.

That is just over a pound a week, and what would a stone do for your looks and self esteem ?

Well that is MY plan, if you fancy it just post that "YOUR IN !!!", and then there will be no going back !!

So, shed a stone for Christmas is now in opereation, lets get it on..........

I AM IN !!!!

emoticon emoticon
