On Thursday in our tournament I was drawn to be in 5 man team. The best part of the day was on hole #6, a 3 par (also where I got my hole-in-one in 2017) all the guys hit first and all had great shots before I even hit we knew we were closer to the pin and would have a good chance to win "close to pin". No one, even me, thought anyone would get closer than our last teammate. That is, until I hit the last shot and almost put it in the hole again! It made my day and helped us to win 1st for the tournament.

Nice pars! Wonderful to have a male witness. I've only had one hole-in-one and the lone witness was DH. Don't care. It was still a hole-in-one, whether it was officially witnessed or not, and my lowest round ever. I still have the scorecard and ball (it's been years ago). One of these days I plan on getting a display for the card and ball.

Pars on those par 5 holes are always great.

Donna, love your description of a great golf day.

Have to tell you about a fun par my friend and I had together on Monday. We were in tournament play and had a male golfer with us (Thank goodness he was a witness). The hole we were on was a long par 5 and I had NEVER parred that one. This was not my home course.

We have a long tee shot to water. The lake requires at least a 3 to get over for me. We hit our second shot and all went over the water. My ball hit the cart path and bounced forward another 50 yds.. My friend's ball also hit the cart path, then hit it a second time and went at least another 50 yds beyond mine. My ball was then , according to my "Golf Buddy" 81 yds from the center of green. The ball was on a steep hill and I couldn't see the green just able to see the flag. I hit my 9 iron hoping I wouldn't roll off the back of the green.

Doug, the male golfer, yelled "good shot".

When I got to the green the ball was only inches from the pin and an easy par.

My friend did very much the same and we so enjoyed getting those pars at the same time.

Played with DH yesterday on one of our courses where the rough was really deep. I was wore out when we were done, but I always enjoy a golf outing with my hubby. It was really hot and humid. Supposed to cool down dramatically this next week and weekend. We did have the course to ourselves. Never had to wait on anyone and no one right behind us. There's a beautiful waterfall on one of the holes and it was running full blast. Squirrels everywhere digging nuts... or burying them. They had no interest in the PB crackers we offered. Usually that's a guarantee. The ones not digging were stretched out in the cool grass under trees. Everyone was hot. LOL

Played today and was surprised to get it in thinking the storm would probably make us cancel. Seems the storm stalled for a bit. Clouds and some wind were seen as we finished around 1:30.

Good job, Mel. Our groups only ever do scorecard playoffs, which we always lose, darn it. Played in our couples nine & dine Thursday. Roll the dice. Everyone tees off and then you roll the dice. I had chosen 1 for my number. Six out of nine times we rolled a 1. Think the dice was loaded. LOL Regardless, we had a good 9 shooting par. Two-way tie and we lost a scorecard playoff, so 3rd place. One par three all but one of us was in the bunker. Rolled my number again. I'm in the bunker.

Today was tournament day again and on the 4th hole I twisted my knee (the bad one) and struggled and grunted the rest of the way. Was lucky to help with several shots and was pleased with the putts I made. We got one close to pin (not my shot) and came in second.

I don't think we'll see temps in the fifties until November. LOL Glad you ladies are getting some playing time in. I'm finally starting to acclimate to the heat. It always takes me a bit at the start of golf season Two more rounds scheduled for this weekend. Don't know if we'll ever get the boat out. I don't enjoy summer boat traffic. Usually by mid-September to late September we're mixing in a fishing outing or two to our weekends.

Happy hump day.

I had a decent Saturday and a terrible round on Sunday. I am scheduled to play this morning but thinking of bailing out. It is only in the 50's and cloudy and still wet from yesterday's rain.
The weather is nuts. We have a day in the 80's then it drops to the 50's or 60's. I'm giving it another hour to brighten.

Yesterday our women's golf league had it's opening 9 hole scramble. I think it might have been the most fun I have had in a scramble. Some truly thrilling shots! And we won!

This morning is the first official round of our league. Hope it's a good one! Last year I won my position for the season but this year I have moved up to second place on my team. Competition is definitely stiffer this year.

Send some of that chilly weather to Arkansas, please. LOL Was off this past Friday and played Friday through Monday. Hot, hot, hot every day, but we always take an ice chest with water, Gatorade, V8 and snacks. Hard to think about eating when it's that hot, but I'm diabetic. I manage the heat better if I have a couple of small snacks over the course of a round. Heat really impacts my game, too, especially toward the end. Glad you got to play. DH and I are in a two-person best ball Saturday. Looking forward to it.

Fairways and greens.

Good evening !
Janet if you enjoy yourself that is good.
You are out walking enjoying fresh air and you likely have good friends out there with you.
I have found one part of my game improves and another falls apart.
We do not have a lot of bunkers where I play so I am extremely lucky.
Hope everyone enjoys their Holiday Week end.in the US
We had our holiday week end last week end.

Today is a lesson. 6 of us arranged for 6 hour lessons. Today is bunkers and trouble shots.
I definitely need the bunkers. And there are not enough lessons in the world to cover all the trouble shots I can find.

Golfma, I am beginning to think you are the woman they bring in when they need a ringer. Your team always wins!

Donna, I play 4 times a week. At 67 my body says that's enough. But I could probably squeeze one more day in if I took a cart. emoticon

Sounds like sisters, Janet. I'd probably play every day, or close to it, if I wasn't still working. The big 63 this Saturday. I WISH I wasn't still working. LOL

Finally got to play today in a little 18 hole Captain's Choice. Our team took first place and won 3 of the 5 Proximity pins.

Getting old ain't for sissies. I was off work last Friday. DH and I played our 9-hole course one trip around after he got off work. Saturday morning we played 18 at a different, harder course. Sunday we played 18 in the morning at one of the easier courses. Finally broke 90 this year for the first time. Was doing so regularly a few years ago before all these back and hip problems went ballistic. Speaking of which, after the first round Sunday, we ate lunch and played ANOTHER 18 on, what I think, is the hardest course in our community.

I've been wrecked all week. LOL I'm off today and tomorrow. We have tee times this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon. Saturday we're going to visit DH's parents out of town. It's a delayed Mother's Day visit. Sunday morning is another 18. Shoot. We were planning to visit a golfing buddy's church Sunday morning. Guess DH forgot when he made the tee time.

Another beautiful day to play today. Had a great time with the team I played with, but, we did't win. We did win one of the par 3 closest to pin awards. Totally a fun day!

Hmmm, our course aeration was yesterday and today too! I'm not playing until Thursday.
Only got in 7 holes on Sunday before the rain drove us off the course. Got my brand new golf bag all wet!

I might go over and practice my chipping and putting though if the sun comes out.

Played on Monday. The course was being arriated so we had to play front nine twice. Fairways were hard and balls were rolling into other fairways. All four of us had a poor score.

Enjoy your game, Janet. Played today in our tournament. My drives were good, but, putting was a problem today for my team. The greens were not soft and putts were mostly long ones for birdie. emoticon

Thanks, Donna. Played on Monday with a friend. Had a great round when I finally parred a long par 5 on a course I had been trying to get a par on that hole for a year or more. It made my day!

Donna, I understand about the cold and wind. Played yesterday, Thursday, April 19. When we started the temp was 71 but the temp dropped every hour and when we finished at 12:30 it was 54 and the wind was 19 mph. Good news was our team won with a 12 under par after 18 holes and we got 3 of the 5 close to pin awards. Strange day but we'll take it!

Played Saturday (April 14) and about froze to death. I would say that's one of the coldest rounds I've ever played. Thank goodness it wasn't raining. Worst part was the high winds and cloud cover. We had a tee time for the following afternoon and I told DH no way, no how. He agreed whole heartedly. Really ready for cold weather to be done.

Played in captain's choice tournament yesterday (4/5). The highlight for me was hitting the best shot on hole #9 (playing partners were all men). They allowed me to putt first and I made an eagle . The prize was a sleeve of Titleist Pro V balls.

We've been putting on aerified greens, too. Hasn't been too terrible, but it does definitely impact the speed and direction.

Played on Monday 4/02. It was the first 18 hole round playing my own ball since January. I hit the ball pretty good off the tea but suffered on the putting. Greens were still a little bumpy from airification. It was still fun to play with my friend Carol and of course we had lunch salads afterwards.

Gray, rainy, cold Easter Sunday. Should be in church, but haven't been in a long time and don't want to be an "Easter bunny." Staying in and catching up on laundry and housework. Reconnecting with SP. Didn't realize I haven't been on the site in two months. Lots going on healthwise. Feel like my doctors are playing pharmaceutical musical chairs with my BP meds. Think I'm currently on 5, but seems to be finally working without going to low. So frustrating. Has been jacked up since my hospital visit Labor Day when they had to shock me back into normal rhythm from 3 days of Afib.

Got in 18 today with DH. Carts on path. I've been in physical therapy for months. I was really tickled with how well I held up. Pleasantly tired. A little disgusted with my game, but there were a few bright spots.
