MEJAI1 - You should totally try snow shoeing. I live in the northeast, and would normally hate snow. I don't downhill ski and I'm not very confident on cross country skis. I got a pair of snowshoes from LL Bean a couple of years ago and have been a snow convert. Still not a fan driving in it, but happy to walk on it!

Day 3 - Really stressful day both at work and driving home through a snow storm. Happy to get anything in.

10 minutes walking
10 minutes running

Hoping for better weather tomorrow so I can hit the gym for spin class.

Snow shoeing can be hard if the paths aren't cut, but it is fun and I think easier than cross country skiing. It is especially great when the sun is out. The snow looks like its covered in diamond flecks.

Today, day 2 I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and 60 minutes in spin class!

MAYRERUTH1 - I'm not sure if anyone here has had the surgery, but if not, you can go to the community section and post the question in the "Get Help Here" section, and one of the SP experts can answer your question. They usually have great insight. I am sure that there is a team on the site too that will have post-surgery members. Congrats to you on your major losses!

I would like to know if anyone is post weight loss
surgery. I have lost about 80 pounds and now have loose skin under my chin, under my upper arms and thighs. Are there any exercises to help with this
problem? I hate to exercise but I know that I need
to start an exercise program. I need help.
I do not really want to have plastic surgery.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone may have

NANA - at least you recognized it, and you can get back on track tomorrow! It's about the overall lifestyle, not just one day!

TTPOET - I love hearing about you finding the 10 minutes motivating. What I like to do is work out enough to feel it but not enough to not want to do it again the next day!

Hey, all. Sorry I haven't been here in a few days. Been really distracted.

Anyway, tried the New Wii Active for the first time today. It kicked my butt. The 30-day challenge is hard and I could only do half (10 minutes), but I did burn 100 calories and was proud of myself for doing that much. Also, I think I am going to work up to the challenge by doing some of the other workouts and increasing my endurance.

Have a great day.

ok vljones2, what kind of shape are you already in?
Do you live in or have access to a walking area? Just starting out walking for 10 minutes a day is a great way to start out. You don't need any equipment. You can get a wonderful workout by walking (refer to the walking guide here on SP. After that you need to use something to lift and if you don't have weights use cans of veggies or water bottles. just increase the weight as time goes along. I'll send you some suggestions if you'd like later on. I need to go home from work now. But the first thing to do is just get moving.

I went back to therapy again this morning and all went well. My schedule is M-W-F and I'm not sure for how many weeks. The therapist added a couple new exercises today. Nothing is very strenuous as I go at my own pace but I did actually ALMOST break a sweat..lol. If all continues to go well then after my therapy is finished I plan to join a fitness club nearby. I still don't love exercise but it feels so good emotionally as well as physically to be doing something and especially something structured. God is good and He knew I need a nudge to get started.
AND HOW ABOUT THOSE SAINTS!

Thanks guys, I did count the housework. I'll tell you I was sweating when it was done. Getting the house ready for a party on Saturday and am trying to stay ahead of the dust bunnies. I'm working today, I sub in several courts in the area, so my real exercise will have to be late this PM. If I don't post what I did, somebody send me a STERN message to get off my a$$ and do it!! PLEASE, it's sooo easy to get lazy after working.

Some days you feel you can't do it but just 10 minutes led to an actual 30!
