Sue, hope your poor ear feels better soon! Try a warm heating pad or blow dryer on low setting.
Robin, glad you got your ticket:)
Another beautiful, but warm, day in southern NH. I raked more today. Tomorrow, no more raking! I will finish the darned lawn(s) on Monday......maybe:0

Busy workday coming up. But I'm debating about finding a doctor for an external and internal ear infection (one in one ear, one in the other). Been trying home remedies (equal parts rubbing alcohol and vinegar).

wow I didn't even know spark was down today - I can't sign in at work the boss gets irritated because we have a salesman who is online all day long on facebook so I try to stay off during the work day.

Doris a tan already! omg! glad you are feeling the burn!

Robin YEAH for getting your ticket already! and really your poor dh hope he finds a flight home - that has to be a pain when traveling for business like that.

I had such a great day - the sun was out it was fantastic! I hit the gym and got in 4 speedy miles - then home to work on my car - got a bit more done - so I'm getting there - hoping to register her tomorrow. so now I need a name for her - I really thought about Punky for the baby - but as someone pointed out to me - when the baby grows up a bit she won't like me calling her punky and so it wouldn't be so cute on the car then - I also thought about Rosie a nickname my mom had - but I already named my first car priscilla after my mom - so I'm at a loss -

hope everyone had a super day - it sure was beautiful outside!

Hope everyone got their Spark in today, was worried I wouldn't get my numbers in before midnight my time.

DH is going on a business trip Friday night but he is having a problem getting a flight back home, guess it is semester break or something like that.
Got my domestic ticket last night, I'm flying from JFK to Portland Maine and my daughter will pick me up there since it's easier for her. Can't wait!

Have a GREAT day everyone!

Congrats, Doris!

Don't know what happened to SparkPeople, but I sure am glad it's back on. However, no time to make a decent post because I'm in the middle of my workday. Have a good one, all!

So, I got the OK from the Dr. today to do whatever I want...if it hurts, stop. I thought I would celebrate by raking leaves for two hours. I have blisters on my hands, the yard is starting to look good and the "girls" are just fine:) The boat broker called last night, we have an offer on our sailboat. We counter offered and they accepted. Sigh. I don't know whether I should laugh or cry. It will be tough to not have a boat this summer but that means we can start the hunt for the next, bigger boat to live on!!

Happy first day of spring:)

Sue, I usually love to read your "Adventures of" blogs, but truthfully, the fountain of youth one was more than a little sad. Don't think I'll be heading there anytime soon, hahal

Beth, hope you're finally recovering from the bug you brought home from your trip.

I've been working, sleeping, working somemore...or otherwise crashed because I'm tired out from working. Still making slow progress on the house, though we're approaching the "move whether we're ready or not" time. I'm spending my first weekend of overnights up there this weekend, trying to save some time/gas/money from the commuting...just gonna take my sleeping bag, camp stove and Jude for the company.and hopefully get a lot of little stuff done.
One of the girls in my department is trying to get people to sign up for the Mudbowl next october. I'm really thinking of going for it this time...might be just what I need to start getting my poor tired exhausted flabby butt beck into gear.

Robin 2 months - that will go by fast!

Doris not that warm here today and we still have alot of snow on the ground - but it was amazing out! tom raked what he could and the mud is getting muddier - so spring is in the air and I'm a happy camper.

Bill and I found the Fountain of Youth yesterday. At least that's what they call it.. Ponce de Leon never made it to Warm Mineral Springs here in North Port, because a Calusa Indian poison arrow did him in before he got out of Port Charlotte, but we did. They're having a free EcoFest weekend, so we went to check it out. Can't say I feel any younger, but we sure did smell like sulphur when we left there!

Weather is definitely strange again, today it is cool, VERY breezy, sand everywhere again, overcast compared to hot, upper 90's and full sun. It's a nice change to know it still gets a little cooler here. Can't wait to get back to my New Hampshire weather though, a little over 2 months!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

what an awesome day Doris!!! I had to work for a bit and then hoped to work on my old car but the grand daughter is here so I ended up babysitting - but tomorrow will be soon enough - I look forward to just hearing her run! :)

no fancy stuff going on here - we are babysitting and we had soup because she likes it and will eat it - so it was good enough.

hope everyone else had some fun! enjoy this spring like weather!

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone.... No big celebration planned for us.. Babysitting our 2 yr old Grandson ( so his brother can go skiing)..
Looking forward to spring. It looks like we will be having warm weather all week. Normally I would be sad to see the snow go but this year I can't wait for spring. emoticon

Actually, Ag, I had to slack off while guests were here. They couldn't tolerate my going out for walks all the time, doing my exercises in front of "The Voice," or meditating twice a day. What I meant was that I'm delighted to be back to my routines now! And, Beth, I'm afraid all the routines don't make me sane--probably borderline OCD, but there are worse obsessions, right?

That vacation sounds like heaven, but I sure hope they find out what polka-dotted tropical bug you picked up!

Robin, yippee for being only 2 months from home! It's just too bad I won't be seeing you this summer.

Have a good weekend, all. Sleeping in is at the top of my agenda!

Welcome back Beth, hope you feel better soon. Your vacation sounds like something my DH would love! 70 more days until my vacation.

today I'm cooking my corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and Irish soda bread since it's our weekend. We'll have lots of leftovers for sandwiches, hash and leftovers.
We decided to change our domestic flight plans instead of going into Boston and taking a bus to Concord, we're flying into Portland and my daughter will pick me up from there. Hopefully it will work best.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Hello Ladies,

I'm back from vacation. I haven't read the whole thread that I've missed, just the last few posts. I suspect I missed a lot.

Holly, I hope you'll share some of the vegetarian dishes that you find during this endeavor of yours. Which I happen to think is a great idea by the way. I have a few vegetarian dishes that I love...and a whole bunch that I've found that are...well...less than stellar.

Sue, I think sharing your home space with "others" is always challenging. Even if they're people that you really like. Glad you got through it with most of your sanity in tact. (Most of your original sanity. I'm not accusing you of being sane or anything...)

Robin, hope things are all going well for you over there! What's the countdown back look like right now?

Memere, I'm happy to hear you're pain free now. If a wee bit impatient about strength training. ;-) Baby steps.

Okay...that's about how far back I've read.

Our vacation was phenomenal...and I absolutely did not want to come back. The place we stayed was beautiful, the water was gorgeous, the people were really nice and laid back. The scuba diving was truly unlimited. If we wanted to go pick up air/nitrox tanks at 2AM and do a night dive...we could do that. What a blast.

Unfortunately, I came into contact with Typhoid Mary on the way home. I've been ridiculously sick since I got back. I hope this is gone soon. They actually drew blood today, to try to figure out why I'm still sick. Ugh. (I'm SO happy this didn't happen on the way TO Bonaire!)

Anyways, I hope you're all doing great. Looks like spring is here early this year! Woo Hoo!

Suzy, you seem to really have your act together, not letting 1o days of unwelcome guests get you down & give you permission to slack off. Someday, hopefully, I'll have that resolve.
did my own water aerobics today, nice change from the treadmill etc. Not as much fun as the group I was in but i'm still not allowed any shoulder strengthening. Seeing the Doc Tuesday, hoping he moves my activity level up but I doubt it. ... I shouldn't complain, I'm pain free & can do almost anything except lift & strengthen. Hope all of you are well. Looking forward to spring more than I usually do. Still have snow & ice in Waterville so outdoor activities are still limited.

Somehow we got railroaded, Holly, and couldn't limit the stay. We'd said, basically, "Come on down!" Then they insisted on getting themselves direct flights, which boxed them into a Monday through Wednesday schedule. Argh.

Bill is still sacked out. I have a feeling he's going to take longer to recuperate from having company than I am. I'm just so delighted to be back into my Spark routine. It holds me together like nothing else, but of course it includes a number of subroutines, like meditation, walking, making lists, and so on.

Holly, I am envious of your going vegetarian for a while. I don't like squash or beans so it would be tough for me to do that. I do love veggies and fruit though:)

zoom zoom friends - had another great day - food is amazing and I made it to the gym again - got in a slow 3 mile run - felt great! thanks to my time slacking off and being sick too - I now need to run 103 miles per month to reach my goal of 1000 miles for the year - so I need to get my butt in gear! I did give my self a break by not counting this month so any miles I get in this month will reduce that number per month for the remaining months. so I'm going to try to get in all I can - I want to reach that goal! I'm going to hope that this wonderful weather will continue and I can start running outside again. that will help alot.

so hoping you all had a great day - take care of you!

it was so nice out today - loved it!!!

Heather way to go - how are you liking it? and you picked a good day to sleep in - glad the days are getting longer but I miss my morning sunshine!

Sue enjoy the game! and glad you had a good visit

anyone heard from Beth did she return from her vacation yet? if I were her - I'd just stay there - had to be awesome!

I had such a great weekend - and today went so well - my first day doing a vegitarian diet for 6 weeks - with my grand daughters allergies I wanted to learn first hand how she will be able to eat healthy and enjoy her food - so today is day one and I'm pleasantly surprised - haven't missed eating chicken or fish at all yet. and my dinner was actually filling and tasty too. acorn squash with pineapple, apricots, cashews, raisens and cinnamon on top - the sweet fruit really did balance out the squash - I'm stuffed!

Well I made it through the first week of 5K training. I was going to get up a little bit earlier and start week 2 this morning, but it was very dark out. So I went back to sleep. I'll have to push myself to do it after work. It was such a nice weekend. Have a good week everyone.

Back home for a quick pause in our travels with the guests, then off to Tampa tomorrow to see the Bruins play Tampa. All this wreaks havoc with tracking! Have a good one!

hi all - we had such a good day here - the sun was shining and the day was lovely - I did make it to portsmouth - couldn't find the material I wanted at the fabric store - but I did buy a new cook book for my punky doodle - having to learn how to cook vegan will be different but I want her healthy so I'm going to learn

I had such a great time meeting up with my friend - we talked and talked and talked - lunch was ordered and we talked until 6 pm - no lie ! we were both like OMG it's that late! wow! so we headed for home - I told him next time we aren't waiting 25 years to catch up. hahaha it was a great day

Happy Sunday everyone, hope you are having a good weekend. Can't wait till I'm back on New Hampshire weekend time again. Not much happening in the land of sand, it's hot, 97-99 most days now and only mid 70's at night, glad I got my treadmill.

Holly, hope you had a great time with your friend!

Doris, I love browsing Home Depot, Lowes and all those hardware stores so I can dream.

Have a GREAT day everyone!

that is one of my favorite stores Doris! glad you enjoyed! and tomorrow will be awesome! I'm heading south into portsmouth for the day to spend it catching up with an old friend - actually an exboyfriend - haven't seen him in 25 years - and he is now married with kids too - but much younger than my kids - so it will just be nice to catch up - tom was going but decided to go hang out with his brother instead - so now it's just me and my friend and his wife - should be a nice day.

hope everyone is having a good month - I'm gearing up for a good week ahead - so tired of being tired so once mother nature is done with me for this week - lol I'll make a new start again - having TOM twice a month really stinks. mentalpause doesn't play nice at all

Shopping with DH today. Home Depot, Lowe's, hardware stores, oh, the joy. Actually it was fun. We looked at lots of stuff for the house but only bought lightbulbs, cleaner and a new under counter light:)
Have a marvelous Sunday (tomorrow).

I hear you Robin - I need to do the same thing - between being sick on and off and ear aches and grand daughter babysitting - it makes it hard to stick to any kind of workout schedule. but I'm back to making me a priority I'm so sick of being sick!!

Doris I agree it was windy today - but they say perhaps snow flurries tomorrow - so we'll have to see what we get. sunday looks good tho.

sue hope you are having a great visit!

I'm exhausted so torning in - will catch up more later

Oh Holly that is too bad your dinner was terrible. That does sound good, but not for someone who doesn't do drinks.

The treadmill is working better now that I got it all figured out and even figured out that I can make it even and not on incline. Can't wait to get back there and back to the gym, it will make me accountable!

Nothing exciting here, same old thing. Have a great weekend!

Thanks everyone! we survived another year! haha and I even survived dinner out - the dessert was terrible! couldn't even eat it - chocolate cake and I don't like coffee and it had koluah (sp?) in it - all I could taste was the coffee - yuck!!! I don't do coffee - so it was terrible that they wrecked such a perfect thing as chocolate cake with that crap. so no dessert - they had sold out of the carrot cake so not a good ending. the dinner was good tho.

Doris this weather was awesome!!! so glad you got out to enjoy it - I wore a nice spring type of dress today - and sandals - very nice day!

Aggie have a great time and I'm so glad your arm is healing well and pt is going so well too - continue to take care of you
