Well even if they don't have that heater, they'll have frozen food. I won't just go to get the heater so that it won't be a wasted trip.

You might try to call them before you go. Give them the model number / name. If they don't have it, tell them you saw it on their website, and see if they can get one into their store. Nothing worse than making a trip somewhere to get something, and they don't have it when you get there. Most places will work with you (even on a "small" item).

The Hydor link you posted was the one that I saw... sorry I really thought it was a lot smaller than that. Guess the memory is getting a little dusty. Good find!

I did manage to dig through the boxes in the garage and found my old 3 gallon tank (to see what heater it had). To my surprise it did not have a heater, but after re-reading the instructions, it said to turn the "built in" lamp off if temperatures go too high.

No, it's a Hydor Mini Heater Aquarium Heater (7.5 watts). If you find one I highly recommend it - I've been very happy with mine. But you can't control exact temp. It simply heats whatever the water by a few degrees so you have to keep an eye on your water temp.

It's good for up to a 5 gal & helpful if you have a cold room. I use mine during the winter & when the a/c is running.

Stay calm and carry on.

I found a small heater for my 2 gallon betta tank. It's flat and completely submersible & doesn't get messed up if it's run dry. Initially I found mine at a store specializing in aqauriums, but I think I've seen them in places like Wal-mart & Petco now. They are made especially for tanks under 3 gallons & are safe for acrylic & plastic, too. HTH!

Stay calm and carry on.

I think I know the one you are talking about. The thing is that where I live there is only Walmart. I have to go out of the city to a petstore. I think I may be getting a 5 gallon for him anyway now.

I saw an "under gravel" heater at one of the stores (either PetCo or PetMart) that was 1 - 3 gallon rated. I will see if I can find the store/model/make of it. Though the under gravel was an interesting idea for a smaller tank size (since there is not a lot of room in the tank). It was flat a little larger than a silver doller.

If you can find it online, and get the make / model of it, you can try to see if your pet store can order it in for you (most local shops (not the big "chain)) will order you just about anything.

The reason I don't want a five gallon tank is that I don't have the room. I think wal-mart, at least the one near me does, has them. I might think about it, but I have found a 2-5 gallon heater.

I found one that went up to 3 gallons at petsmart. I should mention I don't buy online.

I should mention that beta don't need much water, but from what I read they need at least 1.5.

I'm trying to find somewhere that might have them now, I won't be able to get the tank till early June. I also plan to get some glofish, but I plan to get the glotank for that.

Honestly I think you're better off getting a 5 gallon. Easier to find the correct heater, room for a quality filter, better for the fish, same amount of maintenance. You could even add a friend for him. Foster-Smith may still have some of their 5-gallon Mini-Bow set-ups for clearance prices.

I'm trying to find a heater that can be used in a 1.5 gallon tank.

I have a betta and I'm going to up grade his tank in a few months from 1 gallon to 1.5. Right now I don't have a heater, but I'm planning to get the tank below.

I'm having trouble finding one. I have find a Tetra one for 2 gallons. I don't really want to get a two gallong tank if I don't have to. Please help.
