Thanks! I uploaded a photo to the team.

Don't mind how dirty the tank looks. It's really not. The smudges are a type of green algae that's growing in my tank. It hasn't seemed to harm any of the fish in nearly two years now. It sort of makes everything look more natural (or so I keep telling myself), but it's almost impossible to remove. I've tried everything up to, and including, taking all decorations out and scrubbing with scouring pad. It's actually discolored the slate at this point. The only thing I haven't tried is bleach (outside the tank obviously).

Hey all. I haven't been here in forever. First off, I wanted to say, "Hey," but I also wanted to mention that my mated pair of Firemouth Cichlids successfully bred. I woke up this morning to see about 100 fry being tended faithfully by them.

They must have laid their eggs while I was out of town, because I didn't see them before I left. I'm not sure if I'm going to strip the fry or let them try to tend them themselves.

Hello Team hope your well and ready for this wonderful day. emoticon

I have 3 - they've settled in nicely. I am not sure what the snail population looks like though. I'll have to check one evening after the lights have been out awhile. I've been in the hospital for 2 weeks - not long after I put the loaches in the main tank - so not sure how many they've munched on!

Stay calm and carry on.

Congratulations on your new loaches!
The price sounds about average for them.
How many did you get and how large are they?
I love them, they are so fitting to their name as they are such clowns! emoticon
After they are acclimated can we have photos?

My new loaches are settling in & so far I see no signs of infection. They seem a bit freaked out, but maybe they're just busy fish.

They swim up & down the sides of the tank & zip all over! I hope that's a good sign. emoticon

Stay calm and carry on.

I picked up some clown loach yesterday while I was in Fairfax. There is a shop there that has AISLES of fish tanks. Freshwater & salt & invertebrates, too. I could have gone nuts in there! But I resisted the temptation -- I don't have a lot of fish in my aquarium & prefer to keep my stocking low.

They were so expensive, but I have had such a hard time finding them & buying them online would have been even more expensive. Well...to me expensive. I've never spent $12/fish before! emoticon

I am drip acclimating to the quarantine tank now. They spent the night in the fish bucket-I was so wiped out from walking all day yesterday I didn't have the energy to do it last night. They are none the worse for wear...mom wanted to feed them (go figure!) I said they'd never eat anyway so don't dirty the water! See what I mean about her & the food thing (& I wonder why I'm overweight!)

Stay calm and carry on.
