Sue, DH switched routers and there is no problem now. The new router is on the same circuit as the other one. Only problem is the one we are using now, doesn't get along very well with some of the computers on the network. If it isn't one problem, it's another.

JSTETSER - I LOVE living in NH too but I've yet to hike in the mountains, I hope to someday.

I love living in NH because of the mountains. Yesterday I led my first hiking group up Mt. Monadnock. What a gorgeous day. We all had a breat time, and I learned a lot about leading a group.
Happy Monday everyone!

Hey, Robin, did you see my note about the router problem? Bill thinks they're both on the same circuit and the treadmill is draining power from the router.

Back to work for me today. We've got a warm spell coming over the next few days, and our AC is out until a replacement part arrives. If it gets too bad, I may just jump in the pool!

Happy April!
Enjoy your new kayak Doris!

Holly, that baby will become more active and slow down on the naps real soon! Enjoy her company though!

DH didn't figure out the treadmill vs internet router thing so he just switched routers. He said it might have something to do with the treadmill motor noise level or frequency since this has only happened since I started walking faster on it. We'll get it figured out

Have a GREAT week!

Holly, knew you would rock the race!! You must be proud of you:)
DH and I bought another kayak today so we each now have one. For some reason though, he thinks the old one would be better for him, rather than the new, pink one! We went to Dick's sporting goods and found a pink, last year's model that they gave us $90 off, so pink it is:) We also took the 40 y.o. sunfish sailboat 9barely big enough for one) to a local pond to see if it would float. yep. she does so we shall fix her up a little as our "big" boat is sold.
Happy end of weekend all.

Aggie that is great! spring is going to be awesome!

Sue hope you had a great day

so this race is the hardest of the series - 2 miles slightly down hill and 1 mile straight up a dirt/gravel hill and today it was so cold there it was actually snowing. I had on my gloves and my fingers were still cold - it was cold! but I finished in 34 minutes the same time I finished this race last year. I was hoping to atleast beat my own time but nope - same time. haha just proves I'm a slow and steady runner. my oldest daughter also ran this race and she finished in 27 minutes - she is FAST! but she always has been and I'm so proud of her! so that is my story - I had a busy day and now I'm just exhausted. so I'm turning in.

if you believe, you WILL achieve

So, the boat survey was today (like a home inspection). We were not the customer so we don't get a copy of the results. I am sure they are fine though as we did all the required upkeep. Sigh. I think our first trip to look a new to us boat will be a weekend to Virginia. We shall see from there.
Holly have fun tomorrow at your race:)

I went to the rabbitear website, JSTETSER, and loved what I saw! Any one of us who has hiked Monadnock (though I'm not one, sadly) would love to see the trailer for the film.

Don't know what's planned for today yet, except that it's housecleaning weekend!

Back from Florida, interesting (ugh) trip back but that's another story. Anyhow, Today I did my favorite 4 mile loop (walking) in 70 min. This was the 1st time I walked outdoors that distance since my injury in Nov. so it felt great. My shoulder feels great except for weakness which will improve once I can start strengthening exercises. Looking forward to SPRING.....

haha Sue yes I agree she wins the prize! but it does make for a fun story! lol

Doris only once or twice a year - enjoy! sounds wonderful!

so my first race of the season is here - tomorrow morning I'll be running my first 5K - then my daughter found a 5 miler in Salem MA on 5/6 - so we signed up for that one too and I think we might do the Wine and Dine 1/2 marathon at Disney in November - that one just sounds like fun - it starts at 10 pm and the after party continues on til 3 am - so I'm thinking why not - and it will keep me training strong so we'll see how it goes. we have time to decide.

Suzy, funny. I don't think I would call my DH and complain about his driving of another vehicle. Gilda wins the back seat driver contest:)
Got out for a walk/run this morning. DH and I went to the boat and ended up eating in Portsmouth. I love Fat Belly's burgers and fries but they are not good for me. Good thing we only go there 1-2 x a year!
Happy weekend all:)

Doris, the ultimate in backseat driving is Gilda. She and Bobby went on a long trip last week, and the brakes in their Navigator started failing. After they reached their destination, a very good friend of theirs who lived there offered to drive Gilda back, following Bobby in case of disaster. (Gilda had refused to get in the Navigator.) Halfway home, she calls Bobby on the cell phone and says, "When are you going to back off of that truck you're tailgating?"

Sue glad he did the driving - Tom hates to drive me anywhere - he always seems to break my car - no lie - one time he came back with my windshield broken - another time a check transmission light was on - not good! so if we go in my car he just won't drive. lol and that is fine with me

Doris way to go - one step closer - and what are you talking about - the race you did with us you weren't even close to last - so don't even go there girl! you do fine for yourself - just like me - I go to finish and that is what counts - I only race against myself and call it good. you'll be going again soon - just heal first

hope everyone had a super day - I got to the gym again and got in another 5 miles felt great! Saturday will be a good race and they say the weather is going to be great - that is a bonus!

Sue, glad Bill the driving for you. You just got to "assist" him:) I love assiting my DH when he drives...slow down. No, slow down. I mean SLOW DOWN!!! He has a bit of a lead foot.
Holly, good luck on your race. I can't wait until I can race again.....even if I do come in last:)

Good luck with that interview, Doris! Just be yourself, and they'll want to work with you so much that they won't care whether you're overqualified!

Bill did the driving to St Pete, which was really nice and allowed me to crash in the car all the way home! Walking around campus all day introducing yourself to people you don't know can be exhausting.

I'm off to St Pete today, to visit professors at St Pete College.

Robin, Bill thinks your router and the treadmill are on the same circuit, even though they're on opposite walls, and the treadmill is taking enough power away from the router that it needs to be rebooted. The wiring may not be fabulous either.

So, I have been out hunting for a job. I am getting a little bored with retirement......hard to believe that I officially retired 2 years ago but really only stopped working at the end of Oct. Since then, I have painted all the interior walls and ceilings, re-done most of the woodwork.......no more inexpensive home improvement projects. DH and I are getting ready to look for our next boat so we will need another income. Didn't expect to sell our boat in less than a year in this economy!

Sherri's house is looking better and better every time she blogs about it!

Our AC fan motor died yesterday, and we have to wait 3 to 5 days for a new one. Ah, the joys of home ownership! It could be worse; it could be midsummer. And I like fresh air anyway.

You just can't walk away from something that's only a buck! I've been looking for a stand for the lanai, where we can put miscellaneous clutter, and got one at the antique fair for a buck! Bill also got a big copper pot, and I got a pair of turn-of-the-century Parisian opera glasses for $20. They just caught my fancy.

Robin, sheesh. What is wrong with that router??
Sue, gotta love "antiquing".
My Mom went to a flea market today and bought a vase for $1.00 It had a price tag from the original store on it for $28.99 Gotta love great deals too:)
DH and I went to the movies today. We saw "Hunger Games". It was amazing!!! Stayed true to the book, which always helps. I wonder why people brought little kids (9-11 y.o.) to a movie that is inherently violent. The movie handled it well......you saw the beginning of a fight, then the afterward but not the actual death. I liked it.

Sue sounds like an awesome day - glad you got to enjoy

Robin wow that is crazy! you've been using it for a while now is it something that it just started doing or has it done it all along? if it is a new thing - what changed? there has to be some weird reason it is doing this now - I'm sure your dh will figure it out when he gets home - and do share why - that is just crazy!

I took the day off - just the minimum and that is it - I'm going to relax today - and call it good - I've worked hard and I just need a break! lol

it's cool here and raining - but it is melting the rest of the snow so I'll be able to rake soon - can actually see most of the lawn again - lol

LOL Sue, I have no problem watching tv while on the treadmill, the tv stays on. When I am done on the treadmill I have to go "reboot" the router. The treadmill doesn't effect anything else except the router, just really strange!

I feel for you, Doris. You probably had many happy hours on that boat. But now, of course, you'll have many more finding and getting attached to an even better one.

Robin, that's just plain weird. That means that you can't watch TV or the Internet while you're on the treadmill, for sure, but why it's happening is a mystery. I'll ask Bill. Have you tried unplugging the router to reboot it? Is it on the same circuit as the treadmill, even though they're on opposite walls?

The antique fair yesterday was enormous. The town itself is antique shop central; there must be two dozen of them lining the streets. They all had sidewalk tables, PLUS tables set up all over town in every spare parking lot. We spent two hours there and didn't even see everything.

Woo Hoo Holly, way to go on the run!

Congratulations Doris and hugs at the same time. Take your time and find the perfect boat!

Sue, have fun exploring!

Ok, help me figure this out. Internet router works fine, I get on my treadmill, internet router goes offline and I have to reboot. Internet router in on the opposite wall in the living/dining room as the treadmill. Treadmill does not have any internet capability at all, and does not send workout information to any gaget. I just can't understand why this happens! Every single time I get on the internet the internet router goes offline.

have fun Sue! hope you find some great treasures!

Doris I say a dance of both would be fine - after 7 years of happy sailing you should be attached a bit to that boat - but you are on to bigger and better things and finding the perfect boat for your future plans is very exciting and happy! so I say a bit of both are in order - and happy boat hunting! you never know you may find the one of your dreams quicker than you may think. good luck

I had a great outside run today - got in 6 slow miles - I was so happy with it - I was hoping for 5 miles but thought I was closer to 6 because it took me 73 minutes and if it took me that long for just 5 miles I wouldn't have been too happy with myself - I didn't push it at all but I didn't just walk either - I cold talk - or rather sing - haha the whole time so I was in good control of my breathe - so I was happy enough with my time. several good sized hills too so that also was good because I didn't stop and walk them - when my timer beeped for the 3 minutes I ran all 3 minutes and when it beeped for my 1 minute I walked as fast as I could for that 1 minute. it worked well. racing next weekend so that will be fun and I'm ready for it.

have a great weekend everyone! take care of you and have fun!

Today was weird. I don't know if I should be doing a dance of joy or be sad, we sold the boat. But, now we get the excitement of finding the next one!! It could take a year to find what we want in the USA. Then, we can sale again. For now, a kayak and a sunfish will have to do.
Today, we took all of our personal "stuff" off the boat. I did not realize just how much "stuff" we accumulated overthe past 7 seasons.

Punk is kind of a cute nickname. Maybe it was "Punkin" once.

We're off to explore a new town today, while they're having their monthly antiques fair. Should be fun!

evening NHerites - lol another beautiful day here - a bit windy but I'll take it. they say rain this weekend - we do need it but really? then back to some cooler weather again - just as long as this short spell wasn't our spring or worse yet our summer - I need that ahead of me!! lol

Robin glad he got a flight home again even if he does have to work the next day - but really yuck! I love my foam roller and it does take a bit of practice but feels great and you do have to keep the cat away - I had to buy a new one because the cat did scratch my first one up - I was not a happy camper - my dd had left it out after trying it so that is how it ended up a cat scratch post - darn kids -

Sherri have a great productive weekend!

Sue glad you got some meds - and even more happy they were nice to deal with. take care of you

had a good day at work - super busy - no gym tonight just needed the break and will try to go for a long run tomorrow. enjoy all

Hi team. No raking today. My arms need a break. I will finish Monday and then, let spring begin....oh, it already has. Or did we skip it? I just hope we get no more white precipitation:)

I dunno, Holly. I work with a woman in her mid-forties who uses the nickname Punk to this day. We even use it in informal booking notes on the computer. She seems to still like it, haha.
Yay, Robin has her ticket home!! Now the count can really start.
Glad you got your ear fixed, Sue, and can get back in the water.
It has been gorgeous here. I've been working some really weird hours this week, some to my benefit, some not, but I get out of here early today, need to run some quick errands and then Jude and I'll be heading up to the house to spend a couple of days. Hoping the 6 hours I gain by not having to drive back and forth each day will let me really focus on getting a few things done. Though if you could see my ambitious to-do list, haha, I'm not sure if 2 days will do it. But I'll give it my best shot.

Thanks for the remedies, ladies! I went to a walk-in clinic and was pleasantly surprised by how nice they all were there. Doc gave me antibacterial drops and pills, and--even better--told me I didn't have to avoid going in the pool! I've been dying to go in for three days.

You hit 85 in New Hampshire yesterday?? Do you know that is about what it was here for the past couple days? So we're even on the same day for a RARE change, LOL.

DH did get a ticket back just today, of course it's a late night flight and he will have still have to go to work in the morning, ICK.

I got one of those foam roller things yesterday that I am going to try, it really looks like I need some kind of co-ordination to use it though. The cat looked at me like I was nuts when I was on the floor yesterday trying it out. I guess he thought it would make a great scratching post.

Have a GREAT Friday everyone!

hi everyone! Doris I know can you believe how awesome the day was - really perfect! I got so much done at work - then 4 miles at the gym again - and home to work on my car a bit more - she almost starts - so exciting!

Sue OUCH! never heard of using that mixture before - I usually use peroxide to foam out anything in there - hope you are able to get it under control even if it means finding a dr.

Robin - another day closer! yeah!
